Guest Reviews
- Bledi (10/5): Its was amazing i fall in love with this villa and all the space , i will come again - Everything Everything was perfect
- Robert (10/5): We had a really peaceful and enjoyable family vacation at Istar Villa. - The villa is large with great facilities and is located in a peaceful inland area. Cleanliness was exceptional. The host also met with us to ensure that we were happy and to provide information about the island.
- Guest (8/5): Prachtig huis , met een mega tuin. -
- Brian (10/5): Loved our time there the Villa was exactly what we wanted - This place is amazing and absolutely stunning, the Villa and the grounds are lovely and in a great location if you're looking for some peace and quite. The size of the shower cubicles needs addressing as they are on the small size and also some bins for waste could be nearer, ideally at the gates. This place is a 10 all day and with a few tweaks would be a 12.
- Emma (3/5): Should be stunning - BUT ISNT, DIRTY & UNKEMPT - Beautiful to look at
Over all it looks extremely impressive when you drive up on the outside and should be a love island retreat, it’s beautiful to look at …. but under the surface I would never stay here again. No hot water on first day
Hard to find key on entrance
No heated pool
No ping pong table when advertised
No basket ball court
Terrible over flowing rushing water each night in the garden - which WE SORTED in the end with the sprinklers
Very very dirty bathrooms / shower trays have never had a good clean
First bathroom floods!! Badly
Tiny showers and sinks
Small kitchen
Uncomfortable beds
BED BROKE on first night for my son, and was never fixed so good job we had other options
Ants in beds
Not enough remotes for air con or tvs and batteries going in most
We were told we would have house keeping- they came by and gave us loo roll!
Then when they did come & clean - they did the whole villa in 1/2 hour - nope not a great clean, all they did was re-make beds
We got intouch with owner and made complaints about the table tennis and remotes / hot water etc - we were told the table tennis was on its way.
It never came.
The hot water was switched on - that was it.
Tiny bathrooms, a million dining areas. Relatively small bedrooms. It should be a real dream place. The pool feels like an after thought …. With the only steps down from the front door?!
Interior stairs are strange and a death trap waiting to happen. My husband CRACKED HIS HEAD ON THEM - very badly
But I’m sure others will agree The place just simply dosent seem to flow or work …. the architect I’m sure was drunk when he drew the place.
Over all it looks extremely impressive when you drive up on the outside and should be a love island retreat, it’s beautiful to look at …. but under the surface I would never stay here again.
It’s very tired, dirty and not a nice place to stay.
We got this villa at a good rate out of season there is NO WAY it’s worth the full season rate But this is all of course my personal opinion.
HOWEVER THESE REVIEWS DONT SEEM TO CHANGE ANYTHING IN THE VILLA - the owners simply keep taking the money because peoples opinions are based on the initial photos.
- Paula (9/5): A very relaxing stay in a beautiful setting - Outside space and facilities were perfect, the indoor living areas and kitchen were spacious too - met our requirements. The bathrooms and shower cubicles were too small - given the size of the bedrooms there is plenty of opportunity to provide bigger en-suites and bigger shower cubicles.
It would have been handy to have a starter pack on arrival - we landed after supermarket closing times so had access to nothing until the following morning.
- Byron (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paul (4/5): This place is tired and past its glory days. Please replace old mattresses, don’t advertise your pool as heated (it’s no - Location. Size. Cleanliness. Lots of little things didn’t work or were broken. Promises were made to fix them. Nothing was done. Pool not heated as promised. Said they would fix it. They didn’t. Door locks and shutters were broken so the property was not 100% secure. Some shutters did not open at all in the bedrooms which is a massive fire risk….again not fixed. Feels like it was the end of season, they did not care about any issues we had and they just wanted our money.
