Guest Reviews
- Gina (1/5): - Absolutely nothing. Would not recommend. Hotel or room was not as pictured when booked. When we went to our room we was met with staff in the room spraying scented spray onto the floor and trying to dry it with a leaf blower. Room was uncleaned and really dirty from bed, furniture, and bathroom. Spoke with the owner to discuss the issues and ask for a refund to be told non refundable. We did not even stay at the hotel and had even arrived early to still be charged a night's fee.
- Lulzim (8/5): -
- lovely apartment. (10/5): - Todo estaba muy bueno.
- Stiles (9/5): -
- Cheryl (8/5): Perfectly comfortable and felt safe. - Location Location Location. Little better cleaning of microwave and bathroom floor would help.
- Richard&Paulette (10/5): Nice place to stay - I had accidently booked the wrong day. I realized this when the gentleman called to ask what time we would be arriving. I told him I didn't book that day but after looking back I had accidently. He said don't worry he would take care of it. He book us in for the next day without a charge. That is great customer service.
- Yandy (10/5): -
- Richard (1/5): Pubic hairs in the bed and in the bathroom. - Do NOT stay here. There was pubic hair in the bed when I pulled back the sheets. I showed a worker and they said it must have come from the laundry..... I asked for a refund which they refused and then I demanded a refund. The manager said because I booked thru Booking they would not refund me. When I submitted a cancellation request thru Booking.com, they told me the Hotel has to approve it. When I asked the Manager if he would approve the cancellation I submitted and refund me, he said that was up to Booking.com. So no one has helped me, I'm out the $90ish. Read above......
- Shiquita (1/5): Horrible - ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! When I arrive to the property, no one was at the front desk. I couldn’t get my date switched to the actual date that I needed. No one was there to help assist the office door was open. No worker was available. I was traveling with my daughter and it was like 2 AM so I get this place zero stars. Rooms look dirty the staff wasn’t there. No customer service. It was horrible. The entire trip was horrible. The hotel was horrible horrible horrible horrible zero stars.
- Will (9/5): - It was very clean and comfortable for the low price.

- stephen (10/5): -
- Cheryl (8/5): Good place to rest - Eady to find, great staff, and a good facility with the room. NA
- francisco (8/5): - Staff always willing to help Tv receiver and television weren't working right.
- Sami (7/5): You get what you pay for. -
- David (9/5): -
- Silvia (3/5): - There was blood on the light switch. Dirty towels. And I cleaned showers
- francisco (9/5): -
- LEE (1/5): -
- Cathy (7/5): Cheaper than Gainesville - Price was good. This is an older hotel, rooms are OK but could use update. (Dirty carpet, drapes no longer hanging well). Bed was OK comfort wise, bedding clean. Just felt like overall it was dirty and old smelling.

- Francisco (10/5): Great place to stay -
- Teresa (1/5): Very disappointing!!!! - Location to where we had to be all weekend was convenient. It was old, dirty and disgusting. Wouldn’t go bare feet at all and was only willing to take a shower with my socks on. This was the nastiest place I have ever stayed.
- Stuart (4/5): I have stayed there several times but in better rooms - Close to family Had to take lid off toilet tank to do a manual flush
TV did not work
Warm shower but not hot
- Elizabeth (7/5): Cute little cheap place with nice staff. - It’s cute and the location is great. We got a last minute room pretty easily. The shower in our room didn’t work so we had to wash using the bath faucet which for a two night stay for two adults was a bit of a nightmare. They also don’t have a trash can in the room so we had to make a little trash pile.

- Debra (6/5): Affordable and friendly - Staff was really sweet. Our room was comfortable but they we’re still needing to clean up after some renovations… Paint on the mirror, adhesive still on the tile floor, etc. very affordable and good location.
- Victoria (6/5): - Bedding , floors were clean. Drawers needed to be cleaned. Parking ok. Staff very helpful. Air conditioning very good.
One night was very good. The next night had some loud party people next door.
I usually stay here when i am in town visiting family.
