- WShank (10/5): Such a wonderful stay - DoubleTree Asheville Downtown - Such a wonderful stay. The DoubleTree Asheville Downtown is situated right in downtown. Next to the Interstate for quick on and off. Two walking blocks from Grove Arcade. 3 walking blocks from Patton & College. Awesome location. Rooftop bar, while a bit small, is super cool. Try to lock in a reservation as it fills up fast. What really set our trip apart was the service! Shanna and Lynn at the Front Desk were really helpful and friendly. Shanna was an absolute delight! Housing had Ignacia and Cecillia, who were both rockstars. We loved these ladies, and their thoroughness and willingness to help. DoubleTree by Hilton Asheville Downtown at 199 Haywood Street, Asheville, NC is going to be our AVN home away from home here on out!

- WBrianwatson (10/5): It was a great hotel - They had self parking on site, it did cost $25 a day, the complimentary cookies were delicious, the breakfast buffet was $16 a person but it was very good, the Rooftop grill and Bar was closed for a private event the first night we were there we did get the experience the food and drinks and they were very notable. The staff is extremely friendly throughout the establishment. The hotel was within walking distance of several shops and dining establishments. There was no microwave in our room.The hotel across the street blocks your view if you're located on that side of the hotel. There was a side view shown in the picture. Parking costs $25 a day. Breakfast was an additional charge, and if you ordered off the menu, it was an additional charge on top of the additional charge. Coffee was not complimentary all day. Salvation Army was two doors down, and walking to shops and places to eat was encountered with some homeless asking for money.

- Sana (10/5): Amazing Town and people fell in love - We were on a long wrong trip from NY to GA and decided to stay in this small town on our way back. This was the best hotel of all. The staff was courteous and extremely nice and the hotel was gorgeous and the location was perfect. I never heard of this town before but I fell in love with its beauty and character. If someone is hiring for HR roles reach out I wanna move there from NYC 馃榿 Nothing at all, everything was perfect

The location was really close to downtown. Our room was on the 7th floor. The rooftop bar was right above us and at night we heard EVERY chair that was scraped across the floor. I was surprised there wasn't better sound proofing.

The pool was not available and I didn't get my cookie or water bottle which I saw others get. I know it sounds trivial but the price was expensive. Parking should have been included.

Unfortunately, all three of us found the beds to be quite uncomfortable (hard) and we had a poor experience one evening ordering food in the Dogwood Cafe (restaurant next to the bar). The food was cold and looked like it was made by a 10-year-old. Management apologized and addressed the issue, but I cannot recommend it. Not even worth the extra miles that we got with partner American Airlines.

- destinationamor (2/5): Disappointing Stay - My husband and I checked into this hotel on 1/17/2026 somewhere between 8:00-8:30 PM. We only booked the hotel for one night and had planned to extend our stay if we had a good experience. Where do I start? Okay, first let me disclose that we are an African American couple and we have Hilton Diamond status. We travel a lot and have stayed in a lot of hotels within the Hilton network inside and outside of the USA. This is the first time that we have ever felt so discriminated against because of our ethnicity. Upon check-in, the young white lady who checked my husband in was very cold and unfriendly. She never acknowledged his Hilton Diamond status, nor did she offer an upgrade which we found odd. Anytime we stay at certain hotels (Canopy, Conrad, Curio, Doubletree, Graduate, LXR, NoMad, Signia, Tapestry, & Waldorf Astoria) within the Hilton network, we are automatically given an upgraded room and thanked for our Hilton status. They were not at capacity so that excuse can鈥檛 be used. Even if the Hilton brand hotel does not offer free upgrades, we are thanked for our Hilton status and given a bag with water and sometimes snacks depending on the Hilton brand hotel. Nevertheless, she asked my husband if he wanted water to which he replied yes and she gave him water without even putting the water in a bag. Lastly, she told him that he couldn鈥檛 park in spots 1-4 when we saw other guests parking in those spots. They weren鈥檛 handicapped spots so I was confused by that. Next, we put our luggage in the room and went down to the bar area to order food. Our food took forever to come out. When we first got to the bar, we weren鈥檛 greeted right away. However, I noticed that each time a white person or couple came up, there was so much enthusiasm towards them. They were acknowledged right away. There was an older white lady who came and sat at the bar near us, and she was so nice to us. She also noticed everything as we did. So, this was confirmation that none of this was in our head. From the time that we first got there, there was this Asian looking guy (employee) who was just sitting at the bar. Finally, instead of him acknowledging our presence, he had Kelly come take our order. She didn鈥檛 seem overly enthused to help us, but she did. There was a white guy with a long white beard who came over to the bar, and he acknowledged all the white patrons and checked on them but never looked our way nor acknowledged us. I thought that was very disgusting of him. He continued this same behavior the entire time we were at the bar. Also, the person who was cooking in the kitchen came out of the kitchen to the bar area while making our cheeseburgers I鈥檓 assuming and had 2 slices of cheese in each hand slapping them together while talking to Kelly. The worker did not have gloves on and was talking over the cheese spraying God knows what germs while talking. Kelly overheard me say something about the cheese and she said she would have the burgers made over without the cheese. I never asked for the burger to be made over, I asked for no cheese after I saw what I saw. She brought the burgers out. They were overcooked. My burger was ordered without tomatoes and onion because I have a slight allergy to fresh tomatoes. Neither of our burgers had the housemade sauce that was advertised to come on the burger. I didn鈥檛 complain because Kelly seemed irritated and I just wanted to get back to my room. Besides if I would have said something, I would have been labeled a mad black woman. NONE of the white employees (not just the bar employees) were friendly towards us or acknowledged us. They truly treated us like we were invisible. From what I saw, this hotel lacks diversity in its staff. I totally blame upper management for this and the way the white employees behaved. I had reservations about coming to Asheville because of the mindset of towns like this in the USA. The racism here was blatant. The sweet white patron who treated us better than the staff members, I pray God blesses her tremendously because she made the experience tolerable because of her kindness. She was not from Asheville nor the state of NC which is most likely why she wasn鈥檛 being a racist jerk. Nevertheless, we chose to not extend our stay and we went ahead and checked out of this hotel after one night. This experience left a bad impression to the point where we decided the reputation of Asheville not being welcoming to African Americans was true. For that reason we got on the interstate and made the 3 and 1/2 hour drive back home. Again, I blame management for the employees behavior. The employees can only feel comfortable enough to do this because management has allowed it. If you are African American, stay at your own risk. It鈥檚 sad because the rooms are nice and the beds are comfortable. Definitely, waiting patiently on that Hilton survey.

