Guest Reviews
- Geni (10/5): - Everyone was very nice there and I appreciate everything. And thank you for letting me stay there. Just one thing that I didn't like was the ice machine was not working at the time, but they were getting it fixed. So everything breaks down from time to time.
- Dennis (10/5): -
- Robbie (10/5): -
- misti (10/5): Outstanding service - There isn't a pool or hot tub. There isn't free breakfast. BUT what they do have is outstanding service and very friendly and helpful staff. We were running pretty late due to traffic and Patrick stayed late to get us checked in, made sure we had enough towels etc. and had a smile the whole time. We will definitely be staying here again!
- Yeary (10/5): -
- Elaine (10/5): Planning to stay there again in July. - Our host, Patrick, was extremely helpful in learning about the area since my brother and I are planning to move there.
When we arrived at the lodge, Patrick showed us where to drop the carry-on trailer so we could explore the area freely. I was surprised to see that there were rooms at the back of the lodge as well as the front.
Rooms were clean and everything promised was there and in working order.
Angela in housekeeping, was also extremely helpful.
- Jennifer (8/5): It was an overnight stay on a 5,000 mile cross country trip across America. - Convenient to our road trip. Patrick the host was friendly and knowledgeable about the local restaurants having lived there his entire life. The lodge is popular with motorcyclists and lake enthusiasts especially in the summer months. He did advise of the strict speed limits imposed by the city to avoid a ticket and having to return in person to pay the fine. He upgraded us to a “suite” at no extra cost. Thank you Patrick.
. The lack of a coffee maker with in room coffee, Kleenex, and laundry bag.
- Glen (8/5): - Was nice
- Stephen (10/5): - Room was the perfect size and had everything I needed. Was very clean! Service was excellent too. Will stay again in the future.
- Heather (10/5): Exceptional -
- Arthur (8/5): Patrick was very accomodating, price right. -
- Bobby (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sondra (10/5): - Very friendly and accommodating staff. Cleanliness and the property was quiet. We were able to rest after our road trip
- John (10/5): - Would definitely stay again. It’s clean and the manager was fabulous!
- Rachel (10/5): - The room was very clean. The bed was comfortable. The hotel manager/owner was very friendly and took time to give me information about the area. Very pleasant stay.
- Benjamin (10/5): - Very convenient and clean. Economical. Not a lot of amenities but that's not what I'm looking for. Definitely a place is stay again
- Michael (7/5): Good - Rooms adjoining the road are quite noisey. No breakfast available but there is a coffee pot in Reception BUT it is not used. Why not charge a couple of dollars more and fill it up? or better put coffee makers in the rooms.
- Starr (10/5): - The owner is a lovely guy, he's very helpful and attentive to his Tenants making sure they have everything they need. He doesn't mind giving a ride if it's needed to those who doesn't have transportation. Overall the best motel owner I've ever met, he was even kind about my flights being delayed due to the weather and offered to let me and my partner stay a couple more days on the house.
- Melinda (10/5): Great place to stay! - Patrick was very friendly and helpful, fun to talk to. Everything in our room was clean and comfy.
- Jack (6/5): No frills but a clean comfortable place to sleep for the night while passing through. - It was comfortable. The accommodations were very simple which was reflected in the price. Very near (12 miles) from Cumberland Gap National Historic Site, which is well worth visiting. Looks like it has not been renovated in a generation. Has sufficient sockets but no usb ports. There is a bathtub but you have to take a shower because there's no way to fill up the tub.
- Craig (9/5): Nothing special on the outside, but a real gem on the inside. - The incredible hospitality of the hotel manager (I think his name was Patrick) was really exceptional! The room was very clean and had pretty much whatever you would need in a room.
- Dalton (8/5): Friendly staff that treat you like family. -
- w (10/5): - Great staff, convenient location.
- michael (10/5): - Good
- Ryan (8/5): Local owned and ran better than chain - Great Mom and Pop owned and ran motel. Clean , quiet , with a hot shower and comfortable bedding. Ran by Patrick who goes above and beyond for his guests. Will stay here everytime that I'm in Tazewell
- Randall (10/5): - Just good all around
- Darryl (10/5): - This was the best place to stay! Very comfortable and Patrick was extra helpful and made our stay a memorable experience!
