But I am guessing this is for good reason as we stayed in a room the smelled like wet socks and the carpet was discusting! We had to wear our shoes in the room and even the shoes would stick to the floor. The staff was nice and answered all of our questions but in this price range I would look elsewhere until they finish the remodel.

The place is not in the best of neighborhoods, meaning it's not the worst neighborhood I've been in but not like you will see a Starbucks or anything upscale. I felt safe, basically I was only there to shower and sleep. I had someone with me so I felt safer. The hotel could use some updates, paint, newer curtains but I was surprised how clean my room was and the bathroom was actually spotless. No stains on the curtains either. The check in people were very nice and all smiles which I liked. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were really white. I inspected everything and still did a bleach wipe down but I would do this even at a 5 star hotel. I would stay again because of the cleanliness. I'd rather stay in a clean place than something upscale that is filthy. Check out was great too and I will say Expedia charges you the exact price and I was happy about that because other sites put a $200 or $300 hold on your card so I will be using Expedia from now on.

Verified traveler (4/5): Not worth the money. - Breakfast was good. Coffee maker in the room. Towels and shampoo/soap present. Room was not ready when I arrived at 4: 30 PM . I have to wait until it got ready.The hallways smells.Bathroom was not clean with hair on floor, bathroom door was stained. HEAT WAS NOT WORKING. They have a space heater to heat the room. I left it on all the time, I was afraid that it could catch fire.Weak wifi signal. Despite presence of front disk receptionist, building side door was open and I came through it directly to the room. They insisted to copy my driver license !!

The rooms were a bit small but nice and clean. There was also a great little breakfast. The staff were helpful and nice. Would definitely stay there again.

Very (2/5): - We arrived at the hotel only to find that they had no record of my reservation. My Expedia confirmation number was apparently linked to another person's reservation for the night before. The staff was incredibly rude to my husband and myself, could not accommodate us because they had nothing available and had charged my credit card for someone else's reservation. I am now working on getting the credit for the charges they processed. I am very upset that they charged my credit card without even looking at the name which obviously didn't match the name on the reservation.

ANA (10/5): Clean and pleasant place. - The hotel is not close to the beach but the bus stop infront leaves you two small blocks from the beach so not to bad. The same bus will drop you off infront of the hotel. Very cleand and comfy.

Kathleen (2/5): Night manager blocks disabled customer from leavin - I was harassed for parking in a disabled parking spot even though I have a NYS issued permit because the night manager said I didn’t have a real disability I will be filing a complaint with the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act)
Rebecca (10/5): - My stay was great. I arrived early from an out of state flight and they were able to accommodate an early check in for me. Room was clean. Bed was comfy. Convenient location for grabbing a ride to where I needed to go. I would stay again.
Neal (2/5): - Dont go. Stayed here 4 nights for business. Saw the security guard asleep in the lobby on two of these. Staff is cooking their meals there with something that keeps the entire first floor smelling horribly. Cleaning crew keeps their carts in the hallway 24/7, while sitting in the rooms playing on their phones. Rooms need to be remodeled as there is paint coming off the walls and ceilings. Lastly, its in a commercial neighborhood, making it a long walk to food and entertainment.
K (6/5): - This hotel is located in an industrial area with a cement plant directly across the street, so it was very noisy. The rooms are decorated nicely, but very small. I wouldn’t stay there again.

James (8/5): Good for what it was - The rooms were small but clean; the service was good quality. The hotel doesn't have many amenities but that's fine because it was inexpensive. The neighborhood isn't the most scenic, but the hotel is about a half mile walk to the Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue subway station. There were only about twelve parking spaces but there seemed to be ample street parking regardless.

charlene (2/5): Disappointing - My fiancé came from Maryland we booked this hotel because it is close to my elderly mom & we thought it would be nice. The 1st night we stayed was ok the 2nd night the fire alarm continued to go off with no explanation as to why ultimately through the night it continued to go off. Needless to say my fiancé did not get any sleep & she had an early morning departure. We booked another weekend a large laundry truck tried entering the small narrow parking lot even though there is a street entrance ultimately the truck broke down preventing anyone with a vehicle from exiting. There are guest there that smoke in the rooms and our room smelled strongly of smoke & neither of us smoke we complained to the front desk with no result it appears that this hotel is also a shelter for the homeless if that is the case we should not pay almost $500 for 2 nights & be ushered out at 11am. Both nights the smoke was unbearable then someone kept slamming a door right outside our room continuously then there were fire trucks called to the hotel & again if you don't ask they don't tell you what is going on apparently someone burned something in the hotel one of the hotel permanent guests. by far this is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in.

