Guest Reviews
- Ariana (8/5): - The room was clean, the staff were nice and helpful, the hotel is being renovated and it could be noisy during the day, the breakfast was OK but could be improved.
- Jamilet Yunuen (10/5): - Excelente hotel!
- Claudia (10/5): - We stayed in this hotel for 7 days. Best choice ever, quiet neighborhood, the staff was super nice and had great communication. Great location for shopping, dining and to engage with the local culture. I'll be back next time I come to visit Mexico City.
- Omar (10/5): - Grate location near to etc restaurants shops it’s the best place to be
- Catherine (10/5): Nice if you don’t mind a cold shower - The staff was lovely, the building was clean and in a nice, safe location. I really loved the layout of the hotel, the size of my room and the comfy bed. The roof top deck was really nice as well. My only complaint was the shower water was not warm or hot. I did enjoy a very hot jacuzzi though, so there’s definitely hot water on site, just not in the rooms? I was in and out pretty quick so it was ok for my stay but it is a shame about the showers because everything else was great.
- ROBERT (8/5): - Nice área hotel is nice ,service could be better restaurant service horrible nasty -but if you go about a block away to Fonda Trotamundo Restaurant the food is excellent for breakfast
- MARIACLARA (8/5): - It was a quiet place close to cultural things with easy access to transportation
- XINXING (6/5): - Good:
1. The front desk staff was friendly and patient 2. The room was spacious
Bad:
1.The bathroom window handle was broken, and it was tied with a piece of wire and could not be closed tightly. The room temperature was low, and the hot water was not warm so it was cold when taking a shower. Turning on the air conditioner did not help much.
2.On the second night, I found a large footprint-shaped stain on the bed sheet. Although it was washed, it was still faintly visible, which made me uncomfortable and reduced the sense of cleanliness. Because I was leaving, I did not tell the service staff. I hope that the next travelers will check it first.
Desayuno pobre. Staff amable.
- Karen (10/5): Great! - Great little hotel!
- Carlos (10/5): Exactly what we needed. - My Mom needed especial care so the staff went above and beyond to help us with the wheelchair. The breakfast was simple but nice, exactly what is needed to start your day in the City. The reception staff always friendly and helpful. The facilities are clean and suitable for any needs. We had many doctors appointments for my mom. JTowers is very well located in the city. We reached all hospitals very fast. Also being in Nápoles Neighbourhood, there are plenty of options for food, a mall, convenient stores even a gym.
- laura (4/5): Inconsiderate!! - I’m not happy with the fact that we were given a room for two and we had paid for three. We were given obviously a wrong room. We arrived at 7pm and were told in studs way by the receptionist that a bed would be delivered at 9:50pm. We were tired and couldn’t go to bed waiting for them to deliver an extra bed.
- Daniel (10/5): - Excellent place in an excellent location
- MARIBEL HINOJOSA (10/5): - The staff was wonderful they were there to help and make you feel comfortable. Great communication skills and great area. Marcos was so professional helpful I recommend this Hotel.
- GINA (10/5): - so intimate and personal, very nice staff, always a clean facility and rooms
- Ednita (10/5): - Had a big problem getting my luggage up and down the narrow spiral stairs. Almost fell but was able to catch myself but luggage went tumbling down at checkout.
- Jonathan (4/5): - The room was clean but it smell really bad(like toilet), the room didn’t have a coffee machine, i had to ask for it at the front desk, they gave me one and the room the first night had coffee cups but for the rest of the nights no coffee cups unless I buy more. During one of the dates the electricity of the place was off and they didn’t have a plan B to manage the situation. For this situation the elevator was not working which i can understand for the stairs didn’t have no light at all and was easy to fall(dangerous situation). The stay included breakfast but if you take tours the breakfast starts at 8am and in holidays at 9am which i was not able to take advantage of that.
