Guest Reviews
- Rhonda (4/5): - I didn’t have a pet
- Linda (8/5): - This is a classic, old-school roadside motel. The rooms are not fancy, but it is clean, comfortable and safe. It is well located for visiting Callaway Gardens or FDR Park, Little White House, Warm Springs.
- REnate (10/5): - very friendly owner , room was very clean
- Tammy (10/5): - This property is older, but it is clean, quiet and safe. We have stayed here before and will definitely stay here again.
Owners are very friendly and helpful.
- Paula (6/5): - Was okay. Nothing special, but a quiet place to spend the night.
- BRITT (10/5): - Owner was very nice. Thank you
- Virginia (10/5): Cute, Quiet, and Retro - Excellent customer service! Cute retro motel which has been renovated slightly. The room was spacious. The bathroom was a little outdated but I would stay here again. Very quiet and close to Callaway.
- John (4/5): - I was in a room that didn’t have a working heater. They refused to give me a different room. Instead they gave me a space heater.
- John (4/5): - Some of the rooms did not have working heaters. My 91 year old father did not have a working heater. They refused to move him to a different room. They gave him a space heater.
- Renato (10/5): - Quiet and peaceful
Very close to Callaway gardens
- Deborah (10/5): - Very friendly and accommodating. We arrived very late and the welcome was still great!
- Deborah (8/5): - Old woodsy place nice wifi tv reception good
- Denton (8/5): - Location
- Lori (10/5): - Room pleasant and very clean. Close to restaurants and Calloway Gardens.
- David (8/5): - Close to Callaway Gardens... Convenient for Handicapped access...No carpet (clean floors), small... and quiet!
- Linda (6/5): - The area was pretty and close to where we needed to be. The room wasn't the worst I've ever stayed in. The floor was sticky (I was happy it wasn't carpet), and some of the appliances could use a good cleaning. It's somewhat dated—the lamps need to be updated. The sheets were cleaned but had old small stains on them. The bathroom was in good shape. The clerk was very friendly. Despite some of the room issues, I would stay there again.
- Wanda (10/5): - Pleasant and cheerful staff and surround
- Deb (8/5): Decent motel - Room was comfortable but very dark. It was convenient to pull to the door and go in.The motel is old and has had some updating like the flooring is LVP. The furnishings were Elvis pictures. The bed was very comfortable and the TV worked fine. Its a decent place to spend a night while in the area.
- Jorge (10/5): - This is a quaint mid 20th century old fashioned motel tucked away in the rolling hills of central west Georgia. Beautiful scenery here. Great people at the front desk.
- Debra (10/5): Great place to stay - This was a quaint little motel close to Calloway Gardens which was great for us not to have to drive very far in the dark after seeing the lights. Staff was very nice and helpful. Clean and beds were very comfortable. Will definitely stay here again
- Jennifer (8/5): Would stay again. - The hotel is older but very clean. The check in was easy although old school. The owner was very nice.
- Norma (10/5): - The property is good for one night. It is clean, everything inside is old but in decent conditions. The sheet and towels were clean but stained.
- Bryan (10/5): - Reasonably price for an overnight stay.
- Megan (6/5): - It was a convenient and affordable location close to Calloway gardens
- brian (6/5): - Staff polite...Quiet
- James (10/5): Surprising - Went down for a 1 day event @ Callaway Gardens. Perfect little spot down the road. Checked in received good service, room was clean smelled good. everything i needed for a one night stay. i would go back.
- Gwendolyn (10/5): My stay - Very clean
Very private
Very quiet
Close to the wedding venue
Manager very kind.
Only thing big trash can outside the door smelled terrible!
- Lynda (2/5): - I had booked one night here for my aging parents because the place they had been staying did not have a room for Saturday night. When we showed up about 9:15 pm to drop them off, we did not even try to leave them there. The office was not open anyway, but the outside appearance of the place is NOTHING like the pictures show. $100 down the drain (my parents just stayed with us). My advice- drive to Lagrange if you can't find a room in Pine Mountain.
- James (2/5): - Facility is old, smelled of mildew and mold.. mattresses stained..we did not stay.
- Jason (8/5): - Cheap rate and quite with easy access.
- Rob (6/5): Great innkeeper. Rough property. - The keepers of this property are very nice. So, no comments from this point forward should be a reflection of how kind and considerate they were given that I wasn’t able to get to my room until close to midnight.
I knew that this was going to be a bit of an older property. But it needs a lot of attention. The AC unit is very old and the air. It spewed was very smelly most of the night. The water smelled bad when I showered. The shower did not drain and collected water and, I checked before I left, and the water was still in the bottom of the tub. The furniture is rough and needs repair, the door to my room, and many others needs a coat of paint or two. it is simply a property that has fallen into disrepair. You should note that it is really in the middle of nowhere. If that is what you are looking for, great. But it is not close to Lagrange.