- Mark (9/5): Superb -
- Mike (10/5): - This is my second time being at the Tazewell motor lodge, and I have to say each visit has been very good. This place is perfectly located if you wanna grab something quick to eat when you wake up or when you want to grab something quick to eat when you’re coming home late. The owner is super nice. My husband and I were running late to the motel he stayed up a little later to accommodate us and he also out of the kindness of his heart. He upgraded us to a bigger room. He gave us information on some local places to try very accommodating to whatever your needs are when you stop in town. Definitely will stay here again when I am in Tennessee.
- Nathanael (10/5): Will stay here again for future visits in the area - Patrick does an excellent job managing the lodge. Best place for staying in the area to experience the Cumberland Gap. Asked for more pillows and received them promptly to make sleep more comfortable. Highly recommend for lodging. The Wifi was not as strong for streaming service (1 and sometimes 2 bars out of 3). Good for going outdoors and getting some sun. Helped me from looking at my screen and see the local sites :)
- Robert (9/5): Excellent. - Clean and quiet. If you need something staff will try and get it. Nothing
- Rian (10/5): - Patrick is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. Very helpful and considerate and knowledgeable of area. Rooms were clean and service was excellent. Would definitely stay again!
- Scott (10/5): - Friendly self owned place with great people who care, help, and offer assistance and advice. 10/10! Will use again when I come back down to Tennessee!
- Kimbelry (10/5): We recommend to friends and family. - The property is very clean and well maintained. It’s a good location close and convenient.
- Kathleen (7/5): Good - turntable of the mircowave was not working
- Rachael (10/5): This was close to the family we were visiting and close to tons of restaurants. -
- James (8/5): Very good -
- Carole (10/5): - Great place!
- James (10/5): Clean rooms and friendly staff would definitely stay again!!! -
- Robert (10/5): Well Rested - Great host and clean rooms. Very good accommodations for a weary travler.
- Gary (10/5): Great place to stay - We have always talked about staying at Tazewell Motor Lodge. I am so glad we did. This is a very clean, no frills, very secure place. Our host Patrick was professional, friendly and helpful. Because this was our first time staying here, he upgraded our room.
We travel from Michigan to Georgia, and this will be our regular stop.
Thank you.
- Rex (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean
Friendly staff.
- James (8/5): Very good -
- ashley (10/5): - Great location, super convenient and VERY friendly staff!
- Daniel (10/5): Great experience - Hotel manager was very helpful, very clean, quiet, had all the comforts, fridge, microwave, coffee pot and coffee, gave us advise about the area, food thats open late, directions, police and speed traps, very nice people
- Robin (10/5): - Inexpensive, super fast internet, very convenient location, excellent service.
I recommend this facility to anyone searching for the above mentioned amenities.
- Jennifer (10/5): Oldie but a Goodie! - Great stay. Very comfortable and one of the cleanest motels we have ever stayed in. The owners and staff were gracious and friendly. They know the area really well and can offer advice on where to eat and what to do while visiting. Yes the hotel is older but it's the absolute best option in town! Don't judge the book by the cover!
- tanya (10/5): Great value for the price! - Check in was easy and owner was friendly and on site. Older motel but very clean, quiet, well kept and perfect for what we needed- showering and sleeping while visiting family nearby. Will definitely stay next time we're in town!
- Bryan (10/5): Clean and comfortable - Tazwell Motor Lodge was clean and comfortable. It was perfect for my stay in the area where my primary need was somewhere to sleep
- beccah (8/5): - The motel is cute. It is just the right size for a couple. We didn't need anything fancy. It looked a lot better than the other motels in the same area. The only thing we didn't like was the noise factor. We were next to the highway. Either the owner or a person who works at the front desk is really nice and helpful.
- Bill (10/5): Very Clean and Comfortable - Like other reviewers I must say the cleanliness of the room was outstanding. The owner was very friendly and brought us extra towels right away (without being asked). The carpet looked relatively new and the other furnishings, while dated, were in good condition and well maintained. There was highway noise but with the air conditioner running the noise was muted. I would definitely recommend and stay here again.
- Robert (8/5): - Our stay at tazwell motor lodge was very nice. Management was very helpful in recommending places to see and where to eat. Room was very clean and neat. We would stay there again without hesitation
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Quiet, centrally located, very friendly staff, clean, large room & very nice people.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It was a suitable place to lay your head down. It was functional and had all the necessities, but the amenities were well used and outdated.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Met by owner. Room was clean and well kept. Will stay there again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Recent stay - Ac did not cool. Windows would not open to help. Towels old and worn. When asked coffee maker provided. Bed old.
