Guest Reviews
- Peter (10/5): - Overall, our hosts Francois and Wynn were very welcoming and helpful with local amenities. The breakfasts that were presented were both nutritious and gourmet delicious. We found our bed a little too firm after the first night, so Wynn cheerfully added a “topper” for comfort. Our bedroom was upstairs, which was okay for us but might have proved challenging for some guests. The bathroom amenities were very satisfactory but the towels and bath mat were tired. The parking was adequate but the steep driveway and small spaces required very careful manoeuvring. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend to our friends.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The room was very spacious and the bed and pillows were so comfortable. Francois and Wynn were very friendly and hospitable. They have years of experience in making people feel comfortable in their home. The highlight was Francois' porridge and very tasty eggs each morning topped off with a pot of excellent coffee!!! The location was convenient to Victoria and the Airport and made our stay there very enjoyable. Thank you for making our B&B experience a good one!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The king room offers a comfy bed and a nice view. Breakfast was incredibly good and the hosts were very nice.
- Franklin (10/5): - Terrific hosts. Outstanding breakfast. Spotless housekeeping. Near beach.
- Ken (10/5): - Comfortable and quiet. The proprietors were extremely friendly and accommodating.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent hosts Francois and Wynn, serving full culinary breakfasts and pleasant conversations that set a great start for a full day of visiting Victoria's attractions. Clean, quiet and relaxing bedroom with an updated bathroom, providing for restful night's sleep.
- Sheryll (10/5): - Wynn and Francois were so friendly and made me feel right at home.
- Will (8/5): Pleasant stay in a quiet location - The owners of Bayridge are very friendly and accomodating, the location is quiet and a nice drive to Victoria city centre, we will definitely book again :)
- Katrina (10/5): - Lovely hosts in a beautiful location! François and Wynn were very hands on and gave helpful suggestions on how to best see the city. They also served a scrumptious breakfast. I would stay here again.
- Jason (10/5): Best Bed and Breakfast - The greatest bed and breakfast I've ever stayed in. Wynn and Francois are literally the greatest hosts anyone can ask for. The room is super spacious and clean and there is a huge balcony that i can hang out at to enjoy the weather and view. There is also breakfast every morning that I always looked forward to since it was different every morning. It was such a great way to start the day. I'll definitely be staying here again when I return to the island. Thanks again for such an amazing stay and hospitality!!
- Vince (10/5): Great b @ b in fantastic location. - Fantastic location, spotlessly clean and breakfasts prepared by a French chef.
Great stay, highly recommended
- Rod (10/5): A home away from home - We were treated very will. In fact, almost like family! I could not recommend Bayridge B & B more highly.
- Frank&Lynda (10/5): Can't say enough good things - The rooms are very comfortable and very clean,,,not a dust bunny or cobweb in sight! The breakfasts were so delicious and nutritious made by Francois the French Chef...he is the real deal! The house is situated in a very quiet and comfortable neighborhood with easy access to many adventures. But most of all the hosts, Francois and Wynn, are delightful, gracious people. It was a pleasure to stay here and we will be back! Highly recommend.
- the Cyclists (8/5): Hospitable Hosts - The hosts offered tea as soon as we arrived setting the tone for an enjoyable stay. The king bedroom was large enough for our gear since we are cyclist and we had a lot. This house is located just off the Galloping Goose Bike Trail and easy to get to from the Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal. Breakfasts were excellent. It is clean and well kept. We will stay again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Large Clean Comfortable room - Large clean comfortable room. Breakfasts were delicious and hospitality was first rate. We enjoyed meeting the owners and our entire stay.
- Keith (8/5): Great hosts and room condition - The location of the B&B is in a residential district and not closed to parks or beaches
- Carlos (10/5): Huge thumbs up! - I give Bayridge B&B a huge thumbs up. I completely enjoyed my 3 night stay in mid- September. The home and rooms are clean, comfortable, and tasteful, and the breakfasts are healthy and delicious. Francois' various takes on eggs are honestly some of the best I've had, and he and his wife Wynn put in the effort to make your stay a thoroughly enjoyable one. This B&B seems to attract an intelligent and friendly crowd as I loved the morning conversations with the other guests. If I'm in the area again I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
- Robert (10/5): Beautiful view very attractive home - Very attractive home and room. Good recommendations for eating out, great breakfast, and good directions.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice place - Very friendly owners. Room was nice, but nothing outstanding. We had access to our room and a nice outside rooftop patio. No air conditioning.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Very nice place - We have spend few days in a perfect place! Special hospitality delicious breakfast than changes every day, amazing home made bread
But the most important was having such nice hospitality! I will be back and definitely to Winn & Francois s!!