- Glenda (2/5): - A strong sewage smell at all times, the small mini split A/C unit didn’t work properly, breakfast offered is only 2 eggs swimming in oil, 1 piece of cold bread and a tiny container with 4 cubes of watermelon. No other options.
- Jasmin (8/5): - The hotel met my needs and amenities were as advertised. Located in a nice area, close to shopping and dining. I withheld stars from cleanliness because I found some hairs in the bathroom, there was a crushed Red Bull can in my kitchen upon arrival, and the sponge and rag provided for the dishes needed replacement.
- David (4/5): - Hotel manager refused to honor my reservation. He said he never received the reservation even though the hotel confirmed the reservation several weeks before my stay.
In short, the manager blatantly lied to me and did nothing to help me out. I had to fend for myself in a foreign city which I have never been in before.
I wouldn't trust them!
- Jo (8/5): - Greta stay!
- teodoro (10/5): - Every thing esa OK
- kwang (8/5): - Liked: very spacious and comfortably laid out. Friendly and helpful staff.
Disliked: funky smell from bathroom and kitchen sink.
- Eric (6/5): - Nice rooms, lots of space with a kitchen. Kitchen could have more equipment.
I changed rooms after finding a bed bug. Room cleaning was inconsistent, not filling coffee pods, and lacking towels on one occasion. Equipments such as USB plugs not working, doors difficult to open or close.
- James (8/5): - The hotel was good, the only concern was the parking area, the space was very small and you have to move your car in order for other people move his car.
- Michael (10/5): - Nice clean and safe. Apt had all amenities needed. However, breakfast was missing several items that were on menu. No fruit or bread available both days we stayed.
- Markus (10/5): - Super Hotel i reccommend staying there
- Maria Jimena (10/5): - Mi favorito de ahora en adelante, love the room, the people, was a really nice choice and goin back for sure!
- Rafael (10/5): - Excelente lugar. Limpio, cómodo, a solo 1.5 cuadras del World Trade Center Mexico. El desayuno incluido esta delicioso.
- Laura (10/5): - Staff was really nice and polite and friendly
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Hotel is great and clean but parking is a bit of a hassle
- Frank (10/5): I highly recommend this place like being home - This was my second time... there are several things I love about this place.
1. WIFI enough to run Netflix
2. You can run Youtube and Netflix on their big screen TV
3. The place is ABSOLUTELY clean
4. Clean Clean Clean
and all the details have been addressed....
Highly recommend
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Everything was better than I expected. The room the staff even the breakfast and service was a pleasure
- Linda (10/5): - Receptionist very helpful with my limited Spanish. Ordered us a taxi for the next morning and helped with dinner reservations. The cookies in the lobby are delicious!
- EricaRaul (10/5): - It was an over all great experience! The rooms were clean and the staff was really attentive and helpful! Will stay again! Also the breakfast is so delicious! Safe area!
- Rodney (10/5): - The bed was too firm for me. Prefer softer mattress but the room was awesome!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This property is extremely unique and centered in a great location to be amongst the local community. Great restaurants and department stores right around the corner literally and also next to World Trade Center. Staff were great and helpful. Breakfast was on point as well and a great way to start the day. I will definitely return to my second home away from home in Mexico City soon!
- Alberto (8/5): Very good option close to WTC and Insurgentes Sur. - This is a boutique hotel very well located close to the WTC and Insurgentes Sur avenue with plenty of restaurants and other commercial places around. The building is recent, the suites are big with a separate bedroom, a living room and a kitchenette. There are plenty on lights in the suite with separate controls so if you want illuminated or dimmed is easy to handle. The closet is big enough, the internet service is good, the cable TV is average (no premium channels) but since it is a smart TV you can configure your Netflix account (if have). The breakfast in not buffet but have fruit, juice and eggs prepared on demand, cooker and waiter provide good service, the only issue is that service starts at 7:30 AM. Basically the only opportunity areas are in the bathroom, the shower goes from cold to hot and it is very difficult to get an average warm, and it is needed an anti slip mat. The other inconvenience is that all day the airplanes flight very low for landing at the airport and the noise is high, but it is not related to the hotel but to the zone. In summary is a very good option to stay in that zone if you don't have excessive budget restriction.
