• Verified traveler (10/5): 2月宿泊 - 県内在住で急遽、主人の時間が取れる事ができたので連休中日でしたが運良く一部屋、空きがあり当日予約で宿泊 部屋にはシャワーのみだったので 次は風呂付きの部屋に宿泊してみたい 部屋に缶のお茶、水、コーヒーパックなどありましたが自販機がなく売店でも売ってない 近くにコンビニ、スーパーがあるが、この日は寒すぎて出られなかった 温泉の効能、成分表示がわかる場所になかったので不明ですがツルツルにはならなかったです 食事は2食、美味しく頂きました。高級食材は、ほとんど無く鯛めしならぬムロアジ..（美味しかったけど）土鍋で美味しいけど、かなりこびりついて底は取れなかった 鹿児島なのに食べ慣れない赤味噌で若干の違和感を感じました 配膳スタッフの袖口が広く、作法の一部でしょうが都度袖口を押さえるので、効率悪そうでした。こちらの手拭きや湯呑みに触れそうになり逆に不衛生に感じました また、とても風が強く寒い日でしたがスタッフの制服？作務衣のみで薄着のまま、駐車場の出迎えをしてくださったのですが車が入って駐車が終わる前から駆けつけ、こちらの方が焦ってしましました お気遣いはありがたかったのですが車内の整理など済ませて行きたかったです 客室から大浴場など外気に触れる造りだからこそ、スタッフの方々も寒いでしょうし、季節に応じて工夫されてはどうかなと思います 雪がチラつく朝に照明カバーを水で洗って下さっていたり中庭の落ち葉の清掃など、環境整備が行き届いていると思います 室内照明のスイッチが分かりづらかった

• YUJIN (10/5): - 가고시마 여행 마지막날 공항 가기 전에 묶었던 호텔입니다. 체크인을 7시 넘어서 하는 바람에 이 호텔의 진가를 많이 이용하진 못한게 많이 아쉽습니다. 1일 2식을 주문해서 가이세키 석식, 조식을 즐겼습니다. 일본에서는 온천을 갈 때 복장으로 석식, 조식을 먹는 게 참 편하고 좋습니다. 가이세키 먹고나서 조금 아쉬워서 밖에 나가서 구이 집에서 맥주도 즐겼습니다.

• KEISUKE (6/5): - チェックインの時も感じたのですが、一時が万事でエアコンの鼠色の毛布のようなフィルターに始まって、ご飯はこだわりの炊き方と言う割には土鍋や茶碗が欠けてたり、とにかくこの値段との釣り合いが取れないです。イカめんたいが朝食で出ましたが、それすら着色料いっぱいのピンク色で旨みもないし、織部の器の蒸し物を食べようとすれば器は所々欠けてて折角の景色が台無しでした。非常に残念です。
• 715herbertl (10/5): VERY GOOD VALUE HOT SPRING HOTEL IN KIRISHIMA, KAGOSHIMA - On 28th September 2024, I stayed in the Executive Villa (KanKanan) of The YAKAKUTEI Hot Spring Hotel. The transfer services were efficient, and I was greeted by Mr. Mori, the hotel owner, upon arrival. The facilities and services of this hot spring hotel evoke traditional Japanese Omotenashi services—the spacious room with two private natural hot spring baths (Onsen) in my room, plus the public large hot spring bath. The natural hot spring water eliminates fatigue, relaxes your body, and refreshes your mind. The Kaiseki dinner was served privately in your room, and the chief chef prepared a delicious tasting menu. My wife and I enjoyed the lovely evening in this Yakakutei. The Japanese Kaiseki dinner and breakfast are presented in a very exquisite way. Each dish decoration is like a piece of art, delicious and pleasing. As a Certified Travel Manager in Canada, I highly recommend that travelers stay in this excellent Hot Spring hotel, Yakakutei, in Kirishima, a 15-minute drive from Kagoshima airport. Herbert Lee, CTM
• Marieli (10/5): An amazing renovated ryokan with great onsen and great dinner - The property is really nice! It’s renovated and the details are amazing! We personally loved our room and its design! The dinner was really great and the service was amazing! I love that they have onsen but also sauna, such a nice plus! I will for sure go back whenever I have the chance! Everything was lovely!

The hotel staff will introduce each dish very kindly while serving, which is a good experience. • ronchuchu7 (8/5): Cozy Onsen Hotel - This onsen hotel is very cozy, I can fully enjoy Japanese gardening, and the food is very local, yummy and exquisite Japanese cuisine. The size of onsen area is not so big, but still have indoor and outdoor pools, I was really relaxed after the onsen bath. One more minor but I was delighted that Yakakutei has a small stove to warm green tea in each room, it is very impressive scent to relax myself! Highly recommend and would come back!

