Guest Reviews
- Roberto (10/5): - All staff were amazing, very clean and quiet place. Wr will definitely be back soon !
- Tara (6/5): - Air conditioning problem, Tv problem
- donna-maria (6/5): - The staff was wonderful. The breakfast great. The beach is full of debris and doesn’t look like the picture. We had to drive to get anywhere. There are NO buses. The car and insurance was very expensive and it was too late to cancel when we found out. The lack of public transit and state of the beach should be stated in the description.
- Brianna (4/5): - The food is about 2 out of 10. The property around the hotel was a sight for sore eyes not to mention the pictures that they show are NOTHING like what the beach looks like it is full of nasty trash for miles. Not to mention you can’t swim in the water. When it comes to showering if you like to shower in cold water it is perfect for you, our whole 5 day stay the water for the shower was only warm 2 times, which is horrible when you have little kids they say you have to let it run we’ll we let it run for over 35 minutes and never got warm or even close to hot water. Oh and you lose power in the hotel more times then I can even count. And there is no Wi-Fi so don’t look forward to having that when it’s time to sit in your room. Now onto food every morning the bacon was so raw it was still oinking at us. No one is there if something goes wrong the office was closed early every day we stayed there and there are more then a hand full of stay dogs that can just come into the hotel grounds which is unsafe to say the least. Do your research before staying here because it was a place I wouldn’t return to for the fact that the pictures they were promoting for the property are soooo not accurate
- Maria (10/5): - No había agua caliente para bañarse, pero lo demás estuvo excelente.
- Hector (6/5): - No bath towels available in room.
- Emilio (10/5): - Great disc golf destination
- Devin (2/5): - I booked this hotel because it had ocean view and beach in its description. When I arrived there I couldn’t believe my eyes, it was like the Bates Motel near” the ocean (no beach) NO one was in welcoming area! Next door neighbors had to call for the front desk representative! Then you have to deal with Expedia for hours and hours trying to get a refund! DO YOUR Diligent research before booking?
- Jimmy (10/5): - Great place in your on a budget. Free breakfast ocean views
- Alex (6/5): - Needed more towels and more napkins
- Rodney (8/5): - I like all things!!!!
- Maria Magdalena (8/5): - Just no TV for night time. Overall Good
- lilia (8/5): - Was nice place for what we needed. Only thing that was weird was you had to pay for towe for pool use and coffee maker and no coffee. Also had to pay for ice. Beach was not a swim Mable one but nice they had small bar next door
- Marilyn (10/5): - El servicio de los empleados desde el restaurante hasta el front desk fue espectacular!! Amables , serviciales y atentos. La comidq muy buena y los precios módicos. Todo muy limpio. Recomendado.
- marieeliz (6/5): - N/A
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Meredith at check in was bordering on rude. Didn’t come across as personal, just like she’s someone who hates her job and possibly her life.
But then we didn’t find any WiFi service for our room, despite having seen signs about it in the lobby. So my daughter went back to ask and returned saying that Meredyth was quite rude to my daughter. Made some flimsy excuses, then said she couldn’t do anything about it & told my daughter she could play basketball or volleyball instead.
We almost boycotted the hotel restaurant after our check in experience. But our restaurant service was exceptional (sadly, I’ve already forgotten our waiter’s name). And our check out with Carolina was also very pleasant. Think it was just the one person. Hopefully, she was having a bad day and doesn’t treat all guests that way.
- John, Jr (10/5): - Very friendly staff and fun pool for families.
- Wanda (8/5): - The hotel Lucia was very beautiful, quiet, clean and well air conditioned. The staff, very friendly and helpful. I would love to have seen the beach more inviting as you can not really swim there, The pool was good, plenty of lounge chairs and clean. Other then the beach, every thing else met our needs. No regrets with our decision in booking with Hotel Lucia beach.
- Sandra (6/5): - If you want water front, this is it. From my room 20-25 steps to water. View was beautiful. Staff was great. Specially the man at 5am. Thank you. The property does need major renovations. Water came in from the door and had a leak by the balcony. We didn’t notice and our clothes got wet. Bring your own toiletries as there are none.
Surroundings are not nice, abandoned houses and graffiti.
