• Wendy (6/5): - Hotel wanted $200 damage deposit plus payment of the hotel nights in full. It took me 1.5 hours to complete my checkin as there was a young asian guy and I was lost in translation for a long time. I have never heard of hotels making you pay an upfront deposit plus hotel nights in full upfront..... totally frustrated by the time I was done and building I would rate a 2* and room was ok, bed was really comfortable.
• Matthew (6/5): Dis -satisfied - Quiet Arrived and room was not cleaned then got put in another then went to go to bed and the bed n sheets stunk of body odour .Maybe just a hiccup but I know I will not be staying there again
• Bette-Jean (2/5): - The room was extremely filthy, I found a pipe behind the nightstand. Towels seemed flimsy and gross, the walls and the couch were full of stains. For somewhere that offered a kitchenette, there were barely any utensils or dishware. I had to go to the store and purchase disposable items for my stay. And the cherry on top, the room stunk. I had no choice but to purchase air fresheners for the duration. Eww...don't recommend!!!

Got a voucher for breakfast that didn't start until 6 so no good for oilfield start times. Got a coupon to get 15 or 20 bucks towards a meal at the steakhouse, Whole restaurant was temporarily closed when I was there, thanks for the useless coupon. The remote rooms property was unplowed, needed 4x4 to get through the drifts. Do not recommend

My stay was for Saturday November 23,2024 & I have still not received my damage deposit back. Will never stay there again. Want to be refunded the $200 damage deposit ASAP!!!

Staff person was expecting and ready for us though we pulled in early in the AM--she told us what we needed to know before we could ask. Cheerful and helpful staffperson the next AM, which was especially appreciated after a short night's sleep. Breakfast in a bag was OK--at least we were given a slip of choices rather than not knowing what was in the bag until we'd have opened it. But at the rate for the room, it was better than nothing for breakfast, when we had to get going early after such a short night for us.

• chris (4/5): - We were three guests…had two towels,had to drive to get more if we wanted them. The facecloths were sour!!!! Also only two coffees …again… drive to office to get more! And only given two more even though there was three of us!!! Bedding was threadbare, top sheet on one bed dirty…carpet was really dirty…. Would never re commend this to anyone. Had to pay extra for youth travelling with us and not provided with appropriate towelling or anything else without driving to the main location…not exactly convenient if travelling late.

• Delbert (2/5): Dump- Vill stay away Yes, sure - My thoughts, owners need to be held to account for selling room in such a dump. Roof was sagging, bare light bulb hanging, tiles in bathroom were separated and jagged. Everything was old, worn and sad. Shame on the owners, no really , you should be ashamed of scamming unsuspecting travellers!

• Martin (6/5): - It’s not a bad place for a night or two while hunting or fishing type thing, the room was clean and warm. However the lights were inconvenient, one bulb in the hallway and an old desk lamp. The flashing light on the phone was horribly bright and the wifi went down for one day. For a few dollars investment in a touch of modernization it would be a solid 3 star place. As is it’s a 2 1/2 star.

• Melanie (6/5): - I like being able to park in front of my room and having plugin for vehicles available. The one annoying thing is the heating/ac unit temperature control doesn't work. If you set the temp and leave the unit on eco heat the room temp keeps increasing to uncomfortable levels, and if you set the temp and put the unit in a/c the temp continues to cool to uncomfortable cool temps.

• Verified traveler (4/5): - I wasn't happy with the hotel as it wasn't what was shown in the pictures. There were no pictures for the outside of the hotel so you didn't know that it was a very old building. The lot wasn't plowed so you had to plow through the snow to get to your room. The bathroom door was coming off it's hinge and the tiles were missing grout. This is more a place for rig workers to stay. The lady at the desk didn't seem to be worried that it wasn't what was advertized. They also did a double pre authorization for the full price of the rooms (we had two) together. So instead of only pre authorizing the price of each room seperately, they did the full price of both rooms twice which I've never had before. I'm still waiting to see if it will come off my credit card. Overall I was very disatisfied with the hotel. I would never recommend it to anyone.
• Cassie (4/5): - The sheets and the blanket on one of the beds had obvious large staining. Seems like a simple fix. The heater was louder than it could have been.
• Kirsty (8/5): Did not honour rate booked - Booked through hotels-rate for double room was the same for 1 person or 2 but upon check out the rate was more than through the site. When questioning the lady at the front she said well it’s because you had more than 1 person in the room-checked the hotels site at the rate for a room for 1 person or 2 next weekend and the rate did not change. Normally I do not complain but this upset me so will also add we had another couple guys with us(not booked through hotels) and when we went with their room upon arrival it had a lot of flys in it and a beeping fire alarm-the fix was to remove the fire alarm whole. Hotel seems pretty greedy! Will likely not go back.

The other bed was even softer. We prefer semi-firm beds. I would hope the other building would be in better condition. Would not recommend this older building because of the beds.
• Verified traveler (4/5): Good breakfast, rough condition - The breakfast is the best part, which was really quite good. The heat worked well in the room, which Waldo good. The service at the front desk was also pleasant. The condition of the room; not so much. The bed spreads were dirty, the tap at the bathroom sink wasn’t attached and you had to hold it in place while using it. The lights were just bare lightbulbs on the ceiling. Very rustic.

• Jamie (8/5): Ckean no frills motel - This is a no frills place. They are completing renovations and working hard to complete it before winter. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was great and ciffe was really good. The place was clean and accommodating. Only complaint was traffic noise through the night as I am a light sleeper.

Entering the room, there was a lots of dirt on the floor, the heating had been turned off and in winter conditions, it is not fun to arrive in a cold and humid hotel room.

• Verified traveler (8/5): - Only needed it for the night as I was travelling to GP.....it was a pleasant surprise. The outside of Horizon 2 is deceiving. It was dark and a little ominous (I arrived at night), but the room was excellent with new fixtures. It was very large, bright, and clean.

• Phyllis (8/5): Rough outside very nice room inside! - The grounds are poorly kept including a building in the property that was severely damaged by fire. In spite of this the rooms are updated, roomy, clean & comfortable. Nice kitchenette. A made to order breakfast is included at the restaurant 2 blocks away. This is a great value, don't be deterred by the looks from the curb.

Complimentary hot breakfast was very generous for getting a room like that for the price offered!

• Verified traveler (10/5): - We were stopping in Valleyview for the night, driving through. For what we needed, a clean, inexpensive (bed bug free) place to stay, this hotel was perfect! We had originally booked in Horizon 2 because 1 was sold out, but when we got there the lady asked if we’d like to stay at Horizon 1. It was perfect. A nice big parking lot for our truck and trailer. The rooms were clean. The beds were very firm, which didn’t bother me too much but the pillows were good. Even though we didn’t take advantage of the free breakfast, you can go to the restaurant and eat in the morning. We will me making this a new staple stop in the future.

• Steve&Stace (4/5): - We had been traveling a distance and arrived at this hotel for a short staycation as we were traveling to start our actual vacation, and needed a place to sleep, after arriving late, for just one night. The front desk attendant serving us and taking our money, to stay at this hotel should have been given a hospitality course.

• JD (6/5): - Not very cozy, check in was long. Upon arrival we asked to be moved to Horizon 1 as it looked much nicer (there are a few 100m apart) and they didn’t accomodate. One bed was a little dirty, towels are brown and the blankets were interesting. This being said I still slept well but I would probably not stay here again.
