Guest Reviews
- Guest (10/5): Awesome little place! Clean and comfortable - Very comfortable bamboo foam beds, super clean and modern room, awesome location just a couple minutes from Yellowstone.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Wonderful place that brought peace to me. No complaints about anything. This should be the standard for more hotels and inns. .............
- Luciano (10/5): ertyuio - it was great
- Tim (6/5): Room OK, exterior not so - The place looked depressing from the outside. The first room we were given was a dark one on the ground floor. We asked for another one and got an end room on the second floor that was much lighter.
The room was a bit small for the 2 queen beds but clean. Bathroom fine.Decore was good, but the whole thing a bit tight. Staff was very helpful.
- mapmaker (8/5): Funky new place - This is a very new hotel. Still working out the kinks... the shower sprays out the door when you turn it on, the coffee maker should be in the room not the bathroom, the walls are thin but the beds are sooo comfortable. The step to the ground from the deck is a rock, this just cannot pass code.
- Lindsay (8/5): Small, basic but very clean hotel - Very comfortable beds and very clean. Rooms are quite small. TV is huge with live streaming Apple TV. No breakfast available. Strange set up using rocks to step up to the porch which is not so handy in ice or snow or for kids.
- Amar (10/5): Nice and clean room - I was there for 2 nights, love the room. Only suggestion would be to have a faster internet.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Good location near the entrance to Yellowstone. The room was sufficient, but lacked a few things. There was no table lamp, so we had to use the overhead light for nighttime reading. The television streaming and wifi was terrible. You are not able to watch live tv and shows were frequently interrupted. Download episodes or movies prior to your visit. There were prior spills on floor by the bed that were not cleaned (laminate floors, so they were not properly mopped).
- glee gurl (8/5): Glad I got a deal - This is a nice hotel with a nice staff. I paid a little over $100 and was happy with that but that was at a significant discount. I would have been disappointed if I spent over $200. Otherwise, it was a nice convenient stay.
- Yin (8/5): Small but comfortable room - The room is small, but offers everything we need including coffee maker, humidifier, mini fridge and microwave! The bed and pillows are comfortable. The Apple TV offers a variety of shows to watch. The hotel is located in a very convenient location for dinning and access to west gate of Yellowstone. My only complaint is you can easily hear noise from upstairs or when people are walking by.
- Robert (2/5): Think twice about staying here - The worst lighting impossible to read. Hated the tv too confusing enable to get complete news programs. The office is unpainted utility closet. The checkin girl was nice and helpful. Did not like the memory foam mattress.
All in all it was not worth the price we paid.
- Marian (6/5): A decent place to sleep on your way in/out of Yell - It was one of very few inns In West Yellowstone with a room available on a short notice.
From the street it looks like two 2-story detached apartment buildings.
The 'reception office' is in the back of the 2nd building. It is actually a utility room with water heaters and a small desk. We have not seen any amenities execpt for the room. The room was crowded, but clean and well furnished. A staff member who showed us the room was very nice. Smart TV was hard to operate.
Overall, a safe and clean place to crash for a night, but not much more.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice and Cozy - My Dad and I both really enjoyed Tao's Inn. The rooms were clean, we had everything we could possibly need, and the rooms were nice and warm at night without the use of the heater. We would definitely stay here again or recommend this place to others.
- Andy (4/5): 2 star hotel, 4 star prices - Pros: Room was relatively clean and the bed was quite comfortable. Good location.
Cons: Spent a day in Yellowstone, came back to the room to find the room door left open by housekeeping (I presume). Fortunately nothing was missing. It wasnt only our room, noticed other rooms were left open too. TV is useless. They use apple TV which is fine, but you cant watch anything for more than 3 minutes before the show pauses for several minutes. The rooms look very little like the pics. Recommend looking elsewhere at those prices.
- Cass (10/5): Excels in customer service - Stay: 8 weeks ago
The busiest week at Yellowstone National Park and we were able , on short notice, to find clean, comfortable , well appointed rooms at Tao's Inn . It is a few minutes drive from the west gate of the NP. We needed 2 rooms for 4 people. The staff put us in side by side rooms. This inn is within walking distance to downtown restaurants and shops. The beds and linens were luxurious; rooms appointed with most of the amenities you'd expect (microwave, wifi , fridge, internet television, hairdryer, Keurig coffee maker with an assortment of coffees and teas). The center yard has a picnic table in the shade for guest use. Mr. Lee was welcoming and available on the premises. He works to deliver excellent customer service. We would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again.