- Frank (10/5): AWESOME HOTEL - definitely need to stay here - Let me tell you... I read about all the hotels in the area... and this one had and "unusual" great review... so I book it thinking I would put it to the test.
OMG - this hotel really live to all expectations.... I stayed in a VIP Suite, and it was incredible! the service is that of a 5 Stars place... anything you need in your room.
I love a hotel with a great shower... specially in Mexico City where they are known for bad shower - THIS ONE HAD AN AWESOME ONE!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - What i liked most about the J Towers was the service i received at the front desk. It did not matter what time of day, there was always someone present to assist. English is my first language and the front desk made my travel to and from the hotel possible. I also was pleasantly surprised to find that even though the breakfast was continental that there was a chef preparing the breakfast.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The suites are big and compfortable... Nice Island kitchen great Coffee Maker... Refrigerator compfertable bed huge brand new TV... Great big shower... Excellent!.... Doesnt have a bar/restaurant but located near dozens of choices walking distance... Staff is very nice and helpful.... Super nice... Will stay there again!!!
- DAN (10/5): Very nice - Great room very clean good service, breakfast was made to order and good
- Verified traveler (6/5): Hot water shower need to improve. - Room is available but not allowed me to check in earlier. Hot water shower system need to improve.
- Simone (10/5): - The cleanliness of the property. That is something very important to me. I liked the friendliness of the staff also.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent! - The place is clean and comfortable, people are really nice. It was a great experience and definitively will come back
- Ariel (10/5): Great hotel and staff! - although the hotel was great and the staff even better, there were minor details that need to be looked at: the LED lights in the bathroom mirror were barely visible and the LED tape was falling, the shower head was clogged at some of the orifices so you have to move constantly to get the ones that work and, last but not better, the WiFi was jus terrible; not that the signal was weak, but the internet the speed was super slow. even the speed testers did say the speed was good, it took me over one and a half hours to watch one episode of a series streaming. the curtains should be motorized, because it makes no sense having to go downstairs (this particular suite is two floors) to open them in the morning.
please, softer mattresses
nevertheless, my stay was great, and I will sure repeat.
- Clifford (10/5): I would definitely stay again!! - A very nice place in a good location for walking or public transport. Hotel is close to shopping and restaurants, a comfortable walks distance. The room was large with two floors. The spiral staircase in the room was challenging. Hard to get luggage up and down. It is not for persons with mobility issues. The bedroom and main bath are on the second floor. The kitchen was convenient and so was the half bath on the first floor. We had a balcony off the living room which was very nice. The cleaning staff did a fantastic job cleaning the entire hotel, including our balcony. The desk, restaurant, cleaning, and door staff are very nice and helpful. The staff is one of the best I have ever experienced in a hotel. The street noise can be a bit loud, it’s a bustling city. We always felt safe in the hotel and outside walking to our destination. The only thing I can say I don’t like is having to put the keycard in a slot buy the door or the lights won’t work, or the A/C. It is for energy savings but, a slightly bit annoying.
- Gabriel (8/5): Excellent Place to stay in Mexico City - Location is excellent as well the service and personnel attention. Rooms comfortable and cozy.
We use to stay in this Hotel when traveling to Mexico City and enjoy our staying there.
Just in particular trip Internet was not working and stayed without connection for a week.
- Valery (4/5): Nickle and dime - At first the place looks beautiful and clean. At closer look it became obvious it’s on its way to being run down. Fixtures on the bathroom wall coming off, towels frayed, bathroom sink coming loose from the wall, hairdryer missing from the wall, and not to mention the floor was not clean because our feet were black after just arriving to the hotel and walking around barefoot.
