- Ronan (10/5): - It was nice Nothing
- Emma (7/5): -
- Lee (8/5): -
- Pippa (5/5): Convenient but tired and in need of a refurbishment - The convenience of the location. The room size and ease of check in. The room was very tired with a broken sofa, curtains and multiple bathroom items. The hallways and lift smelt unpleasant, as did the bathroom. Breakfast was disappointing for the price.
- Christian (6/5): - Schönes Anwesen.
Ausreichend Parkplatz. Unfreundlichen Personal bei Ankunft (Check-In).
Golfer... muss man gewohnt sein.
Garten nicht sehr gepflegt.
- Russell (6/5): Nice looking hotel, well positioned - Nice looking building and lovely gardens.
Breakfast is excellent although one morning the coffee machine was broken and it took some time to get some. Room was a good 3 wood away from reception when you added up the yardage so it was quite a long walk if you fancied going outside in the evenings
Heating system seemed to be broken and no one had switched on the portable electric heater before my arrival so the room was cold and damp, which included the bedding.
Wi-Fi was also quite slow so had difficulty with communications in the evening.
- Harvinder (7/5): -
- Dafydd (3/5): Wouldn't recommend - . Toilet seat broken in room one - Room two soiled on carpet looked like shit. Window vent missing - smelt fawsty -
- Angela (10/5): Lovely relaxing 1 night stay - Dinner was delicious and the service great.
Breakfast lots of choice
Very helpful man who gave us a warm greeting Nothing! Rooms are a little old fashioned but I think that is part of the charm!

- Marjolein (7/5): Fairly good - Very nice place but poor maintenance Bathroom facilities and food
- Tracey (9/5): -
- CHRISTINE (8/5): Very pleasant for an overnight stay - The twin room was spacious with comfortable beds. Our particular room had no view however the grounds were attractive with old trees and well kept borders. There was plenty of free parking. The buffet breakfast offered all the usual options and was tasty.
- Andrew (8/5): -
- Jenny (9/5): Beautiful grounds, delish food and a brilliant room. - Brekkie was great - although slow on bringing extras out when the food ran out. There were no blinds on the top skylight windows, so it was very bright at 6am when the sun was up!
- Mary (10/5): Brilliant stau - Everything definately staying again Nothing

- Victoria (8/5): Beautiful accommodation in a perfect location for total relaxation. - Beautiful well maintained property in stunning grounds. Lack of choice within the menu, when staying for a few nights is easy to run out of options without repeating what you have already had. Lack of opportunity to have breakfast delivered to the room.
- Chimen (7/5): -
- Mary (10/5): - The staff the food the whole stay amazimg. Will defenitely be coming again. Nothing. Everything perfect

- angela (8/5): - Such a lovely atmosphere and the grounds were beautiful. Staff were for lovely and helpful Our a/c didn't work on our room but other than that everything was great
- raj (1/5): Would not recommend value or facility wise - From the outside the building looks very grand and stylish Our bedroom was tired and dated it had mould over a lot of the tiles in the bathroom. We had asked for a double bed and we’re given twin beds which were put together extremely uncomfortable no air-conditioning I would go as far to save a Travelodge would’ve been a better stay on this occasion.

- Hirani (10/5): - I loved the location and the premises. Perfect romantic getaway to spend with your loved one.
The interior is beautiful, giving it a unique, cozy experience. 2nd time, I stayed in the same room, and the AC was still not repaired and even notified the first stay.
- Neil (8/5): Great short break - Room was light and nice. Room was tired and needs an uplift at some near term point
- Colin (7/5): -
- Sid (10/5): Really happy - Nice. James at the front desk, I think he was management, was really welcoming. A credit to your business
- Oana (7/5): Great little gem even if not a golfer - A rather date place with nice grounds and super staff Could do with a touch of remodeling in the restaurant but all is forgiven due to staff that can’t do enough!
- Sara (8/5): -
- David (9/5): - Disappointing WiFi signal
- stewart (7/5): Great location. Great entrance. Comfy bed ruined by bed sheets that had a life of their own. - Location and Staff problem solving. Comfy bed. Attention to room details. First room TV faulty. WiFi poor. Key fob holder fell off. I was moved to another room. Found out in morning iron didn’t work. Bed sheets only way to describe - someone needs to be taught how to make a bed!

