• Peerzada (2/5): - i have been staying in hotels and motel while travelling for 7 years. And this was the worst experience. Nobody when i went to check in. there was numbers on the door to call but no one recieves. Half an hour later someone comes but sends us to a room where there is already people. i unlocked the door and walked in to someone in the room naked. Horrible! then we get assigned to another room which has dirty bedsheets and cigarette burns on the pillow. The room pictures doesnt match and i wont go to details to the amenities lol. yes i have stayed in cheap places to just sleep for the night and go to hiking. but you cant stay here

• Neila (6/5): No Apple Tree Inn for us again. - At Apple Tree there were no food options that I saw. The beds were comfortable, but the sheets kept coming off. The flooring is warped and noisy when walking on it. The TV volume was so low at 100% making it extremely hard to hear. I did not take pictures but the building need much work outside as well as inside. When we first arrived there was a 30 minute wait for someone to check us in. There were numbers to call, but NO answer to any of the numbers. When the woman did come out she was surprised that there was someone waiting to check in. This is not clean outside. I lived in Richfield for 26 years, the Apple Tree had a great reputation that is why I chose it, I am very sorry that I did.
• Melanie (10/5): Clean, quiet, great rice. - Located in the middle of Richfield Utah The Apple Tree Inn is ideally placed for a comfortable and quiet night sleep in close proximity to a grocery store a convenience store and several other local businesses. With very reasonably priced rooms with air conditioning and Wi-Fi and television this is an excellent choice for anyone traveling through town or planning to stay in the area and see the sights for a while. The rooms were clean simply furnished and the bedding was also clean there were no bugs in the room nor were their bed bugs. The staff are exceptionally friendly professional and willing to help.
• DickZe (6/5): You get what ypu pay for - The Inn is along the main road. From the outside you will already not expect luxury. The check in was very friendly/ We got a number code for the room. The room itself is big enough but very basic and in dire need of renovation. Smell of mold. However, the bed linen was clean, so was the bathroom and the A/C worked well. Wi-fi did pose a problem however. The connection at the office was good, but it could not be picked up in our room and another connection was so unstable that it was useless. They were kind enough to give us another room closer to the reception (actually a bigger room) and here we got an acceptable connection. Furthermore an empty tissue box, coffee machine and, as we found out later when the office was closed, no towels. The room was quiet however and the sleep quality was good. I think we got what we could expect for this price.
• Bradley (4/5): - Closed when we arrived approx 8:00pm. I phoned a list of numbers left on the door for contact. No answers. Finally another lady waiting too said someone is coming. Room was poorly kept and in bad shape, linens and pillows had a foul odor. No towels, only hand towels for showering.
• Kelly (2/5): - I am not one to write a bad review but in this case it is needed to keep others safe. As I was checking in a man came close to the counter (whom I didn’t know-employee or not) but agent then gave me the info to my room. Unfortunately she voiced my room number as well as how to enter my room with a code. When I got to the room the door had 2 handles when only 1 was the one to get in and out while the other is just for looks. The one to get in had the code and knowing someone had that same code concerned me. When I got into the room it was clean but very outdated. Lights were not bright, tv very small, and beds did not look like the pictures. On the door with the 2 handles one was dummy lock just to pull open or closed and the other was the way to get in and out. As I was examining the door to see if I could do another side lock. No there was no slide lock or flip lock on the door. This concerned me because the only way to close the door was to push it closed and hope no one knew the code to get in. They need to work on the guest safety. Sorry this hotel reminded me of a crack hotel.
• Dustin (2/5): - No one there to check us in. No confirmation email telling us how to check in. No lighting in parking lot. People sitting out front of rooms in lawn chairs smoking and drinking at 1am. Looked like a place to rent by the hour, not by the night. Hovel.
• ELSA (2/5): - Front desk was closed, phone out of service. I knocked in one of the rooms to ask one of the guests where to get a key. Room was not clean, blankets had holes, towels were dirty, we couldn’t find another place to rest.
• Rowdy (2/5): - Most hotel rooms have permanent residents. People work on there cars in the parking lot all night. No locks on the doors. If they know the door code they can get in. Cats and dogs everywhere inside hotel rooms. Smelt very old. No covers on pillows stains on everything else. Blinds are from the 80s and are black. Planned on staying two nights and could left after first night. Not safe for kids. Can’t get a refund either.. find somewhere else for sure..
• Jeremy (2/5): - Check in was about 40 minutes. Door code didn’t work. Room had that old musty/cigarette smell. One towel Beds are older than my grandma. Ceiling fan was about to fall off. Air conditioner didn’t work. Toilet ran all night from leaking. Needless to say this place Was not good in any way.
• Verified traveler (2/5): Tweaker heaven - Pulled in the parking lot and the amount of druggies hanging around I didn’t even bring my kids in we left. If your looking for free entertainment and people watching it’s the place to be
• Todd (4/5): - There was no staff at the front desk when I arrived. I could every conversation from the next room through the door. The floors were dirty. The beds were hard as a rock. The TV was small like a computer monitor and I had to play with it for 15 minutes to get any programs. Continental breakfast - hardly anything worth eating unless you like sugar food.
• N6115EHpaulb (2/5): Unclean - Booked unseen on internet. Arrived but waited 10 minutes for a check in. First room had blood on sheets. Asked for 2nd room but it also had blood on sheets. Asked for refund but not given because of online booking. Online booking would not refund.
• Mark (2/5): - This place was awful. There was animal feces or dead food ground into the carpet (couldn't tell which but didn't want to get too close), spiders and insects everywhere (not just one or two, there were dozens), holes in the blinds and window coverings, holes in the walls, no fridge or microwave, and my child for stabbed by a fish hook that was stuck in the blanket. By far the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. I'm glad I was only there for one night.