- Edward (10/5): - We had a wonderful stay
- Ashley Nicole (10/5): - We had an absolute blast here! The staff was awesome and shared the best places to eat during our stay! The beach was beautiful, alot of waves but great for beachcombing! It was lively, loud and an absolute blast! There's a cool bar on the property and the locals just flock to it, I prefer lively over quiet so it was perfect for us, just so much energy and fun during the weekend! Maria hit them hard but I think they've done a great job in restoring it! The few abandoned buildings were sad to see as a reminder of Maria but people pulled up, set up a day tent and hung out there, that was great to see! We'd stay again in a heartbeat!
- Sara (10/5): Wonderful Amazing Peaceful Beautiful - We LOVED Hotel Lucia Beach! Such a quiet peaceful little place on such a beautiful strip of beach. This is not a tourist area and that’s what we were looking for. We had an amazing stay. The staff were wonderful, the ocean was beautiful, and the locals were so refreshing to be around. There was an other restaurant right next to the hotel that had really good food called Coco Mar and the hotel itself had some pretty good food as well! The beach is very natural and gorgeous and we saw a group of locals spend all evening cleaning up the area just because they care about it. If you are looking for a quiet relaxing place to veg out for a few days to unwind this is a wonderful place to go! We were genuinely sad to leave for our next leg of our trip to Culebra/Flamenco Beach. If you have time to explore Yabucoa there is a really cool little spot to check out with a tide pool called Punta Icacos nearby. It shows up on Google maps. It’s a short hike and a climb down a “cliff,” but my 12yr old daughter handled it just fine! Photos included in review are from Lucia Beach in front of the hotel :)
- Patricia (8/5): - Love the property itself. The area immediately around looked in need of rehab. Beyond that, really no complaints.
Great staff. Clean rooms. Hot water. Fresh towels that were sized appropriately. Good breakfast. Nice pool. Liked the on-site bar. Close to the beach (although not the prettiest beach).
- William (10/5): - Cold water, low shower Preasure, No good WiFi connection and no breakfast
- Timothy (8/5): - Staff very nice and attentive.
Beach not quite like the pictures online.
- Edward (10/5): - Personal muy servicial, un paisaje muy bonito. Deben llevar sus propias toallas y secador de pelo. El desayuno si no quieres comer en el Restaurant, puedes llamar y pedirlo to go para la habitación.
- Sonya Lucille (8/5): - The Property was lovely. The rooms where nice as well as the pools. It could use complementary coffee and a economical water dispenser for guests to access while the restaurant is closed.
- Katherine (10/5): - Staff was very friendly, and property had a beautiful view. There was also a nice pool and restaurant on site. My only complaints are that there were a lot of flies in the bathroom of our room, and there were some run down graffitied buildings by the beach that should probably be knocked down as they really take away from the beauty of the place.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good but can improve a lot. - The place is beautiful, nice, quiet and clean. People were friendly, but beds are really uncomfortable. The thing that I liked the least was you had to walk to another hotel for the restaurant. It is not far but one of our days was raining a lot so we went to bed without dinner because we couldn't cross. They don't have room service and they don't have towels for the pool.
- Heather Ann (8/5): - Very remote area but on water! Beautiful sunrise. Stay here for the waterfront and staff friendliness not hotel itself or the amenities.
- Irene (10/5): Hidden gem - Wonderful stay. Friendly staff. Good breakfast.
- Mario (8/5): - Not towels and no serving to cleaning the room only after 5 days they di
- Gloria (10/5): - La estadía estuvo excelente. Lo recomiendo
- Eric (8/5): - .
- Michelle orTy (4/5): Wonderful staff. - I would like to state that the staff is excellent from front desk to the maintenance man. Everyone was so delightful and nice. Unfortunately the property could use a little TLC. There is heavy, rust dripping down the wall which leaves a brown stain in the rooms. The bed was not very comfortable however, it is on, a secluded beach which has a beautiful view. Not sure if the property still had damage from the storm but I did feel safe.
- Emy (10/5): - Property was very clean and the staff members were very helpful. Having breakfast was an awesome bonus! It was delicious!
- Diana (6/5): - There is a public bar in front of the hotel and it was very loud and I did not feel safe walking back to my room after dinner.
- Ron (8/5): - Easy to get to, relatively quiet and secluded beach area, building is old but clean. Scenic views driving SE nearby and good restaurants with local cuisine looking over the water.
- SALVADOR (6/5): - Not good maintenance
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice by-the-beach hotel - Nice by-the-beach hotel. Great for watching sunrises and just spend a slow and recharging day. Somehow isolated (around it there is just another hotel, a restaurant - more like a bar, and a disc-golf field. anything else is by car).
