Det fineste var dog personalet, der gjorde at man følte sig hjemme og lavede lækker sri lankansk mad. En af dagene, var jeg sågar med i køkkenet og fik en gennemgang af, hvordan man laver sri lankansk.
Deborah (10/5): Our favourite place to stay in the world - pure luxury in an idyllic spot! - This place is truly exceptional. It is set in a gorgeous location, with monkeys in the trees and a beautiful setting overlooking a lake. The house is gorgeously decorated, the rooms excellent sizes and the air conditioning perfect. The pool is also divine! What really makes this place though are the staff, who live in a house in the garden. They are all absolutely lovely and so welcoming. It's really like being part of a warm family. A delicious breakfast is included but we also chose to have lunch and dinner at the property most days as the food was amazing and such good value. The wonderful Indunil and his wife Rasika prepared the food. The house and gardens were spotless thanks to the wonderful housekeeper and gardener Varuni and Saman. Lasith, the villa manager, was also incredibly helpful and kind, finding my son some cricket training, organising transport into Colombo to watch the cricket world cup and advice on excellent local restaurants and surfing. He was brilliant. We were genuinely incredibly sad to leave this place and I know we will return. It is quite literally the best place we've ever stayed, and we have stayed in properties all over the world. We're now in a 5* hotel in Colombo as we wait for our plane, but we all miss the MO house so much!! Thank you so much for looking after us so wonderfully! Debs, James, Rosie and Harry xx Nothing!

James (9/5): Tranquil and spectacularly beautiful lakeside oasis - We will treasure very much the two days spent at this tranquil and spectacularly beautiful lakeside oasis. Waking to the down chorus from the wildlife, bathing in the most beautifl pool and feasting on such an incredibly flavour filled breakfast will remain an everlasting memory that we will savour again and again!

Mile (10/5): Paradise - We loved staying at Mo River House. Nice location and beautiful villa. Staying at 1 floor was little bit too hot, because of the roof. Even with AC on the air was not cool.
Ram (9/5): Beautiful location, Great place to have your holidays! - Breakfast was excellent and carefully prepared. Staff were friendly. Beautiful views of the lake. Nice place to chill with family, very close to the beach. Everything was good. Except for the people who are afraid of lizards and frogs. Since it is nature, we need to accept it with a smile.
Rowena (10/5): A unique and tranquil haven - Mo River House is a unique place and was just the perfect haven for our last few days in Sri Lanka. It is a gracious and beautifully appointed villa set in a cool tropical garden by the lake. Jay and the staff catered to our every need and at our request cooked us beautiful meals. The romantic candlelit dinner by the lake will always be a beautiful memory. The tranquillity lured us back from the hot and hectic coast everyday. A truly special place. It is not a criticism but just a warning that it is not a resort. More like rooms in a villa where the grounds and common places are shared and you have access to the kitchen. They do not have a bar or a restaurant but will cater for you on request with produce we purchased which was fun, and very economical.
Benjamin (10/5): A dreamy and private place. - Mo River House is nothing short of a paradise. Our stay was unforgettable. It's not really a hotel in the normal sense, it's a beautiful villa, with only 3 rooms and a 5-star service by the caretakers, who also can cook for you, whatever you want (you just need to provide the ingredients). It's located on a lagoon, with a large private swimming pool surrounded by lush vegetation. It's perfect for those who want a quiet place to read and relax. It's a 10 minutes walk from the beach.
Paul (10/5): Our favorite in Sri Lanka - Wow! The hospitality, kindness, beauty and service filled our hearts (and bellies) with so much happiness. The property is amazing itself - clean, large, private and right on the water. We stayed in the family room, which comfortably slept 3 adults (4 adults would certainly fit). Jay cooked us breakfast and dinner each day, which blew us away. It was served in the beautiful yard with a pool overlooking the water. We are so thankful we decided to stay here as it was the perfect start to our trip! I can’t recommend this property enough. Thank you for the memories, we can’t wait to return one day.
Connie (10/5): En skjult perle med hvilepuls! - Dette stedet er bare helt fantastisk! Selve villaen er vakkert innredet og alltid rent og ryddig. På utsiden er en vakker hage med mye dyreliv, og med en stor lagune rett ved. Villaen har båter som en kan låne gratis og padle på lagunen og oppover elvene. Servicen er upåklagelig, og Mr. Jay og Niel gjorde alt for at vi skulle ha et fint opphold. Mr. Jay serverte oss også fantastisk mat, og vi fikk våre beste rice&curry-opplevelser på stedet. Vi elsket dette stedet og håper vi får mulighet til å komme tilbake en dag!
Sara (10/5): Magiskt lugnt ställe nära Hikkaduwa - Magi, så vackert och lungt nära Hikkaduwa beach, och ändå mitt i lugnet. Blev bättre bortskämd än hemma hos mamma och blev serverad den mest otroliga mat, med en privat kock som lagade allt vi kunde önska oss. Båt fanns att låna för utflykter på floden och fyra nätter var inte tillräckligt! Poolområdet, maten, naturen, den vackra inredningen och otroliga servicen gör detta till det bästa hotell jag någonsin upplevt.

The location of the place was wonderful, a stylish, and elegant house next to the water. This place absolutely worth to stay here for a whole day, it feel like a museum. Highly recommended!
