Guest Reviews
- Louis (10/5): - Small but cozy. Had an unexpected little stove that allowed us to cook eggs for breakfast. The location is walking dudtsnce to pubs and restaurants
- Noel (8/5): -
- ANDREW (10/5): Unique, character accommodation with fantastic service! - What a wonderful place! We stayed in the family suite/tree house. The accommodation was unique and full of character and charm. Everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was the most comfortable of our long road trip. The breakfast was amazing value - homemade pancakes, fresh homemade cherry juice, fruit and yogurt. Fantastic host. Would have loved to stay longer than one night.
- Heather (8/5): -
- Joerg (10/5): -
- Kent (8/5): -
- Dudley (7/5): If all you need is a place to sleep, this would be an adventure! - We are celiac so requested Fruit and yogurt... Nothing fancy The "room" was ostensibly a TINY HOUSE!
No room for relaxing. The Queen-size bed upstairs was not easy to access, as it was only accessible from one side. The person who would sleep on the other side" had to crawl over the bed to that side.
- Margaret (8/5): - Spotless room. Gabriela is friendly and accommodating.
- Terry (9/5): -
- Duane (10/5): Very nice time, good experience. - Very quiet, quaint, and private.
- Connie (10/5): We will come back! Such a lovely location in the middle of everything - Gabriella made this so welcome and inviting for us! She is an amazing hostess and a joy to chat with at breakfast! The steps up to the room were hard for one of us but Gabriella was very helpful
- Robyn (8/5): -
- Alice (1/5): I wouldn’t stay there ! - Nothing , she made us leave Surly person , we got there late , we called and explained but she was angry and let us know .
- Murray (7/5): Clean , easy to locate , nice down town area - Was street noise, room had stairs
- Pamela Everett (10/5): Really quaint and delightful stay in a beautiful area next door to the art gallery - Breakfast was made to order and delicious. The owner was lovely and shared a little of her history which was very interesting
The bnb was very quaint and scrupulously clean There wasn’t anything I didn’t like
- Debbie (8/5): - This suite is super cozy. We were met and able to check in early. It was an extremely hot day, but the A/C was running and run prechilled. It’s large and has a great comfortable couch in the sitting area. The location can’t be beat as it’s walkable with in minutes to downtown. All in all, a great stay.
- Marvin (8/5): - Good location, parking is in a parking lot not far away. No breakfast but that was ok.
- stevenson (8/5): -
- william (9/5): Great place to stay - We enjoyed the tiny house. It had everything we needed. Clean, comfortable, Easy check in and out, lots of snacks parking nearby
- Elizabeth (8/5): Super convenient, clean and cozy! - The location is great, host is lovely, plates/bowls/cutlery for two and minifridge/microwave is super appreciated! Bed is super comfortable and everything very, very clean. Very walkable town with great coffee/food options, and sweet wild deer everywhere you stroll. The bath has a spray shower but not a full stand up shower, might be tricky for tall/large people (we were fine). A lovely addition would be a couple of TV trays as there is no table to eat at. :)
- Lisa (8/5): Tiny home life - Host was very helpful, suggested restaurants in the area and ensured we were settled.
- John (10/5): -
- Aditi (8/5): - Cozy Place with Victorian feel, Wish breakfast was included and bathroom although spacious was odd to take shower in, was good for bath. Gabriela was pleasant and accommodating.
- Charnell (10/5): A charming 'country cottage' feel with all the trimmings in a great location. - The wood interior is charming, the sofa is huge and comfy, and the bed was perfect. The A/C was welcome during the day's heat, but great to be able to open the windows in the evening and listen to the rustle of trees. Our hostess offered great local restaurant tips and the walk to dinner was lovely. Look forward to our next stay there!
- Lee (8/5): Very good -
- Michael (9/5): I will stay at Luna again. - Location is excellent. Gabriela is a great hostess, telling me about town events that otherwise I would not have known about.
- James (10/5): - We enjoyed the tiny house. It had everything we needed. Clean, comfortable and nice tub! Host was gracious and excellent location. We enjoyed a nice dinner and a movie in town and the farmers market the next day. Host made great recommendations and we could walk to restaurants and shops.
