- Robert (10/5): outstanding stay on the Outer Banks - The breakfast was outstanding. We enjoyed having an awesome meal with view to the Pamlico Sound. They also have nice outside dining area that you can choose at nice weather. The location was also great, you can discover all of the Outer Banks by car. Even the small and verry natural finish island Ocracoke when you take the free ferry from Hatters. They also have plenty of amenities as a fire pit, canues, stand up boards and more that are free to use.

Never received an afternoon cookie as they were done by time we got there. Also needed blankets. Just took the one from my car. I know I couldn’t asked. The bathrobes were for extra small people so wasn’t able to use them. Did see either a cockroach or palmetto bug. But only once. Realize impossible to keep them away while staying in water. The kayaks were dirty and the only tandem one had no seats.

- Jennifer (10/5): Lovely inn with gracious hospitality and delicious included breakfast - Inn was selected based on travel blog recommendation which indicated it was a splurge with nice accommodations and amenities. Traveled with husband by car, free parking on site. Inn was located on sound right off highway 12 and was quiet. We checked in at staffed reception area. The hostess was warm, friendly - absolute perfect hospitality which set the tone/mood of our stay. We were treated to a complimentary room upgrade with a balcony, king size bed, located on the first floor (ie, no stairs - not sure if there are elevators for second floor). Our room and bathroom was spacious. The king size mattress felt like a Tempur-Pedic and we slept well. The room was quiet. Breakfast from the menu (wonderful/interesting selections) was included ($5 service fee per person is charged for wait staff) in the room cost and was generous and delicious. Typically we stay in budget accommodations so this was a deviation for us. When considering the cost differential/value of our other stays, I would say our room décor was nicer (though not significantly nicer), our bed was very comfortable, the view beautiful, the staff absolutely lovely, included water activity amenities (kayacks, paddle boards, etc) nice, and included breakfast very good but not sure for us it was worth double the cost of our other stays.

- Steven (10/5): The perfect spot to spend your VK in Cape Hatteras - The property was wonderful! The location was beautiful, and the view made it even better. The owner Steven was the perfect host, and he and his staff were very welcoming and attentive. The resturant was excellent for breakfast, however, it was a bit pricy for dinner. It all tasted very delicious, however, it would have been nice to have some price levels to choose from.

Scallops Carbonara 🥂 The wind was strong so I didn't get to walk the grounds & It made for some unexpected noises through the night 😞.. unfortunately!

Staff was very friendly, good cookies and very greatful for snacks in room upon arrival. For the area it was probably good.
- Be (10/5): Fantastisches Island feeling - Ein fantastischer Ort für "relaxed Island feeling" ! Sehr freundliche Menschen, gemütliche Unterkunft, entspanntes Leben am Wasser. Die Unterkunft ist gut durchdacht, man hat alles was man braucht, wenn auch auf andere Weise als in anderen Hotels. Z.B. kein Kühlschrank im Zimmer, aber ein sehr großer auf dem Flur (direkt vor dem Zimmer). Der große schwarze Käfer im Zimmer :-) aber dafür kann das Hotel nichts.... Wenig Ablagefläche im Bad, aber das macht der Ort insgesamt locker wett.

I liked there was a connection to the restaurant without having to go outside. Really liked the duel headed shower idea. The front of the place gave the impression of a low rated inn. It caused us to feel unsure about the place. But the inside was cozy. Lastly, the main light in our room didn’t turn on

Only one negative note: the walls and floors are thin, so depending on how busy and how lucky you get with neighbors, and your tolerance for human noise, this may affect your experience.

The inn is quant and the rooms are nice. Being on the sound side was not conducive to swimming. Also there is a constant pungent smell on the sound side. The owner was arrogant. He didn’t like me questioning the bill. I felt like we were black listed after that and the service became very slow. For example we waited at the hostess stand at the restaurant in front of the hostess for several minutes without being spoken to. It was like we were invisible. We were the only guests there at the time! The owner told us more than once that the restaurant on the property was the best one in the area We ate breakfast and dinner there and the food was average but very expensive. The next evening we drove down the road a few blocks and got delicious shrimp at half the price

I am so happy I took the chance of staying on the Bay Side of the island. The Inn on Pamlico Sound is an absolute treasure, I felt almost like I was on another planet. The sky & the ocean were nearly the same color & I took break-taking photos! The breakfast, cookies, jacuzzi tub, bathrobes (we bought one to take home!), resort clothing (I bought two soft hoodies) the VIEW & staff were the highlights! I would be advised it is a newlywed destination… the couple above us had a really fun night, thankfully my 17 year old son found it humorous. ;)

- Susanna (10/5): The most beautiful place on this island and could not have picked a more perfect place - The breakfast was delicious, we did not have to add any seasoning to the food it was perfect. Our hostess Willow which we had both mornings was a wonderful, sweet, excellent person. We loved her personality, so much, she was so helpful and also the most beautiful smile. Our hot tub in our room was not working, the last night we were there my husband figured out that the outlet had to be reset. We are on our honeymoon and that would have been wonderful to use.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Island Time - My husband and I enjoyed our stay at The Inn on Pamlico Sound and would highly recommend it to visitors. We were able to quickly relax and unwind while taking in the beautiful view of the sound just outside our window. The inn features a pool, an excellent restaurant on site, a garden, a boardwalk, bikes, umbrellas, and many other amenities. Stay there and enjoy some island time!

- Kelsie (9/5): A homey and relaxing retreat on the sound with incredible views and amenities! - The location of this place was incredible! Gorgeous views of the sound from the room and restaurant. There was a beautiful large deck, a small pool that would be perfect for floating, and a winding dock going out to the water. My husband and I stayed in the Sunflower room and it was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was included (minus a $5 gratuity per person) and the food was divine. Each member of the staff was super friendly and we were always greeted with a smile. Fresh coffee was available in the common area every morning and fresh cookies were available every afternoon. There was a theater room and a huge selection of movies to choose from if you’d like. The Inn has a selection of bikes, kayaks, paddle boards, life jackets, etc. for guests to use for free whenever they’d like. Unfortunately the weather was too cold and windy for us to take advantage of these, but maybe next time! Overall, this place felt so much more personal and relaxing than a “regular” hotel and it was a refreshing break in the least touristy part of the OBX. The stay overall was lovely, but our room shared a wall with the restaurant. Noise from the staff and diners was easily heard through the walls relatively early before the breakfast started, as well as relatively late after dinner hours. There was nothing that could be done about this, unfortunately… Another minor complaint was that drain stopper in the tub in our room was leaky so I was unable to use the jet tub to take a bath. I did not mention this to any of the staff, because it seemed silly to complain about something like that.
