Guest Reviews
- Kim Yong (2/5): - old place, no intl multiplug, place is dusty, no phone in room to contact recep,
made me paid 1800thb for stained bedsheets which Im not sure if its mine.
- Jose (10/5): - One of my favorite properties to stay at
- Angie (8/5): Nice apartment - Overall it was an okay place, little farther from the main sights. For a luxury apartment I was a little disappointed in the service (housekeeping every other day, note “front desk” is really only open during the day for concerns, no dish soap provided despite the kitchen, also shuttle that was advertised was non existent). Staff did respond via what’s app fairly quickly when asked questions. We had to leave a deposit in cash first day and that was returned after their walk thru on last day. Space was a good size and washing machine worked great. Grab app helped us getting around.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I use it often every time I come to Bangkok, but the more I go, the more I don't clean & manage the facilities. The wallpaper is torn and dirty. The water keeps dripping from the air conditioner. This time there is even a small trash in the trash can. The accommodation staff are kind, the facilities are good, and the room is spacious. It's a good accommodation.
- Jose (10/5): - My stay at this hotel was very pleasant. Staff was friendly, and the area was great near restaurants and stores for easy and convenient shopping. Otherwise quite a bit of a walk to the train station but an overall great place to stay highly recommend it
- RICHARD (10/5): - Fantastic place! Look forward to staying again!
- Verified traveler (2/5):
- Kanchana (10/5): - Very good
- Ahmet Sedat (4/5): Worse management l’ve seen in my life - Apartment location and facilities was good but it was very bad management because in 11 days they didn’t fixed very noisy Aircondation plus they complained small stain on linen , they threatened me if l don’t pay they will call the police ,of course l didn’t pay that was worse people l’ve seen in hospitality business, l wasn’t enjoy my stay there
- Tay (4/5): - Good location and nice staffs. Hotel room is old and run down. Cigarette buds were left behind by the previous guest. Microwave was dirty with food from the previous guest. Shower water has no pressure and defective shower head that spray water to every directions. One soap for the entire 3 days stay. TV in the room was removed.
- John (10/5): good spot to chill during the lockdown - so far our stay here has been very pleasant. the kitchen and utensils have come in handy as I was missing my wife's cooking. super market within walking distance. despite the lockdown service has been spot on. only here because of the lockdown but I would definitely recommend.
- Young sun (10/5): -
- Young sun (10/5): -
- Verified traveler (2/5): Seriously disappointing - Basically I liked this residence so I have stayed many times this property because it is a convenient location at Thonglor central area and budget price with a spacious room. It is a little out-of-the dated facility and there are sometimes missing kitchen wares but I think it is acceptable because simply it is affordable price.
however this time I really disappointed at this property, not because of out-of-the dated facility but there were many insects that include cockroaches. I found over 10 cockroaches at the kitchen, living area, and bathroom. no matter what price, I think insects' problems are neither negotiable nor understandable matter for like this residence hotel because it is simply very basic issue.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Laundry machine in room was broken, no extra towels or hand towels or face towels. Called down to get extra towels and they told us to leave the towel so they can pick them up and give us new ones. Didn’t expect to wait a full day for new towels to take shower. Hotel is very misleading be warned
- Laura (4/5): Very disappointed - I’ve stayed here 3 times before this. Never had a problem. This time was disappointment. One if the main reasons I stay here is because of the pool. Pool was closed because they’re renovating the building. Some days you could swim with a giant tarp over it (No thank you) the elevator was shut off for 5 hours one day, simple things like getting toilet paper took 3 calls and I still didn’t get it. When I called for customer service all I got was “I’m not sure” as an answer. I checked out 3 night early and got no refund because of policy but I just felt so cheated. I booked the Somerset hotel down the street for my last 3 nights in Bangkok and it was amazing
- Verified traveler (2/5): - I will not use this hotel again because amenities are not support everyday, air conditioner is water leaking during I stay that hotel even I claimed they didn’t fix it.
I am so angry about it.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Location was good. A little far from bts Station but great that they provide free tuktuk service to station
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Bath tub isn't working
- Thanh (6/5): not a four stars. don't believe the pictures. - hotel is not a four stars quality. bed is dated. limited lighting. ftont desk is hidden. staff not well trained. gave misleading answers. checkout took 20 minutes, because they did know where they put my deposit.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - No more tuk tuk service. far from BTS
Water is either hot or a bit cold
Reception only do check in, check out. I tried to borrow adaptor, they dont have them. No slippers provided.
Towel was old and torn.
Good things..
Spacious room size, friendly staff.
- QQ (4/5): - Reception staff was perfect; very friendly and communicates well.
