Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (6/5): First Ever Homestay Unremarkable - Large room with three separate beds but non-functional. Yes, I understand that they have a room available not meant to be a hotel room, but why not rent out to make money. AC and WiFi non functional. Dark closed room. Couldn’t open windows. Needed to keep lights on. Dirty unusable wooden cabinet with age-old newspapers strewn as shelf liner. Folks, clean up the cabinet, paint and use store bought regular shelf liner but never those dirty newspapers. No place to put luggage even for one person. For a three-night stay, provided three packets of coffee, no spoons/stirrer, two water bottles, three towels, and then the owners disappeared on the second. No way to contact to have the issues fixed. Seems like the glowing reviews by foreigners are results of just a brief opportunity to meet ‘some’ or ‘any’ local’ despite the inconveniences, and that’s understood. It’s like going to a jungle safari despite the mosquitoes, insects, and threat from wild animals. Anyhow, not impressed.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Friendly and helpful. Clean quiet place - It was great staying in a lazar house.
- Nayak (6/5): - It was not so good though the hosts are pleasing. Location is ok and personally felt it may not be value for money taking into account the plenty of better home stays available abundantly.
- Sabita (8/5): - I liked the room i was given and that the manager was gracious enough to satisfy personal requests for room cleaning, etc even though they were hard-pressed for time and energy due to some contingencies during my visit
- laurani (10/5): - I stayed here in March as a female solo traveler on a first time trip to India. I found the room to be clean, the hosts wonderful and warm, including their daughter, Anju, and the area convenient and safe to walk. I loved that I had hot water here - not always the case in some of the other Homestays.
- Deena (8/5): Clean homestay in a central location - Simple but clean accommodation in an excellent location. Joy and Jaycee were very friendly and helpful. I recommend this homestay.
- Lauren (10/5): - We had such a great stay here & strongly recommended :)
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great place to stay while you visit Kochi as it is in a good location close to the fishing nets/beach, restaurants and spice markets.
Rooms are clean and have good shower facilities and the breakfast provided was excellent with plenty of good food (continental or Keralan) available. There was always more food than I could eat so I was never left hungry :o)
We stayed here on arrival in Kochi and again before we left as we liked it so much. Definitely would recommend to people who have kids aswell because not only are there other children around to play with but also the homestay is located away from the road so there isn't much traffic.
- Priss (10/5): Lovely home stay with very obliging hosts! - This is a well situated place within walking distance to most Fort Cochin tourist spots. Hosts could not be more helpful with suggestions of best places to eat locally and promptly booking any tours/trips we wanted to go on. Lovely cooked breakfast every morning - we asked for 'Indian style' breakfasts and we got something different every morning for the two weeks we were there. Jaycee is a very good cook! We had the privilege of being invited to join with them for the family's Onam feast - it was delicious! Joy worked hard at keeping our rooms clean, and there were plenty of towels supplied. A nice place to home stay. Thank you both!
- Lucia (10/5): Homestay in peaceful, leafy location - Handy for the hub of Fort Cochi, I found this homestay a welcome oasis while only a short stroll from the city bustle. My room was simple, very clean with comfy bed and good pillows and the air con was very quiet, which was a blessing. Lovely, freshly cooked food and kind hosts made this one of my nicest stays in India
- David (10/5): Wonderful home stay in excellent location. - Very clean room and very comfortable for three. Great breakfast and able to eat in family dinning room. Family extremely helpful with information, organising taxi and tuk-tuks, houseboats and suggesting restaurant. Overall very pleasant stay.
- mark (8/5): Firt port of call in Kerala - Great family run homestay. Good location, quite but close to main sites. Rooms are clean & spacious. Lovely breakfast with family also. Would highly recommend.
- Gillian (8/5): Lovely family run Residency - A very warm welcome from Jaicy and her family, always smiling and helpful. location was very good, close to the sea and all the many shopping/market areas. The room was clean, bed was comfortable....we had a balcony which was nice. The area was residential with no cars passing, so it was very quiet for sleeping. Air-con worked well.
- Claire (10/5): Wonderful homestay in Fort Kochi - Amazing homestay, lovely family, great room, great location in Fort Kochi. Would stay again and recommend.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very good experience, location perfect as very close to all the Kochi Biennale events (which was my purpose for the visit). Room was clean and well maintained. Joy was very helpful in helping me find my way around and suggesting events, tourist activities and more. And yummy breakfast! Thank you!
- John (10/5): Exceptional stay. - We spent 13 nights here. Exceptional hospitality, nothing was too much trouble. Fabulous home cooked breakfast with Indian & Western choices. Great location in a very quiet residential street yet close to the main areas of interest & restaurants.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent home stay - I would highly recommend this homestay.
The family were absolutely delightful and made you feel part of the family. It was exceptionally clean, rooms were cleaned and new bedding every three days.
Breakfast was included , and the location amazing.
I really cannot fault this beautiful homely homestay, and would defiantly stay there again, when visiting Fort Cochin. We had 10 nights there.