- Brian (4/5): This hotel is set up to sleep - This hotel is functional place to sleep and is quiet. However the disappointment start with the check in office. Or should I say the lack of an appropriate place to check in. I realize that it rain/snowed while we were there, but parking lot with standing water in it,, was frustrating.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Dorm Rooms are better than this. - Don't know how this place gets 4 and 5 stars. Maybe other rooms are different, but ours only had the bed; no table, chairs, dresser, closet, etc. Microwave was on top of the mini-fridge, and that was the only horizontal space in the room. Coffeemaker was in a plastic basket under the sink in the bathroom. Only giving it the two star rating because of cleanliness. Office is literally the utility closet with pipes on the walls. No breakfast, no amenities, no elevator.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel close to Yellowstone NP west entrance - 0.3 miles to Yellowstone west entrance. Many restaurants in walking distance. Clean room, spacious bathroom. TV + Apple TV. AC power outlet with USB. Coffee maker, and electric kettle.
- Nancy (4/5): Way overpriced - Though the price seemed very high, thought we would "splash" out on someplace special. What a disappointment. There was no lobby...just a closet full of stuff. The rooms would have been ok for about $80 but not for adding up with tax at nearly $300. For that price I had expected luxury. Breakfast wasn't included (but I guess I knew that). The TV didn't offer regular channels...and we couldn't get what was offered to work. Overall, very disappointed....and to make matters worse, a week later we had another $40 taken off our card and when I phoned and asked them "What for?" They said that we had broken a lamp in the room.....which we DID NOT!!!! Do not stay here.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Excellent Hotel. Clean, comfortable and close to everything.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Just a walk into town for restaurants and shops - Very enjoyable. Ask for a balcony room and have your own private outdoor seating.
- Chris (8/5): Small hotel - Room was very clean and bedding very comfortable. Room was too small for Queens, better suited to two double beds. Office was off putting when we checked in. Basically a utility room with a desk. Staff showed us the room and what was there.
Need printed instructions for the Apple TV, Some of us are not tech savvy, just need a basic TV.
Coffee not replaced when room cleaned and cups not washed on our second day.
- Cosmo (8/5): Don't Judge Hotel by the Cover - The exterior looks very plain, and uninviting. Drove around twice looking for the hotel lobby, there is none. The room is excellent with good space, and clean Japanese style decor. The bathroom and walk-in shower were roomy and clean. However, the extra wide bathroom door would not close due to position of the bed.
- Nells (10/5): Perfect - As long as you aren't high maintenance, this place is awesome. Room is clean, comfy, and perfectly situated to access Yellowstone. No office/concierge/etc. But check in was easy, and room was super clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. Only request would be an ice machine. Otherwise, perfect.
- Haljen (8/5): Hotel close to Town - Nice hotel the a/c and refrigerated were a little noisy. Probably would not stay there again. Very friendly staff.
- Chris (6/5): review of toads. - It was very difficult to locate the office, which was in a small closet behind the building with very little signage to locate the office. The room that was assigned to us had electrical problems, and the light did not work in the bath room. When we arrived their was a large amount of laundry hanging all over the porch railing and in chairs in the yard. The only way we could shut off the A/C was to unplug the HVAC unit. The room was clean, and well stocked. The office was not opened very long, if you need something you had to call a cell phone number.
- Carol (6/5): Not worth the price. - Rooms are small. No local tv. Very limited channels. Geared towards Asian visitors. No vending machines. No continental breakfast. Check in office was in a closet in back of building. Way over priced for what is offered.
- Beth (8/5): A quaint little gem! - We were pleasantly surprised! There's no real amenities but the location is good, the rooms were lovely, and the beds are really comfortable. We'd stay here again.
- Stan (4/5): Misguided design - Mattress sat on a wooden base which stuck out about 6 inches. So I have welts on my leg from hitting it. Also made it very difficult to sit on bed.