Highly recommended!
- Victoria (10/5): Perfect - Winn and Francois are great hosts. Amazing breakfasts, very clean with everything we needed to be comfortable during our stay. Location was great to get into Victoria in about 15min but quieter setting for relaxing. 2 blocks from the water. Lots of emenities close by. Hope to see you again!
- David (10/5): Surpassed all expectations - This is the best bed and breakfast experience we have ever had. The rooms are very large, clean, private, and quiet. The house is located in a safe, beautiful neighborhood within walking distance of the water. The location is convenient, near the ferries and Butchart Gardens. Best of all are the hosts, Wynn and Francois. They are delightful couple whom we really enjoyed getting to know. We will be telling our friends about this place and look forward to coming back again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): The best kind of B&B - We loved this B&B in a quiet neighborhood north of Victoria. The accommodations were lovely -- beautiful view, comfortable beds, well-appointed suite -- and the food was fantastic. Francois and Wynn are thoughtful and welcoming hosts. Great experience.
- Drvet (10/5): Peaceful, Quiet Location - We thoroughly enjoyed the stay at Bayridge, the room was exceptional, nice patio we used to enjoy the weather and read. The hosts were very accommodating, and the food was a good way to start the day.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The home was very nice and very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. The hosts were very helpful. The only problem we had was finding the house when we first arrived. We did not have working GPS at the time and the street name was not posted on the end we arrived at. It would be helpful for the host to give directions.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent stay - Very close to grocery store and restaurant. Very accommodating and gracious host. I did a triathlon there and was able to bike to start of event. The inn keeper was able to assist me in putting my bike together. I could not have picked a better spot. The room was excellent!I will surely use them again. Gorgeous view from room. The food was excellent.great homemade bread.
- Paul B (10/5): Exceptional hospitality for a peaceful getaway! - Francois and Wyn are superior hosts. They were there to greet me when I arrived and went out of their way to accommodate me. They even gave me a ride to the main highway so I could catch the bus back to Victoria without hauling a giant suitcase.
The highlight of the trip was breakfast. WOW! Waffles, oats with flaxseed, fresh fruit, homemade rhubarb jam and fresh baked bread... This was beyond extravagant! And my second morning, when I had to be out the door very early, Wyn arranged for me to have oats and coffee to reheat. This was not my typical bed and breakfast experience!
The area is quiet and neighborhoody. You can walk to the bike path and a town center with grocery and a few shops. There's a local bus that goes nearby. The regional bus to Victoria is about 2km away, and I found it easiest to just walk there (nice walk, mainly on the bike path). I was there racing a triathlon at Wolf Lake, and found it extremely convenient for that. Of course, outside the city a car would be convenient - just not absolutely necessary.
The room was a large one-bedroom suite. It was clean and well stocked in the kitchen. The bed was adequate - not a luxury pillow top, but comfortable enough for a good night's sleep. There's a full-size refrigerator, stove, oven, counter space for cooking, a round dining table and a couch. Plenty of space for a longer stay.
I will stay again.
- Thien (10/5): Wonderful B&B - Fantastic experience. Francois and his wife are so warm and inviting it shows through in their home. Breakfast was amazing!!
- Graham (10/5): - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bayridge B&B the house is in a beautiful area with easy access to Victoria and Butchart Gardens. The owners are delightful and breakfast was an enjoyable start to each day. We would certainly recommend staying here.
- William (10/5): A Memorable Experience - Francois and Wynn couldn't have been more hospitable. They were excellent hosts. They were very helpful in making our ferry reservation to Port Angeles and informing us of sites to see in Victoria, providing maps and pamphlets. The breakfast Francois prepares is very delicious and we were sorry that we had to leave early the second day and missed being at their breakfast table. The room was very clean with nice quality furniture and the bed was most comfortable. The B&B is probably 30 minutes from downtown Victoria - an easy drive- and conveniently located to Butchart Gardens.