- LYDIA (10/5): - very helpful staff and accommodating
and very clean resort
- Ben (10/5): - This quaint and out of the way hotel was very clean and quiet. While the decor was a bit austere and dated, the cleanliness and privacy was awesome. Well kept inside and out. The beach was nice and I had it to myself. Water is calm on that side of PR so I tried out my first snorkel. Beds were comfortable. They put a stereo outside and turned on music in the morning: I was dreading loud music but instead it was meditative music at the right volume.
The free and great (customized) breakfast was an unexpected bonus.
- Milagros (8/5): - This place is perfect if you want a quiet place to pause and rest about daily routine. If you want distractions, actions, things to do, here is not the place. The beach is not a great beach. It has enough parking and breakfast is include. The room is not so elegance but it is comfortable.
- Oti marie (10/5): - Very nice
- Shaymaris (10/5): - Very relaxing
- Caroline Isabelle (6/5): - The hotel is perfect in terms of a location on a (non swimmable) beach. Now we picked this hotel because it was listed as quiet here is a disclaimer according to an evening staff member there is a “policy” of blaring music from 9am-9pm. We asked if it could be turned down so we could listen to the waves etc and we were told no. The rooms are good for what you need in a vacation: bed, bathroom, microwave, refrigerator. The surrounding area is abandoned and neglected. But this won’t effect the beauty of the area. The hurricanes clearly effected this area and they have not been able to get to it yet. We had a staff member in the morning who was lovely and polite. Would we return… well if the music policy changed then yes if not then no.
- Erika (10/5): - .
- Margaret (10/5): - I enjoyed how quiet it was on the hotel property and we had delicious food and drinks. The pools were wonderful and the room was very nice and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful.
- Ivelisse (10/5): - Quiet place
- Angela (10/5): - Love room setup ,very clean ,staff was friendly and helpfiul, breakfast was very good ,servers were best
- Xylia (10/5): - The staff was wonderful! Room was spacious and clean. I liked the pools and the breakfast that was included was great. Eggs, potatoes, bacon, toast, coffee, juice. You had other options too! I would stay again.
- Marta (10/5): - I enjoyed the fact that it was away from the roads but easy enough to get to local eateries. The tucked away appearance was cool and worth the return.
- ELYDIAN (10/5): - Good
- Sammy (10/5): - very clean, and nice pool
- Crystal (8/5): - Overall, I enjoyed my brief stay here. The reception attendants were very friendly and helpful. However, the waitstaff could use reminders on how to make sure guests feel welcome. The restaurant on location was convenient. The room was spacious and served the purpose. The 2nd floor provides a peripheral ocean view. If they could only do something about the birds, or at least occasionally clean the balconies. Every time I walked onto the balcony I was stepping in old dried bird poop that would make its way back into the room.
- Alexander (10/5): - The hotel is practically on the beach. Very helpful staff. Good breakfast. Depending on weather condition the beach can be with algae. Good to call hotel in advance.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Perfect - Very peaceful place. Employees very attentive.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Comfortable for the price. Not fancy but a nice place. Good breakfast. Friendly receptionist.
- Victoria Martinez (10/5): - I like to see the beach.
- Randolph (10/5): Nice and quiet great Beach - Had a wonderful stay here I wish directions for check-in were clear as we had to go from one side to the other side and then back the restaurant was amazing the manager jaun very friendly and accommodating.
Our waitress Mara was amazing highly recommend you ask for her if you stay here very knowledgeable about the area very friendly.
The beach here was nice wish it was raped a little more but the water's in the beach in it self were clean.
- Esthela (8/5): - It was an overall nice property for the cost. It was literally 100 steps from the shore, facing the Atlantic Ocean. Must access other parts of the property through the beach. This hotel is part of a larger one which shares amenities like the adult pool, dining area and reception after hours. One down side is that the power went out a couple of times during our stay, affecting out refrigerated food. All in all, place is clean, cozy and quiet. Each room comes with a microwave and mini fridge. Linens must be reused through the entire stay and they have toiletries for purchase. There's also a bar 3 minutes walking down the beach with great drinks and fritters. Would stay again.
- Ermelinda (10/5): - Nice
- Laura (6/5): - No power when we arrived. Staff had me sign oaper that there would be no refund for early checkout Before telling me there was no power.