There were no where else to sit-No chairs.
TV was not real tv-only Apple TV which contains only videos.
- Sabrina (8/5): - The outside of the building looked a little rough but the rooms inside although were little small or very well decorated and maintained the bed and the pillows were probably the most comfortable I've ever slept on
- Sarah (8/5): Renovated hotel just outside of west entrance - The hotel was just renovated. Everything in the room is brand new. Room is clean and spacial. Staff is friendly. Steps away from Yellowstone west entrance.
- Jon (8/5): Comfortable Hotel in West Yellowstone - This is a convenient and clean hotel in West Yellowstone. It met our needs for a comfortable place to sleep after long days in Yellowstone National Park. The WIFI was good in the early morning but in the evening, it slows down. I would recommend this hotel.
- Charlie (6/5): Good impression at the first. But after service??? - I had a good impression about this hotel because the manager was nice enough to give me the military discount of 10%. However, When I brushed my teeth in the bathroom the lamb at the counter was too close to my arm. My hand brushing motion accidentally touches the lamp glass cover. And then it broke the lamp. And I tried to see the manager about this issue. But the manager was not at the counter. And I was supposed to check out 11 AM. So I called the office, the only recorded message was playing. Hence, I left the detail message of what happened in the bathroom. And the time passed 11 AM. But I don't want to leave the hotel without the manager's awareness of what happened. so I waited until he came back to the office. He finally showed up about 11:30 AM. But he said he had to take away the 10% discount that he gave me because of what happened. At that time, I said ok. But not I reflect what happened. I don't think, it is my fault to break the lamp. the lamp location was too close to anyone who use the bathroom. I hope that they don't put any electrical devices nearby water faucet where you do your brushing teeth and washing your faces. That is my honest detail experience with this hotel.
- Elisha (10/5): Cleanest & Best hotel I've ever stayed at!!!! - This is a very small owned hotel. It's exterior may discourage you initially due to the set up; however, it would be a mistake to pass up this hotel! The location was perfect, not much traffic, plenty of parking. The room was amazing! Large room , the most quiet place in Yellowstone I have stayed in (including the hotels within the park), huge curved apple tv with all the works including HBO. The interior is decorated with Asian accents and was wonderfully exotic feeling, yet felt very much like a home. Cleanest place I have ever stayed and I travel all the time. This is the only place I will stay on my next visit to Yellowstone!
- James (8/5): Nice clean room. - While the check in was a bit out of the ordinary because there is not front desk. The "office" is a small closet in the side of the building. But the room was really nice, clean, and spacious! There wasn't an iron in the room, there was no ice machine or vending
machines, free breakfast, or swimming pool but the room
did have flat screen tv, Keurig,
and mini fridge. I would stay there again.
- Mauri, El Paso (10/5): Beautiful and private. - Big room, clean, extra amenities. Quiet. Nice Outdoor space to relax.
- Robert (10/5): Great place to stay. Loved it - Great place to stay. Super happy
- Jodie (10/5): Clean & modern - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The room was very clean & modern. I liked the faux wood floors & clean modern interior. The service was great. They were able to accommodate our need for a roll-in shower with 1 day's notice. The employee was very friendly and helpful. The "office" where you check-in is a little small & odd, but didn't affect our very nice stay. The room we were in was pretty small, but that may have been to accommodate the larger disability bathroom. Our daughter thoroughly enjoyed the hammock outside too.
- Lisa (8/5): Great for Millennials - This property is designed for millennials. It came with Apple TV and Netflix which we "older" people didn't know how to operate. No cable for local news or weather. No ice maker. No one in the office after 10 PM. But when we called for assistance, someone came to our room and got a couple of channels to work for us. It was very clean and nice. A little pricey but convenient for our trip to Yellowstone.
- Christopher (8/5): ~ Winner in West Yellowstone ~ - It would have all five's if they would have had cable tv. Upgraded decor and very clean!
- Benjamin (6/5): Essentially OK for what it was. - This is a bit on the economy side with smaller rooms, no lobby, a manager's office off the back of one of the buildings, and a trailer in the parking lot for maintenance supplies. But the rooms were clean and certainly not seedy.