• Randall (8/5): - Considering this place was almost 1/3 the price of everywhere else we saw available at the last minute, we kind of expected worse. But we just needed a place to crash due to horrible construction delays preventing us from reaching out destination before night-blindbess set in, and it ended up being totally fine. Nice digital keypad locks, and it worked out great for us that we had a king bed plus a full bed in a separate attached bedroom, both with ceiling fans. The mattresses weren't very comfy but I don't really sleep well except on my memory foam at home anyway. And although the bathroom was a little worn down, it was very clean. We did check for bed bugs and other pests but found nothing. The furnishings and bedding were definitely bare bones, but we had brought some pillows and blankets anyway. There was a mini fridge, microwave and TV, which we didn't end up using, and the Wifi and AC worked (and even provided some appreciated white noise from the busy street nearby). We managed to clock a full 8 hrs of rest before hitting the road again. Tina who checked us in at midnight (sorry, Tina!) was VERY nice and I didn't think all of the bad reviews we saw were really accounting for the great price so we wanted to make sure and post our experience.
• John (2/5): - We drove into the parking lot of the property and there were a few people outside that made my wife uneasy. One looked like he had a collection of belongings near him as he was using an electric grinder to cut metal. We drove away and we were unable to get a refund. They said that only two rooms were available, but most of the parking lot was empty, with the exception of the visitors we saw tinkering away out front.
• Jeff (2/5): - It was very dirty and run down. One of the beds had dirt on the sheets. No ice machine and the hotel houses for government assistance. There was a random pitbull in the parking lot that approached us right away as we got out of our vehicle. Soon we realized that this dog was very old, but still, uncomfortable with the fact that it tried to make its way into our unit. Literally, the earliest checkout of our lives! Toilet backed up the whole time, no garbage can in the place and our feet were filthy after walking on the laminate for a couple of hours. The TV remote did not work, and neither did half of the outlets. Could not wait to get a few hours of sleep (even though we were genuinely concerned about bed bugs) and leave ASAP! I don’t believe we actually were exposed to bed buds (fingers crossed), but it’s a seriously dirty place.

When i asked if we were almost done with the check in she looked at me like i hadnt been standing there for 20 minutes. We just took the loss and went to another hotel.

I had already drove 20 minutes. Was not going to turn around. Besides there was a couple scary looking guy’s hanging out in the parking lot

