- Melvin (8/5): - Price. The room looks like it did in 1980 and the bed was hard as a rock. The bedding - sheets, pillow cases looks like they came from 1980.

- Dana (8/5): Super Happy we booked with you !!! - I liked it was centrally located (Only an 11 minute drive to Indiana Beach.) We went to 'Skippers' which was only 6 minutes away--unique & kid friendly!! My kids loved the pool!! The people we met were welcoming & accommodating. A/C worked VERY well!!! Warm water for showering! Super excited about the ice in main office. And I really liked that you get to park your vehicle right in front of your room :) The freakin "neighbors' -- can't remember the room numbers...they were one room closer to the main lobby/office. They were up until the wee hours of the morning. Not sure if they were up talking OR if their TV was left on....Just glad my kids were super sleepy and it didn't seem to affect them.
- Derek (5/5): It was a place to rest our head but nothing more! - The staff were friendly and the outdoor pool was nice and clean. Very very outdated. Not even a single outlet to plug a phone charger into. They use power strips and had every plug filled with television, microwave, refrigerator, and lights. Huge fire hazard. In addition there was no clock/alarm in the room. So one cannot plug their cell phone in to charge it to use for an alarm and there is no alarm in the room.

- Andrew (9/5): Monticello Indiana is a nice Town. Hotel was nice. - Nice Monticello Business, Thank You. AndyK. Nothing.

- Fuentes (1/5): It was nice til our key wouldn’t work we called the stuff he answered yelling and gussing at us and threatening us - Nice and clean Loved it
- Kevin (5/5): A warm bed at a reasonable price. - No breakfast provided Bathroom small and outdated. Minimal vanity space and commode had a continual leak. Lack of electrical outlets with numerous appliances plugged into a cheap power strip constituting an electrical fire. No apparent smoke detector in room which was concerning considering electrical conditions.
- Glenn (4/5): Unsatisfactory. I would remove the TVs and refrigerators, and donate the motel to the fire department to use as a comme - Location Room was musty and smelling of mold 24 hours a day even when AC was on 24 hours a day. I was sneezing every day. Had my wife or children been with me, we would have left 5 minutes after I first opened the door, The room needs mold and mildew remediation.
The supplied bar soap was the size of a quarter no counter on which to put bathroom items.. Come on, folks! Underwhelming and unsatisfactory.
Shampoo and conditioner combined in a tablespoon packet. Not impressive.
Toilet had a 12 inch bowl. Great for children and adolescents, but very small for adults to a point of being uncomfortable and unsanitary!
The pillows -all four- were small, flat and hard. Totally uncomfortable and no adjustment possible. It’s clear the owners and managers have never slept in the rooms!
The Wi-Fi was weak or non-existent. WTF?! There were NO convenient power outlets for chargers and power supplies for phones, laptops, etc.
The rooms need a serious total remediation and modernization makeover. It’s time to bring the facility into the 21st century, please! The 1960 are gone-just like these 1960’s rooms should be gone.
- Oluwafemi (8/5): - Professional staff Nothing
- Sheila (7/5): It was pretty good for a one night stay - It was kinda out-of-the-way and it was a good price I couldn't take a shower because the shower wouldn't come on, and I had to sit on the side of the tub and take a bath because the stopper wouldn't work in the tub
- Jeff (7/5): - The room was nice and the staff was good. The sign was not lite up and it was hard to find at night.
- Chad (8/5): - Rooms are dated but rooms are very clean and beds were comfortable.
- PHYLLIS (8/5): - Nice budget friendly place.
- Sivakumar (6/5): - Bed was clean/comfortable, bathroom was clean. Easy checkin and checkout. But the carpet was so dark and stained. Though the interior looks dated, I would have been happy if the carpet was better. Overall the stay just for the night during a long travel as a break was ok. I would not go back because of the dirty carpet.
- Cynthia (8/5): - It was quiet. Not to much going on here but we drove to Indiana beach board walk so it worked perfectly
- Ruby (9/5): -
- Jonathan (6/5): It is ok for 1 night - I thought this was a good one night staying. The bed wasn’t that comfortable, bathroom conditions doesn’t look great, and in good locations by restaurants.
I trying to run shower water warm and it was pain in the butt. Certain turn get me hot or cold. No matter what turn I make in each knob Aargghh
Tv cable is good.
WiFi really SUCk. Sometime it work while other time work fine. So basically I county get wifi for whole time staying here.
Quick check and nice to get bigger space.