- Charlotte (10/5): - Quiet. Easy for my husband to get in and out of. The employees were pleasant and helpful.
- Benny (8/5): - Good place to stay if you are looking for a lower rate and close proximity to the local area. Out dated for sure, but clean and comfortable enough with the necessities covered.
- Joseph (10/5): - Loved the location
- Rosa (6/5): - The location to where I needed to go was perfect. The heater in the room would not cut off at a desired temperature, so we had to cut it off and sleep in the cold. It just made too much noise to sleep. Other than that, it severed its purpose well.
- Colleen (10/5): - The service was amazing and our room was very clean and comfortable!
- Susan (10/5): Perfect spot - Very quiet, exceptionally clean, and the perfect location for visiting Callaway Gardens.
- DOLLIE (8/5): Nice area - First off the owners are the sweetest people&went out the way to help w/our issue. We arrived around 10pm & tv was not working. My husband informed the owner&he did his best to try get it working but no luck so the next morning we moved rooms. The rooms are cozy. Mini fridges did not really ever get cold. The bed in 104 was one of the most comfy beds we have ever slept on-room 105 not so much. We came for fantasy in lights at callaway&it was perfect location! Would def stay again!!!
- Amy (8/5): - Great little privately owned motel with no frills. Good price and the owners are great!
- Chris (8/5): Great time - It’s an older motel but really nice and the staff was very helpful
- Thelma (10/5): - Personal. Love motels that are very guest oriented.
Friendly and well taken care of.
Didn’t like was tub was a bit slippery
- Tammi (10/5): - Although this hotel is not a high rise. The owners are really nice. Quiet. Convenient to Poplar Place Horse Park. I do miss a continental breakfast but for the money i do recommend staying here. Definitely will keep coming back. And Mexican restaurant downtown is close and food good.
- Anne (10/5): Great stay - Great little motel, clean, plain Jane no frills but very comfortable. Check in was a breeze and super sweet person.
- Lakehsya (6/5): - The property is just ok.. we had stained sheets and the office closed to get more but we used the throws to cover the beds… that was the worse I’ve never seen anything as such! I wasn’t looking for perfect but at least decent… hopefully Things get better
- Veronica (6/5): Nice but if you need AC don’t stay - There is no air conditioning as advertised on this site. No vents, no window unit. Nothing.
The room and building are clean and have a friendly staff
- Frank (10/5): - Very convenient to the Poplar Place Horse Show venue .. Clean and a good value and it's pet friendly ..
- Melanie (10/5): - Beautiful, idyllic location and hometown feel. This is a place you come to let your hair down and put down pretenses and just rest and enjoy nature. It may not be the newest, hippest property with the most amenities, but it is a great stay at a really great rate. Relationship over franchise.
- Lynda (8/5): - Very friendly, kind hosts
Lovely, quiet setting
Convenient to local area venues
Affordable
Wi-fi was difficult, low service; used my hotspot
- Frank (10/5): - Very nice clean property located close to Hamilton GA - Fantastic staff accommodating horse show attendee’s at Poplar Place - Great Value! -
- Theron (10/5): - Older homey feel of the motel.
- Denise (8/5): - The accommodations for my service dog were great! I really appreciated when they saw I forgot to bring a bed and they brought out a quilt for just for Ellie. I will definitely come back when I’m in town again!
- Karen (6/5): - Front desk team sweet and helpful. Bed comfortable and bed and towels clean. Room musty smell. Coffee drips on floor next to bed and desk. Air-heating unit barely produced air and suffered from mold. Hot water tap in tub broken but I got it to work and nice hot water. Safety bolt did not work. It was what it was for a quick stop. For the price I felt okay. Allergy sufferers would not fare well.
- Lisa (10/5): - Enjoyed the convenient location to a FDR State Park & Pine Mtn. The owner of property, Ms. Barbara was gracious and kind. Room was very clean and I liked that it was non-carpet.
The only thing I would say that they could improve was the lighting in the room. The lighting was dim when the curtains were pulled. Other than that, I would highly recommend!
- Paul (8/5): - It was convenient for what we did and wanted to do. Staff was very friendly.
Water pressure in the shower was not as much as we would have liked. A little maintenance on the rooms is needed. Overall a very good value.
- Georgette (8/5): - The people are amazing! The room was clean. As an older woman traveling with a child, I felt safe. It was in a convenient area -close to Fantasy in Lights.
- ANDREA (10/5): - If you are looking for a 5 star resort. This is not it. If you are looking to support local and get a true feel for the locals. This IS your place. Very sweet couple with an adorable little dog. A trip back in time. Very friendly, I very much enjoyed their stories about the area. I would definitely stay again.
