Lewis (10/5): We had a lovely time, the accommodation was comfortable and the restaurant was exceptional - We loved staying at the Wheatsheaf - the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and we had everything we needed. We ate in the restaurant and the food was lovely, very well priced and service was quick. I honestly can't find a negative about The Wheatsheaf

Basic accomodation and could maybe do with a touch up here and there, but perfectly acceptable for a night(s) stay whilst i worked in the area. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Only downside was i was unable to connect to the wifi in my room, but wasnt a big concern for me as i was only staying for the night. Unable to cnnect to Wifi in the room and rooms could do with a touch up.

Pet friendly and our dog ( 6m old puppy) made welcome, even though he was a bit lively as all new to him, ..water bowl supplied as soon as sitting down

Laura (5/5): Disappointed after previously having a lovely stay - Booked having stayed here before and after staying in a large room with a double bed and single for my little boy…were disappointed to have booked fir the same number of people yet were given a smelly ground floor room with only 2 single beds, had to ask for a put up bed for my son. Breakfast was lovely and staff polite Only 2 single beds for a party of 3 (had to ask for a third) room smelled of sewers. Had a nice meal in the bar but service charge was added without asking.

We were staying over to be near family for a funeral, and having a small gathering at the Wheatsheaf afterwards, the benefit of being able to stay there was excellent. Great breakfast. Clean well presented rooms. Nothing particularly. Lack of soap, etc, in my own room, but it was provided in my adult children's rooms as normal, but I had taken my own anyway, so it wasn't an issue. I'm sure if I had asked, I would have been provided with some.

Liked the thoughtful touches including the guest fridge and coffee machine in the bed and breakfast section of the building. Breakfast and dinner menus were great, plenty of choice and everything well cooked and presented. Would certainly recommend to others. It was a bit noisy at night. The downstairs corridor echoes the sound of heavy doors banging but apparently this was worse the first night as they were doing a deep clean of the kitchen. Overall it was a comfortable stay.

The village is pretty, well kept and well served by a coop shop and post office, and conveniently close to the motorway north and south. Nothing comes to mind.

Neil1911 (7/5): - Excellent location, good size room and a comfortable bed. Plus good beer available and a good breakfast. Our particular room's bathroom, though large and "fully functioning" is overdue for a refresh. The bath was bouncy when using the shower, the gap behind the cistern displayed the last 20 years decorative history and the flooring was curling round the edges. That said none of these would put me off staying again!

I didn’t eat on this occasion in the evening to good menu options available.bed is super comfortable. The staff are so friendly and helpful, nothing feels too much. Thanks for making a solo female traveller feel really comfortable and welcome. The bedroom decor does feel a little dated and not many plug sockets for charging phone etc. also to let you the shower goes from being freezing to scolding.. dangerous if a child was in there. but everything was really clean.

Robert (7/5): Should work harder on Show weekend. - Location Disappointed that breakfast times were weekend times despite all the guests were attending the Crick boat show which opened at 10.00. Started at 9.00 exactly, 9.01 full with everyone wanting serving asp. Staff did their best. Evening meals were hit and miss. Our friends had mixed grill which came on 3 plates because items were forgotten. Next night my wife’s meal was cold and had to be reheated which meant cracking was soft. One of my beef medallions was inedible because of sinew.

Nice pub atmosphere to enjoy in the afternoon and evening. Walking distance to Crick Boat Show. I have no complaints.