- Melinda (10/5): Wonderful little spot off the radar. - A very nice place. Clean, well furnished, and many nice touches in the bathroom.
- Valerie (8/5): A trendy place nicely done. - When we drove up we were nervous about it but I knew from other reviews the outside isn't that impressive. There isn't any type of check in desk it is just a door in the side of the building with a guy sitting inside a closet like space. He took us to our room and it was indeed nice. Clean and nicely furnished. It was a bit noisy between the upstairs people not taking off their shoes (laminate floors) and being by the stairwell. Other than that it was a good experience. They could use to touch up the paint on the walls and baseboards. They have apple TV and no phones not that we needed a phone it was just interesting.
- Jin (8/5): Overall is ok - The building outside looks so cheap, but the inside of room is really clean and modern design. I like the wood floor, doesn't like other hotel's old dirty carpet.
- varun (10/5): Good hotel - Nice and clean room, close to West Yellowstone gate ,
- Lyle (10/5): Close to Yellowstone, of main road. - Check in at broom closet type room. Room was very nice.
- Jim (8/5): - Disappointed in smart TV would prefer to be able to watch local network programs and news as opposed to just Netflix etc
- Jennifer (10/5): Sensible luxury - Rooms were nice, beds VERY comfortable. Outside of building, office/electrical room gave wrong impression as to the beauty of room. Staff helpful pleasant.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Comfortable, clean and convenient. Great mattresses.
- Cass (4/5): Beds - horrible - The room was nice and clean. Updated everything except the beds. Part of the reason I picked this motel was for the memory foam mattress which turned out to be a two inch memory foam pad. The memory pad was placed on top of the box spring... we truly loved everything else but they NEED to do something about the bed situation.
- Stephanie (8/5): Yellowstone trip - perfect location, awesome accommodations
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Room was so quiet, clean, well-appointed and comfortable. Boys loved the Adventure zip line/ropes course next door and easy walking distance to Main Street and all attractions. Easy checkin/out and parking
- Tricia (10/5): Clean comfortable hotel with no frills - This hotel room was one of the cleanest and most comfortable in which I have ever stayed. The hotel staff was very accommodating in our request for a refrigerator in which to store some medication. Although there is no lobby, no dining room or breakfast and no other amenities such as a pool, I would stay here again. The beds were extremely comfortable and the rooms were clean and modern.
- Kyle (8/5): Nice hotel - Nice hotel but missing a few things in the room. Needs a desk chair and more items for the coffee pot. The TV was impossible to work. The usb port didn't work.
- Andrew (10/5): Well located, spacious, convenient - Great price and hotel given the location. Enjoyed the Keurig with large to-go cups and Apple TV with large TV. Thanks!
- Clifford (6/5): Small Room and Over priced - Stay was OK. No Ice No Cable tv. Room was small. I think Over priced for what you get.
- Beth (4/5): Bad Option!!! - First no lobby or office! Located Iin maintenance
Room. Shower broken! Floors sticky and dirty. Cost 534 For two days and definitely not worth it. No coffee or breakfast. A real disappointment!
- Teri K. (8/5): - Room was very nice and clean. the bathroom door had a terrible squeak in hinges the noise woke you up during the night if the door moved. we don't know the use of Netflix so took a long time to figure out how to watch TV when we returned to room after a day out. other than that our stay at Tao's Inn was great for our 23rd wedding anniversary.
- Vicki (10/5): Excellent place! - Excellent! Beautiful room, very nice employee. Fantastic tv and service. Very relaxing and different decor than most motels.
- DUSTIN (8/5): Tao's Inn - This is a great, inexpensive hotel near the west entrance of Yellowstone. Great bang for the buck.
- Karen (10/5): Great vibes! - Excellent motel! I'm not sure why this place isn't rated much higher overall. The motel was immaculate, like brand new. The decor was modern and so much better than your average place. The service was very good and the location fantastic. I'd stay again and again.