- Musa (6/5): - parking easy/ room are old
- Brittani (2/5): - Had black mold in my bathroom and my bed u set on it and it was broken down realky bad couldnt sleep
- Jamison (8/5): - I reserved this hotel at a much lower rate than its competitors, so I came in with reasonable expectations. The check in was easy and the host was friendly. The room was pretty clean, although dated (but that was very much expected). I do want to make a point that other people review other hotels and mention bugs, pests, etc, but this hotel was completely free of anything like that, so kudos to Palms Garden. Everything worked and I felt safe in the hotel. It was very easy to get to from I-75 and met all of my expectations. Definitely was better than I had expected.
- Angela (6/5): - Our 2nd room was clean however the toilet seal was broken making for a wobbly potty experience.
The 1st room was dirty and very poorly planned out. It had lamps on each side of the bed but no plug close enough to plug in.
The lamp shade was filthy. The TV didn't not work. We requested to be moved.
- Francis (10/5): - Yes
- Jerry (6/5): - The check in was quick after I had to call the number in the window for assistance. Inside room #107 was not well kept. Broken items: hair dryer, wall door stop. TV cable consisted of 6 channels, toilet seat very loose. Front door lock as if it was pryed open before, bathroom door has to be forced to close. Wall paper peeling from wall. No plug where the microwave was located. No one was ever in the main office, you would gave to call and wait for someone to arrive.
- Mary Jean (4/5): - staff friendly. Setting felt isolated. No breakfast (Dunkin Donuts next door, however). Furnishings old, worn.
- Sergio A (10/5): -
- Amya (5/5): It was a good little vibe to get a night of privacy and some quiet time. - It was private and quiet The Air Conditioner would leak when it was on . The sink had a foul smell & the door needed to be bleached and cleaned .
- Kelly (10/5): - Dated but clean and friendly.
- Jerry (1/5): -
- Michelle (10/5): - Check in was easy, the gentleman at the front was very nice and greeted us with a smile. The room was nice. It’s located in a great place for an overnight or weekend if you just want to be away from everything. There was a couple of restaurants and a Dunkin’ Donuts and Wendy’s all within 30 seconds of driving or 1 minute walking. We were actually going to stay another night, but the weather turned nasty and there wasn’t going to be anything for us to do so we headed home instead. We would’ve totally stayed if the weather would’ve cooperated.
- Wilson (1/5): This has been a issue every time I come here there is never anyone in the office - Location I can’t get no one to come to the office to give me a key so I’m having to sleep in my car in the parking lot
- Ludwin (10/5): - Good
- Guillaume (8/5): -
- Jennie (10/5): It was nice - It was convenient and the customer service was great
- Evan (3/5): -
- Marci (2/5): - The room smell like mildew and mold, the carpet was gross!!! The bathroom light was falling out of the ceiling, the back of the complex where our room was looked like it was used in a horror movie! No water in the pool, not that we would have used it!! Sketchy people all around obviously living in the rooms, very dirty and smelly!!!
- Wilson (6/5): -
- Wilson (10/5): -
- Maryna (5/5): Passable -
- Roberts (7/5): Good -
- Karrie (4/5): - The office was locked and myself and another lady were waiting outside in the heat. I finally called a number posted and the guy came immediately. After a brief check in, I got my room key....only to realize someone else was already in the room! So thankful that they weren't in in the room at the time! (How does this happen? Someone pays cash and the desk clerk leaves it off the books?)
The black out curtains didn't block the light at all. The giant security lights guarding the parking lot came on through. I did not get a good nights sleep. It was a combination of the mattress and the light. Room #123.
I took a picture of the mirror. But I cannot figure out how to post it on this review. Housekeeping used a dirty cloth to clean it and it was easy to see.
- William (6/5): Decent priced, clean, safe place to stay - Parking vehicle in front of my room door for easy load-in/ load-out, cleanliness/ bug-free, location to attractions and to interstate, decent price, room had a nice size fridge. When shut, the door leading outside of my particular room had a sizable gap between bottom of door and the floor so I had to bunch-up and place a towel there to fill up that space for more privacy, keep the cool air in, and to prevent possible bugs from getting inside (I've been to this motel before and have NEVER seen bugs and this time was no exception). There were no ice machines.