- JOSEPH (8/5): - Arrived on Sun to an SUV with a 500 watt sound system blasting music. By 7:30 all was quiet except for the tree frogs and the surf.
The room was very comfortable and the staff was wonderful.
- Josh (8/5): - Really nice place to stay. My wife and I stayed for four nights and thoroughly enjoyed. Very quiet, well maintained and clean. Great views of the water and surrounding structures. Highly recommend!!
- Paula (10/5): Oceanfront getaway - Very nice place right in front of the ocean. Not as big as the photo suggests, but still very nice. Breakfast was great also!
- Brenda (8/5): Review of Lucia Beach Hotel - Fine hotel .... clean and comfortable. Right on the beach .... very beautiful with great ocean breeze. Glad we stopped in Yabcoa ... alittle off the "beatin path" but worth it
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great experience, very nice staff, comfortable room, very beautiful view just as described will be staying in this hotel again.
- Waldemar (10/5): - No Hot Water and Weak Wi Fi
- Xiomara (10/5): - El área de afuera deben limpiarla, tener plantas y sillitas , algo bonito para tener un ambiente acogedor y una vista agradable
- Maria (10/5): - Friendly staff, room was clean and check in was simple.
- Dimarie (10/5): - It’s simple but cozy.
- Blanca (8/5): - Check-in was good, room tv didn't work, maintenance worker verified and said we could move to room aside, we went out for dinner and had to wait too long for the new room key. Only one employee at frontdesk for both hotel and parador...that should be worked out.
- Aracelis (2/5): - The AC was great but the rooms were disgusting, the beds had worms. The walls and ceilings were brown and water damage. No Wi-Fi or internet.
The staff were very friendly and prompt when you asked for something. It was awesome seeing family everyday
- Zulena (2/5): - We booked to stayed from August 12-14, 2022. At our arrival at 8:00 pm, we found our room with mold in the walls, ceiling and lamps, even the air had a moldy odor. Unfortunately, there was a water leak in the bathroom ceiling, the room does not have ventilation (no windows, only a front door), and no air extractor. We thought this could be the reason for the room's unhealthy conditions. We couldn't stay there with our kids, and upon asking for a refund, they transferred us to another hotel.
- Joselyn (6/5): - Property was beautiful. Restaurant staff was very welcoming and attentive to everyone's needs. Front desk not as welcoming. Strong odor coming from beach area. Beach is not safe to swim due to the strong waves. Food was great!
- rabouly66 (2/5): Not user friendly - I stayed in 2006, it was totally different. Now, there is a Coffee maker but u need to buy the Coffee, buy pool towels, there is NO Wifi, it is so slow thar it's non existent. There is no room cleanning while you stay, water preasure is really low and water drupped fron a light ficture just above the shower. , there is no place for toiletries, no closet. There is no restaurant, it is in another hotel nearby, everything is there, restaurant, bar, full working front desk. U need water? Go to the other hotel. If u are handicapped, no ramp between hotels, to get to restaurant and front desk in the other hotel you have to go up 2 step, cross a basketball court, go by the pool that is packed with their guests, through the lobby and then u arrive. They are all inclusive but if u buy through another booking site u only get free breakfast. There is no room service in Lucía Beach. Again, they ar not handicapped ready, so be prepared if u have any disability. The beach is not a swimming beach and itnis full of kelp and sea weed. This was not so on 2006, instead of getting better, it's worse. The new owner is money making focus even if it means sacrificing customer service. The staff is friendly but they can't do anything, the owner is the overlord. Sorry, the structure is beautiful, if they went back in time and treted customer s better they would be 5 star, I wouldnt give them 2stars. It has a lot of potential but... money talks,, sorry for those who loved it,, I had a very rough time and they did nothing to make the stay better...
- dreambuildertravel (4/5): What Happend To The Room Service??? - I am the owner of Dreambuilder Travel. I decided to visit this place to see if it would be a place I would refer new customers to. The location was very cozy, the pool very nice, the restaurant servers were very nice...BUT....I stayed there with my girlfriend from 17 June to 27 June 2022 and they never changed out our bath towels, never changed our bed sheets, or cleaned the room at all. There was a coffee maker in the room (COFFEE NOT INCLUDED) (NO FILTER). During 3 rain storms the room leaked in 3 places. PLUS....the beach bar nearby was VERY LOUD UNTIL 1-2 am on the weekends. The beach looks so beautiful but you won't be swimming there....too dirty with seaweed. So if you plan on going there, prepare to travel to cleaner beaches, and prepare to clean your own room.
