Guest Reviews
- Ulrike (6/5): -
- Shirley (1/5): - Room was smelly didn’t even stay Didn’t spend the night as room was stinky
- Carol (5/5): Fair and price reflects it - liked you could walk right outside from your room
- Philip (8/5): - A comfortable and convenient overnight stop in Kamloops. Good value
- thomas (8/5): - was close to everything
- ERIKA MARIEL (6/5): - Basic hotel to stay only for some hours during the day
- Bakker (10/5): -
- Brenda (8/5): - I enjoyed the lovely flowers around the property. My suite was quite dated and could use some new light fixtures and a bit sprucing up. However the bed was comfortable and everything seemed clean.
- Margaret (9/5): Outdated but comfortable for the price point. - Honestly for the price it was a good place to rest your head. Close to fast food, gas and the TransCanada Hwy. Yes it's dated and you need to bring extras like a hair dryer but that's about it.
- Jack (4/5): - Only good about this place is it is convenient to get to, was dirty, bathroom was unfinished, should be $39 a night
- Laurence (8/5): - Good
- Ken (7/5): -
- Scott (6/5): - The staff were very helpful.
- Khan (10/5): - I've already reviewed this place. Just find the other one. L O L. Everything was good. Nothing bad to report.
- Khan (10/5): - I liked quite a lot of things.
The motel's in a nice quiet place outside of town. It was peaceful.
Also, quite a few food places and gas stations/convenience stores within a 5 minute walking distance.
P.S. Actually stayed here twice. First, on my way to Victoria, then on my way back to Calgary. I couldn't figure out how to get the TV to work, but not a big deal. I had my laptop with me so I Watched movies on that.
- Barrie (10/5): - Clean building, Friendly Staff, Easy check in process, Professional Staff, Wifi was fast, Tv had lots channels, Affordable, Mc Donald's next door, complementary coffee
- Clint (10/5): - Loved everything
- Marina (4/5): - good place
- Reyburn (8/5): - Beds are comfortable.
Staff very nice. Needs hair dryer,
Needs a place to hang clothes in bathroom.
Needs towel racks in bathroom.
- Simon (8/5): -
- David (3/5): Poor - On main highway so easy to find. Restaurants close. It's run down. Homeless use the laundry facilities. There are nicer and better condition hotels right beside this one. Would choose one of them next time.
- Ethel (8/5): - Didnt require service as gone most of time.
Only problem was no tub mat. The tub was very slippery. Used a hand towel until we went to dollarama to get a mat, then good
- James (10/5): - Convenient, quiet property, ideal stop when travelling. Close conveniences for a quick meal and gas. Easy access to start the next leg of your journey.
- Sandesh (10/5): - Awesome
- Joy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robert (6/5): - It was clean and comfortable.
If trains interrupt your sleep, find accommodation further from the tracks. Bathtub was slippery when having a shower.
- Okubamaryam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joseph (7/5): Good -
- Brandon (10/5): - Quite
- Catherine (5/5): Passable -
- Nguyen (10/5): - Good place!
- Jay (5/5): Passable -
- Mowla (7/5): Good -
- David (10/5): - Fast check in, everything works. Clean, convenient.
- Xubo (2/5): - The room smells so bad that I only slept for about two hours all night
- Kory (8/5): On the rise - The bathroom looked recently updated and was very clean. The TV was easy to use. It was really quiet. I didn’t hear any external noise. The shower was tall enough for me (191cm/6’3”) Not much of a view. Some furniture pieces were outdated or falling apart.
- Amanda (5/5): Wouldn’t stay there again. - Lots of parking & straight off the highway. The room stunk of smoke as soon as I opened the door. I had the window open but then just had a lot of road noise. The room could do with a good clean especially under the window. TV didn’t work properly.
- Scott (4/5): - The bed slanted to the one side, the bathroom door was starting to come off the hinges, the soap didn't lather up, couldn't get cold water only hot, the stairs to the second floor need to be redone. Not worth the cost for the room.