- Rosa (8/5): Nice and Cozy - Clean and cozy. Everything is new
- Jinyu (10/5): - The location is wonderful, close to the entrance.Room is clean and comfortable~ The most important is that the service is super good, I left my personal stuff in room mistakenly, and figured it out even several days later, but they still help me to keep it and send it back to me after I contact with the manager. Good experience with Tao's inn~
- JK (6/5): Good location but okay facility - Located in near(less than 2 minutes) West entrance which is best location & convenient. But room wasn't clean and amenity items are not good & some items are not usable.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Simple but luxe! - The property manager Rick was very helpful and friendly. The place may look basic from the outside but the rooms came with a real coffee maker, a humidifier, luxury standard toiletries and best of all I thought the bedding was the most comfortable I've experienced in a while!
- Verified traveler (10/5): 5Ghz WiFi - Room was pretty modern and really clean. Had Apple TV and Netflix included. We also got microwave when we requestedit. Very good WiFi. Even had 5ghz WiFi !
- Robert (10/5): Great place to stay in the West Entrance - Rick the administrator was there waiting for us, very kind young man, the room looks new, very clean! great decoration, good location, beds were very confortable. We love the place.
- Martha (10/5): Would come back - Newer place, still working on it. Great potential! Comfortable beds, clean room, great location!
- don (2/5): No Bed! - It would be my expectation that at a motel/hotel, they would provide a bed. To actually be a bed, they need a mattress. That is not what occurred here. What they had was a box springs covered by a 2" memory foam topper. This was like sleeping on a board, literally! That is my primary complaint but in addition: No ice machine at all for 16 rooms; It took 10 minutes (actually timed) of running the hot water to get hot water for a shower; they had free wifi, but with no table or chair to set a computer on, I'm not sure how they expect one to use it.
- Charlene (10/5): - Tao's was a very cute & quaint place to stay! We loved the location & the room, we extended our stay another night! The room was decorated so cute! A lot of extra touches to the room. Beds were comfy! Love,Love the place.
- dawn (10/5): Wonderful beds - Great beds and comfortable rooms. Entrance signage is hard to see from the road and the check-in office location is hard to identify but otherwise we loved it and would stay again
- Laura (6/5): Basic, no frills, and very limited amenities - This hotel is relatively new, no frills, (Motel 6), the office is in the back in the mechanical room and hard to find, the beds are comfortable, the room clean and the staff helpful. However you have to be 7 feet tall to adjust the shower, enjoy Apple TV as the regular TV does not work, no coffee maker in the room, no phone, lighting that did not work, and little around the hotel. There are much better values around West Yellowstone. No breakfast, limited access, limited parking, and virtually no amenities. Rate even with all the Hotel discounts was above the normal rates for others in the area.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Convenient to the park. Easy parking. Very friendly staffing
- Ilameta (6/5): - Tao was a friendly & helpful host. This is not a typical hotel or motel. It is basically 2 pre fab buildings. But the room was decorated nicely, it was clean, and the bed was comfortable. It was way too expensive for what it was. The pillows were all too firm and the shower was so small my husband thought he was on a cruise ship.
- NORMAN (8/5): Unique - Unique style in room decor. Very nice rooms.
- Michelle (8/5): Yellowstone vacation - Not a regular hotel, no lobby, just small office but nice room, refrigerator, wifi, Apple TV with Netflix.
Owner very helpful with your needs.
- pete (2/5): west yellowstone - due to half the hotel closed and poor TV. was moved to another hotel across the street. the proprietor was courteous but had no reception office and had to call him on cell phone with his number left on the door.
- Lisa (10/5): Clean hotel, good location - Nice little hotel with a very friendly owner. Asian styling in rooms, clean and neat. The only downside is the lack of breakfast, but they do have a coffeemaker with plenty of coffee choices in the room.
- chloe (6/5): close to yellow stone park - it is closed to entrance of yellow stone national park but that is a small motel.
- Daniel (10/5): New and Modern - Tao's is a brand new, very modern hotel and not at all what you would expect to find in West Yellowstone. The room and bath are very well appointed and well lit. The room is small and has no seating or desk. There is no front desk and no one on the property thru the night. Mr Tao met us in the parking lot and conducted business right there providing a receipt for the one night charge. He provided us with a bucket of ice, but there is no ice machine available to guests. Check out was "leave the key on the table and close the door". There are no services at Tao's.......if you need something or have a problem he instructed us to call the number on the web page. Free internet is provided along with free Apple TV. No local channels or live TV is provided. The bed and bedding were very comfortable and the place was very quiet. There is a coffee maker but no fridge, microwave, pool, exercise room, or lobby.