I would stay here again. - From the moment we checked-in, I have to say that the receptionist, I think her name was "Lynn," was extremely friendly and accommodating. Her pleasant demeanor was the difference for me. I wish every receptionist working there had her pleasantness. Housekeeping staff were very pleasant. Other front desk staff weren't as pleasant as our first person we encountered. A couple of the breakfast staff seemed overwhelmed....perhaps understaffed.

We used the hotel as our base as we planned day trips to the Biltmore Estates, The Great Smoky Mountain, drives along the Blue Ridge Parkway and Pisgah National Park. The staff was very friendly; especially Lynn at the front desk. She was helpful with restaurant suggestions and things to do. We looked forward to her greeting us back at the end of our busy day. The room was very clean and breakfast and morning crew were nice too.
- markeN216WD (2/5): Don鈥檛 stay at this location. - The experience started with check-in no valet available and I paid $28 per day for the service, room had items not serviced tissue/hand towel/coffee/water/glasses, no one working the lobby restaurant and bar, went to roof top bar Montfort at 4:00 ordered a short rib sandwich that was served burnt and I do mean black the cook tried to hide the burnt meat and bread by turning it to the inside complained the server who asked what did I want to do? Manager was shown the sandwich he (Joel) who never came over to apologize for the terrible sandwich we declined another food item due to a very bad kitchen staff no effort to make me happy I have been in foodservice industry since 1973 and never received a badly burnt food item. The desk staff had to park my car twice, no security for the parking lot with homeless walking around everywhere, and hand sanitizers did not work, no evidence of room sanitizing we always bring wipes for phone/tv controls/door handles and cabinets-desk. I have been a Hilton member for over 30 years worse experience I have ever had. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION

- Robert (6/5): - The staff at the Hilton were exceptionally attentive, accommodating, and displayed a warm, friendly demeanor, which made us feel welcomed from the moment we arrived. However, our stay was significantly marred by the room鈥檚 location, directly adjacent to a noisy function room on the top floor. On the first night, we were disturbed by loud sounds of furniture being moved or carts being rolled, which persisted well into the evening. The second night was no better, with the noise continuing until around 11 PM. This level of disruption was far below the standard we鈥檝e come to expect from a Hilton hotel, and it left us deeply disappointed. Additionally, we were surprised and frustrated that no boxed breakfast was offered, despite our early departure the following morning. This small gesture would have gone a long way to improve our experience. On a positive note, the hotel鈥檚 other facilities, such as the well-maintained indoor heated pool, were enjoyable and a highlight of our stay. Overall, while the staff and amenities showed promise, the noise and lack of consideration for early departures significantly detracted from our experience.

Roof top bar and dining area downstairs had shareable dishes but they did not offer sandwiches or any other dishes you would normally see. Their habit of constantly submitting random changes to my credit card to supposedly cover incidental expenses was irritating since I received a notice each time. Why not increase the original amount or just wait until checkout.

Traffic noise on the side of the building facing the highway is LOUD. The rooms are equipped with white noise machines but it doesn鈥檛 make for a great experience. We were on the 4th floor. Maybe it鈥檚 better on other floors.