- Len (8/5): - It was good for the price
- Cheryl (8/5): - Was a good stay
- BadServiceWatch (2/5): Rude and unfair staff - They had the rudest and most obnoxious staff. Telling lies during the reservation process and then changing their policies at check-in. Avoid, even if they have a good price. You are better off paying a little extra somewhere else in order to get better service.
- Christopher (10/5): - It has a bed
- Sarah (3/5): Not worth the cheaper rate. - Friendly staff that was able to accommodate my later checkin time. A few of the outlets and the freezer in our fridge was broken, along with our heating. The shower head was also missing from our shower and the bathroom was dirty when we arrived.
- Shelly (8/5): Very good -
- Jan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Matthew (5/5): Was expecting better - Friendly staff. Close to places to eat. Someone had put their foot through the desk chair and it was not replaced. There were large stains on the couch cushions. There was a good amount of dust on the light above the bed.
- Q6443SJtheresal (2/5): Horrible - Dirty dirty dirty needs a face lift in the worse way. The sheets smell the electrical didn't work. The whole place smelled. The floors in the bathroom were dirty. If you see this place press on the gas and keep going! Oh and no blow dryers either!!! The light bulbs were so dull you couldn't see anything....maybe that was the idea!
- Jason (3/5): Poor - Plenty of food options near by Poor or no wifi in the room I had. Had to move the desk to the door for signal. Paid for a double room and was switched to a single with no change in price. They said they had carpet cleaners coming for the room they gave me at first then switched rooms when I said I dont want to be bothered by people. Probably the worst place I've stayed in Kamloops
- Allan (10/5): - Clean and comfy bed 😁
- Sabri (8/5): Very good - All Nothing
- Daniel (7/5): Good -
- Levan (6/5): If you are not a demanding person you can stay one night - Clean bed sheets... Everything else was too old, so it's not like we didn't like it, it was just old, so you don't expect much from this place.
One night stay is ok
- Colin (7/5): Good - They provided a real glass to drink from
- Ashley (7/5): Good -
- Horse (5/5): Passable - Cheapest room in Kamloops My room smelled like marijuana
- Jodie (5/5): Great budget hotel. Clean, comfy beds. Yes it’s old but it’s fine. - Great price, comfy beds. Water pressure in shower was amazing. Some reviews mentioned noise from highway/trains but we didn’t notice it. McDonald’s is next door so easy breakfast/morning coffee. We stayed during a heat wave but air con was great.
- Frederick (10/5): not bad for a one night stay - there was no breakfast being asked if there was a special event, is that why i was there
- Neil (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tammy (6/5): - Room need to be up dated the curtain
- Hiro (6/5): - Room was nice size.
There were someone’s socks and left over chips on the floor.
Also there was no fan in the bathroom.
- Barry (9/5): Superb -
- Rhino (5/5): Passable -
- Quincy (2/5): Very poor -
- Terry (5/5): Ok, but not someplace I would take my wife to. - No breakfast. Rooms need a serious upgrading l.
- Trang (6/5): Pleasant - The location, suitable price Not enough light, kinda smell, weak internet,
- Caba (8/5): Great location and value! - Good location, great value. Nice and clean place.
- Wendy (7/5): Good - Low cost The ac was very loud. Too loud to sleep at night. Lots of road & train noise, used the noisy bathroom fan to cover it
- Don (5/5): we survived - we got a place to sleep as it was the long weekend no Handicap parking as my son had to use 2 parking spots and was given an unsatisfactory responce. no accessability in rooms
- Terri (1/5): Wifi & toilets needs to be updated & lights need to be replaced - It was okay Sketchy spot
- Jeffrey (7/5): I would stay here again. Thanks. - Linens were clean and bed was very comfortable.
Location, price, staff. Clothes drawers had to be cleaned by me before I used them. They also didn't close properly.
The floor under the desk was filthy.
Wi-Fi signal was poor in room.
