- Robert (9/5): Very good place to stay in koyto - Good location, excellent staff Nothing
- Marley (9/5): -
- Francesca (8/5): Ryokan confortevole e comodo. - Lo staff davvero disponibile ed efficiente.
Esperienza in kimono davvero bella!!
Doccia enorme e comodissima.
- Russell (6/5): Uncomfortably Cramped Bedroom - The staff were very welcoming and cordial, making efforts to be of assistance. The property was located within walking distance of several attractions and a short cab ride from others. The kitchen staff promptly served us breakfast each day and put fresh ice in our water bottles. The room was barely larger than the bed, which made it very awkward to move around with our luggage on the floor. My wife and I had to coordinate our movements in the room in order for the other to reach the closet or the bathroom. Also, the general atmosphere around the property seemed more like a youth hostel than a mid-priced hotel.

- Mihaela (9/5): - Excellent location and facilities! Beautiful room and staff very helpful. We enjoyed being out on the roof top terrace every evening!
- Shing Fung Alvern (10/5): -
Andava tutto bene.
- Daniela (10/5): -
- Agripina (10/5): Worthy of stay and experience - Everything. Their ryokan feel vibe was very satisfying. The amenities, i hope they have soft bristle toothbrush
- Kelly-Anne (10/5): -
- Katharina (10/5): - A beautiful traditional room – we felt very much at home here! Good size, cosy lighting. Excellent location
- Donna (5/5): Clean rooms with good location, Unfortunately is was the noise each night that let this place down - Location noise level. We had to ask to move rooms, due to the owner living above our room, making loud noise at 1am every night waking us up.
- KALLIOPI (10/5): - We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this traditional ryokan. The staff were truly exceptional—attentive, kind, and made us feel welcome from the very first moment. The atmosphere was simply magical, offering an authentic and peaceful Japanese experience that we will never forget.
Our only regret is that we booked just one night—we would have loved to stay longer! Without a doubt, we would choose this place again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a genuine and memorable stay in Japan.

- FREDERIC (10/5): -
- SO YOON (9/5): -
- Nguyen (10/5): -
- Sara (10/5): Highly recommend starting here! Great experience!! - Clean, great location, fabulous staff, very cozy. Can’t think of anything.
- Darryn (9/5): -
- Jane (9/5): - The Staff were super friendly, the location to Gion was great, was a lovely traditional ryokan. Nothing
- Skylar (10/5): -
- MIN CHANG (8/5): -
- Neil (10/5): Will definitely stay here when visiting Kyoto soon. Have recommended this place to our friends who plan to visit this w - The staff were so nice and helpful and willing to listen. The room and facilities were very clean. Location is near the heart of Kyoto and very quiet and safe at night. None
- Nicola (9/5): -
- Christine (10/5): -
- Helene (8/5): Traditional Ryokan stay - Very traditional and felt very calm
Staff were very helpful and welcoming Felt a bit pricy.
Location wasn’t as central as thought so walked a lot more to get to places
- Diana Rosa (10/5): Excelente estancia !!!!!

- Crystal (9/5): - Loved the Japanese style room - the futon was comfortable
- Gorka (9/5): -
- Ashley (8/5): Modern, clean, convenient Ryokan - The room was very large and the staff were very friendly. The location was walkable to multiple points of interest in Kyoto. It provided a good atmosphere of a traditional ryokan but with modern amenities. Honestly, it was significantly more modern than I was expecting, and I was hoping for something more traditional as an experience. This modernness could be a pro for other travelers.
- Nicola (10/5): -
- Vicki (10/5): A great traditional Japanese stay. - This ryokan not only offers traditional Japanese style accommodation but also a range of cultural experiences which added to the stay. It is easy walking to Nikishi Markets and subway. We really enjoyed our stay.
- Alexander (10/5): -

Ottima esperienza!
- filippo (10/5): -
- Giovanni (10/5): So cool! - Was very well located, nice and clean, staff was very very helpfull and nice, they offer a lot of extra services like private onsen, kimono rental, nice Japanese breakfast and many more, definitively reccomended
- Lucja (10/5): Great location and traditional atmosphere. - Traditional Japanese hotel - very quiet although in the city center. The hotel charges for keeping the luggage after the checkout l.
- Kirsten (8/5): -
- Gabriela (10/5): It was what I was looking for! - The location. It’s walkable to most of the tourists attractions. 10-15 min walk to pontocho alley and Kamo River area.
- Susana (9/5): Tradicional. Comodo, bien ubicado. Gran experiencia - Todo Nada
Rien. Tout était parfait.
- Andrew (10/5): - The staff were amazing. Very friendly and helpful. The overall quality of the establishment was very good.. Great place to enjoy the serene atmosphere and gorgeous photo opportunities everywhere you looked. We stayed in a Japanese room and found it comfortable. Only downside was the bedding was a little short for a taller person (im 6'1", 184cm). The staff accommodated by supplying extra bedding.
- gioele (6/5): - Posizione perfetta, acqua sempre disponibile.
- Amala (6/5): Average - Location was good. Breakfast was average. But if one didnt book the night before one couldn't get the time slot. Or thereby breakfast
Room was not as nice as other Ryokans we had stayed in. No real space to
- Remco Eijssen (8/5): - We stayed here as a family of four with two young children. We booked the junior suite with a double bed and two futons. Check-in went very smoothly, with extremely helpful and friendly staff who also gave us great tips about the neighborhood, including restaurant recommendations. Breakfast was not included but could be booked a day in advance, with a choice between continental, Japanese, or American options. We tried it on the first morning and it was good, although with so many options nearby, we didn’t feel the need to repeat it. The breakfast area was spacious and the service was good.
Our room was on the second floor and easily accessible by both elevator and stairs. The beds were very comfortable, and there was enough space for our suitcases. The room was cleaned very neatly every day. We did have to make up the futons ourselves each evening, but that was quick and easy. The shower was very luxurious, and the room had fine air conditioning. There was limited closet space to properly unpack for multiple days, so we mostly lived out of our suitcases. There was, however, space for coats near the entrance. The street could be a bit noisy as it’s on a busier road, but the room could be well darkened, and we experienced very little disturbance overall.
- Sorel (7/5): Great location - Great Japanese breakfast, solid location, and nice spacious common areas. This is more a mashup of a hotel w elements of a hostel (common areas where travellers can hang out and share stories) than a ryokan. The only ryokan part of it is being in a tiny room sleeping on the floor. It looks like an investor bought the property and branded it as a “ryokan-style” place to jam in more chargeable rooms than typical hotels w beds would otherwise permit. If you want a ryokan experience, look elsewhere. If you’re ok sleeping on the floor in a solid location with decent amenities and a great Japanese breakfast, this fits the bill.