- Billy (2/5): - Poor costumer service
- Diane (10/5): - The property itself is simple and seems to be still in a state of recovery, but we had the absolute best room! Standing on our balcony, we had the most amazing view of the ocean crashing and the palm trees swaying. We left our doors open at night so we could just hear the sound of the Sea. Absolutely amazing surroundings. The room was comfortable. We had plenty of hot water. Not much around at night time so be prepared to just relax enjoy the surroundings and each other.
- Diane (10/5): - Such a beautiful and unique property! Nothing fancy, no frills but amazing access to beach, just steps away. Unique pool that we never used because the beach was visible from our balcony and so close! Very neighborhood feel with locals working out and walking their dogs. We loved our stay. Parked easily in the street. Would definitely go back. Staff was helpful and accommodating.
- Ines (2/5): - The place is nothing like it show in the picture you guys should not even been selling this called hotel at the beach, lol at the beach you get there and is just the sea where you can’t even wet your feet is not a swimming place the picture is nothing like it is you get there and is houses falling apart all around the room was dirty to the point that you can’t even walk with out shoes at the place, the pool is so nasty looking that nobody goes in , and they tell you when you get there that if you decide to leave your money will not be returned so you’re force to stay there, they only give you 2 towels for the week and if you need an iron you need to ask at the office and sign a paper it was a nightmare and I could keep on going because I feel like they stole my money.
- Alyssa (10/5): - Long stretch of beach to walk. Pool area very nice. Water pressure very low. Trash on beach
- Albert (10/5): Great for families with small children. - Way off the beaten path, but perfect for a family getaway from San Juan. The beach is beautiful but the surf rough for little kids. Fortunately the pool is lovely and kid friendly. The rooms are large, comfortable but nothing fancy. The staff was great. I couldn't in the room access WiFi so I went to the office and worked from there.
The restaurant was next door in the sister hotel. Food was excellent as was the service. The breakfast was fantastic, especially as it was included!!!
- Luis (2/5): Poot service. - Pobre servicio. Se estaba filtrando el agua en el techo y se estaba mojando el cuarto durante la noche. Camas incómodas, no había shampoo ni acondicionador cuando decía q era parte.
- MONA (8/5): - It was quiet. Had hoped for more at beach.
- Halyna (8/5): - When we arrived they did not see our Expedia reservation and since it was after 10 pm ( check in in this hotel should be done till 10 pm) we got room in nearest hotel building (not that one we originally booked).
The rest was good: easy but clean room, nice stuff, good breakfast, clean pool and calm beach area to walk and enjoy.
- Nilsa (10/5): - Excelent everyvthings.
- Rose (10/5): - I have stayed here for many many years, the same problem every time NO HOT WATER EVER, What's the matter,
I know the manager never takes a SHOWER in the hotel,
PLEASE FIX IT.
- Jorge A (10/5): - Excellent place...
- Genesis (4/5): worst hotel i ever been to - didnt look like nothing in the pictures, the beach stinks so bad , beach is black and impossible to go into; it gets you nauseous. The pool is tiny. Service was ok but they dont check on you at all. Overall i wont be coming back to this hotel.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very close to a nice beach, grounds were nice, secluded area.
- Matthew (6/5): Where's the entrance? - Beautiful grounds, no hot water and awkward entrance. Not sure if they are still recovering from the hurricanes but they didn't communicate any of this before hand. No WiFi in the room. Great pool and ten steps from the ocean and a beach for beach combing. Had us wear wrist bands as some services are at adjacent resort, 100 feet away.
- Miguel (10/5): - Offered plan was very competitive. Food quality in the facility's restaurant is excellent. There are still some minor details from Hurricane Maria missing to be fixed but doesn't affect services.
- Reina (10/5): Estadia de ensueño - El desayuno fue delicios, la estadia fue excelente. El personal siempre atento y muy amable. Tuvimos una despedida de año épica.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - No parking near front door. "Eco-friendly" lamps way too dim to read books, etc. or to write postcards. No washcloth provided - clerk said "You can buy one, though." On-property restaurant was fine.
- Cassie (2/5): - Pictures looked way better than the actual property.