- Isabel (10/5): True B&B - This is an authentic bed and breakfast! The owners come to greet you and prepare a fresh, nice breakfast in the morning. We all sat by the table, ate and talked! It was a great stay!
- Kevin (10/5): Extremely clean and comfortable - Extremely clean and well maintained, each unit (not room) is a full apartment with multiple rooms including the most fully equipped kitchen you could imagine. The hosts are very warm, friendly, and welcoming, as with most good b & b's, and when you leave it feels like you are concluding a family visit. Francois is a professionally trained chef from France, and it is reflected in his outstanding breakfasts featuring organic and many homemade products. Even if you are not a cereal eater, be sure to try his special hot cereal made of multiple wholesome grains and spices. It is truly delicious and guaranteed to stay with you providing energy all day for your sightseeing and Butchart Gardens exploring. The Bayridge B & B is a very good value for all that you get and I strongly recommend it.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely - We had a lovely stay at this B&B. The breakfasts were amazing, the hosts very welcoming, and the room was large and comfortable. Would definitely return!
- ANTONIO (10/5): What a BnB Should Be! - We made a 3 days trip to Victoria, BC and stayed at this BnB, having a great experience. Operated by the owners who are willing to make you at home!
Even the location is about 15 minutes to Downtown though we had a car it wasn't an issue, furthermore, the neighbor is terrific!
The facilites cover everything a person needs to sleep and have for breakfast (that's the concept
right? ) Furthermore the special care the owners have in every detail maje me thing Bayridge BnB, is the way that everyone should be
- David (10/5): What a gem! - We stayed 3 nights in this wonderful B&B, hosted by master French chef Francois and Wynn, who also is a hair stylist. Their beautiful home is in a quiet, residential neighborhood a short 20 minute drive from downtown Victoria, 15 minutes from Butchart Gardens and the ferries at Sidney. Our spacious apartment had a full kitchen, a very comfortable queen bed, a separate sitting room with large cable TV, another room that had a murphy bed in it, a private bathroom and a balcony with a view of Cordova Bay and the mountains. Francois and Wynn are gracious hosts, and the breakfast they provide always included a delicious oatmeal and flax seed porridge, fresh fruit (some hand picked by the couple), and delightful egg dishes and pastries. Breakfast conversations with the hosts and other guests was lively and fun. It was an incredible and romantic getaway.
- Andre (10/5): Victoria's Hidden Treasure - My first time at a B&B and loved the experience! It was so enjoyable meeting new people and sharing conversation and a delicious breakfast made by a French chef! Everything about this experience was wonderful because the owners are kind, generous people! Already planning to stay here on our next trip! Also loved being able to walk to the beach, eat at the beach house restaurant, and hear good music on the patio; then go back to my comfy room in the evening surrounded by beautiful trees, and a light breeze.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This is a delightful B&B near downtown Victoria. The breakfasts are delicious and the owners are charming and interesting. The rooms are bright and have a balcony. The attractions of Victoria are within easy driving distance.
- ND (10/5): Very friendly BB hosts! - The hosts at the bed and breakfast were very nice and accommodating. Location is very quiet and peaceful. Short walk to the beach, which has beautiful views. First time staying in a bed and breakfast so I was a little nervous, but felt very homey.
- jean (10/5): - Hosts very welcoming. Parking difficult.
- Kelly (10/5): Wonderful Breakfast & a Stay like being at Home - This was our delayed honeymoon trip and our first visit to Vancouver Island. Francois and Wynn were wonderful hosts in sharing their home, the daily fantastic breakfasts with good company of other guests, and hospitality. The room was always clean and well stocked and they made you feel like you were visiting family. We will definitely stay again and encourage our family and friends to stay their too if they are in that area!
- Pamela (10/5): Excellent B and B - Booked this for my mother and she had only good things to say about her stay here.
- Carol (10/5): Wonderful B&B! - Our suite was huge, and included a full kitchen! We were very pleasantly surprised. More than enough room for three of us. Living room with a view of the bay. A lot for our money. Francois and Wynn are both very likeable and accommodating. We were pleased to find an excellent long bike path just around the corner. Francois's breakfasts were truly wonderful, and Wynn keeps the place neat as a pin. We enjoyed the morning breakfasts at the big table with other guests. A very relaxed atmosphere. We would absolutely go back next time we go to Victoria!
