• Robert (10/5): - This is an exceptional property, with extensive amenities, an attentive and cheerful staff. It is beautiful and in a very convenient location, with great access to both Mattancherry and Fort Kochi. When we arrived we found the hotel to be very well staffed. Even though we were too early to check in, there was a flood of activity to welcome and accommodate us. Our bags were secured for us while we went exploring. Upon our return, we were promptly checked in and shown to our room. The room itself was spacious, well appointed, and immaculate. While staying at the hotel, we deeply enjoyed the breakfast buffet and high tea, which were included in the cost of our room. Although we used them less, the library, the pool, the game room, and the business center were all very nice and comfortable. It cannot be overstated that the very helpful staff were a particular highlight of our stay. Whatever our need, whatever our question, they were readily available, dutifully attentive, and palpably cheerful. We had multiple delightful conversations with staff members as they assisted us in various ways. We were not necessarily “easy” guests either. We made a number of special requests. Even though the staff was not able to grant all of our wishes, they dealt with each issue very respectfully and efficiently. It was a wonderful stay. We would recommend this hotel to anyone without hesitation.

• Susan (8/5): - Lovely hotel with lovely staff. The facilities at the hotel were good, pool, gym, spa, roof top terrace, bar. We stayed 4 nights with breakfast which was very limited for choice especially after 4 days! We ate at the restaurant twice and both times the food was wonderful, unfortunately a few dishes on the menu were not available for both of the nights we ate there. Our room was big and comfortable with a great rainfall shower! The call to prayer at 5am was loud and really annoying to be woken up at that time every morning. Overall it was a good stay, the tuk tuks outside are really convenient…..look for Najeed, he is such a nice man and took us all around to some very interesting places in his tuk tuk he calls the Ferrari!

• Venugopal (10/5): - Hotel is well maintained, quiet and clean. Rooms are spacious with all the modern amenities. Bathroom is quite spacious too and has walk-in shower. The Gym has enough equipments to go around. Food and Breakfast buffet has a good spread but if I remember puttu/kadala & appam/curry were missing. Maybe those items are available on request. There's building and road works around the hotel. One of the roads leading to the hotel was not in a roadworthy state. Felt some staff at the reception to be rookies but overall the experience was good bordering exceptional.

The shower was amazing, just what you needed after being in the heat of Kochin. All staff are polite, helpful and will go the extra mile. The General Manager was exceptional, we had a couple of minor issues which were dealt with immediately, again an above and beyond attitude displayed. We will return to this hotel and recommend this hotel without any hesitation. Thank you for an amazing stay and hospitality.

• sheeba (6/5): Disappointed - I had difficulty with the check in the front desk had issues locating my reservation. One of the rooms had issues with the bathroom door and the front door. The location of the hotel did not have access to the rest of the town due to construction work in progress. Overall was a disappointment. The fish we ordered thru in room service for dinner gave all of us a tummy pain. The lunch and bfast buffet was amazing and was perfectly cooked.
• Mr M D (10/5): My Stay at Fragrant Hotel - Love the Hotel, but bit of a journey to get there. Once we got there found to be really good. The location is not the best, but the staff made up for it, food was really good ,the rooms were really nice. Overall i would recommend this hotel if you want a nice quiet stay. Sightseeing is a bit far ie main Kochi this hotel is in Fort Kochi, and you would need to book a taxi or rickshaw to get around. Overall enjoyed the stay.

All staff are extremely kind; the rooms are elegantly furnished, spacious and very comfortable; the roof top swimming pool and seating area help you to relax, and the spa facility is just great! Getting in to Fort Cochin is an easy and enjoyable walk, and you are Mantacherry in a joffy with a tuc-tuc....quite memorable and a hotel I would recommend without hesitatio

• Jonathan (8/5): Professional staff, good breakfast - The hotel is a bit detached from the rest of Kochi, which I believe to be a good thing. It's in the vicinity of historical attractions, and a short walk from tourist-focused shops and eateries. Although my room was quite comfortable and the breakfast buffet quite tasty if modest, I'd like to give praise to staff members Sukanya, Augustine, Bibin, Anil, and Gibson. They're part of the reason why the hotel gets good marks, so keep up the fine work, folks!

The welcome was perfect with a cooling beetroot drink upon arrival and the offer of a free 15-min massage (which was pretty intense along with the head massage, so if you're fragile maybe give it a miss!). We were in a triple room and the third bed was the sofa bed. It wasn't made up upon arrival which I thought odd, but this seems to be the norm in India as they seem make it up after you've settled I think. The decor in the hotel is lovely with a huge indoor courtyard. The rooftop pool and bar looked lovely, but it was way too hot to use the pool and we were too busy to head to the bar in the evening. The food in the restaurant was so so good and flavoursome, using the local spices no doubt. The portions were quite large, especially the rice, so may be order less at first. There's a cute cafe next door which we didn't visit but I heard it was expensive and there are better places to head to nearby. It's conveniently located and you can get a tuk-tuk to take you around to wherever you want to visit. I would definitely stay here again, without a doubt.