- Lynne (9/5): Glad to have you there after a LONG day. - After reading reviews, I was worried, but I was pleasantly surprised with how clean the rooms were. The bed was average, but you MUST get the good hotel pillows. The pillow I had was awful, but my husband's was pretty good. Overall, pleasant stay. Just my pillow was poor.
- John (10/5): -
- Richard (8/5): -
- Romero (7/5): - The location worked well for me. Easy to find my way to it. The bed was not as comfortable as I would of liked.

- Michael (8/5): - We have stayed at the Monticello In. For a 2 night weekend each of the last 2 summers while visiting Indiana Beach. So this review is going to be based on the options. We stayed at the Best Western 3 years ago and it is the best hotel in town so that would be a 5 for the area… but it was $225 a night, so that is the price for the local 5 star. The Indiana Beach hotel, previously the Pine View Resort is the low end I would say 1.5/2 star for the area and costs about $140 a night. The last few times we stayed there, their help wasn’t good and the plumbing had massive issues.
So now to the Monticello Inn. Yes the office smells like smoke, but the managers were super nice and have always been helpful. The ac works, the plumbing works, tv works and the beds have been clean and bug free. Now the bathrooms are not great and are outdated and the rooms are straight out of the 1980s and 1990s, the parking lot is similar to a mine field. The pool has been awesome both times, very clean and very not busy, our girls love it. I would call this the local 3/3.5 star but it’s like $110 a night. This is where we are going to continue to stay until there are reasons not to stay. I hope this good honest review helps.
- Daniel (8/5): -
- Haynes (10/5): - My daughter and niece liked the pool.the manager gave me a bigger room
- Ian (8/5): Very good -
- Julie (10/5): Nice place - It was a cute place. The pool was clean and the staff was friendly. Clean room. I would stay there again if I go out there.
- Holly (8/5): - Pool is nice
- Alicia (1/5): Bad - It has a pool which was nice The electricity kept going out which was horrible.. and the maid stole are soap etc. air conditioning didn't hardly work so it was hot.. and we had a hole in the wall...
- Melinda (10/5): Exceptional - Rooms were decent for a night. Staff was great.
- Chris (2/5): Very disappointing - Lady at desk was nice. The one reason we booked this hotel was because of the pool and price. It did not state anywhere online that the pool doesn't open till noon. We had to check out by 11. I travel very often and have never heard of a pool opening so late .I would have stayed somewhere else and paid more money if I would have known that. Very disappointed grandkids! The beds and pillows were very uncomfortable. Would definitely not stay here again.
- Todd (10/5): Exceptional - All good!
- Debbie (10/5): - Room was clean ,staff was friendly. Swimming pool and pool area was nice.. I had no trouble with Wi-Fi or internet.. my stay was from july 15th thru the 17th. I recommend staying here . I would stay again
- Heather (10/5): Friendly family owned business - Nicest folks that run this. We continue to go here because of the owners.
- Jeff (10/5): - An old fashioned motor court that is clean and immaculately maintained. If you are going to Indiana Beach and want a reasonably priced place to stay that is not too far from the action (in previous visits I was forced to stay in Lafayette) this is it. So glad I found them on Expedia.
- Beverly (7/5): Good choice for families on a budget. - Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are decent beds are comfy. Price was right. Clean but dated bathrooms. Pool area was clean and property well cared for. Hooks in the bathroom would be nice. No place to hang anything Poole hard to get in and out of could use some stairs or longer ladder. And the tub faucet leaked. Rugs could be cleaner but I actually see that everywhere I go!
- Paul B (6/5): - dated.
- Moody (9/5): Superb - Friendly staff, pool, close to Walmart, comfortable bed, coffee in the office.
- Willis (10/5): Exceptional - We stayed so that we can go to the Madame Carroll boat everyone at the hotel was very nice and it was very clean and comfortable
- LISA (10/5): - Staff was nice, said thank u and welcome, and answered questions that were asked. Very nice.
- Heather (5/5): No smoking? - The location near Indiana Beach is great! The property has no smoking signs everywhere, but the main lobby is absolutely being smoked in —I’m guessing by the owners who seem to man the desk. It smells wretched. The main lobby is also locked after hours making the ice machine inaccessible during the night and early in the morning.
- Jesse (8/5): Very good -
- Nicole (7/5): Good -
- Denise (8/5): Very good -