So, this was the only last option, but I would’ve slept in the car rather than gather bed bugs and hair lice sleeping in this nasty inn with almost everything broken and absolutely everything dirty.
• Archie (4/5): - It was the last available place to stay during the eclipse and now we know why😂 No frills. Pretty clean but super run down and old. The bedding was thin and had stains. The plugs wouldn’t stay in the outlets. Smelled old and musty. Outside was sketch. People stomping in room above all night. Light bulbs missing in the fixtures. Etc etc.
• Verified traveler (2/5): I should have slept in my car! - This is the worst overnight I've ever had at a business. First and foremost, the room was advertised as one king and one queen, but was actually two queens. The whole room was in shambles: stains on the bedding, no shower curtain, and the power outlets had no covers and were too loose to safely use. It wouldn't have mattered anyway, though, because the power kept going in and out all night. Even the floor was awful! The room I received was not level, as in there was a bump on the way to the bathroom. Everyone in my party kept stumbling on it! This was not worth ANY amount of money. Even in a pinch, just sleep in your car instead of going to this motel.
• Tim (2/5): - This hotel was nothing like the pictures. For $255. I thought it would be a nice stay for my wife and I. It was run down, The bed was not made - you didn’t want to sleep on it anyway. It smelled bad. I asked for a cancellation/refund. The clerk said I had to contact Expedia. We continued driving and did not stay there. Expedia was very difficult to contact and deal with. We have a case open with Expedia. We hope for a credit on our credit card.
• Deanna (2/5): - Literally the only hotel in the southern half of Utah with availability due to the eclipse occurring the next morning. Drove an hour out of the way but needed somewhere to sleep. Looked sketchy outside when we arrived, the lobby had strange decor but it appeared clean. Checked in and received a hand written paper with our room number and a code. The code is the key to open the room door. Hauled all of our stuff up the rusty stairs and opened our room door to find people already using the room. Fortunately, they were very kind and understanding. After sincere apologies we received an empty room. The deadbolt didn’t work and the chain lock was missing the chain so we felt unsecured. It appeared our room was subject to a previous flood as there were water marks and mold up over the baseboards. The box springs under the mattresses were exposed and looked like they were drug in from an abandoned field. Holes were punched in the walls and bathroom door. Cigarette ash was floating in the toilet. Two stained hand towels were the only towels available. Hair dryer was ripped off the wall and missing. Everything was filthy. Sketchy people wandering around the parking lot. It appears it’s probably a rent by the hour motel.

No breakfast served, and cup of coffee offered "after" 9:00. Sheets on bed had 4 places of dark stains, and a cigarette hole in the sheet!! • Nicole (2/5): Not a good experience - We where in hotel for 20 min then checked out my kids where complaining about getting bites. So we loaded up and drove rest the way home. I have never had that happen to me before.

There were stains everywhere and the white toilet seat was so worn it was black in places. There were holes in the wall and one of the towels we were given was still damp and stained. There were a lot of seedy people hanging out by our room the whole night. I would not recommend staying here.

• Excursion757081 (4/5): I've seen worse... - The "non-smoking" room used to be a smoking room, and they never even changed the lampshades. It stunk like stale cigarette smoke horribly. The lock on our door appeared it had been kicked in at one point and was hanging on by one loose screw...we put a chair in front of the door for safety. Had to wait to check in for 15 minutes while the clerk was friendly and tried to call management to get us checked in. No coffee available when we went to check out at 7am. There was a fridge in the room, but in order to plug it in, the TV would have to be unplugged. Wi-fi did not work either said "connected without internet"
• Paul (2/5): - I waited for at least 15 minutes in the office for someone to check me in. The owner/manager couldn't be found. No Internet, most of the channels on the TV weren't subscribed for. The sheets had actual holes in them. Only one bath towel,no wash cloths,no hand towels. The rest of the staff seemed nice but the property needs serious work. Way too expensive for what you get.

• Verified traveler (6/5): - for a non smoking room both rooms I've been in had old and new smoke smells. one headboard had a cigarette left and burn marks all over headboard. some of the rooms have the old original carpeting and paneling or old wall paper. usually clean but have had to reclean bathroom before using it. staff were nice and helpful the few times I've stayed. Not the best stay but when in a pinch it's lower rates.
• Verified traveler (4/5): Strong smoke smell - It was marked as a non smoking room but it smelled very strongly of smoke. They also posted that people aren’t allowed to smoke within 25 ft of the rooms but a lady next door was smoking right outside her door. The shower curtain didn’t stretch across the whole shower and the shower head didn’t work very well. The beds were comfortable but one of the sheets had stains on it.
• Verified traveler (4/5): A little disappointing - We had to phone the attendant to get her to come to the front desk. The room smelled like it used to be a smoker’s room.
• Heidi (2/5): - Front desk closed early, we had to wait for someone to open the office to do the check in. Poor service from the staff. There’s no front desk service in the morning also. No breakfast. No hot or warm water in shower. Imaging that during winter time.😒
• Kara (2/5): - This property should not even be listed as a place for travelers to stay. It is run down dirty and not safe. The front desk staff are pleasant but maybe not in the correct position. The room was filthy and had bugs and was not properly stocked ie no wash cloths no coffee (but had coffee maker). Yes all these things could have been fixed with a trip to the front desk that is if anyone was there. They rented my “room” to someone else which frightened both of us. This is a place where people stay when they are in transition. One step away from being homeless. There is nothing wrong with that but I do not believe that it is a place for travelers or vacationer’s to stay. I strongly urge you to remove it from your website
• Jason (4/5): Oopsie, a Poopsie 💩 - Oof… the quality was about what I expected for the price. I wasn’t expecting anything special. I was actually impressed with the cleanliness at first glance, but what I found in the toilet the next morning was quite gross. Kind of an important thing to miss. See attached picture….
• Alyssa (4/5): - Pros: the front desk lady was very kind and the towels were fluffy and great. Also, there were beds, walls, a roof, and running water. Cons: despite being a non-smoking property, there was a drawer filled with cigarette ashes, an ash tray, and a cigarette and the room stank of smoke. We needed to get in touch with the property prior to check in and had to call 8x before anyone answered. The room is outdated and falling apart (broken toilet flusher, filthy tub due to build-up, etc.) The booking said one king, one queen and it was instead 2 queens. That's fine, but was just disappointing. The bedding did not fit/was too small. I did not feel it was safe for my 2 toddlers to crawl on the floor or explore. The wifi did not work at all.
• Weldon (4/5): Disappointed - Arrived at the motel, no one at the front desk. Sign said to call these numbers, both phone laying on counters. Finally got to room. Room decent no complaints. Tried to check out only to discover office didn’t open until 9 AM. Had to call again
• Lisa (2/5): - The room was dirty and in terrible repair. The light switch in the bathroom was rigged to stay on but it didn’t work, the toilet wasn’t attached to the floor and moved around and didn’t flush well. Overall a terrible stay
• michael (8/5): - Was fine. Computer was down at check-in and the room was ok clean. Kept my shoes on even in the shower.
• Julie (2/5): Terrible - This was the worst place most rundown place I have ever seen! From the smoke smell, dirty carpets, dirty walls, wires stick out from the light fixture, I honestly can’t even describe how terrible this place is.