- Kenneth (8/5): Friendly owner, good location, but check the room you are getting - The owner is lovely - she is friendly and helpful. The B&B is on a main road, but it is close to the centre of town and so the location is fine. Overall it was fine for an overnight stop, but it neither the B&B itself, nor the town would be a highlight of our trip. There was a kitchen (well, a couple of gas burners) and some snacks laid out. We stayed in a separate small cabin at the back of the B&B. It is fully equiped, but is hard to be in - the stairs to the upstairs bed are extremely narrow and steep, you can only get onto the bed from one side. The accommodation feels more like an RV than a room in a good B&B. That said, it was fine for one night and a bit different
- John (8/5): Very good -
- Anthony (8/5): Very good -
- Jo (10/5): Exceptional - This is our second time staying at Luna's B and B! The first time we stayed in the Family Studio last year as we were passing through, and rebooked it again this year. Check in was super easy, we communicated with Gabriela about what time we were coming. Both times were just after 11PM, she was super easy with the late check in.
It is small, but it felt clean. The kitchenette and high tables provided enough space for us sit down comfortably and have breakfast. Save On is just across the road, we walked over and got baguettes, ham, and brie.
Fair warning, it does get hot in the summer, maybe messaging well before your arrival to get the AC on might help. And you do have to set up the shower area, but we aren't bothered by that!
With the limited lodging in town, this is by far our preferred place to stay. Booking has been super easy at Booking.com.
We often travel from the East Kootenays to Vancouver to visit family, and we intend to stop here to break up the trip.
- Gregory (8/5): Very good -
- Gisele (1/5): Never to go there again - Noise with road traffic, air conditioners Everything
- Peter (8/5): Good value for the money. - A character old wooden home, with the bedrooms updated. Comfy bed, washroom was functional. Although located on the main Hwy n3, the room was quiet. The proprietress Gabby was friendly and helpful. Walking distance to several restaurants downtown. My room could use a working table for my laptop and snacking.
- Daniels (8/5): Friendly, clean, comfortable, easy to find and good location. - I didn't have the breakfast, so can't rate that, but the owner was just the right amount of friendly and the tiny house was comfortable. It was very hot upstairs, even with an air conditioner, but fortunately there was a single bed downstairs, so I slept there and had a decent sleep.
The bathtub was comfortable and wonderfully quirky - my only qualm- I think a sturdier hook for the bath lid would be a good idea, as it is really big and heavy.
The owner made sure there was fun and thoughtful snacks to greet the guest on arrival.
Very handy location. Nice little farmers market across the road on Fridays. If it wasn't so hot - the bed upstairs looked comfy.
- Nielsen (9/5): A very very cute place to stay! - The property was clean, the guest houses are incredibly cute and well-maintained, and there is a very sweet Cat (Cole) on site. There was a mini fridge and small appliances in the rental, and snacks were provided! The host was friendly, laid-back, and communicated well. We felt we really lucked out in booking this same-day! my only downside is that showering is a bit awkward due to the slope ceiling above the bathtub
- Mukhtar (4/5): Inconvenient and disappointing - Location Totally unsuitable for an older couple bathroom on main floor
Bedroom up very steep and narrow stairs
Bathtub high and difficult to manage
Bed too high and difficult for second person to get into
- Monica (10/5): Exactly as described - Luna B & B is a great place to stay in the middle of town. The hostess is exceptional as in she's very friendly and helpful with local knowledge. She also cooked us some great blueberry pancakes for breakfast.
- Stuart (8/5): A pleasant 1 night stay. - It was centrally located, the beds were comfortable and it had everything we needed. It would be good for a young couple who would find it quirky and very different. It is very tiny, probably too compact for some people and the stairs to the upstairs bedroom would be too difficult for a lot of people. The shower was also a bit challenging as you needed to lift up a fairly heavy plank covering it to access it. However the owner had taken a lot of care to make the most of what was there.
- Beckie (10/5): I would highly recommend this place and would definitely book it again. - Everything about this place was welcoming, homey and comfortable. Breakfast was homemade and excellent. Hostess was amazing.
- Sturrock (8/5): Quiet and cozy. Perfect for our stopover in Grand Forks. - Location was easy to find, check in / out was simple and host super friendly. Quiet, cozy, warm. Just as described in the listing :)
- Carol (9/5): Superb -
- Casimiro (9/5): It was wonderful. - Peace & quiet place.
- Warren (8/5): Very good - Convenient and comfortable. Friendly host and snacks provided. Nothing specifically
- Jeffrey (7/5): Nice location, comfortable and very nice person - Good location The bathroom sink and the shower are a little awkward because of sloped ceiling but okay.
- Carolyn (7/5): Good -
- Wastle (2/5): We do not recommend it at all. - Lovely upper unit rooms and nice welcome Noisy with traffic and pathetic breakfast and sagging bed and had to unplug and remove from the unit the back room air perfume diffuser
- Ann (9/5): Quirky but Nice Accommodation - Unfortunately we arrived late and left early, but it was a good place to stay over night, and was easy to find. The staff was were nice and accommodating. I also liked that the bedroom was on a floor up from the kitchen. The shower was in the same room as the kitchen, and could be converted to a bench, and it was tricky to secure the the bench/wood you had to remove before using the shower. Once in there it was cozy and the shower curtain provided privacy, but you have to be comfortable showing yourself naked to the people you travel with when getting in and out of the shower.
