- Patrick (10/5): - Huts perfect, nice interiors and furnishings great shower and bed. Really nice seating area and cooking facilities if you wanted to cook there. Nice that coffee and tea supplied as we were only staying one night but would have liked to have stayed longer.
- Spencer (8/5): -
- Angela (10/5): -
- Brent (8/5): - Epic location and layout, the sunset was amazing and doggo friendly
- Ellie (10/5): - Comfortable, have everything you need. Lovely setting
- Michael (10/5): -
- Sarah (10/5): Beautiful - Delightful space, gorgeous bedding, comfortable bed, a view of the nighttime stars, local coffee, excellent shared facilities ✨🫶.
- Natasha (8/5): Most enjoyable - The early morning light. Shades over the ceiling windows would nice.
- Birgit (10/5): Perfect little place to stay - a mix between glamping and a resort. - Such an adorable place! I loved everything about it. Much cuter than in the pictures, great facilities, perfectly clean and the Sauna was amazing too.
- Sue (10/5): Exceptional - can't wait to stay again! - I liked EVERYTHING; from the beautifully appointed en suite hut, to the outdoor bath (whiich I made use of in the frost!), to the delightful set up in the kitchen, the comfy wee lounge/library to the fabulous fire pit complete with fairy lights. I really appreciated the wee walk to the hut too so there was no vehicle noise.
- Samuel (10/5): - beautiful and peaceful, would be incredible for accommodation at a wedding as is intended, comfortable and quiet.
- Ed (10/5): - We travelled with our dog, and it's always nice to find a great spot which is dog friendly. Rough island was just a few hundred meters down the road, which is a great off-lead dog walking area.
It was very peaceful, with expansive views out to the ranges on each side; a great sense of space.
It was very easy to stay or come and go.
- Sandra (10/5): -
- Angela (10/5): - Stunning property. The outlook was beautiful and peaceful with an abundance of bird life.
The shared areas and the breakfast provided were a great addition. We loved it! It was perfect for us. Nothing
- Fiona (10/5): - Loved the rooms and the outside seating area with shared kitchen. Very qwerky and just perfect. 0
- Caitlin (10/5): Loved the camping vibe but with the cleanliness and comfort! - Huts were very clean and comfortable. Loved having bug screens on the windows so we could keep the windows open without worrying about bugs coming in. Huts are nicely spaced apart to keep privacy and the views were lovely!
- Christoph (9/5): Ruhig und gemütlich - Late Check-In ohne Probleme und ohne Personal möglich.
- Vivienne (9/5): - Cute huts set in well maintained gardens. Bedroom not big but comfortable. Shower room clean and modern. Fridge and kettle. Close by there was a communal kitchen including fresh bread and milk. Also a separate communal living area, outdoor bbq, deckchairs and a sauna. Short distance from beach, lovely walks and Mapua Wharf. No hairdryer.
- Angela (10/5): Perfect this is my go to accommodation when I visit Nelson for work I highly recommend staying at th - I didn't have breakfast at the lodge but they did have a nice array of fresh breads I have no comment
- Laura Carmela (9/5): -
- Richard (7/5): Good. - Neat, tidy and cosy.
Everything was ready for us to move straight in, so no reception or other staff needed. Too tiny for big people.
No milk in hut to go with the provided teas and coffee. Consider long-life capsules.
Provide instructions how to turn on TV
The hole in the shower door sprays water into the bathroom.
- Deborah (9/5): - The location and surroundings are great, the check in and out are super easy. Room and ensuite a little small for us
- crimp (10/5): absolutely total relaxation.. - the communal kitchen and milk bread spreads butter tea coffee was a big bonus starting with breakfast is a must and usually it's the one meal that we miss while on holiday but with it available it was like being at home fantastic plus outdoor shower and bath oh my gosh we want more we have made this our #1 get away spot if we need a few days to relax well done hosts. the price we thought was a little steep, we stayed at kimi-ora in kaiteriteri this was exactly the same price but it is a resort and has alot more facilities plus a buffet breaky and a ensuit with a huge room sea views and a balcony..maybe around the $180-$200 mark would have suited the venue better we paid $265 per night so $530 all up(2nights)
- KatieKai (10/5): A lovely peaceful spot. - This accommodation is situated in a lovely peaceful spot with beautiful plantings. The room was quaint, cosy & comfortable. The staff were discrete but easy to contact. Little extras were provided which made it an enjoyable stay. The shared kitchen & lounge room were inviting. A great place to relax or spend time together with family & friends.
- clifford (10/5): - Everything Nothing
- Tahnee (10/5): -
- vincent (9/5): - Nice set up and calm. Toilets outside.
- Eve (10/5): - Love that it's pet friendly and rural.