- Twila (6/5): - We were on the first floor and could hear every step in the room upstairs. The rooms have no carpeting but wooden floors which lend to noisiness. Unfortunately, the people in the room above us were awake all hours of the night not allowing us a very good night's sleep. Additionally, there is no front desk or lobby which makes it very strange.
- Julie & James (10/5): Great location! - Close to W. Yellowstone entrance! Super clean! Owner super nice! He gave us some good tips where to eat!
- Jennifer (10/5): Convenient and Comfortable Stay - Room was clean and comfortable. Only a few rooms in whole hotel. Outdoor entrance (no indoor corridor or elevator). Simple room but had all we needed.
- Wallace (8/5): Small hotel in West Yellowstone. - This is a small hotel in West Yellowstone. When we arrived we noticed a sign that said that the hotel was being remodeled. That surprised us as we had just heart a week earlier that they were expecting us. It was after 7:00 pm and we needed a room, so we were able to find one north of West Yellowstone. Later we saw that the hotel had billed us for one night for no show. We contacted the hotel and talked with the management and they agreed to write off the one night. I will say that we wish this could have been handled when we arrived that night, but I also want to say the the hotel management was great in helping us with this problem. The hotel looked small but very good. I wish we could have stayed there.
- Emily (8/5): Good quiet and clean hotel. - Overall it was a good experience. Not sure if this was the normal for the area but the facility was two stories and lacked an elevator. We had a disabled member in our group that had to struggle with the stairs. (I couldn't recall if this was stated in their profile when we made our reservations). The hotel was unable to accommodate us to another floor saying they were booked but did offer to help with the luggage and such. The rooms were cramped and had only one uncomfortable wooden chair and very little surface space to put our belongings. The bathroom/shower were great with spacious cabinet space, unfortunately, you couldn't get to it if someone else was in the bathroom/shower. Staff was not on the grounds 24/7, but when we called the hotel number and asked for some assistance they responded immediately.
- Kathleen (2/5): Tao's Inn is unprofessional, poor service. - VERY disappointed with Tao's Inn. When I called to confirm reservation on day of arrival, I was told we were moved to another hotel that I did not choose nor wanted to stay at. No choice plus poor communication by Tao's Inn. They never called me and knew although they knew that they moved us to another hotel.
- Myra (6/5): Not what we expected. - This motel consists of two buildings with a strip of grass between them. One of the buildings was closed by the board of health. Our room had to be reassigned. Check In was a college exchange student in a plumbing closet with a laptop that wouldn't connect. We waited in our car for the owner, who was eager to please, helped us up the stairs to a different room and reduced our rate. We should have gotten notified about the problem in advance. Although the beds were comfortable, we were expecting a night of luxury.
- Traveler (4/5): CA Road Trip - A newer hotel, but cheaply built and minimal facilities. NO lobby...just a wooden door on the side of the building with a sign OFFICE. It was actually more like a storage room and we. NO refrigerator. NO microwave. Cheap shower stall with a shower head so high that short people can't reach it to adjust it. Shower door was broken. Pool design of bathroom/vanity area...it could have been divided to accommodate multiple people better. The room had two queen beds with some type memory foam that seemed very cheap. One small fold down table on the wall. NO chair, though a folding chair was brought to us on request. NO other table top, dresser, or counter to put anything from purse or pockets or other travel items. TOO MUCH DECOR stuff on vanity...a large orchid plant, a tall weed plant, two small wood table/chair items to hold complimentary shampoo and soap and a tall night lamp. There was little room for actual toiletries on the vanity. NO accessible ice machine, though the receptionist did bring us one container of ice on request. The "view" is mainly of the other building and there were "CLOSURE" signs plaster on all the doors of that building. Didn't see much of a garden view as advertised, other than a hammock and small table/chair. If you just need somewhere to crash for one night, it would suffice. But be aware of the lack of amenities. The room was clean and attractive, on first glance, but very minimal.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Very nice hotel I would strongly recommend - Although it is a small hotel, I was very surprised by the quality of the place and the staff friendliness. The rooms are spacious enough and they felt like home. The staff, and especially the owner, were very friendly and tried to make our stay very comfortable and pleasant. In spite of an unexpected incident, the owner, made everything possible, to minimize the impact on our vacation time and experience at this hotel. I would defensively chose this hotel again on my next visit to Yellowstone. The hotel is located in walking distance to many restaurants, gift shops and if you don't mind, about 10 min walking to the local grocery store.