- LYNNE (8/5): Enjoyed the stay.. the wedding was great and the staff was friendly. - Visited for a wedding the food was excellent. Rooms .. First room, tv wasn’t working and the second room, had a portable heater in the room as the heating wasn’t working..
- Damon (10/5): -
- Amanda (8/5): - Beautiful grounds & friendly helpful staff. Room a little bit dated.
- Elizabeth Ann (10/5): Amazing hidden jem - The staff where exceptional and went above and beyond especially the reception and dinning room always greeted with a smile and warmth
The Manor is old and dated but adds to the charm
The breakfast was absolutely lovely and fresh Infact everything I had was lovely
The room was very comfortable and quirky as I stayed in the suite I decided to upgrade when I got there
The grounds where kept lovely and I often walked around as I felt safe
Big thanks to James & James for making my stay lovely and I was impressed when I asked the duty manager about the history of the manor and he took the time to tell me which was pretty good as he had only been there 2 months
I would definitely say the staff really made the stay more enjoyable and because of that I would not hesitate to come back and recommend There where no outdoor chairs and sofas outside the bistro restaurant which is a shame as I really enjoyed having a latte outside and would have loved to stay longer but the chairs where hard bistro chairs it’s a shame because the view is absolutely beautiful and peaceful
Just a point when paying premium or ordinary it would be nice if housekeeping paid a little more attention to folding the towels in bathroom more professional and checking that the bathroom floor is clean it really does make a difference
I just felt housekeeping let my stay down slightly but because the overall experience was fabulous and James sorted it out fast it was fine and my stay was perfect
There was talk of a Spa being built and that would be amazing and attract a lot of weekend breaks and I would definitely be up for that
- Evandro (8/5): -
- Orghidan (10/5): -
- mq (10/5): - The size of the room and bed. Staff were very friendly. The garden walk and garden.
- Lisa (10/5): -
- N (5/5): Average - Beautiful grounds There was a problem with the tv aerial for the whole property so we had no tv for over 24hrs. When I checked out I asked if there would be any compensation or a good will gesture and I was told by the manager that it wasn’t upto them to make that decision. I was told to leave my contract details and someone would contact me with regard to the Tvs not working. It’s been a month and no one has contacted me. That is disrespectful and bad customer service.
- N (5/5): - Beautiful I had an issue. I left my details for someone to contact me and nearly a month later, I’m still waiting. Not good enough
- callmemadam (10/5): Great hotel with amazing views - Friendly hotel staff. Warm welcome and not just for golfers. Lovely grounds, great green and good solid breakfast. Room was decent, comfy, clean, sheets were soft and new. No issues.
- Holly (4/5): -
- JULIA (10/5): Very enjoyable stay - It was lovely location, we were staying to visit the Harry Potter Studios and it worked out very well.
Staff were very nice and the dinner was very good.
- Catherine (7/5): - Breakfast and Dinner Room was cold on arrival however staff warmed it up. TV was not available.
- SEL_DAN (6/5): lovely setting, friendly staff, but requires a refurb - I stayed in Room 12 over the weekend and paid an additional fee for the “upgrade.”
Although I did have a lovely weekend with my family, and the grounds are lovely. There were several issues with the room.
I noticed and had to clear cobwebs from the ceiling.
The toilet did not flush properly and often required two or three attempts even for liquids - when i complained on the Saturday morning I was told maintenance weren't in at the weekend.
In the shower cubicle, there were flies caught in spider webs that hadn’t been cleaned.
Additionally:
There are no mirrors at head height near any plug sockets, which makes getting ready inconvenient.
To charge my phone by the bed, I had to unplug the only table lamp in the room, there are no USB ports and not even a double socket available.
The hotel is in need of a refurb..
- Tim (1/5): -
- stuartmO5243RY (10/5): Off-site meeting - I booked a meeting room and guest rooms for my delegates.
The meeting room was very well prepared and equipped. Lunch was really nice and plentiful
Delegates staying overnight were very pleased with their accommodation.
Thanks to Julie and her team for looking after us!
