It was the perfect spot for my short sabbatical. Next time I'll stay longer Due to my walking disability, I found the very slight incline a bit challenging for my balance.

Sonia (9/5): Good affordable pet friendly stay - The beach area and location. Pet friendly is nice too without fee. Owners were welcoming and friendly. Would have liked more/ better amenities offered for better comfort such as more & better air conditioner options and fans as the cabin was very hottt in the day time but then got very cold at night and couldn’t find extra blankets around. Would be a nice touch to offer some coffee and firewood even if it was for sale. Also super noisy at night with the highway right there and the shower ran out of hot water in 2 mins so had to take a cold shower unfortunately and there was no heater around either.

Victoria (8/5): Relaxing Getaway! - Super cute older property on a lake. Great grill, picnic table and sitting spot in front of our cabin. Comfy bed. A bit smaller than expected, kitchenette was nice to have but needed to be better stocked (we only had one butter knife, no can opener, one ok steak knife and one terrible one, only two spoons). Don't plan to really cook a meal inside, it's not set up for that. Water also comes out of the faucet white/cloudy but clears.... I'm sure it was ok and we used it to wash ourselves and dishes but didn't drink it. It is on a busy road, so there was traffic noise when youre outside. If you bring a dog, be aware there's really no place to walk him on the property, but there's a great state park walking trails about a mile down the road.
Sharon (10/5): Peaceful New Hampshire lake experience from times past. - The experience of a vintage New Hampshire cottage complete with screen porch, fire pit, and picnic table with but with modern interior updates. Modern bathroom with good shower, comfortable beds, window AC, internet and tv with HULU. Great place to use as a base for lengthy attraction day trips or quiet respite but not a lot around for stores, restaurants, supplies. Right on route 4 so no safe walking off property.

Graham (10/5): - These were cute little cabins, rustic, but clean and tidy with everything there for staying for awhile. AC too. We were on the water and the geese welcomed us in the morning! The cabin had a screened in porch with comfy chairs. There was a nice little beach with kayaks to use, a fire pit and firewood for each cabin. The bed was comfy. It was nice and we would definitely visit again.
Elizabeth (10/5): Idyllic spot on a lake with kayaking and fire pits. - Unique property with a handful of colorful cottages on a beautiful lake. Went kayaking with my son which was the highlight and then made a fire in the evening. The hosts were lovely. The woman behind us kept yelling from the beach to her family at the cabin and the man was listening to a podcast without earphones which annoyed me.
Cayer (10/5): The neon shacks and the kind souls with the secret tiny heaven scenery-top notch! - My pink crevis of heaven- I liked the fact that I have not been to visit my bright neon cabins on Harvey lake for probably 6 to 7 years and I booked a night with my two year old after seeing it on booking.com. The first time I experienced this amazing little hidden gem but during bike week and the little vibe of cabin party was amazing. That was before baby days and it’s clear that no matter whether it’s the depths of bike week in the local Laconia area, or a family with toddlers type of camping fun …This place is a straight up vibe . Every single person in those rentals agreed with the amazingness and it’s a hidden gem in a place where people can escape without going anywhere…and it’s one big beautiful spot with the world most adorable neon shacks …but hands down-the porch is life! Private, clean, simple and the owners are the reason it radiates like it does because they run a business they care about and they create a big cabin family along the way. Kind is an understatement and I even got a thoroughly pleasant visit when I arrived and got handed a mug which happened to match the cute candies that are all personalized in their business logo. These owners are nailing everything in a big way and I hope this place stays around forever. True perfection. Not one goddang thing. If I did need something or had something to tend to, they were extremely kind and already ten steps ahead.

Tracy (8/5): - I called a couple hours early to see if we can check in early and she said we can. She gave us our code to get into our cottage and said she would check on us later which she did. Very friendly and asked if we needed anything and gave us a mug to remember our time here. Bed was VERY comfortable. The only thing was the heater didn’t seem to work very good unless we should’ve turned it up. But all in all I think we would stay again.
Erica (8/5): nice spot on the lake - There are only a few cottages so not a huge crowd. The neighbors were very quiet. The cottage has everything we needed, albeit small. The bed was very comfortable. it was great to be able to sit outside on the screened in porch. The cottages are right on the lake. The green cottage we stayed in was old and could use some updating and refreshing of pillows on chairs. The street noise is pretty substantial/more than we expected, but we slept with ear plugs which was fine. Unfortunately the internet was very spotty which made TV watching impossible.

The host was welcoming and immediately responsive. The cottage suited our needs for a short stay--two nights. We particularly liked the screened in porch area overlooking the lake. We would consider staying here again. We didn't dislike anything but feel that some small improvements might enhance the property---a lamp on the bedside table (so that the overhead lighting isn't the only option); something to place soap & shampoo on in the shower; dish soap and basic cleaning supplies, a small cutting board.