- Tracie (2/5): Very poor - The location was fine. My television would not work. Tried to call front office & the phone in room did not work. But they did come & get the television working. But could not get phone to work. The room had holes in the walls, the comforter was clean & smelled clean, but it had stains all over it. Some of the electric plugs in the wall did not look safe. They had wires exposed & not fully screwed into the hole. There were vehicles in the parking lot that had been there so long they had con webs on them. They advertised they had a pool & they did indeed have a pool but there was no water in it. I'm ok with not going back to this place. Not impressed.
- Paula (7/5): Good -
- Ronald (2/5): Very disappointed. - Nothing really. Exterior Door in room was very dirty. Shower faucet looked like it was never cleaned. Room smelled of marijuana.
- Christine (1/5): Bad - They let us check on an hour early. The door had a gap (3-4 inches) in it. Made it impossible to cool the room at all. Florida heat pouring in. There is no lighting. The shower rod was rusted as well as the shower head. The bathroom floor was filthy. The bed was so outdated that you couldn't even sit on it without it making a ton of noise. They advertise a.pool but fail to mention that it had no water. It was so disappointing that we left immediately and went to a hotel in Lake City. Wasted 180 on a room that we weren't willing to stay in. The office was never open. We had to call a number to ha e stone come up there. Needless to say, when we decided to leave, no one would answer.
- Sandra (2/5): - The pictures are not what is there..place is terrible. Holes in blankets.filthy door and lock tampered with..burn holes on tub.roaches...
- L (4/5): a place to lay my head at night but you get what you pay for. - location close to springs moldy smelling room, dead roach under sink, used rag in shower, pool drained and empty. Front desk staff was great.
- Becca (8/5): - The night manager was out and about during the night working. Made a presence he was keeping a eye on things. He was very helpfull not just to us but other guest
- Cherise (1/5): ROACHES - NOTHING! ROACHES! RATS! This looks like an transitory place. The whole back of the property had people who looked indigent and there were broken appliances, garbage - it was terrible. I was asked for money and cigarettes three times within a 18 hour stay
- White (4/5): Bad business to lie to customers - Good location for my trip Was told there was a pool there was just wasn't any water in it ice machine wasn't working no parking in front of room same cars stayed in same place blocking parking the whole time we were there had to park across the street
- leslie (6/5): - For the price, it was good. AC was working hard and it appears that owner is trying to fix the place up some. Was clean and comfortable.
- Claudia (2/5): - Just old and dingy. Staff was nice.
- Odalmis (8/5): Muy buena. - Everything was very good, and the staff was excellent.
- Odalmis (7/5): Muy buena. - Everything was very good for its price.
- Danielle (8/5): - For the price it was great. Bed was comfortable. Service was good. TV did not work.
- Carol (4/5): - Staff was nice enough but facility lacked cleanliness.
- Datavia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Daniel (5/5): Passable - The room was spacious The mattress wasn’t comfortable, the shower/bathroom was small for the space, and the shower handle was broken, shower curtain had mold on it. Needs replaced
- Suwen (8/5): - In general, not bad. 13 mins to Ichetucknee Springs, 17 mins to Lake City shopping center.
- Jayne (7/5): Ok - Bed ead comfortable. Did have some grass for dog to do his business Air conditionet wuite loud and kept going on and off waking me up throughout night
- Barbara (5/5): Would choose another option where odor was not an issue - Location good for us. Room was dated but clean. Linens were very clean. Although rooms are nonsmoking, lingering odor in carpet and drapery/upholstery is still strong enough to add discomfort for odor sensitive people or those with respiratory issues. Staff is available by phone in the evening but the note that has this info is posted on a small window not on the lobby door, causing some confusion. Lingering smell of smoke in room
- Arianna (2/5): - Photos must be from 10years ago or something because our room was an absolute abomination. Molded bathroom walls, shower head covered in stone, there was a hole in the wall under the shower head where water was coming out! Toilet seat broken, cabinet door fell off, definitely wasn’t cleaned because I stepped into something sticky on the carpet, and I found a bottle cap on the floor right next to the chair… do not come to this filthy and stanky crack house. I can’t even call this an inn or motel. At least the front desk person was nice. Which you have to call every time because the office is always closed and nobody is there. Avoid this place at all costs. I wouldn’t stay here even if you’d pay me to.