1st night didn't go well as both aircons spoilt. Living roo aircon was dripping with water condensate and I had to put a container to collect the water. room aircon had unbearable noisy fan so I had to switch it off. These were fixed the next day but floor is wet and I had to use the floor mat to soak up water.
the room service is quite horrible. Asked for room service and she only comes around 6pm. When she come, she came with replacement towers on her hands only. Came in, change the towers, clean the toilets with dunno what, make the bed without changing the bedsheets, no vacuum of floor (I had to take the wet floor mat and mop the floor myself), and that's it. no replacement of toothbrush kit or shampoo/bodywash.
It wasn't like this the last time. Hoepfully this is one-off.
Then again for the price I paid, I am not complaining but giving a feedback to whoever is interested.
- CHRISTINE (6/5): 3stars review - We stayed in the 2bedroom suite on 20th floor 5days. The beds are very uncomfortable. We can feel the bed spring. Had to ask 5 times for extra blanket (to cover the springs). One flat pillow. Asked for extra pillow but no stock. Water for bath keep on changing hot and cold while showering.
But the bell boy and 3 ladies at front office very friendly and helpful. Very good.
- Patrick (10/5): Perfect for a short stay in BKK - Great apartment. Thong lo is a fantastic area to stay in Bangkok. A nice 10 minute walk to the sky train so it's easy enough to get about. Rooms were spotless and the bathroom was fantastic. Happy to stay there again!
- Tom (10/5): Nice serviced apartment for short to long stay - The apartment is nicely furnished and the kitchen is well equipped. It is excellent if you want to stay longer in Bangkok.
The tuk tuk was out of service during my stay. Walking to the nearest BTS station is around 20 minutes. It was not a problem to me. BTW the vehicle is back to service by the time I leave.
- Kalvin (6/5): - Location is good . Sofa is old . Air con didn’t work and had to change room . Bad smell in the room too
- Nicholas (10/5): Weekend Trip - Well they did overbooked our room but upgrade us to an apartment without any argument. The apartment was awesome though I did not make use of the kitchen except for the fridge and the glasses. It's about a 23 minute walk to the BTS which wasn't so bad but only because the weather was unusually cool.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Serviced apartment - I felt like “just one of many residents living in the big building” as opposed to a valued guest. I assume it is because the place is a serviced apartment, not an apartment hotel. The service was not good. We sometimes had to ask three to five times for service before being attended to, which included requests such as room cleaning as well as extra towels and pillows. You are given two bath towels, which you have to use at the pool as well because they do not provide towels at the pool. The pillows are thin and the bed is hard with no bedside tables, as there is no space next to the bed. TV picture is poor quality. Internet is slow and intermittent, which became worse towards the end of our seven-day stay.
Positives include the following:
Spacious and comfortable living room.
Well equipped kitchen.
Nice bathroom – Jacuzzi bath with separate shower.
Big swimming pool and sauna.
Air-conditioned lounge at the pool area.
Complimentary tuk tuk (prompt service).
A few supermarkets less than five minutes’ walk.
- Kenneth (10/5): - Could not fault the hotel. Room great, pool great and service very friendly and helpful
- Ian (10/5): Great place to stay, prefect for me. - Its a bit of a walk to the BTS but worth it. Great street food all around (just point at what you want to try and rub your fingers and thumb together and you'll get the price. No need to learn Thai) or an amazing restaurant across the street (or Soi for locals).
Soi 55 is one of the classier in the area, I really like it.
4-500m north will get you to the canals. What an experience of public transport, you might need a guide for that.
Room is an amazing layout, large bath (I'm 6'2"), comfortable bed, and and amazinv pool and gym.
I can't wait to come back
- david (10/5): clean and spacious. best for mid n long term stay - 1 bed room apartment style, comes with washing machine too.
- Syahrein (10/5): Good place to stay - Better internet connection than last time i went ... its top notch now just that need to clean the bathtub ask the machine will blow out some black particles
- Hsien Zhuan (10/5): My number 1 choice in Bangkok - Awesome!!! Always search for this residence when I am going to Bangkok.
- E Brooke (10/5): Great place and great service - In room facilities were outstanding. Defiantly will stay again
- A (2/5): Bad bed, sleeping on the sofa was better. - The bed was terrible, I would even say not for human use. Reception very bad and charged me for a broken washing machine claiming that broke it. Only 3 working TV channels with bad connection. The only possible good thing is the house keeping that kept the place clean and the size of the bath tub was good.
They even promised to change my room but didn't.
- kc (10/5): Nice & clean room - 2 bedroom suite is nice & big. The hotel is easy waking to shops & dining.
- Joshua (8/5): Decent hotel location within the Thong Lo area - Overall experience was decent, the room provided almost everything but lacked several items too.