- K6373QMheatherg (6/5): Freezing cold room. - Let’s start with the good points, we stayed the night to celebrate our golden wedding. The staff were lovely, especially in the restaurant, where they made us very welcome with a special dessert.
Now the not so good points, the room was cold, with only a small fan heater for heating. The bathroom was freezing, when we asked for the towel rail to be switched on, we were told it was off for health and safety reasons. It was so cold we slept in our socks.
During the night I found something in our bed, which felt like a credit card. In the morning I discovered it was the housekeepers key. So had the bed been made or checked at all?
The shower was over the bath, the bath was very high. My husband didn’t feel safe using the shower as he could have slipped. I did risk it, but didn’t feel safe.
We asked to speak to manager to raise these points when we checked out and was given 20% off the bill. But they have failed to reply to my email, so hence the poor review. Do not stay here in the winter as you will freeze.
- mandycM6776MF (10/5): Birthday stay - Lovely stay for my husbands birthday on 6th march. Room was comfortable and the added birthday chocolates was a lovely touch. All staff were really helpful and food was really good. A special mention of James , food and beverage manager, really made our stay special with his charm and professionalism we really enjoyed chatting with him a credit to the hotel. Thank you all for a lovely stay .
- jacquelinehT9324XW (4/5): Better hotels available - I stayed for two nights. The room was cold, the tv didn't work, fire escapes are propped open in the evenings, and my key card failed to work on two separate occasions. The worst by far though was having my room also allocated to another guest who was able, with key, to walk straight in to my room. I would not stay here again. Food mediocre. Staff unconcerned with issues. Location pleasant.
- leeg772 (2/5): No tv reception in rooms poor staff and manager don't care - Booked shendish manor arrived in afternoon.no mention of having no tvs working .then I complained yo.manager at 7pm who said nothing he coukd do .no compensation.told me to send email which I did and return email just said its out of the way as there's problems in hotel no tv reception.in the room there is k
No co ne tin plugged in.anyway so staff knew this but was never mention on arrival. Very poor management abd hotel staff in competent
- Francois (9/5): Country Manor Retreat in Peaceful Location - The hotel is situated away from the main road up a long driveway so it's peace and quiet in extensive grounds featuring a golf course. Plenty of free car parking. Room was comfy, and warm. My bedroom was on the ground floor so easy access. It had a decent sized TV, private bathroom and air conditioning which seemed a little chilly on startup but within a short time heated the room. It's operated with a remote control so you can set your own temperature. I was warmly welcomed on arrival and the attentive service by the staff made me feel i was a special guest . Dinner was a delightful affair with some good menu choices and my choice of dessert was a bread and butter pudding with custard that was made to perfection, light buttery and fluffy. Breakfast is well catered for as well with the usual english breakfast choices but also the continental options are there for people who want a lighter start to the day. Exit time on the morning of departure is by 11am, which is plenty of time to have a lie in and make a relaxed departure. The bathroom seemed to need one of those scrapers that clear the droplets from the screen after a shower. There wasn't one i could see. But a shower mat was there and a grip rail so well done for safety provision.
- Phil (10/5): -
- Aksoy (6/5): Ok - Nice hotel The double bed was not a double bed. 2 single beds. Middle was not comfortable hurts your back and all nights were split. Not comfortable at all
- Joseph (9/5): -
- matthewfR2342FD (6/5): The staff are fantastic - Having read some of the negative reviews before we came, I would say that they are right and wrong, Firstly the wrong, the food is excellent and very good value, quality ingredients for dinner and breakfast. Where the negative views are right is in terms of the rooms, telephones dont work, tvs might work and the general state of repair is poor, curtains kept up by paper clips, scratched up and damaged furniture, sadly it is falling apart. We stayed in a double room, room 44, having been moved from room 27 because it was actually worse. Then there is the heating, the electric heater was problematic to get working but you shouldn't need a portable heater anyway. We enjoyed our stay, but this was down to the staff who were wonderful and the food which was excellent. This place could be outstanding, but whoever owns it needs to put their hand in their pocket and spend some money on it. It is not fair on the staff to take the brunt for a tight fussed owner!