- Deborah (8/5): Very good - We initially had trouble checking in when reception was unattended and no one answered the phone on the number shown on the reception window. While the room was basic, the bed was very comfortable and the room was super quiet so we had a great night's sleep. For the price, we were very happy.
- Debra (6/5): - The property manager was friendly and very helpful. The property was okay for the price but we did kill 1 cockroach in our room. Hopefully they get pest control out there before it becomes an issue.
- Gregg (10/5): - Nice property in a nice location. The owner is very nice and helpful.
- Kristina (10/5): Excellent - Clean quiet No pool
- Wesley (10/5): - Family owned and operated. Plenty if great lighting and brand new state of the art security cameras. 2 huge truckstops close by, Subway, Dunkin' etc Hotel currently undergoing remodel/refresh. Staff is super friendly and accommodating. Rates are great. I"ve stayed here several times and will continue to stay inbthe future. Also goid wifi and satellite tv with lot's of channels :-)
- William (4/5): - The reviews that i read about this place before booking must have been written by owners or management. It was dirty and very run down.
- Kim (6/5): - King suite with a kitchenette and had no dishware. Not one single cup, fork, paper towels, nothing. Dirty towel on bathroom door was left. Hair on the bathroom floor. No hairdryer. Was right next to a truck stop. Heard semi's running all night long.
Nice king bed had satellite. Overall okay stay.
- Stephen (7/5): nice will use again - overall very nice, very friendly nothing
- Kevin (10/5): - We stayed for 1 night on a long trip, and it was comfortable and dog friendly with a nice big area to run around with the dog. We would definitely stay again.
- Tabitha (6/5): - Property needs updated. Something in the room made my sinuses go off. No front staffing (arrived around 6:30 pm) had to call number and wait for someone to come get us check in.
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jeremy (10/5): It’s a good value - The hotel was clean and cozy, but it was a bit dated and the tv didn’t work, however it was a good value for the money.
- Chase (10/5): - Very clean. Had every thing we needed. Perfect for a short stay on my multi-day trip.
- Rick (10/5): Good Value; Clean but Dated - Dated property, but clean. Good value for the price. Wi fi worked well, and full DirecTV channel selection. No breakfast, but Duncan is next door.
- Kevin (8/5): - Room was clean and everything worked properly. King-size bed was comfy AF. Zero issues.
- Thomas (8/5): Very good -
- Faron (7/5): Perfect location to get to the Lake City raceway. Staff was very accommodating. Fair value. - Front desk was very accommodating considering they were fully booked. They worked out the best option for us at check in. The first room had really bad odors that was making the family sick. We went to the front office, they checked it out and switched our room.
- Cynthia (2/5): Horrible - This was so dirty we decided to leave minutes after going into our room! I highly recommend you never go here! Of course they still charged me even though I left! Pool empty cement pond, room walls dirty, blood stained mattress cover, garbage and construction materials everywhere outside. Awful!!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Needs work on repairs! - Had to call a phone number, to get them to open the office and register. Poor linen service. Broken desk drawers. Mold on bathroom walls. Noisy heater.
- Robert (7/5): Room was OK, off to bad start with two - Did not see it. Picked up fast food to go Issued three different rooms. First two were occupied.
- Rattenbury (7/5): Good -
- Verified traveler (6/5): Okay hotel - This is a roadside hotel that caters more to truck drivers. Lot’s of porn on the tv. The rooms were cleanish. Shower was functional but not very clean. We were just there to make a quick stop on our way to Orlando. It served it’s purpose for a place to sleep.