Only a couple of concerns: the air conditioner was old and never stopped running (it didn’t interfere with out sleeping) and the shower was more of a mist instead of a spray. My wife was afraid to wash her hair. She was concerned about being able to wash out the soap. However, we would consider staying there again if we were in the area.

Heather Marie (8/5): - I loved these cottages. It felt like a little community right on the lake. Everyone was friendly, staff and other guests included, and the proprietor Nancy even gave us a customized mug for our stay. The lake is serene and is great for boating and swimming. They have a lot of kayaks and water toys for your use. The cottage itself was cozy; we loved having the front porch to relax on and watch the sun over the water. It comes with a pretty complete kitchenette that we would have utilized more if we were spending more time in the cottage. The bed was pretty uncomfortable, it was too firm and our muscles definitely hurt after a few nights on it. We also wish there had been more hooks/shelves to put things like wet towels and bathing suits. We would definitely return!
Mrs. (10/5): Exceptional - Cottages came with all the essentials and was cozy and on the beach. It was in a great location and will definitely be coming back The beach could be a bit bigger especially having seaweed cleaned up as well.

Kelly (8/5): the upgraded first floor with large bathroom, the amazing kitchen and access to kayaks made this fabulous family vacatio - the lake view is phenomenal. neighbor cabins were very courteous. All of us guests seemed to be dog-oriented so that was a huge plus! W/D with all of us in the big house was a great amenity. the big house fit is all and we were able to have company in/out to visit all week without feeling crowded!! it was a fabulous fun family time. absolutely nothing these lovely owners can do but the proximity to a very busy roadway made me nervous. it was loud for sensitive sleepers
Georgianna (4/5): Not comfortable. - The view was gorgeous The shower was not acceptable, hardly any water and the warm water ran out in 5 minutes. The room was freezing Cole with gaps under the door and in the windows for cold air to seep in. The furniture was old and it was not very clean.

Kathleen (8/5): Very good - The owner is wonderful and extremely accommodating. The cottage is adorable and right on the beach. Kayaks, grill, and firepit are available. The mini stove/sink/fridge combo is awesome and makes it very easy to heat leftovers or prepare a snack. Cottage could maybe be arranged a little better for storing clothes. Definitely need a full length full mirror, but otherwise facilities are quaint and perfect for a getaway.

Jacqueline (9/5): Superb - Nancy and Lee were very accommodating. They made sure we had everything we needed. The hot water was a bit of an issue as it runs off a little water heater. Brought it to their attention and they went as far as to replace it. Water was still not getting hot enough to take a shower but that's cabin life I suppose. Still a great stay! Lack of hot water.

Gary (6/5): - The owners were accommodating. The place was clean and the bed was comfortable. There are good places to eat nearby. There is also a grocery store, not too far away. They have nice gas grills at each cottage and screened in porches. But...the salmon cottage was just too small for the two of us. The cottage was leaning toward the lake and sits just off a busy highway. It is a one room bed, and kitchenette with a dorm type refrigerator. The "beach" area was a small area in front of another cabin. The kayaks and paddle boat left a lot to be desired, but they are free to use. There may have been better ones already in use? Tonia (8/5): - If you are looking for 5-star accommodations, this isn’t for you.....HOWEVER, if you are looking for a 5-Star experience, this could be perfect. The cabins are rustic, but ours (the orange cabin) was clean and just a few feet from the lake. Since we are on a road trip and eating out most places, we decided to go to the store and picked up some ribs to cook and eat on our porch overlooking the lake. They have a bbq and basic needs for eating utensils (plates, cups, etc). We had a very pleasant experience. There is a small beach entrance, and water toys - paddle boat, kayaks, floaties. At 9:00 the morning of the day we were checking in, I got a message from the owner Nancy, saying our cabin was ready for us any time we would arrive! (Have NEVER had anything like that happen before!). We weren’t able to arrive until around 4:00, but once we got settled in and we’re sitting outside on the provided chairs looking over the lake, Nancy came to greet us and we had a very pleasant conversation with her. As we were just passing through on a road trip, we won’t likely be going back, but this will be one of the most memorable stays on our trip! 😃
Radio Joe (2/5): We booked for 2 nights but left after the first. - This is a poorly maintained old place. The beds had seen better days and we really did not get any sleep. The hot water heater under the bathroom sink is barely big enough to get one quick shower. The place is poorly lit and when we arrived around 8PM I could not see a large rock that was in the path to the front door. No outside door light although the porch light was on but it did not light up the entrance door into the porch. There was no curtain in the bathroom so my wife took one of the towel's and made a make-shift curtain. The entrance door on had no deadbolt and the only security on the door is small sliding lock which did not align properly and was very hard to lock plus really did not provide adequate security. I could go on and on with various issues. We made reservations for two nights but left after the first and lost the payment for the second night as per the agreed up contract. I really do not know how they stay in business.