• steve (10/5): - The property was clean for the most part. There was paint peeling off the walls in the bathroom. The pillows were a little too soft for my taste, just had to double them up. I checked out early (7:00 AM) but the lobby was locked so I couldn’t confirm nor could I get a receipt. I had to call later. I don’t know if they have check out on the T.V. , if so, I couldn’t find it
• Steffany (2/5): - Room was disgusting. Smelt like urine. Laminate floor was definitely not clean, you could see where either an animal had urinated or where something was spilt. Mattress was black all around the edges. The property manager had men coming and going from her room all night long. Bathroom was so dirty, we used toilet paper to cover the seat every time we went to the bathroom. Didn’t even really feel comfortable sleeping in such a disgusting room. Didn’t feel safe leaving my car parked there over night. Watched drug deals go down all through the night. Nasty. Wouldn’t even recommend it to my worst enemy
• roxannebR5972AT (8/5): Sufficient and comfortable - I was nervous given some of the reviews, but found a clean comfortable room. The front desk clerk was polite and helpful. There was a lot if noise. They certainly could clean and mop better. Getting accurately sized sheets would add to the comfort. This motel was low cost but sufficient for the night.
• Zach (2/5): DO NOT STAY HERE. LEGIT HORROR SHOW. - This was the worst hotel stay in my 27 years of life. From start to finish the apple tree inn did not fail to disappoint. There was no one manning the front desk- it took nearly 10 minutes to get someone to come man said front desk. The check in process was slow. I was checking in at 8 PM- my room was not ready. I was not told this by the front desk and when I got to my room I was told it would be done “in about 10 minutes”. I left to continue my night and upon return, the door was left wide open (for over 2 and a half hours). When we got in to the room, a double bed room, there was only 1 pillow per bed, a blood stain on the sheets, and a lack of a few things: the three most notable- a bathroom door, a safety chain lock, and towels of all sizes. The room was extremely dingy and I will NEVER stay here again and I am thoroughly imploring you to not stay as well. Worst stay ever.
• Shelly (2/5): - Upon arriving room needed to be checked if ready, l waited .. then to put me in another room and bring me the key, l waited 2 ladies forgot cause they were catching up they hadnt seen each other for a day. I just drove a couple hundred miles l wanted to shower n lay down before my meeting not chasing after a room key l had to go retrieve myself from the office standing in limbo in the parking lot waiting for customer service front desk to finish catching up on my time..
• brenda (2/5): Nightmare at Appletree - This truly was the worst place I have ever stayed! Bed was like sleeping on concrete, paint was peeling off the walls, had a couple of holes in the wall, AC unit didn't work well also made horrible noises, the bathtub would not drain, the floor mat smelled really bad and the carpet was nasty!