They have literally a full kitchen set with utensils, glassware, pans, you name it they have it. Room is spacious and broken into 2 components, living room kitchen / bedroom.
They even have a washing machine in the balcony to do your laundry.
Things which I feel they should have provided are:
- Hand towels
- Room Slippers
- Facial tissue papers
- Abraham (8/5): Nice hotel with comfort room - The Staff is kind. The service is good. Barhroom with jacuzzi. Everything seems so great. But...
Hotel is about 1.8 km from the BTS Thonglo. I still choose it because the Property Amenities shows that they have free area shuttle. The first time when I asked for area shuttle on Sunday. The staff told me no service on Sunday. The next day, I asked for it again while it's raining heavily. But unfortunately, still "no servive". And the staff told me that will be still "no service" on Tuesday. So I have to walk to the BTS station in the rain. Well... bad experience.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Everything was awesome except the bed was uncomfortable, had backaches!
- Alegria (8/5): No worries! - Security is great! Location is a plus, close to Thonglor BTS and many eateries... Rooms are fully equipped with kitchenette! Washer/ dryer! Great rates!
- Shirley (6/5): Far Hotel from Thonglor BTS - Wasn't a pleasure stay as this hotel really needs many improvement
1) hots water supplied is not stable
2) tuk tuk service only sent out to Thonglor BTS, no pick up. Till 5pn only. NO service on Sunday
3) old room key system
4) room only provide bath towel NO hand towel or floor mat
5) bath gel n shampoo only provide 1 set ( at anytime only can use 1 time because is a small tube)
6)nice kitchenette but no kitchen towel or tissue.
7) only 2 pillows , no extra
8) tv signal is superb bad !
- Pensri (8/5): Good but not best - Overall is good. There are several functions of facilities inside the room are not in a good condition i.e. the bathtub water draining out function has been broken. But, there's no signage warning customer.
- Steve (10/5): Awesome staff! - The staff was most accommodating to all of my requests and reservation changes.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good value for 3 nights stay - Got a deal from Hotels.com, very good values and location. Only one thing was very bad TV signal that you can't watch anything.
- Kelvin (8/5): Convenient and Clean - Overall good stay. Except water heater not working properly.
Others are perfect ...
- Verified traveler (8/5): - A wonderful place to stay at, beautiful location. 10 minutes away from thong lo bts. Surrounded with amazing pubs and cafe. The ideal place to be for sure. I had a blast
- Supachok (8/5): Nice apartment with huge space - Great stay
- Anastasia (10/5): Very nice place - The outside area is very nice as well as hotel's property. The neighborhood is safe and clean, it's not far from public transport also it's not crazy touristic so you can enjoy your stay
- Verified traveler (10/5): - great location
- Kalvin (6/5): - Television set lacked an HDMI channel, where I could not connect my internet box to the TV. Bed mattress was hard. Shower water pressure was poor.
Location is great, pricing reasonable.
- ling fook (8/5): All that I am looking for in a sevice apartment - Ariva is one of the best service apartment i have stayed at in thailand. Staff are polite and their english is proficient. Good car park. Within minutes of walk to the nearby villa market. Peaceful n relaxing stay. Will be back soon.
- Casey from LA (10/5): My stay at the end of September at the IVY - This was not my first stay at the Ariva IVY Servizio. Nor will it be my last! The stay here is really quite different than most places in its category. It has a real uniqueness to it in that of the style of the rooms. Very suave and elegant. The pool is excellent. The pool floor is a great place for photos. Incredibly mastered the art on that one. Seems as if they also added some machines in the weight room. And just like last time the staff were most helpful and concerned about my stay. Always very cordial and well mannered.
I must brag on Naris once again as he was still working there. Also good to know that the turnover rate is low. Usually this shows signs of great management. The checkout times were flexible. Anytime I needed anything they actually sent someone up to my room to help out, and in a very impressively, prompt manner. Just incredible. I've said this before and I will say it again, you will not find staff like this at any other hotel in Bangkok, even going 5 star. Simply because these employees act as a real team and are sincere about you're stay and delivering any accommodations you need, and without haste. I truly cannot wait to get back to Bangkok and get to my home away from home at the IVY! And no this isn't an add and I was not asked to leave a review. This is just how happy I am and want future tourists to have the same wonderful experience that I did, AND luckily enough at the affordable price that we all seek.
- Casey
- V (8/5): Good Location and Nice Bed .. Comfortable as Home - Good place for me your trip look more comfortable as home
- Eiffile (10/5): Wonderful like home stay - We spent 2 nights here and environment are mostly classic restaurants and bars, Japenese area contain better quality and atmosphere.