- Danielle (1/5): Awful treatment from manager Charlie - The building is beautiful and so are the grounds. The manager Charlie is the reason we will never stay at Shendish Manor again and I warn others to be very careful if they have any conversation with him. We arrived for our stay and had booked a Manor House Superior double room. We got the keys to our room and opened it to a standard room. We went back to reception and explained that wasn’t the room we paid for and they said our room was out of order and we would have to stay in a standard. Reception said they should’ve contacted us before we arrived about the superior room now being unavailable but forgot. We then went to the standard room and the TV didn’t work and there was no heating. It also had a strange smell. We had to go back to reception and they had to find us another room. We had to wait an hour. The manager Charlie promised us a full refund as we’d paid for an expensive room and not only was unable to stay in it, but also had over an hour in reception and two changes. When we had checked out the hotel and submitted the refund request, Charlie denied ever offering a full refund. He tried not to respond to me for a month and then was very rude and denied everything. Be very careful if you ever have issues and Charlie promises to sort them as you cannot trust him. He clearly promised to approve my full refund as soon as it goes through to him as we did not receive the room we had paid for an had such an awful experience. I’m very upset and offended about how he handled this situation. I am often in the area and would have stayed at Shendish Manor again as I completely understand mistakes happen. However for a manager to lie to my face and then speak to me so rudely after is appalling and I can’t believe someone like this is even employed there.
- 386jodieo (10/5): Fantastic Venue & Team – A Memorable Event - We recently hosted a charity event at Shendish Manor and it truly was a fantastic experience from start to finish.
From the planning stage, Naya was incredibly helpful and organised, making the whole process feel smooth and stress-free. She was always on hand to answer questions and help bring everything together, which made such a difference when organising a large event.
On the night itself the setting was absolutely beautiful - it honestly felt like a scene from Downton Abbey! The atmosphere in the room was wonderful and the whole evening ran seamlessly.
The food was excellent and received lots of compliments from our guests. A special thank you also to Mohammed and James who were brilliant on the evening – professional, attentive and so friendly throughout.
We’ve had so much glowing feedback from our guests about the venue, the service and the overall experience. It was the perfect place to host our event and we’re incredibly greatful to the whole Shendish team for helping make it such a memorable night.
Thank you again to everyone involved.
- Paul (1/5): - Bar and food Room number 16 is so uncomfortable, the double bed is sooooo small and hard I didn't sleep one hour, RUBBISH.
Small room also, never again.
- Francis (10/5): A perfectly located, reasonably priced hotel with friendly and helpful staff - Beautiful grounds at a reasonable price
- michelsG1855EN (10/5): Excelent - Very nice hotel, kind and professional staff.
Breakfast, diner and lunch were excelent!
I would love to come again soon.
- Graham (10/5): Lovely well appointed hotel in a beautiful setting - Beautiful country setting. Friendly efficient and attentive staff. Lovely breakfast venue with good variety. Bedroom was big and bed was very comfortable.
- Monika (8/5): Very nice! - Nice clean comfortable and gorgeous setting TVs don’t have smart options
- Hans Joachim (9/5): -
- Mamatha (7/5): -
- James (10/5): Excellent overnight stay at Shenish Manor - Another fantastic stay at Shendish Manor.
James & his Team were friendly, professional & helpful as ever.
The room was spacious, clean & comfortable.
The room was good value for money & I
would highly recommend staying at Shendish Manor! No issues.
- Stephen (8/5): -
- IAIN (7/5): Most are excellent, this was adequate. - Breakfast is good. Stayed 6 times. This was let down a bit by the TV not working (freezing) and an odd smell in the stairwell to the Manor rooms. No other way to get to the room.
- Aderinsola (7/5): -
- OWEN (8/5): -
- Reinier (5/5): Mooie locatie, achterstallig onderhoud - Dat we maar een nacht bleven Vieze vloerbedekking, vlekken aan de zijkant van het bed. Oude doorgelegen matrassen. Badkamer is duidelijk aan renovatie toe.
Het ontbijt viel tegen.

- JennyBedfordshire (8/5): A pleasant stay - We only stayed one night but we were very impressed with the member of staff who booked us in and gave us information. The room was comfortable and quiet although a bit dated. We did not use the restaurant or bar on this occasion.