- Cory (7/5): It was nice 👍 -
- Deguzman (1/5): Poor Poor - Nothing at all. I was looking for a decently priced motel after travelling for three days with my kids. I called this motel to see if a deposit was needed. At that time, I was told there would be a 200 dollar cash deposit. I drove down tonthe motel and went to pay the deposit, and the owner stated he wanted another form of payment. He had wanted the deposit by visa debit, fine so I put it on my debit, went back to pay, then he changed it to only visa or Mastercard for the deposit so I went and put it back on my credit card, then went back and then he stated the deposit would be 300.00. I asked to speak to the manager after all the bs, and the person workingnl said there was no manager available there at that time, the story changed about 3 times (first there was no manager there to speak too, then I had politely asked for him to reach out to the manager via phone call) then he stated the manager was not in BC at this time, so I couldnt speak to one, then then the story changed again, that there wasnt no manager/owner I could talk too. At this time, I have already paid for my room prior (on a booking site). After countless lies uponnlies being spewed by the owner, I stated I would just like a refund for my room. That led to the owner being very rude and refusing to cooperate.
After waiting an hour, he finally issued me a refund, but oh, it didn't end there. When he put it back on my debit (after it was successfully placed back on) the owner sent a message to where I booked my reservation for the motel and asked them to ask me to go give back the refund he issued back to me. I absolutely do not recommend this motel!
- Allison (6/5): Pleasant -
- Sher (7/5): Good value - Comfy bed. Fairly quiet, even though it's beside the highway and railroad tracks. Fridge and microwave were not clean.
- Denis (3/5): Poor -
- Chikako (10/5): - The property is better than expected.
Good value. I will come back again.
- ben (10/5): - Stayed 1 night while passing through, and for the price couldn’t have asked for more.
Clean and tidy room, not perfect but for the price can’t complain.
I would definitley stay here again.
- Enid (8/5): Very good - The room was comfortable and quiet. I arrived late in the evening and was quickly checked in. Leaving early in the morning I could drop my key at the door. I was able to park directly outside my room.
- Shane (8/5): - Place was alight,
- Pauline (8/5): - It was in a convenient location.
The rug was stained.
- pamela (8/5): - It was nice
- Ursula (8/5): A Budget Accommodation that Exceeds Expectations - This was a very pleasant surprise! We had everything we needed for an overnight stop. The beds were comfy and the sheets were beautiful. Clean and simple.
- Becky (10/5): - Over the years we've stayed at Rider's many times! The staff are always so welcoming and kind. The beds are very comfortable which is greatly needed as I'm often passing through after driving for many days and not always having a decent hotel bed to sleep in.
Thank you Rider's for the pleasure and for always putting me in a pet friendly room as my doggos are my travel companions while on the road for business!
- Nigel (9/5): Superb -
- Heather (8/5): - Convenient to travel, restaurants etc
- Walter (4/5): - Shower usless cigarette burns on furniture
- Linda (5/5): It was good for a one night stay. - It was a good price, great location and the staff was pleasant. The bed was clean and comfortable. This is an old motel that has been somewhat refurbished. That is what we had expected. What we did not like was the cleanliness. The windows had all kinds of greasy fingerprints, as well as the fridge outside, the television, the mirrors and the carpets had not been vacuumed for some time! Please do not post this but do let the motel know that their cleaning standards need upgrading.
- Duane (10/5): - stayed in a ground floor suite near my motorcycle. very quiet
- Kylie (5/5): A decent place for the price. - Good price and location The carpet and some furnishings really need replacing. The insides of the drawers needed a good cleaning.
- Diana (9/5): Fine and dandy. - No breakfast, coffee in room. Friendly managers. Good value for money.
- Darlene (4/5): Disappointing - The property was well situated. Close to all amenities The rooms weren’t cleaned properly. Found a dirty sock on the floor and other stuff. There was blood in the freezer in our room
- Lise (7/5): It was ok - No breakfast. Comfy bed
- Roland (7/5): Good -
- Knudsgaard (3/5): Poor - The location A staff paced around in front of my door trying to prsssure me to leave at 10am
- Agnes (8/5): Very good -
- Ranga (3/5): Poor -
- Mark (4/5): - A terrible shower with towels that should be cut up for rags, to a bed whose foot is higher than the head with a mattress old enough to vote, all in an ashtray fragrance room
- Aleisha (9/5): Superb -
- Coulthard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yan (7/5): Good -
