Guest Reviews
- Peter (8/5): - Very nice boutique hotel in a historic property.
Very quiet, despite the busy area. Metro / Subway a three minutes walk away, many attractions within a 20 minutes walk.
Very friendly and helpfull staff at the reception (24hours).
No criticism, just as an information: Rooms and bathrooms are small, still good value seen the affordable rates.
Very good "Paris feeling" and excellent choice in comparison with the big chain hotels.
- karine (10/5): - Lovely clean hotel with helpful polite staff in a lively neighborhood.
- Michael (10/5): - Sehr nettes Hotel, zentrale Lage
- Emilio (8/5): - The stay was good but entrance was dirty and homeless living in the very entrance
- Eseta (10/5): - Close to the Metro train station
- Antony (10/5): - This is my second time in this hotel, it’s just perfect! The beds are really comfortable, everything is very clean and the staff are really friendly, the location is perfect, everything is near. I really recommend this accommodation, you won’t regret!
- gayle (8/5): - A small nice hotel with a welcoming staff.
- Nickie (8/5): - This property is beautiful. The rooms are a comfortable size. Beds are comfortable. Bathrooms are small but its Paris. The hotel was a great area to enjoy the night life of Paris.
- JEAN (10/5): RAS - RAS
A éviter.
- Louise (8/5): Paris - We had a one night stay in a family room it was clean and had all the facilities that we needed. I would stay again it was good enough for the price we paid and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Continental breakfast was nice and there was a reasonable check in and check out time
- Ignacio (4/5): Well located but old hotel - The hotel is very well located in a quiet street. However the building is quite old and needs work. My room was in a 4th floor and the elevator was not working, beds were old and unconfortable, and the overall feel isnt great. On the plus side, it looks they refurbished the bathrooms recently.
- Michel (8/5): - calme;
il faut étre attentif pour le trouver, il n'y a qu' une plaque sur le porche de l'impasse;
- Verified traveler (8/5): Cute hotel in Paris. - Hotel was on a quiet street in a busy neighborhood in Paris. Enjoyed the stay, the room was clean and comfortable, and it was easy to walk to many places from here.
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- Jean Paul (10/5): - Excellent accueil.
- Gabriela (10/5): Amazing!! - Loved it!!!
- Nicole (10/5): Escapades mère-fille - Petites escapades mère-fille !
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I liked that it was quite central and a short walk away from the Louvre. Good transport links. Near a Main Street but tucked away. The beds could have been more comfortable!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - A little rundown, the room was smelly. breakfast was simple but good.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Sehr zuvorkommend beim Gepäck. Vorzeitige das Zimmer beziehen können. Super ruhige Lage mitten im Zentrum.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was a nice boutique hotel with a great location.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Hotel is located within reasonable distance from the city centre and Paris Nord train station. The room was quite small though well maintained and clean. The amenities are little bit outdated but for the price given cannot complain.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Security was a big concern - There are some important security issues that potential guests need to understand about this hotel. #1. We left our bags at the hotel before checking in. Our bags were merely left in the lobby completely unsecured. #2. Guests of the hotel are not allowed to take the room key out of the hotel. You must leave it at the front desk each time you leave. This was inconvenient and unusual. When entering the hotel, you simply say a room number and the room key is given. No identification was required. You walk in, say "room 301" and you get a key. This was completely insecure, and I was so nervous the entire stay that someone could easily enter my room. I encountered four people working the front desk. One was kind, two were fine and one (working at night) was the most rude and nasty person I have ever encountered at a hotel. The price was low, but it was simply not worth it. I want future potential guests to understand what they will encounter.
- Cheryl (8/5): - Hotel was convenient for the metro and was in a quiet location off the main road. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean and the shower powerful. The breakfast was a basic continental buffet and it could have been improved by providing tea and coffee making facilities in the room.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Not for families during summer - We were on the top floor and there was no AC in our room. The room was like a sauna and the fans given were not affective at all. The mattresses get really hot as well after lying on them for a few min.
The toilet door did not shut properly leaving a large gap, hence there was no privacy.
The lift was small. We could carry only one large suitcase at a time. If you have lots of luggage, be prepared to make multiple trips.
No cold storage, kettle or locker in the room.
The positive aspects were this is in the city centre so plenty of food, transport and shopping options nearby. Staff were also pleasant and friendly.
The discomfort caused with the room outweighed the convenience for us.
- Marcela (4/5): - Ok location and good accessibility to metro but room was not clean. Was disappointed with hotel and room.
- Judith (8/5): - Enjoyed two nights in Paris after a long flight from Australia. Desk staff were very helpful and spoke good English. A good location and nice and quiet.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great no frills hotel. Excellent location near metro and centre of Paris. Friendly staff. Room was clean and secure.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Would definately recommend - The LOCATION of the hotel was GREAT as it was super close to the Metro and lots of resturants!! The hotel was charming and our triple room was very spacious. The staff was super friendly. Only 2 drawbacks was that the room/hall smelled musty and we were either underquoted or overcharged by the arranged taxi ride to the airport by quite a few euros. Would definately stay there again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Overall a very good little hotel. - A little oasis of peace and quiet whilst in the centre of Paris and easy to reach the important sites.
Hotel was really nice and clean. Breakfast area was super cosy but worked. Staff were generally helpful.
There was an extra €20 added to our bill with no explanation. As we settled this on checking out and I was in a hurry for our flight I didn't query this. Coupled with language barriers.