The room is a good size although we had a few issues which hotel staff sorted out quickly. The location is okay and the staff were all pleasant. Overall the hotel is past its glory days.

NOT in the center of town, which is disappointing - most things are 15 minute walk or short tuktuk ride away. I'd choose somewhere in the center and with more character next time.

• James (10/5): Amazing staff - I arrived at Fragrant Nature hotel after having 5 days of extensive dental treatment. As soon as I walked into the lobby I felt at home. The staff were marvellous and attentive. They ensured that I was comfortable, that I was eating properly and looking after myself. Talk about going the extra mile. As for the hotel, it was top notch, I couldn't wish for better. I have to come back next year for dental implant checks. Will definately be staying at Fragrant nature again

• Rodney (10/5): Lovely Hotel in Forte Kochi. - We stayed here two nights on our way to the middle east. The hotel is located in a quiet area of the island which is great to walk around and meet the locals. Our room was lovely, inline with 5 star hotels around the world with all the little extras you expect. The hotel itself is clean and modern with great service and a Lovley infinity pool.

• Carlos (10/5): One of the BEST!!! - Coming from the US to India can be an entire ordeal, ESPECIALLY if you’re not a seasoned traveler, you’d like first world accommodation, A/C, English televison and a hot shower. Luckily I’m a seasoned traveler and need none of the above but oh baby did FRAGRANT NATURE DELIVER!!! Coming into Kerala it does not look like this town would have a hotel like FRAGRANT NATURE but this hotel is a hidden gem. Let’s start with the arrival. Arrival: Upon arrival we were greeted by the friendliest staff. Everyone from the doorman, front desk agent, bell man, spa staff to room service bent over backwards to make sure we had the most comfortable stay and made sure we had anything that we needed. Our front desk agent, Fahtima, walked us through the entire property upon arrival and explained all of the amenities on the property and made sure that we were very comfortable before leaving us. Lodging: The rooms were first class! Everything from the bed, self service coffee and tea, television to the room itself were stunning. We could not have asked for a better room. Pool: The pool area has breath taking views. So much so that my wife and I snapped so many photos that I almost ran out of storage on my iPhone. The clock tower above allows for so many photo opportunities, the spiral staircase also allows you plenty of instagram worthy pics if you’re into that. Finally the pool was so nice and just the right temperature. Bookshelf hotel! You’re really missing if you don’t!!!

The rooftop pool was good without being excellent and there is a really great view up there of the Cochin!

• C (6/5): Good, but not what you expect - The staff are great and service is amazing, and pretty flexible, which was a help with our 9 month old son. The food from the a la carte menu at lunch and dinner was excellent. The building is also attractive, striking inside and clean. But In my view this is not a 5 star hotel, which is how they market and price themselves. It is more like a 4 star, and anyone expecting a Taj-type experience will be sorely disappointed. The hotel has skimped around the edges on stuff like toiletries, other amenities and the breakfast buffet (which is no better than passable). And most surprising (and about which they do not warn you) they do not have an Alcohol license, which most if not all 5 star hotels in the area do. The area immediately around he hotel is also pretty run down.

The hotel is in a great location and all the amenities are state of the art. I rarely write reviews but I so pleased with my stay I told myself I will write one to assist others looking for a hotel in Kochi to stay in. Take my word book this hotel you will not regret it. We were there for our wedding anniversary and the staff had some lovely surprises waiting for us. The room was great the food was fantastic and the pool wow, just wow rooftop pool with an amazing view. Take my word one of the best hotels I have stayed in.

Couldn't do enough for us. The room was amazing - lovely smell (not the usual stanky/damp smell we've had in all the other hotels in India), great a/c, turndown service, lovely bathroom and beautiful decor. Swimming pool great for relaxing and watching the busy-ness in streets below. Short walking distance to the fishing nets and restaurants that serve alcohol too. Couldn't recommend this hotel any more.

Just on the edge of town which is great as a central spot if you want to see Jew town and spice markets and not just the fishing nets.

• Bobbie (10/5): 100% Hotel - This hotel had it all for us - a lovely rooftop pool, a beautiful atrium style decor with huge mural of the Raj days, more than comfortable room and fabulous food. We asked to cook and were allowed into the pristine kitchen to cook with the chef and then eat our Kerala food. The staff couldn't do enough for us and when we left they all came out to wave us goodbye.
• Mary Ellen (10/5): An Oasis of Comfort and Quiet - We stayed 3 days at the Xandari Harbour during our visit to Kochi with Gate 1. We elected to stay an additional day in Kochi and decided to try the Fragrant Nature Hotel. What a delightful experience! Gibson, the front desk manager could not have been more welcoming or helpful. Our room was immaculate with a comfortable bed, nice seating area and a desk plus a large lovely bathroom. The toiletries provided were a little unusual but good. It had excellent air conditioning. The rooftop infinity pool had an amazing view of the harbour. The water temperature was nice and cool - a welcome respite from the heat. Nice lounge chairs and large towels were provided. There were also lockers available to hold valuables. It was obvious that a great deal of thought was put into providing guests with a wonderful experience during their stay. We would absolutely highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kochi