- casey (8/5): Cozy apartment home style rental - I stayed at the Ariva for three nights. It was very comfortable. Felt like I was at home. Needs a better gym. The beds could be a little more comfortable. However it is equipped with everything you would need to live with an at home experience. The thing I would like to brag about is the staff. The staff treated me with real five star hospitality. If you are lucky, you will be blessed with the presence of Naris. He is by far one of the nicest, most cordial people that I have ever had the pleasure to handle all of my hotel needs. Every time I needed something he made it happen in a very prompt matter. He was very lenient with me as far as hotel pricing and check out times as well helped me with all of my taxi needs, not to mention how well he took care of my guests. Naris is truly one of the best hotel staff employees I have ever came across. I recommend this serviced suite along with the company of the best hotel staff in Bangkok as far as my concern goes
- lynne (6/5): - I was rudely woken up by hotel staff when I overslept on the date of chk out, with master key and no form of apology.
- Stephen (8/5): Not a hotel but nice - Situated inside a condominium
It's not really a hotel
It's kind of like a really nice air bnb
They take a few rooms inside a condominium and rent them out as a hotel
Bedroom bed is right up against Windows is small but living area and bathroom is big
Floor and doors very loud so whoever comes and goes you can hear
But the area is good with many trendy restaurants and hang outs
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great serviced apartment - It is not a hotel but a serviced apartment so you get more of a feeling that you are living in Bangkok. There was nothing particularly bad about this apartment. The furnitures in the room are a little bit old and could seem dirty, but overall, our stay was great. I loved the huge windows between the room and the living room, the kichenette, the gym and swimming pool. Also, it is on the main road of Thonglor, making the transportation very convenient. I would highly recommend this hotel and I would definitely consider staying there again on my next visit.
- Mark (6/5): Good location, but rooms need renovation - This apartotel has seen better days. The rooms are very dated and shabby, so really in need of renovation.
Great location and decent room size, but not quite worthy of the price paid per night versus other alternatives in the Thonglo area that are much newer or recently renovated.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Location, location, location! - The best thing about Ariva Ivy is the location. It is situated on the main Thonglor road (not in any inner sois) and there is a motorbike taxi stand right outside that takes you to the BTS station for 20 baht. There is also a 24hr MaxValue supermaket a 5 mins walk across the road, and 2 7-11s within 5 mins as well.
I stayed in a one-bedroom apartment and although the lobby is very impressive, the room itself is a little dated but still very clean and functional. For the price its great. One gripe was that the TV reception in the building was terrible and 80% of the TV channels were fuzzy and grainy. This is a building problem as I've stayed in several different rooms in this residence and all had the same issue. Another point they had to work on is the wifi (it uses a prepaid login for each device) which tends to log you out every 30 mins or so which is very annoying.
Other than that, I do like this place a lot as they do have a fantastic gym on the 5th floor amd the swimming pool is also pretty nice. Will be back!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Fantastic location, clean rooms, but horrible WIFI - The Ivy has a grand lobby, and its actually a mixed-development (not all rooms are under the serviced residences) as the building also seems to have permanent residents who own their apartments in the complex. The crowd staying here seems to be mostly for business, which is great for me.
I stayed in a 1-bedroom apartment and requested for a higher floor which was nicely accomodated by the front desk. It's not as luxurious compared to Oakwood where I previously was at, but for the price I paid it is a good enough value. The interior is a little dated and the bed was a little too hard for my liking but overall its still comfortable. The bathroom was a little too dark and was definitely showing its age, otherwise its still rather clean.
The only complaint I had was the wifi, and it was atrociously horrible. I was given tiny slips of papers with different logins (which expires in 3 to 7 days depending on your stay period) for each of the devices I had (I asked for 4), so had to login with a difference account for each device. The hassle was fine, but the wifi had a terrible system where it'll disconnect you and require you to login again every other 30 mins - 1 hour. This was extremely annoying when I had to do work or take Skype conference calls.
All in all, I would still be back just for the location and price if I know I wouldn't be doing a lot of work in the room on the computer on the trip. If not, I'd definitely have to put up somewhere else.
- Trung (8/5): Nice apartment type living in Bangkok - Nice service hotel in the Thonglor neighborhood of Bangkok. Not a full service hotel, but more of a hotel for extended stay. Felt like staying in a condo, instead of a hotel, which is nice. Bedroom was separate from the living quarters and there's a kitchen to cook, if you wanted to. Also an available washer/dryer on the balcony, which was an added bonus. Also, has two TVs (living and bedrooms). Only complaint was that housekeeping didn't show up one day till 8pm and there were lots of cigarette butts on the balcony ledge. Needs to be cleaned up!