- Allyn (8/5): - Our room was very clean and quiet. The property has plenty of open area and our 2 dogs had lots of room to play outside! Nice picnic area with grills provided. Very close to FDR State Park and Calloway Gardens. I would definitely come back!
- michael (10/5): - Very friendly
- Charles (10/5): - Great Place
- Edwin (8/5): - This motel is fine for what it is. It’s convenient to Callaway Gardens. It’s clean and reasonably comfortable. The pillows could stand replacement. My big gripe is that there are no coffee makers in the rooms nor in the lobby. Their excuse: Covid of course! Our stay was in December 2021 when Covid, for the vaxxed at least, was a bad memory. No coffee because of Covid?! Give me a break.
- Tia (6/5): - Very outdated motel. Lil mom & pop place..
- Denice (10/5): - This is a property that is showing its age but still is maintained in great condition. The owners are wonderfully kind. The room is neat as a pin and the bed is comfortable. A microwave and small refrigerator are provided. Prior reviews states that there were no coffee pots provided. With this in mind, I packed my portable Keurig & life was good. I grabbed dinner to go at the Breaking Bread sandwich shop down the street and that was a treat as well. There is much to do in the area & when I go back to explore, I will be staying at Valley Inn.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Close to Callaway - The owners were extremely friendly and helpful. Hotel was very dated, but also very clean. It would be nice to have a coffee pot in the rooms, but other than that no complaints.
- Lauren (10/5): - This is covienently located near Calaway Gardens. The room was very spacious and clean. The owners were some of the kindest people you will meet. We highly recommend!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Homey atmosphere. Family run. Mattress was saggy. No frills motel. Nice stay.
- Brandon (10/5): Great place in the woods - Nice little place. Not fancy but nice reminds me of trips as a kid. It was clean and beds were comfy. Great place for the money
- Verified traveler (6/5): Quaint room - Built in 1958 by owner’s dad. Few improvements. Pricey for what was there. No coffee. Pedestal sink. Few outlets. Ok for short stay. No hair dryer but owner brought one when asked. No breakfast like most places. Stayed there cause nothing else around unless went to Callaway Gardens.
- Mary (10/5): - We stayed one night at this quaint lovely hotel. It was an older hotel but the well maintained. The beds were comfortable and the room was VERY clean. The floors were nice, I was happy to see no carpet it was a gray color and clean. The owners were so nice and very accommodating. I highly recommend this sweet little place. We will definitely stay here again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Definitely an older property but was well maintained and owned by nice older couple. If your looking for fancy this is not the place. But if your looking for a clean room and a pretty location and want to help a small business couple compared to a corporation then this is the place for you.
- Ashley (10/5): - The owners are fantastic and had candy canes for the kids. Super nice folks...great property.
- Lisa (10/5): Great motel - This is a older motel but very clean & comfortable. Very convenient for Pine Mountain & Callaway gardens.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Facility was dated, but had its own charm. Room was clean and the bed, while not plush, was comfortable enough. Was very convenient to Callaway Gardens.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Small inn one level only with a great staff. Parking at your door.
- Suzanne (10/5): Suzy's review of Valley Inn - Very nice. Would stay again.
- Harold (8/5): - Nice place that needs some updates which I understand is in progress
- MICHAEL (8/5): Great place - We love to stay here when we go to Callaway Gatdens. It is safe and friendly. We love the couple that manages the property. It’s like a motor court from the 50s.
- Verified traveler (6/5): It's Just a Room - It was a clean room for a night. Interior lighting was very poor. Clear that property has not had any updates for many years. Owners are friendly, welcoming and accommodating. It served its purpose. Felt very expensive for what you go and where it's located.
- Patriciat (2/5): Grounds are beautiful, motel is very outdated - The Managers were absolutely lovely. The room left much to be desired. The mattress was terrible, soft and old. Bedspread looked like it had not ever been washed. Carpet was filthy and old.
A/C vents filthy. I went barefoot on the carpet and my feet were black! Did that only once, then wore shoes.
The blinds were full of dust when I opened them. The pool was empty and broken.
They offer continental breakfast which is packed honeybuns and you are unable to get coffee until 9 am from the lobby. So my husband drove to get coffee at the gas station 2 miles away.
Would NEVER recommend this place! Only reason I chose it was it is 3 miles from Calloway Gardens.👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎
- Margy (10/5): Clean friendly perfect for Callaway gardens - Our room was very clean and comfortable. The staff was beyond nice and accommodating. This is the best place to stay nearby Callaway gardens. Rooms have fridge n microwave you won't get that at the resort.
- Nancy (10/5): Good price and nice people - This is an older motel, but it was very clean and comfortable. The price was the best in the area, as we were traveling with a pet and they are only one of the few pet-friendly places in the area.