- Somewhat Please (6/5): Nice Location. Fair Price, but... - Let me say there are many great things about this hotel. Location, location, location, is enough to give it a try. Clean. Nice staff, all a plus. As other reviews already note, the hotel has no AC. No problem if you're traveling in winter, as we caught the end of. However, as it was the end, we and likely other guests used the fans that are found in the closet. Only problem was once the hotel guests increased, the power breakers couldn't keep up with a full or near full capacity hotel. 2 back to back days and the power in the hotel continued to go out. The 2nd day it must have flickered some 40 times or more. Not a good thing for a hotel. I'd recommend because of all the good things, but I'd have to put a but clause with my recommendation.
- Bogdan (10/5): nice stay - Excellent location. In the middle of everything but very peacefull. Good clean hotel for a fair price. Near grand bulevards metro station. A lot of restaurants in the area.
- Natalie (8/5): Friendly staff, Good location, few quirks of note - Overall, we had a nice stay. My main concerns about the room (room 512) were that the ceiling was sloped so if you're headed toward the radiator or tv you have to be very careful or you'll hit your head against it. Also, the radiators don't seem to work very well in the room. We had them cranked up all the way and were still cold at night. Lastly, the elevators are tiny so if you have more than one carry-on with you, you'll need to make multiple trips to get your belongings up to your room. The hotel staff were excellent. Very helpful and friendly.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great location - Very convenient location to get to line 9 of the metro. That gives you access to all major touristic spots in Paris.
- William (10/5): Americans in Paris - The hotel staff was beyond accommodating and friendly. The room was very clean and comfortable. We stayed in the top floor( old servant quarters). I would stay here again!
- Andrei (6/5): No frills hotel, great location - Cite Bergere is a good location, close to boulevards, Opera, within a reasonable walk from Palais Royal.
The hotel is basic but quite decent. They did not want to let me in first, saying they were full. I had to ask twice to check the reservations and they finally found me. I was alone in a double room, so size was OK for me. No air conditioning but there are two floor fans in the room - they were both hidden in the wardrobe. Furniture is a bit tired, basic and creaky. Bed was comfortable. IWifi worked well in the room. did not take breakfast (€8 extra) so cannot comment.
Given the location in Paris and the fact I was not going to spend the day in the room, it was good for what I got. I'd rate it "2.5 star". Good for a night or two.
- simin (8/5): Excellent Boutiqe hotel - Lovely boutiqe hotel located near the metro and within easy waliking distance of all Paris main attractions.
The hotel is perfect for a short break or longer stay.
Rooms are small but clean comfortable and adequately fitted out.
We would certainly stay again for our next visit to Paris
Staff were friendly and willing to offer any assistance when approached,
Couldn’t fault the place for the cost.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good location - Hello,
Very nice people at this hotel. Hotel needs a little brightening up.
Very dingy, rugs were old and may have been clean, but looked worn and old
Everything was dark, walls, rugs...
Bathroom was clean and nice. No AC
For the price we paid there, we got a nicer place for a few dollars more.
It's a great location, but needs some TLC. I'm just the type of person that likes a clean fluffy bed and
a nice rug under my feet....nice bathroom too. If you don't care so much, then you should be fine.
Thanks.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Perfectly located hotel - My friend and I stayed here for 3 nights and I really would recommend it. I would certainly consider staying here again as the location is perfect for all of the major sightseeing attractions the city has to offer due to central location. Staff couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating to any requests. They even had a fan in the room, which I feel, cemented the thoughtfulness of the facilities available.
- Kelley (8/5): Handy hotel Great staff - The hotel is in a nifty location, close to Opera and metro stop, Grands Boulevards. The only reason I have given the location a lower rating is because it's down an alley, for lack of a better word, with several other hotels, and, at the entrance, several times odd characters were hanging out. I didn't feel unsafe just cautious. The staff is awesome and friendly. The rooms we had, 2 adjoining, were on the top floor and were a bit shabby, but very clean. The beds could use some memory foam. We often joked that we were going to plank instead of going to bed. Overall, terrific value. Nearby are a couple of fantastic eateries like La Crema. Chartier is also a very cool experience. Around the back is a pastiserie called Hubert. Yum!
- Aoife (8/5): Good hotel in Opera area of Paris - Hotel was in a great location, close to the metro line and lots of restaurants. Also a 20min walk from gard de nord station which has trains to CDG airport. Hotel building had nice features and was clean. Comfy beds and a good breakfast. WiFi was great! Good hotel for 2*, couldn't have asked for more!
- Céline (10/5): - Staff available 24 hours at front desk
Quiet
Friendly staff willing to help
- Verified traveler (8/5): Time worths spending - Everything was good except there is no mirror in the room. You have to go to bathroom every time you want to get ready.
- Verified traveler (10/5): very reasonable price and great location - the location was great, so many good restaurants and bars around,
the staffs were so friendly and I liked the two big windows a lot,
and the bed and shower were perfect and comfortable
- Red (8/5): Nice accessible hotel - Basic hotel but it was clean, has an elevator, bathroom was surprisingly big and very accessible to all Paris landmarks. Staff were accomodating and hospitable. Plus, area of the hotel was fairly quiet.
- jdsheep (8/5): Pretty good bargain in busy "downtown" Paris - Hotel is on an odd lane with some vehicle traffic but perfect for foot traffic. Half a block away from Grand Boulevards metro stop on Lines 8 and 9 it's in a common, un-genteel part of town but seemingly safe and so very walkable to so many of "the downtown sites". Staff were ever-present and welcoming. Room was tired but clean. Linen was tired but clean. Didn't partake of their breakfast but it looked pleantiful and varied. Tons of food locales of evey imaginable cuisine, quality and size is within 3-4 blocks. And the price was extremely reasonable.
