Guest Reviews
- Leifheit (10/5): -
- James (6/5): Nice, secluded cabin in the Black Hills - We enjoyed our stay at the Papoose. Pat (the owner) was great with her communication. Our biggest objection to the cabin is the sleeping arrangements in the loft and the bathroom on the main level. We were aware of this when we booked but, being older, we didn't appreciate what a problem this presented for us at night.
- Ronald (8/5): Fun and relaxing - Quietness Wireless connection
- Denise (9/5): Really cozy cabin and close to lots of great places to visit. - N/A Could have used an additional fan. Water in bathroom really strong sulpher smell.
- Lynda (9/5): If you’re looking for Relaxation, quiet, beautiful scenery then stay here. - Remote. Seeing wildlife. Quiet. Was great watching the storms pass over. Full kitchen.
The owners are super nice. This is a double sword question. Cabin has no internet, no TV stations but does have a radio w/ 1 or 2 stations. Even though there was no TV or internet it was great to disconnect ourselves from those for awhile. We did get phone service when we went to town. Check our messages and e-mail. Then we continued our day of fun.
Parking a 16’ cargo trailer was a little bit difficult but it can be done.
- Luis (9/5): One way to disconnect from everything - The peace and quiet Not a thing
- Jéssica (10/5): Cozy contact with nature - It was my second time there. Likewise the first time, it was very welcoming and cozy. The proximity with nature was exceptional. We get to see some deer walking around 😊 The only inconvenience was the lack of internet connection, that makes difficult to drive around without gps. but it is also a good thing if you want to disconnect.
- Theresa (9/5): Superb - Solitude Loved it all
- Tracey (10/5): - It was the best stay I have ever had in a cabin, and I have been in many throughout my life. I had such a relaxing and peaceful time that I didn't want to leave. I had everything I needed and more. The hosts were so kind and left the lights on when I arrived late. Great stay.
- Dan (10/5): - My family has always wanted to stay in a cabin. This trip was more than expected. We all had a wonderful time and will come back in the future.
- PaulG (10/5): - Our family really enjoyed our stay here. There is no WiFi or cell service (AT&T) so it gave us a chance to tech detox for a week and it was really nice. The cabin itself is very private and just outside of town so trips in for eating or activities were easy. This was a nice change from a regular hotel option where you always hear neighbors. It was secluded and private and had plenty of space to move around. It was a great cabin experience! We’d easily stay here again next time back to SD!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was a great experience for our family to stay In a cabin with no internet and TV but if you were to ask my kids they would disagree about no internet and TV big get the seemed to survive.
- Steph (10/5): Close to Custer, SD - Staying at the Papoose was the icing on the cake for our 2016 Black Hills vacation! One morning while we were making breakfast we saw three fawns out our kitchen window. I would highly recommend the cabin!