- Matthew (10/5): - There was a bed and I shower. All I needed. Perfect!
- Adam (4/5): - We booked a queen room months ago. We show up and they tell us they’re giving us two doubles. The lady behind the desk called the owner and said they couldn’t give us a queen. We hemmed and hawed and eventually got them to cave.
The sheets and the towels had stains on them and the bed was rock hard.
- Robert (5/5): Passable -
- Denise (10/5): Exceptional - Staff very friendly nice clean room air worked great loved the location to Indiana Beach Had a few to many little nappy bugs flying around but other than that nothing
- Justin (10/5): - Great
- Silviana (10/5): - A nice place to stay, and quiet
- Curtis (7/5): Good -
- Sydne (10/5): - Clean rooms, good tv stations, close drive to everything you’d need. Staff was nice and seriously for 98$ this was more than wonderful. Pool is small but it’s clean and you get towels at the front desk. Good place to spend the night!
- Angela (8/5): - It’s okay.
- Edward (8/5): - The staff took care of us
- Gregory (10/5): - Had a nice stay here, the staff was friendly even though I arrived late for check-in, the room was clean and well-furnished, I slept great!
- Jeffery (10/5): - I have stayed at this property many times in my business
travels and always enjoy it! It is clean, comfortable and quiet! The owners are real nice and very helpful if you need something.
- KATHLEEN (8/5): - Rooms are dated, 1 bed was comfortable, 1 was not.
- Schmitt (2/5): Very poor - It was good The loud music all night all weekend long
- Henry (9/5): Superb -
- Stone (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joyce (5/5): Passable -
- Jerry (10/5): - Was a nice clean place
- Debra (10/5): - The motel is in dire need of remodeling. The roiof and back side is in terrible condition . Otherwise it was ok.
- Barnett (8/5): Very good -
- Gary (10/5): Exceptional -
- Oluwafemi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bethany (8/5): - It is a nice, inexpensive motel. The lobby did smell very strongly of cigarettes even though it is a non smoking establishment. We got two key cards but only one worked unfortunately and we didn’t find out until the middle of the night when my boyfriend arrived and I was already asleep.
The room was clean if a little out dated. The plug situation was a little lacking, so bring a power strip with a surge protector if you think you will need to plug in more than two things or want something plugged in near the bed.
Overall, for what I paid it was fine. You can’t expect 5 stars for that price, but if you just need a place to stay it works.
- Ariel (7/5): Good -
- Ralph (10/5): - I loved it. Very awesome
- Jane (8/5): Very good -
- Acceneth (10/5): Good value for the price. - Clean, affordable older motel. Well maintained. Could use more comfortable matresses.
- Ian (6/5): Pleasant -
- kermit (10/5): - Room was as advertised. Clean, quaint, quiet. if your looking for a room to just spend the night on its perfect.
- Tami (5/5): It was just fair - The location was good for our purposes. The front desk person was very nice and helpful. Could have been a little cleaner, one of our pillowcases had blood stains and the carpet was grimy. The nightstand drawer was black with filth. The price for such a basic room was way too high, no coffee in room only two towels.
- Santos (10/5): - I loved the scam on this site, very good location
- Rogan (1/5): Room was not properly cleaned, place is completely run down - Room was gross. Carpets were stained, roof was stained with water leaks. Room wasn’t vacuumed
- Ian (7/5): It’s not a bad place really it isn’t but the WiFi could be better - It’s pretty quiet WiFi could be a bit better
- Ernie (8/5): Average room. Needs better cleaning - Room was adequate and comfortable. However in the bathroom there was long black hair on the walls.
- Charles (10/5): It was awesome - Plenty of parking and very clean Nothing
- Joseph (7/5): The space met my most basic needs. - Easy to access. Good WiFi and cable. On the clean side. Towels were very thin. Room was pretty drab and dark. Dated.
- Kevin (8/5): IB - Excellent pool and rural setting Old pool furniture
- Palmer (8/5): - The only issue I had with this hotel was that the WiFi was weak in my room (#221), so I had to go to the lobby if I wanted to go online. Besides that, everything else was fine.
- Pilipow (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lisa (8/5): - We had a nice stay. Room was clean, staff was good. Outdated, but we just wanted somewhere clean to stay and it was. Pool was super nice.
- Allyssa (10/5): - I had a wonderful weekend getaway here. Lots of Restaurants to choose from, and I felt very safe being here.
- Kari (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tracy (10/5): - Great location, clean, quiet, and great pool.