- Family (8/5): - Old property but very clean, really comfortable beds, large room (we had king, double, and a couch in our room) easy check in, friendly. Would stay here again on the way to Cumberland Gap.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was a clean room for those who are just passing through...It is family owned which was why we picked it. Overall it was worth it, and we will be using the facility again as we pass through.
- Terry (10/5): Nice stay again!! - Nice stay, 2nd time I have stayed at this property. The owner/front desk gentleman is absolutely the best, most helpful person you will find at a motel/hotel. Nice quite location, clean and comfortable. Will be staying here again for sure. Can't beat the rates!!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Wasn’t sure what to expect when booking but it was GREAT! When we checked in the owner was friendly and gave us a ton of information about the area, gave us lists of places to eat with directions (we went to his friends bar and grill that just opened and it was absolutely delicious) We have been on the road for a week and stayed at a bunch of hotels and this was by far the best one! The price is great and I would definitely go back there to stay when in the area again! We look for small towns to see and stay at and this was great! If driving that way definitely stay there!!!
- Kevin (10/5): Friendly family run motel - While on a recent hunting trip in the area I stayed here at The Tazewell Motor Lodge. It is a nice family run motel. It is definitely old school and the room may be a little small for some but the bed was comfortable and the room clean. Patrick was very helpful with local information. If you need a place to hang your hat for a couple of days here would be fine
- Happy (10/5): - Very friendly and ready to help. Very pleased with my stay!
- Victor (8/5): - good stay. friendly staff. very clean. had free gifts - not for locals within 50 miles. area has few food outlets.
- Zeena (10/5): - The property overall was very clean and safe. Rooms included a large TV, fridge, microwave and wifi.
Check-in was very thorough, thoughtfully and professional. I was provided with all information needed about the area through friendly conversations during check-in.
I would recommend this motel to my friends and family!
- Lloyd (10/5): - Not many motels in Tazewell, but TML seems to be VERY well operated. Class act, for that matter. Good value for the price. They don't rent to locals, so you don't have the "no-tell motel" crowd to deal with.
In summary, I'd stay there again without even thinking about it.
Kudos to Patrick & company for doing a fine job there.
- Patricia (6/5): - handy location to get to the Cumberland Gap National Park.
- michael (4/5): Do not beleave all reviews - Rooms needed updating very badly
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Mr. Patel was very accommodating with a special request for my wife's companion stay!
- Shelley (8/5): - Very nice staff. Helpful with information about the area. Simple clean rooms.
- Coach (8/5): - Nothing spectacular-but- excellent service, very clean, good water- pressure, taste, temp. If all you need is a place to sleep andkeep stuff in while you hike the trails or go rafting, this is the place.
- Jody (6/5): Not many choices in this area. - There is one good choice for restuarant close by, other than fast food. Room overlooks ugly parking lot and had an awful smelling room deoderizer plugged in. TV had cable that was difficult to manuer. Help came quickly and room was decent for a nights stay.
- Becky (10/5): - Very happy with the room and the service. Would recommend this hotel if visiting the area.
- Kory (10/5): Excellent Motel - If you are looking for a basic room, with friendly owners, then this is the place for you. This motel sits at the end of Tazwell near the Kentucky, Tennessee and Virginia boarders. The rooms are very clean equipped with a small refrigerator, microwave and iron plus ironing board. The bed is the best mattress I have slept on while traveling. The television is a modern flat screen with cable channels. The water to shower is as warm as you can handle. The best part are the owners. They take pride in ensuring that their patrons have a positive experience.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Patrick is awesome, definitely will stay at this place again next time.
- John g (10/5): LMU Visit - Was a wonderful stay beautiful area of Tennessee recommend highly
- Bill (10/5): Very favorable review of Tazewell Motor Lodge - Tazewell Motor Lodge is a family-owned business, well-managed, clean and comfortable. I spent two nights there while attending my college reunion and enjoyed my stay without any issues whatsoever. Your best bet on rates is to contact the hotel directly, however. I recommend the hotel and will definitely stay there again when I'm overnighting in the area.
- Marc (10/5): Small hotel with great customer service. - This is my second time here and Patrick was very helpful and went above and beyond what a normal hotel would do. I had some items shipped to the hotel prior to my arrival for a class and the items were already in my room. He is warm and inviting and made me feel like an old friend. The only downside to the hotel is the proximity to the highway semis can sometimes jakebreak during the night.