• Jennifer (2/5): HORRIBLE place to stay- DON'T do it! - This is a scary and sketchy place. There was left over food in the fridge, and the sheets were ripped. WORST of all, at 2:30 am, someone had a key and tried to enter our room!!! Luckily we had chained the door; scared my son to death!! We think it was the lady from the front desk because we heard a the intruder/lady say, "I told you someone was in this room."

• Ralonda (2/5): - Our first night was fine the hotel is out dated the furniture needs a good wash. With the rooms being a non-smoking room the blankets had cigarette burns on them. I don’t like sleeping in the blankets I just used the top cover over the whole bed to sleep because I didn’t trust the blankets to be slept in but then my husband was bit by bed bugs any ways. Found some walking around on the pillows. Told my self I’m never going to stay in a hotel like that ever again. The owner didn’t believe us about the bed bugs she kept asking to see where my husband was bitten I kept telling her it was on his back but she kept moving around acting like see wanted to see but didn’t. Then told us to just leave and leave the room key. But told us we where going to be charged for one night.

• Terry (2/5): Stay away from here - Horrible place to stay. Didn’t even check in. What looked like homeless people walking around the parking lot. Some going in to rooms. One guy literally picked something up off the ground and ate it!!!
• Kevin (2/5): One of the Top Two Worse of All Time - More of a half-way house in an undesirable area that a hotel. Really shouldn't be listed on Hotels.com. Had to call a number taped to the lobby door for check in attendant that had no service skills. Room had no heat on before entering, so it was 40 degrees inside and took a good hour to get warm enough to take a shower. Had to ask for towels, soap, shampoo and conditioner. Bathroom not clean or in proper working condition. Shower nozzles broken and almost coming off the wall. Water got to luke warm at best. We were so tired and just wanted to take a hot shower and sleep in a warm bed from 8pm check in to 6am check out. Would have walked out and made a reservation at another hotel, but was simply too tired to fight for the refund and go to the next option.
• Maria (2/5): - This place was very dirty. Light bulbs missing and towels were stained. Floors were sticky. Not impressed.
• Monica (4/5): - Property in very bad condition, shower was filthy heat didn't work and there were bums hanging around my door . Very scary as I was traveling alone.
• Shannon (2/5): Needs cleaning and new linens. - No fitted sheet on one of the beds. Only top sheet tucked in and stained old comforter on top. Throw pillow on top appeared to be stained with a big smear of blood. Nightstand and wall splattered with ?? Floor needed swept and mopped. Front desk was cordial but had repeated issues with room card key.
• Ashley (2/5): - I didn’t even stay the night. I checked in, took a walk along the room and left. The bathroom floor has stains that looked like blood and dirt. The sink and toilet looked like they had been wiped with a dirty rag. It smelled like cigarettes and the fan didn’t work. There were strange people standing around outside smoking and talking loud and the door didn’t lock properly! The deadbolt had also been removed. I didn’t feel safe staying there with my eighteen month old son. We left right away. I tried calling the front desk to let them know that we wouldn’t be staying but it kept going straight to voicemail. I never got ahold of anyone.
• MeganyMeg (2/5): Couldn’t even stay. - We intended to use the room for a cheap place to leave our pup in ac while we went to the hot springs. On arrival, the manager was asleep at 10am and couldn’t be reached for 5 mins and was doped up when we finally got their attention. The rooms were old, dirty, there was no hand soap, and there was dirt on the floor. We left when we noticed broken door handles outside the rooms next to ours. The manager was not available at the front desk at 2pm the same day or we’d have asked for a refund.

• Verified traveler (2/5): - Awful! Disgusting! The dirtiest place that I have ever stayed, and I travel a lot. All I expect from a hotel/motel is that it’s clean. This place was the exact opposite. I have never seen such a dirty room in my life. The sheets were dirty, the walls were splattered with who knows what, there were dead flies on the floor and bathtub, the bathtub had long black hairs in it, the sink looked like it had never been washed. We had no soap in the room so we couldn’t even wash our hands after using the restroom. We arrived at about 2 am (we checked in earlier that day) and when we tried to call the phone number that was left in case of a problem, we got no answer. We tried several times. We weren’t even able to sleep because we had no blankets and not even any clean sheets to sleep on. It was absolutely awful but we had no other place to go. Honestly, sleeping on the ground outside or in our car would have been better. The staff at the desk was kind and tried to help us the next morning when we complained, but the owner is very difficult to work with. She refuses to let her managers give refunds and insists on doing it herself. We were told by the manager that we would get a full refund for both nights (we only stayed one night) but the owner still hasn’t given us our refund. It has been a week. She keeps telling us that she will do it when she comes back to town and now she won’t respond to my texts. Pay the extra money and stay somewhere else. This place is AWFUL!!!!!