joan (2/5): hotel nightmare in Coney Island. - I was there for 2 nights. after the first night i was informed that i needed to give them my credit card information for the second night or i would have to leave. after a heated discussion and the fact that i was not in the room at the time and would have to return from my location they were able to use the information i provided when i booked. When I went to check out they said i owed them money for the second night. I had booked this with a debit from my bank account and was able to show them at the desk that it was paid for. the experience was very unnerving. the free breakfast was all poor quality foods that was produced in a overall poor manor. room was not cleaned after during the stay. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone.

The breakfast had barely anything left and didn't get a response when we asked for a bagel. Coffee was cold and there were no eggs left. Terrible place to stay

It was a little small, but was not a real issue. We went to see Coney Island and it was located right down the street from the hotel. Would stay here to go into NYC since the train station is at the next street.

kate (2/5): Cockroaches on beds!!! - Terrible experience. First let's start from when my husband picked up the blanket from the bed it was cockroaches under. Then in the morning he got food poisoning in the hotel. My advice stay away from this place. Horrible horrible horrible!!!

Jack (8/5): As close as you can get to Coney Island - A.short walk through a dingy industrial area and there you are... Coney island, the rides, the beach, the boardwalk. Couldn't find any place closer. Clean and updated, great breakfast, helpful staff. Adequate security. If you don't want to walk past a few auto shops, take a five dollar cab. But we found the walk interesting enough. Brighton Beach just another half mile down the boardwalk. Subway station not too far. Hey, it's New Yor City. . What the heck.
Rick (6/5): Only hotel near Coney Island - really small hotel room. Not the cleanest rooms. Rates are high for what you get.. It is about .8 of a mile walk to Coney Island. Industrial neighborhood. hardly any parking. Staff was OK. took photo copy of my credit card. My credit card was compromised the same week.. Shady English is second language. Enjoy!

Ruby (10/5): Coney Island Stay - It was really nice. Front desk was very efficient and friendly. Security and Housekeeping as well. Rooms are small but very clean. Sound proofed, didn't hear nextdoor neighbor considering how small the room is. The only hotel that is less than a mile to Luna Park, Coney Island boardwalk and NY Aquarium. B64 bus will take you to the center of it all in 5 minutes. Just check on the bus time because it has a longer gap of service than regular busses.

Oleg (10/5): Sleep Inn in the city that never sleeps - This is an excellent base for a family trip to New York City. The hotel is a very short walk away from a subway station. It is a very short drive from the Coney Island amusement park and Aquarium. You can go exploring new "hip" neighborhoods of Brooklyn like DUMBO, Williamsburg. Hotel has safe and convenient off the street parking. Free breakfast would get you going for the new adventures every morning.

JUST WISH THERE PILLOW WERE MUCH FIRM & THAT THEY HAD A SMALL POOL AT LEAST FOR KIDS. LOVE THE BREAKFAST & THE COFFEE WAS AWESOME PERFECT MADE SPECIALLY WHEN YOU HAVE KIDS, I NEED IT THAT COFFEE. Nancy (10/5): Great stay! - I booked this hotel on very short notice for the Friday of New Year's Eve in New York City. Needless to say, there weren't many rooms to choose from at a reasonable price. I looked at the Sleepin on Coney and saw that it was only 2 stars but I figured it was only 1 night so we could deal with whatever happened. I have come to the conclusion that this hotel is definitely more than 2 stars. There is Free parking in a safe lot behind the hotel, very clean rooms, a wonderfully soft bed, Free Wi-Fi, and a breakfast bar that included the chance to make your own fresh Belgian waffle or eggs. If this wasn't enough, the staff was very nice too! This is one of the nicest hotels I have stayed at in a long time.