- Damien (8/5): Loved it....but a few minor adjustments needed to improve things... - The property is a lovely villa. It is situated in beautiful grounds with plenty of space and privacy. The size of the villa is wonderful and felt very luxurious size wise. The tennis court, table tennis table and pool table are a wonderful addition to this villa giving you things to do should you wish. This property is located in a perfect location for getting to the beach, the local town, the supermarket, restaurants with some of the best views we have seen from a restaurant, and then minutes from mountains with the best views also. The villa is also only a short drive from the airport meaning there is minimal travel after arriving in Greece from the UK. We had a few issues and they were resolved quickly (although they should not have happened - but did happen and did get resolved). We had issues with no hot water (for 24 hours) and on our last day we lost water completely, we had to contact the owner. The hot water issue was resolved but wasn't ideal. The last day we needed to shower before leaving for the airport so this created a lot of stress on our last day leaving a slightly bitter taste at the end of our stay. The kitchen could do with a few more utensils, there just needs to be more utensils in order to dish things up once cooked...seems fairly small but when trying to serve food this was a difficult. The beds need updating immediately, they are just not comfortable and if we were to give any advice or return it would be to take a mattress topper as ALL the beds are solid to lay on. The bathrooms are very small in two rooms and the shower cubicles are almost impossible to get in to, and if you can fit in them you cant really move. Given the size of the villa this does feel like a missed opportunity given how much space there is in the rest of the property. The details of the villa state "heated pool", it is not. And in the morning was very cold. The details also show photos of a bar area by the BBQ, it would be good to update these photos as this is not there any more, just 4 bar stools against a wall, slightly misleading. A big issue was the bedroom 2 shutters do not open so are permanently closed. Nice for keeping out the sun, but if there had been a fire this could have been life threatening and needs resolving immediately! The details also state "daily housekeeping". This is every other day, and the housekeepers made this clear on day one, it should not be stated as daily if this is not the case. I would also suggest giving better instructions for the key location. It reads as though they are at the entrance to the property, they are in fact at the entrance to the road leading to the villa, if the gardener hadn't been there we would have needed to make contact to find out where they are.
- Louise (9/5): Lots of fun and easy - Perfect for my needs The internet was only connected 10% of our stay and nothing appeared to be done about it. Other things went wrong but were attended to. Stopped me giving the trip a 10/10
- Helen (9/5): Superb -
- Clare (10/5): Stunning villa in a beautiful location, well equipped. - The property was just what we were looking for, plenty of room for everyone to have their own space if needed. Very tranquil, we always pick a villa away from amenities but saying that it wasn't far to drive to supermarket, restaurants and beach.
We had a couple of issues but these were put right straight away, communication from owner and team was quick and responsive. Nothing was too much trouble for them.
Would definitely stay here again. Our only fault would be the showered in bedrooms were very small, not alot of room to move and wash properly, due to the large tap.
And could do with putting something on the underneath of the stairs to protect someone from hitting their head on the metal, there are signs but we had a 15 month old who kept walking round them, we did wrap a towel around the corner post.
- Jan (8/5): A few very small and cheap changes would make this villa jump from good to amazing. - Lovely garden, lots of outside seating and dining areas, fig and pomegranate trees and lots of space. The tennis court surface and net were in perfect condition and the barbeque was also very good. The pool was just warm enough to use at the end of October.
Lots of space in the house and comfy sofa and beds. The teenagers loved the pool table.
Everything was very clean and someone popped in a few times during the week to bring fresh towels, make the beds and empty bins. The house and garden were run very well and seemed to be cared for - and it was nice to find that there was enough toilet rolls and dishwasher tablets for the whole week - not just for the first couple of days! Thank you. There is no fence around the tennis court which means that you have to walk around the garden picking balls up between games. Sometimes they go over the hedge into the olive grove next door - which is a long walk round and then you are in a farmer's field!
The showers are very small. This is silly when the house is so huge!
The kitchen is also small and does not have any oven dishes or serving bowls.
It is also a shame to arrive to find nothing in the cupboard - no salt, pepper or olive oil and no matches to light the BBQ.
- Elaine (8/5): The Istar Villa is a beautiful home on an even more beautiful property. - This Istar Villa is a beautiful home on a beautiful property. The grounds are unbelievable including a chapel building, shade covered park, tennis court, and pool with outdoor bar. The size of the home is large with plenty of space for our family of 9. The modern decor is lovely and elegant. The billiards table on the top floor was very nice and a big hit with our teenagers. For some reason we did not have hot water for the first 24 hours. Thankfully the water was fixed on our second day. There was also a mysterious odor in the kitchen that we could never identify, which was a bit of a turn off.
- Tilly (7/5): Lovely villa and lovely hosts. - The villa is absolutely stunning and the pictures don’t do it justice.
The hosts were lovely and did attend to the property when there was no electricity.
Cleaner was brilliant and very thorough.
Pool table is a great feature
It has an iron and ironing board
Relaxing and secluded location.
Electric shutters on the windows. - no electricity or hot water on arrival so had to wait for an electrician to come and sort everything.
- toilet in the master bedroom doesn’t have a button so it’s just constantly flushing.
- ice machine doesn’t work.
- there were mice in the house and we could hear them running inside the walls.
- one of the bedrooms had the television removed off the wall and not replaced.
-the pool wasn’t heated.
- you need to hire a car, it’s so far away from everything and between me and my friends have spent well over €300-400 in taxis.
- no door between the main bathroom and the main bedroom so anyone can walk in to use the toilet whilst you are in bed/ getting ready or have no clothes on.
- Bernard (8/5): Very good -