The nickel and dime attitude really took away from the service experience. We arrived a couple of hours early and asked if we could check in, We were told if we did we had to pay an extra $30. I travel frequently internationally for both work and leisure and never have I been asked to pay extra to check in a bit early. Another example of this nickel and diming is you have to pay for in room coffee. Not that it’s expensive, it’s just shows the lack of service level. Welcome coffee was instant and only 2 tiny bottles of water were complimentary - I find that unreasonable in a country where the water is undrinkable.
Noise was also a problem. Very thin walls, bathroom window looked over the echoey lobby.
I specifically booked this hotel because the suite I selected claimed to be a massive 1292sq feet. This was not the case, more like 700 at best, although big I didn't appreciate the dishonesty. There was no balcony furniture as stated. The location was the best part of it, lots of great restaurants nearby.
- Elanore (10/5): - This is a really nice Hotel. The staff was very helpful. The only thing I would say is they maybe could use new towels.
- Luis (10/5): - Great customer service, they helped us with all we needed.
- Angelines (10/5): - I truly loved this place!! Location location location!! The whole stuff - general manager included - made sure that I was always fulfilled with every single need! Beyond expectations!! Amazing rooms! Beautiful hotel! Custom made Breakfast included! Will definitely be back every time I’m in Mexico City!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Really nice hotel walking distance to anything would need
- Juan (10/5): - The room was great, always clean, the breakfast was excellent and the staff was always friendly
- Amarilis (10/5): Comfort and relax in a good connected area - Very convenient location in a new building (3 years maximum), close to public transport and a commercial plaza with supermarket. A few steps from the WTC complex. Although the continental breakfast is basic, you can choose the ingredients for the eggs, type of bread (white or integral), coffee, tea o chocolate, type of fruit (with yogurt, granola), and has a very good portion so you get satisfied. Having the complete kitchen is convenient to cook basic stuff (quesadillas, soups). The best is the rooftop with the sauna and jacuzzi, also gym machines there; used the sauna a couple of days and it was perfect for relaxing after long walking or a bad day of air pollution (as in my case).
- Karla (10/5): - I love staying here, it's always clean and comfortable. I also love the location of it, very close to everything I need. And included breakfast is great!
- Mozarit (10/5): Great place - A great place. Staff was great facilities excellent. The mattress was way too hard. Other than that this place is a solid 5
- Doris (10/5): Great find, central location, excellent service. - It was a very pleasant surprise. First time staying here. Staff was very friendly and helpful, excellent service. Spacious room, but the small sofa and desk area are not comfortable. Will certainly be back.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great stay - Beautiful, modern boutique hotel, a few blocks from the WTC.
The only drawback was some of the street noise at night.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Incredible location and service!
- Verified traveler (10/5): WTC gem - This is a relatively new apartment-hotel located in a safe residential part of Mexico City conveniently located a few steps from the WTC complex, and within walking distance to many good restaurants, bars, cafes, movie theatres, public transit and parks. The apartment is clean, well-stocked with the usual hotel toiletries; in addition, the large kitchen with island and separate bedroom add to the feeling of home or provide a place to entertain while traveling for pleasure or away on business. The morning breakfast in the foyer cafe exceeded my expectations, as did the courteous staff. There is a rooftop patio with barbecues as well as a gym and hot tub; so great! One negative; There is a new construction going on next door with accompanying noise daily; ask when it will be completed. If you can, upgrade to the two-level suites with balcony facing the front street, as these are spacious and wonderful, with floor to second-level windows adding to the feeling of space, provided that you-and your luggage- can manage the spiral staircase to get up to the second floor, where you’ll find the bedroom and main bath. I look forward to my next stay.
- Eric (8/5): Comfortable home away from home - It was a good stay. We needed a place that had everything we needed while we took off for a trip abroad that was also pet friendly, and this was exactly that. It was also close to everything we were familiar with, restaurants, cafés, banks, movie theaters, in a very good neighborhood too. The creature comforts of the hotel were good too, wish there was a dedicated room service though and that the café was given more priority to liven up the place a bit more.