- Barbara (8/5): It was a quick trip and Luna's was a good choice for a clean quiet night's sleep. - Nice house, very clean. Comfortable sofa and nice tv. Great location for car travellers - possible to walk to downtown. There was some traffic noise during the day but it calmed completely in the evening. The shower arrangement is very tight for tall people. There are stairs to climb to get to the room. There is traffic noise because the location is on the main street.
- Merrill (9/5): Superb -
- Lorna (8/5): Comfortable, clean accessible. Need to be able to navigate steep stairs -
- David (9/5): Would definitely recommend this place for a stopover - It’s was very nice and different great location and the town was beautiful
- Dan (10/5): Tiny house all to ourselves. - If you'd like to experience a tiny house, this is it! Sweet, clean and a fantastic host! We really enjoyed our one night stay. High recommend it.
- Greg (10/5): Will book again if through the area - Was very large and comfortable
Gabrielle was great didn't meet the partner
Cat was amazing
Right on the hwy and close to things
Beautifully done room and cool old building
Price was more than fair A stove or oven would be nice
Didn't use shower but handheld unit was at your knees not above your head due to sloped roof which might be irritating for some
even if I used it, wouldn't irritate me much
- Mohamed (8/5): Very good -
- Driedger (10/5): Exceptional -
- Karen (9/5): Superb - It was a lovely, funky, neat place. Great price, lovely owner and a nice selection of free snacks.
- Heather (10/5): We would highly recommend this wonderful B&B! - The hostess is absolutely lovely! The location is within walking distance of the historic town and adjacent to the beautiful old courthouse, which is now an art gallery complete with tourist centre.
Our room was spacious and very comfortable, with a large sectional!
The basket of treats was a nice touch.
From here we rode our bikes easily to the TransCanada Kettle Valley Railway Trail.
- Laurie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Woori (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gerald (10/5): Exceptional -
- HUSSAM (6/5): - The staff, Location, and cleanliness is perfect
The internet speed was poor.
- Cecilia (8/5): Comfortable and cozy place in Grand Forks. - The location was close to shops and restaurants. The suite was really cozy and had all the amenities. Air con in the bedroom was really welcome. The owner was really nice and helpful. I’d definitely stay here again!
- Nancy (8/5): Very good - Location was excellent. No breakfast but the hostess provided some snacks. Found the AC abit too cool.
- Khatib (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gary (8/5): Very good - It was a big comfortable room, comfortable bed, with plenty of snack food left for us. While the bathroom was tastefully set up, its shower and sink were a bit short for adults.
Being right beside the highway, traffic was loud.
- Jon (8/5): Poor shower, suggest you don't use. - Well the shower was awfull, shower curtain only went half way because of the ceiling angle. The spray handle was attached at level of the tub, so if you stood up your feet got wet, if you took the spray in your hand, you only have one hand to use the soap and hose length gave very little movement. The other thing that happened was that the bathroom got wet, the toilet paper which sat on the back of tank got wet, very frustrating! We booked on hotel.com there was no choice to order a breakfast - so it was not a bed and breakfast - it was just bed, very misleading. The owner was very nice showed us around expained things etc., very good. All and all I would not come back to difficult. They have location that is great, close downtown shops and restaurants, all could be walked to. At night the main highway is just a few feet away, very noisy when you have the windows open, not much they could do about that.
- Shelley (7/5): Good - Conveniently located downtown, host friendly & helpful. Bed needs a mattress pad, shower curtain needs a clip, or some way to attach to the ceiling to prevent excess water on the floor.
- Christopher (10/5): - Charming and comfortable.
- Carol (6/5): Pleasant - Quaint little place with cute cat to welcome us. Clean with private entrance. Comfortable and adequate sofa bed for a young person. The shower was abysmal. The hand held shower head seemed like an afterthought and was unusable as a stand up shower.
- Mccarron (9/5): Superb -
- Richard (4/5): Disappointing but has possabilities. - Quaint clean. Access consists of a narrow sidewalk leading to a narrow twisting staircase, room is not air conditioned and was warm. Owners would be wise to supply a fan to help cool the room. Access to bathroom from bedroom was up a narrow 4 step stairway, an invitation for a sleepy in the dark fall. Due to pitched ceiling there is no mirror over sink complicating shaving but worst of all made only one end of bathtub useful for showering. Tub can be quite slippery when wet and again owner would be wise to supply a non-slip mat for tub. Traffic noise might be a problem for many.
