- David (10/5): A classy, quiet escape. - Breakfast at the Hearthstone Restaurant was very good. The lodge was a significant step up from the usual hotel/motel experience. Just the right balance between vintage decor and modern conveniences. the antique furnishings and classiic-style architecture made one feel transported to a more relaxed time. A quiet location and friendly people. The driveway could use some smoothing.

The double jet tub is a must! This place will change your perception of affordable luxury. We highly recommend it. We didn't like that we did not Reserve another night to explore the area.

- Cheryl (6/5): - We were locked out at 9:30 on a sat due to no signs in room telling you not to lock your deadbolt as room key does not un lock it. Not 24 hr front desk. No lights from parking lot to front, side or front of lodge where you enter at night. You are in the middle of no where and it’s pitch dark. We paid for river view room, and from first floor, middle room, you can not see River. When calling number to get into lodge when locked out, owner was rude and told us we could get refund and find another place to stay. Miss representing your hotel is not our fault, then try to shame us and say we can leave. Although the area is beautiful and peaceful as others have described, it is not represented correctly when booking on line. When in person the staff thinks you rude when you mention that you wish you didn’t have to drive to town to get your free breakfast. Although they may find this normal in this 1200 person town, this would not be acceptable any other place without your guest knowing this at time of booking. There is no excuse for charging guest for a river view when there is none from their room.

We didn’t talk to the staff very long , it was the lady that checked us in , she was nice , but didn’t tell us much about dining options , so we had to figure it out on our own . The breakfast at the cafe was yummy, And the staff there were very kind . If we ever make it up there again , I would definitely stay there !

- Verified traveler (8/5): Quiet Location, lots of space, great staff - We arrived to Melissa handling a high maintenance guest in a fantastic and patient manner. She apologized for the time spent with that guest and quickly got us checked in without issue. Room was large, and connected to the back deck. Beds were good. Pillows good. Good soaps and nice shower but my wife had no hot water for her shower. I found mine hot a couple hours later. Motorcycle parking, but not under cover. Location was great. Could not hear the highway below at all. Quiet. Breakfast was large and hearty, coffee good, and staff at breakfast were great! Worth the cost in our opinion.

- Robert (6/5): - THIS IS NOT A MOTORCYCLISTS FRIENDLY HOTEL!! I repeat, not motorcycle friendly. The hotel is beautiful, but the driveway is terrible. Steep and rough gravel. I am told 6 different motorcycles have wrecked on the driveway. To build such a beautiful place and not pave the driveway makes no sense to me. By car, it is a tough driveway too. I have such mixed feelings since it is so beautiful. There is a second, unmarked, entrance that is not so steep, but it is also gravel. Not all motorcyclists are outlaw bikers. Just people who enjoy traveling on 2 wheels.

I wasn’t particularly fond of the breakfast arrangement which involved driving to an affiliated restaurant. The food was very good but the place was very busy and service was not very quick because of that.

We rode motorcycles and initially had some difficulty turning into gravel from highway. We made it up hill, but were concerned going to town for dinner and driving up road after dark. The hotel arranged for transportation to dinner for us. We had a great time there!

- Suzanne (2/5): Owner doesn't honor reservations not dog friendly - The included breakfast IS NOT ON THE PREMISES, you will have to travel into town, your choices are slim and you need to get to the restaurant very early or the wait is insanely long. But it's the only restaurant open in the morning.

- Chantel (9/5): Always A Great Stay!! - This was our third stay and we have loved it every time. The atmosphere of the lodge is so cozy and quiet. The room was very spacious, comfortable and well kept. We liked that there were plenty of lights and outlets in the room. Also loved the large jetted tub and the bathrobes too! The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The room (202) was very nice however our reservation stated we had a river view room so we assumed we were on the river side of the lodge. This was not the case as our room was on the end of the building (not on the river side) and had a very small view of the river that you could only see by standing in the corner of the room and looking out the window around the side of the building. Other than the room description being a little misleading, the room was great!

Enough horizontal surfaces to put stuff. Very nicely decorated. And clean! Walking access to river via underground tunnel.

- Pamela (10/5): A wonderful place to stay. - The Hearthstone Lodge is an excellent, newer facility two miles north of Kamiah along the Clearwater River. The rooms are very spacious and there's a large common area for sitting. The room also had a jacuzzi tub which was a nice surprise. Their breakfast is served at their restaurant in town which offers full menu of options. Nothing comes to mind, it was all good.

- David (10/5): Wonderfully spacious, comfortable, and elegant inn - The room was beyond expectation. It was very spacious and comfortable with a wood burning fireplace and wonderful jacuzzi. There were sitting areas outside both the front and back doors. I wanted to go for a walk, but the only option was along the highway.

- Lynne (8/5): - This property was well cared for but the front desk was not manned the entire time we were there. You had to walk to a cottage to get someone to check in. Quirky lodge that locks the doors at 10 pm, but the whole town closes by 10!
- Eric (10/5): Perfect stay - The ambiance of the lodge was so quaint. The room was very spacious and comfortable and incredibly clean. It was probably one of the best nights sleep I had in a long time. The bathroom had a large jacuzzi tub. There was plenty of natural light because of the large windows. For breakfast we were given a voucher for the local bakery. That breakfast was delicious and filling. This was perfect location. The only thing I didn't like was the shower head. Yes, silly, but it was hard to rinse my hair because the lack of water pressure and calcium build up on the shower head.

(You get a free breakfast included with each night's stay) We will be returning to this hotel every visit to Kamiah!

- Stacey (9/5): Luxury room at a very good price! - Beautiful place to stay. Close to restaurants and stores. Quiet and comfortable. Wonderful breakfast served at their restaurant a few miles away. The ice machine was broken and no way to get ice after check in Friday night.

- Jeff (9/5): Warm your toes in front of the fire in a cozy cabin by the river. - While breakfast was served in their restaurant in town, the food was great and our waitress was really something special, and served our youngest a truly eye-popping platter of (absolutely delicious) biscuits and gravy. We stayed in one of the log cabins which had a large sleeping loft for the parents and a nice 2-bed room for the kids. We used the ready-to-go woodstove and turned off the heater for a really nice evening. Good hot water for the shower. An osprey was raising a family in a bent tree behind the main lodge which was cool to watch. 5-minute walk to the river from here. No real view of the river from the cabin, and upper bedroom got a surprising amount of early morning road noise. Not much to do in the area in mid-April, so some more paths or a larger spot along the river to sit or picnic would have been good.