Could do with a curtain over the window above the TV....
The fresh bread was divine
- Rosario (10/5): Amazing space! - We liked the location, the open space was fantastic for our dog! The whole place was very cute and relaxing
- Elena (10/5): -
- Oh (8/5): Great experience! - The tranquility and cleanliness of the room. The carpark to the hut it’s a short distance as it was raining throughout the stay. It’s quite dark to move around at night as there is minimal lamps around
- Karla (10/5): A peaceful retreat - The huts were so cute and cosy, with the luxury of an electric blanket, heater, small fridge, kettle. Loved the pink accessories to the hut. Shower gel etc were supplied. I had my first ever outdoor bath, absolutely bliss, followed by a sauna. Fabulous place to get away either on your own or as a couple. Plenty of walks to be had, or stay on the grounds and chill with a G n T and a book like I did.
- Lynda (10/5): - Beautiful place, loved the outside bath. Early June and it was so tranquil under the stars sitting in a hot bath. Great seeing all the little rabbits.
- Sharyn (6/5): - Unit was small but adequate, a bit pricey for what we got. Bread not replaced each day not spreads, TV does not work, internet unreliable. Could do with toilet paper holder, towels should have been replaced every couple of days or at least give us a area to replace ourselves we stayed 6, rubbish needed to be emptied or give us liners to remove ourselves each day.
- Mimi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mcsporran (10/5): Blissful and relaxing. - It was just what I had hoped. Boutique and unique!
- Catherine (10/5): - What a wonderful property! We rented the one bedroom “hut” with a private bath. The little hut was adorable, very clean and nicely outfitted. The grounds were amazing, with a well stocked shared kitchen, cute little living area, washing machine and open air drying area and lots of rabbits too! Fellow residents were a wonderful bunch and we enjoyed meeting everyone. You can also rent ebikes on site and they gave us an amazing discount on really high quality bikes. There is a trail system connected to the property. A wonderful beach at Rabbit island is a twenty minute ride or a 10 minute drive away. This place would also be an incredible site for a wedding or a corporate retreat. (My understanding is that the main house is rentable too and there are big tents already set up on the property.) We are already plotting a return to our hut!
- Robert (10/5): Awesome Stay - Awesome stay. So peaceful. Easy to find off the Route 6 to Motueka from Richmond so perfect if you are driving North West to Nelson and then onto Picton. Rabbit Island beach is at the end of the road.
- Mike (8/5): Clean and comfortable and perfect for my requirements - I was glad to get the room as Nelson accomadation was full up N/a
- Martin (9/5): Wish it had been for longer - Beautiful, friendly, relaxing. Nowhere to buy food on site so had to drive 15 minutes to the nearest shop.
- S (10/5): - lovely quiet accommodation in rural setting. Lots of facilities and nicely fitted out.
- Ryan (10/5): Exceptional - Very quiet and peaceful location with only 6 huts made for a relaxing environment. It was the perfect escape from the busy towns at the end of the day, while being only about 20 minutes away from Nelson. The huts are such a cool concept, beats a hotel room any day of the week!
- Tremaine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, very friendly staff. Would definitely recommend.
- Riley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Pye (10/5): Fabulous! We booked an hour before arrived and everything was super easy + communication was great. Such a fun place wit -
- Matthew (8/5): - Quiet and nice place to stay. We had an issue with a window screen in our place that let 100s of gnats in which was disgusting to deal with. Otherwise the place was quiet and scenic. Just a little more rustic than we had wanted.
- Daniel (8/5): Very good - Stunning peaceful location
Well equipped kitchen and lounge area
outdoor bath perfect for watching stars overpriced
hutches had lots of windows without coverings so very light very early in morning
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Ideal for what we needed, cute lil place, everything was easy with thoughtful touches.
- Ms (8/5): Don't miss out on this little part of paradise! - so peacefully and was there on a stormy night, and it was amazing 👏 🤩
the shower is amazing !! and the bed was so comfortable..the staff were very friendly and prompt with replying ..Even let me have an early check inn...loved this place you should experience it all .... If I really had to pick one thing, it would be to replace the outdoor furnishings with newly upgraded outdoor furniture..

Lovely views, very quiet and peaceful . And great being dog friendly .
- Alanah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lianne (10/5): Exceptional - Setting
- Aimee (8/5): Very good -
- Glenys (8/5): Great retreat close to Rabbit Island good for walks and relaxation - Location good facilities
Shower,
comfortable bed,
good bkfst supplied in the shared kitchen Need more hanging space in shower for towels / toiletry bag
Possible luggage rack under the hanging rack by the door to have your bags off the floor
We had very wet weather so found we couldn’t use the veranda seating /space which would have given us more space but that is no fault of the owners
Towels stayed damp would have been nice to have them changed
- Sarah (10/5): We had a wonderful night at the Rabbit Island Huts! Soaking under the stars was a perfect way to finish a busy road road - Peaceful, relaxing and well equipped.