- Maria (10/5): - I like very much this Hotel, I will be back, very soon.
- Anderson (10/5): - Diligent and courteous from desk and restaurant staff.
- Joceline (10/5): Will definitivly recommend it. - Very friendly and helpfull staff. Not the ideal location, but metrobus station near.
- Ana (10/5): Lovely time at J Towers - We were so happy in our four day stay at J.Towers, it is brilliantly located with shops, restaurants, markets and cafes. Breakfast was delicious and the staff was very helpful and warm, we felt just at home, our suite was spotless and my three year daughter love the place. Thank You
- Gabriel (10/5): Awesome - Friendly and attentive staff, spacious and comfortable rooms. Convenient location
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great place! - Hotel was beautiful! I would totally recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Mexico City! I’m walking distance to restaurants.
- Verified traveler (10/5): J. Towers Again - Have stayed here many times before. All staff excellent especially Alejandra and Alejandro in reception. Only issue is the noise from the construction next door, but that is not their fault. Nice roomy place to stay. Location EXCELLENT 1 block from the World Trade Center. My last visit was During The Earthquake, and they fixed all the cracks in the walls.
- Anil (10/5): excellent hotel - great hotel. big room with kitchen.
- Ed (10/5): Search no more, this is it - I stayed at this hotel for a week in one of the best areas of Mexico City (surrounding the WTC). You have everything nearby and its also a quiet neighborhood. There could be a bit of traffic noise at rush hour in nearby streets but not enough to disturb. The facilities are top notch, with a big kitchen, huge living room, bedroom, two bathrooms, balconies, everything was up to par. The staff was very nice and commendable. I will definitely stay here again if given the chance.
- luis (10/5): A HIDDEN GEN - FANTASTIC PLACE TO STAY. - I got a notice 2 days ago that I have to be In Mexico for the show.. Usually I stay in the Crown Hotel but It was not room at this Hotel. Well to my surprise I fine a hidden gem. The J Towers was more that than I expected. FANTASTIC AND SPACIOUS ROOM.CLEAN. GREAT PRICE. I will recommended this place 110%..
2 recommendations. fix a little the breakfast -lunch place and add a electrical cord to the bedroom around the table....
- Bala (8/5): Need improvements in service. - Overall good. But some improvements are needed.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Another Stay at the J. Towers - Everything very good Except for the construction right next door (not the hotels fault), which started at 8:00am and ended at 6:00pm. Except for the noise during those hours hotel good.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice hotel with good location. - Staff are friendly, but only one man at the service desk can speak English.
- Bruice (10/5): Located in the heart of Mexico city. - Located in the heart of Mexico city. Near metrobus station, great restaurants, world trade center, shopping center, etc.
- Chris (6/5): Disappointed with water shortage - We chose this hotel seeing the reviews on Expedia. But it turned out to be disappointing. We were given a room on the 5th floor. On the second day morning there was absolutely no water in the pipes in the restroom. On reaching out to the reception, we were told that water was not coming on top floors due to pressure issues and nothing can be done about it. The only option they gave us was to use a restroom on the first floor and we were given water in a couple of jugs to use in our room. The person in charge at the front desk did apologize finally. But this experience was totally unexpected and disappointing!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Beautiful Boutique Hotel - Small hotel with great service. Full made to order breakfast each morning. Staff exceptionally helpful. Good location. Really loved staying here. When I go back this will be mt first choice. Rooms are modern and clean. I loved staying here.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Perfect for WTC trip - With a 2100 MXP cost it's really a good deal to stay in this suit. Even I didn't use anything to cook or seat in the bar neither in the sofa. It makes me feel very comfortable the space.
There is also a terrace and SPA which will be free to use and open when you ask.
I really recommend this hotel.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice Hotel in an Excellent Area - Second stay here they have sorted most of their issues. Not being remodeled this time. Breakfast area open this time. Breakfast ok not great. They have not figured out their phone system still unable to make long distance calls.