- Pilar (8/5): Squeaky Clean! - Wonderful! Bathroom spacious, king bed very comfortable, TV the best.
Could use some coffee/tea-making necessities like swizzle sticks, diet sweeteners. Also need more electric plugs!
- Robert (10/5): Excellent Choice for Yellowstone visitors - Management was very helpful directing us to restaurants within walking distance. We chose this hotel because it is close to Yellowstone Park's West Entrance and were very pleased with the quality of the room. We especially liked the free laundry service after being on the road for a week.
- Ervin (8/5): A gem of a surprise! - We were apprehensive about this little place from prior reports, but soon got over that. Upon arrival, we learned from the very sweet Anya that we had a room on the second floor and there is no elevator. I asked her to try to get us a room on the first floor and she promptly called Mr. Tao, the owner. He came over and made a change to reservations and we were assigned a beautiful room on the first floor. Great beds, CLEAN ROOM, upper level amenities, including the first Keurig coffee maker I have ever seen in a hotel. We stayed two nights and enjoyed it greatly. Oh, and they have Apple TV, with a large selection of channels to choose from. I would definitely stay here again.
- Yutong (10/5): A very comfortable stay - This is the best hotel in our 10 days trip. The room is very clean (no blank and sheet, but real quilt). Decoration is very nice. There is even a curved LED TV mounted on the wall! They also put a humidifier in the room to accommodate people not adapting to dry climate (think about the wild fire in the park). The hotel seems a new one, so everything is like new. The only thing I can complain is there is no desk and chair in the room. But the two queen beds are so comfortable that we throw ourselves on the beds and lay out our map there to study the roads and trails. Their wifi is super fast.
This is a place I will definitely recommend to other people.
- David (8/5): - New motel with good basics. Comfortable bed. Nice decorating. Bedroom needs chest of drawers instead of simple shelf. Also no refrigerator or microwave. Nice Keith machine for coffee.
- Jay C (8/5): - Expensive, small room, new and comfortable. Cleanliness and decor makes a good first impression. No breakfast but a nice and busy McDonald's was only a couple of blocks east. Owner was very pleasant and helpful. Office now has sign. If you have trouble finding the place it is close to the landmark old water tower.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Pricey - We just stayed at this hotel 1 night. The beds were comfortable and room was quiet and clean, which are the basics. The Keurig coffee maker was broken and the shower was small. My biggest complaint was the price but I realize this was a resort town and all hotels/motels are pretty high.
- Bonnie (10/5): Lovely stay for the price - Nice room, clean bathroom with small shower. No true dresser or closet, no fridge or microwave. Limited Netflix (small selection of TV shows only) with less-than-reliable wifi. No one was in the office during morning check-out. Great skin and hair care products, full-sized blow drier, and Keurig in the room. Overall, lovely stay for the price and very friendly staff! Cleanliness was top notch! Would stay here again.
- sarah (4/5): Sad - Air coditioning didn't work .TV didn't work no place to set your suitcase but on the floor very tight room . Room was clean and the bathroom was nice. Other then that very over priced . Hope they improve
- Jess (8/5): No Frills, but New & Clean - Tao is new and clean with great beds, curved screen TV with Apple TV. It's a bit unusual in that there is no lobby, no amenities, no services. For the price, I would have expected breakfast and more amenities. The woman woman who checked us in was really friendly, but Tao had her working out of a store room, which seems unprofessional and did not give a good first impression; that store room was also extremely hot, and I felt badly for her. The coffee machine was in the bathroom, which was a bit weird, but it was a Keurig.
- Jeff (10/5): Off the beaten path - Very good and quant place in the great city like area of West Yellowstone! Japanese themed with a slight American/outdoorsy feeling. Everything was great accept the slow internet and no cable tv. It's all Apple TV that takes forever to load. Good stay though!