I especially liked the outdoor bath, sadly we didn’t have time to use the sauna but this is a available for guests to use! I can’t think of a anything I didn’t like, apart from not wanting to leave!
- Sue (8/5): Great experience - It was unique, we scored the tent. Nothing

- Todd (10/5): We lucky ended up staying here. We decided to chance it and were so glad that we did. It was a great secluded location - The property is in a great secluded location. With great comfortable furnishings. It’s the perfect quiet get away location.
- Grace (10/5): The hut was a great escape from reality, beautiful spot to relax and unwind. - The hut was easy to find. I liked the layout , the style of hut , the outdoor bath and sauna was a plus. Enjoyed meeting tourists in NZ and giving them recommendations. The night we stay it was a colder night and there wasn’t a spare blanket in the hut which would’ve been nice to have.
- Natasha (10/5): The glamping tent was awesome. Secluded spot, away from the rest of the accomodation. The view was amazing! We would de - The glamping tent was awesome. Secluded spot, away from the rest of the accomodation. The view was amazing!
We would definitely stay here again!
- William (10/5): - Just a really cool place really
- Power (9/5): Superb -
- Deborah (9/5): Superb -
- Adam (10/5): - This is a gorgeous place - stunningly beautiful location, and the huts are designed, built and furbished to an extremely high standard. The sauna with a view, and the outdoor bath (for nighttime stargazing, in our case) were both very special experiences. The shared kitchen.is generously equipped. The little reading caravan is fabulous. We love the whole vibe of this place, and will return if we can.
- Pauline (10/5): Exceptional - Such a wonderful concept. The beautifully added touches of the kitchen hut, the outdoor bath, sauna, library etc were just so lovely, I wish we were able to stay longer so we could appreciate them a little more.
- Hannah (10/5): - Beautiful little cabin in a quiet and wonderfully maintained bit of land. Amazing dark sky view of the Milky Way. A perfect and relaxing stop. We wish we had spent more time there and if we ever make it back to NewZealand we will make a sure we stop over again.
- Juan (10/5): nature escape- definitely coming back! - beautiful

- Hemisha (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful location, lovely touches to the room, great facilities. Kitchen was very well stocked. Perfect stay!
- Elena (10/5): Exceptional -
- Liz (8/5): Loved it. Can’t wait to come back! - Loved the location, the privacy, the setup and the concept. We had the glamping tent and it was warm, cozy and everything needed. I was a little worried about the ‘shared bathroom’ situation but the bathrooms were lovely. No cubical showers - each bathroom was self contained and you only share them with 4 other cabins so it’s fine. There’s 3 toilets, 2 bathrooms and an outdoor shower and bath to share so it’s not like it’s an issue.
- Bryce (8/5): - A small cabin in a big valley surrounded by vineyards. The setup was lovely and we had a great night sleep. You did have to walk to the shared bathrooms which wasn't convenient, but if you want a regular hotel experience then go stay in a regular hotel. The surrounding area was very peaceful, and there were some nice walks and wineries nearby. We found some dead ants in our cabin, but once we cleared those out, we had no other issues
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Très belle expérience de Glamping.
- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- Karen (9/5): Rabbit island huts - Unique and fun Very light in rooms for sleeping
- Tim (10/5): Simply stunning - One of the best places we have stayed in New Zealand Nothing
- Chelsea (10/5): Exceptional - Everything, the atmosphere, location and scenery.
- Mike (9/5): Generous facilities. Highly recommend. - I thought the whole place had a generous and trusting feel about it.
It was casual and easy.
The breakfast left was awesome.
Top marks guys! There was a funny dripping noise after the rain down one of the downpipes. Even after the rain had stopped for quite some time. It was a real shame as the place was otherwise incredibly peaceful.
- Isle (9/5): Superb -
- Stewart (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lisa (10/5): magical getaway, wished it was longer - The property was immaculate, i loved the outdoor bath / shower and the sauna was fantastic. It was awesome, nothing i didnt like.

- Stacey (10/5): Special piece of paradi - Just magical. Loved everything about this place. Highly recommended. Pillows feather to firm.
- Smadar (8/5): Very good -
- Ilchenko (8/5): lovely stay! - beautiful location, very cute huts, the sauna was amazing! the hut we booked said ‘standard hut with a private bath tub’ which actually turned out to be a shared shower and bath tub. when you read the description it actually does say that it is shared, but I missed that as I just read the heading. Not a big deal and we had a lovely stay but I feel like the heading is a bit misleading.
- Robb (8/5): Very good -