- Ruben A (10/5): Nice hotel and very quiet - Very nice hotel, free breakfast, only 20 rooms so it is very quiet!
- Hector (8/5): Convenient and affordable option - Great location. Need to get better pillows but for the price and the spacious rooms, it was totally worth it.
- Ariana (10/5): Great hotel - We loved it. The staff were great, the hotel was clean, pacefull and nice. The food was very good.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great hotel with home feeling - At only 20 rooms, the hotel feels like you are home. And hotel staff make sure you are "at home"
- Jan (10/5): excellent rooms - Excellent location, large rooms and very pleasing staff.
- JOSE (8/5): Great room, great service, great neighborhood - The rooms are ample and very comfortable, with edgy design. The hotel does not have a bar and the independently operated restaurant has a rather limited menu. The breakfast is good, but again the food selection is limited. The hotel cannot boast views, but the neighborhood is nice and within walking distance of many good restaurants. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Housekeeping left a clean room but didn't always leave towels or toiletries.
- Esther (10/5): Great place to feel home away from home - This hotel which is more a serviced apartment gives you great value for your money. Having full kitchen utilities (full size fridge with freezer, electric stove and microwave) allows you to feel home away from home. Service is great, cleaning every day, including fresh towels. They also provide a bath robe and slippers to enjoy after a nice shower in the big stall with rainfall showerhead :)
There is a supermarket in walking distance and many great restaurants.
The area is pretty safe, close to the WTC.
For me this is a great alternative for the other hotels where you not even have a bar size fridge, especially when you have to stay over for the weekend. The only point for change would be to have a television in the living area, now there is only one in the bedroom (a huge one though), but when relaxing at night or during the weekend it would be nice to be able to watch television while sitting in the living area on the couch :)
I will be back here for sure!
- Verified traveler (6/5): First Time Staying At The J.Towers - This hotel could be very good, BUT... Their phone system is a mess, you cannot make international calls from it (anywhere in the hotel) and they could not fix it during my stay. Restaurant was under remodel and had to eat breakfast on the terrace food was limited and with "instant coffee". Eggs were awful, not edible. If they fix these problems this could turn out to be a jewel of a hotel. Very clean room and facilities.
- Ian (8/5): I'd stay there again! - Nice modern suites. Kitchen with full size refrigerator, stove, and microwave was a nice thing to have for a week long stay. Bed was comfortable, and noise was not a problem apart on the back side of the hotel. The front (street) side was a bit noisy when trucks went by. The staff were all very friendly and nice. They have their own parking, but beware of arriving too late, as one of the middle of the night staff couldn't valet park cars. Breakfast was good in that it went until 10:30am each morning, but quite limited (some eggs, beans, toast, yoghurt, granola, and sliced fruit) after a few days - OK to hold over until lunch, but some more variety would be good. Hotel was quiet, which was nice. Avoid the room right under the gym (502) if you don't like the bang-bang from the machines up there. I also got to experience one of the two-level suites for a night, and I preferred the smaller single-floor suite. The spiral staircase is awkward with luggage, and downstairs is a lot of space you're not going to use. Smaller suite was a perfect "home" for a week though! Location is safe, with shops, and restaurants nearby.
- Raul (10/5): A great hotel run by great people - I must say this a wonderful hotel. I'll start with the the staff, all great people who makes you feel at home since the day of your arrival. The hotel is perfectly safe, clean, with a great location nearby to so many restaurants in a quiet and safe neighborhood. Thank you to all the people at j towers, you guys are running a wonderful, five stars hotel. I am planning more trips to ciudad de Mexico in the future, and this is gonna be my hotel for the times to come. I wouldn't stay anywhere else.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good location, new building - Large room in a newly renovated building. The gym on the top floor was great, across from the rooftop terrace. Walking distance to the World Trade Center and many wonderful restaurants. The staff are attentive, even brought fresh and strong coffee to my room on the hour and put it all together on a tab, which helped me work effectively.