• 残念 (4/5): - 2泊しました。2日目は生憎の雨。どうしようかと、朝食後、部屋でゆっくりしていたら、フロントから「チェックアウトの時間が過ぎてます」という電話が来て絶句。15部屋しか無いのに、どの部屋が帰るのか、連泊なのかが把握出来ていない。そして、11時頃「13時過ぎには戻ります」と言って外出、14時過ぎに戻ったら「部屋の清掃中で、あと15分程掛かります」とのこと。16時チェックインなので他の部屋同様にマイペースでお仕事しているようですが、全く気配りが感じられ無い。さらに、浴衣代りの作務衣様の部屋着。チェックイン時に、Lサイズが用意されていたのを、Mに交換。清掃時に新しいものに交換されていたが、サイズはLが。連泊であること、使用済みのサイズがMであることは、清掃したスタッフは全く気付かないらしい。また、最終日の朝食時は、おしぼりが出て来ず。おしぼりを置くトレーが予め用意されているので、あり、無しは一目で分かるはずだが、料理を運ぶのに、何度もテーブルに来ても気付かない。以上、スタッフのサービスは高額な料金に全く見合わない。そして、食事、美味しかったのではあるが、2日目のメインがイサキ1匹丸ごとの塩焼き。時期的に、販売しているおせち料理の作成と重なり忙しいのだろうが、1日目と比べ手抜き感は否めない。高い料金出すのは非日常を味わいたいから。しっかり手を掛けたものを提供して欲しかった。

There are not many rooms so we are well served by their staff. They arranged pick up from JR or airport which saved us a lot of time and money to take transport. We’re greeted at the entrance and they parked our car and moved our luggages to our rooms while we were enjoying the welcome drinks and snacks. Service was exceptional. And the food was both great and served in-room, which we appreciated after a long day. Then the masseurs also came to our room. A great place with great staff, highly recommend for anyone passing through Kagoshima or flying in or out of the Kagoshima Airport, which is very close and easily reachable in 15mins from the ryokan.

JPY3,000 per bottle will be charged if any non-ryokan drink bottle is found in the room. This clause was not told/reminded before making reservations or upon check-in at the ryokan. Since the clause is in English only, not sure whether it’s just for foreigners’ alert because usually any rules in hotel/ryokan in Japan should be bilingual (Japanese and English) or at least in Japanese for each customer’s attention. -The two 500ml bottle waters in the room are for separate charge. -Suggestion: if this rule can be told publicly and further specified through listing each outside drink and food that are prohibited before reservation, it will eliminate customers’ worry of bringing any outside drinking water or even Kirishima gifts like cookies to the ryokan.
• jennynX3362VH (8/5): Nice onsen hotel - We spent a night on 24/4/19. A tranquil nice spot. A private onsen tub was included in our garden. We used the public onsen. The outdoor onsen pool was good. Cuisine was good. Staff could speak simple English and one of the girls was Chinese. So she spoke Mandarin when introducing our room. Overall, we were v satisfied.

Very personalised service with detailed explanation of each dish as well as the property and welcome tea when we first arrived. Property is abit old and faded to me but for some that may be an attraction itself due to the rustic look. It is located in a residence area but once in the ryokan you feel like you are shut off from the rest of the whole. Beautiful central Japanese garden with a perfect view for breakfast. Brought my parents there and they loved it so much, it is the perfect place to rest and relax and just unwind always from the hustle and bustle of life.

• starsonja (10/5): Beautiful, yummy and cozy - I stay in Yakakutei with family during Lunar New Year. It's such a beautiful place. Before we stop our car, there are staffs at the door to welcome us. It was a raining day, so it's really helpful! We enjoyed matcha and dessert in the lobby, and then guided to our room. Dinner is inside the room, although I personally prefer to eat in the restaurant, they make the whole dinner very cheerful and relaxing. Dinner was tradition with some creative ideas, yummy! So did breakfast. We were staying in the room with private onsan, and it's definitely highlight to enjoy hot bath in the early morning! Will come back again!

The room was spacious and the food & service were fine. But the outdoor pool was not clean, and the location was in the centre, you can imagine the noise of traffic. I recommend to have day onsen (no staying) instead, as it was slightly over-priced.

• Victor (10/5): 6-STAR EXPERIENCE AT YAKAKUTEI KIRISHIMA - Yakakutei is nestled in Kirishima town. We were on a driving tour, having left Fukuoka in the morning. Arriving at Yakakutei at about 4pm, we were pleasantly surprised to see the hotel staff waiting at the driveway despite a drizzle. Umbrella in hand, he helped us unload our luggage and parked our car for us. Check in was the way it should be done, with us seated comfortably at a living room area in front of a beautiful Japanese garden. The rain added that magical touch. Still don't understand why 5-star hotels check in experiences are still standing up at a counter more than 10 minutes. But Yakakutei has the right touch. The hotel complex is architecturally interesting with a round glass house as a dining area, offering a circumscribe view of the Japanese garden. Needless to say, the onsen was nice too. Dinner was delivered dish by dish, with a beautiful origami crane decorated menu. My! Attention to details is what I look out for. Service was excellent from arrival to departure.

We stayed around early March and it was relatively quiet. The manager also makes a special arrangement of a packed breakfast as we have to leave for an early ferry. Very helpful staff.

• Verified traveler (10/5): Nice family getaway - My parents are shy and find it weird to go public onsen bath naked, so I picked Villa Munian which has private onsen where they can enjoy onsen alone. The private onsen is very nice and we doesn't feel cold walking to/from the onsen to indoor despite 4degrees weather. Buddhist stupa in the public garden is soothing, you can sit in front of it to enjoy fresh air and the scenery. Service is very good.

• Verified traveler (10/5): Beautiful Onsen and Gardens - My daughter and I were treating ourselves to a traditional Japanese hotel with onsen (hot springs). This place was quite beautiful. The onsen had a large outdoor pools area as well as a nice sized indoor hot pool. The landscape in the courtyards was beautifully maintained and lush. The futons were really comfortable and the large, soft duvets made us not want to get out of bed! We were served a traditional Japanese breakfast that must have had 25 small special dishes. Really wonderful.