- Barbara (9/5): Comfortable with a very nice host -
- Jason (10/5): - Big with lots of windows. Very comfy.
- Kbruno (10/5): Wonderful little B&B! - The Luna Bed & Breakfast was so great! Such a cute place with tons of charm. Close to anything you'd need. The woman who runs is the sweetest person, and there's even a curious kitty walking about the grounds. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would absolutely stay again!
- Joseph (8/5): Very good -
- Leclair (10/5): Cozy and convenient! - This was the perfect place to stay, very comfortable!
- Rita (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dalton (9/5): Superb - Unique rustic style. Room was quiet with large sectional couch Could have night tables at bedside with lamps
- Tom (8/5): This B&B is OK. We wanted to be close to the EV charger, but in the end, it didn't matter. - This location is close to an electric vehicle charger that we utilized. Parking is limited, we had to park a fair distance away.
- Curtis (10/5): - Clean and quiet. Would recommend to anyone looking to stay in Grand Forks.
- Simmonds (8/5): We enjoyed our stay & thank the host for her hospitality. - The host was very accommodating with our check in time. The main bed was very comfortable. I would prefer to have parking onsite, in a more secure area.
I think a “Bed & Breakfast” should include breakfast, even if it’s a simple continental style- muffins, croissants, juice.
- Candace (7/5): Eclectic B&B - Person that welcomed us was great. Helped with getting our things to our room. Made good suggestions for dinner. Asked for 2 bed room. One of us had to sleep on a couch rather than a bed.
- Robert (9/5): Superb -
- Pawel (10/5): Wonderful stay. - Comfortable and clean accommodation, tasty breakfast, friendly hosts.
- Linda (8/5): I probably wouldn’t stay here again. - The property was very private and in an excellent position so close to town. I didn’t like that the shower/bath was in the main sitting room. It was ok for us as a couple but I wouldn’t like it if I was there with another person. Also the stairs up to the bedroom were dreadful.
- Brittni (10/5): - Check in and out couldn’t be easier. Just the cutest place to stay. Great location
- Tracey (7/5): It was a welcome way to spend the night except for the fragrant plug in air freshener - Large separate suite with comfortable queen bed.
The sloping bathroom ceiling created a fun shower experience as you needed to use the handheld shower. An air freshener was plugged in, which I did not see until early morning so we were airing out the room and had the fan on to try to dissipate the fragrance.
- Marijka (2/5): Yikes! Don’t stay here‼️‼️ - Good location Toilet in one of the suites did not work! Very awkward accommodations- bathtub in lower level was outrageous with a plank covering the tub! Showering in the upper suite was impossible due to ceiling and no showerhead holder. Breakfast did not exist- this is shown as a bed and breakfast! In conclusion, this property was massively overpriced ‼️
- Heather (7/5): Pleasant & comfortable. - The rooms were air conditioned, everything was very clean and comfortable. The host was friendly and helpful. There were quite a few stairs to get to the rooms. Parking was not close by.
- Rick (8/5): Very good - Excellent accommodations: friendly, clean and original style. Name should change as breakfast is not included.
- Nico (10/5): Exceptional - Really nice host + spacious & clean room!
- David (10/5): Great suite, fantastic host, great location. Definitely a place I would recommend. - Honestly, everything was great. The room we stayed in was comfortable, and equipped with an air conditioner (which was needed, as it was rather warm outside!) The owner was friendly and helpful. The basket of snacks (at no extra cost!) was very appreciated. And the kitten was adorable! The shower was... an interesting experience, but given the shape of the bathroom, I'm not sure they could have done anything different. It did make showering a more challenging experience than I would have expected.
- Roger (6/5): We enjoyed the charm of the room , but felt very frustrated by the challenge of finding the place. - We received no breakfast at all. We were glad the other available room was unoccupied so we didn't have to share the bathroom.
- Majid (9/5): Pretty good for the value, very friendly and helpful owner - Location,
cozy environment,
peaceful Pillow heights, not very comfy
- Marie (8/5): Very good - Very hospitable and clean. Always enjoy coming back
- Marie (8/5): Super friendly and lovely cook - Great service and very private
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Evadene (10/5): You wouldn’t be disappointed. - Unfortunately, I thought I booked breakfast but I didn’t. The ambiance, the fire place was on, which made the room cozy and very comfortable. This is the first time I used a B&B when travelling and I would return and recommend this accommodation When I changed my booking from 1 to 2 persons my additional did not port over
- Donald (8/5): Very good -
