• H. Bolz (9/5): Top - Die Aussicht ist traumhaft schön, das Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Lage ist top und die Ausstattung für einen mehrtägen Aufenthalt absolut ausreichend. Es nisten sogar Weißkopfseeadler in der Nachbarschaft, ein absolutes Highlight!
• Long (9/5): Fav - We had a lovely stay at above tide and wanted to stay in Campbell river longer than the 3nights we had booked, so many things to do. The room was simple, clean and comfortable with a balcony overlooking the water. Great value for the price. The best thing about the accommodation was the staff! Lena the receptionist/manager was professional, helpful and lovely. I had a bit of a crisis situation that Lena supported out with the help of Peter the handyman offered to help me and did help me. They didn't have to but they did. I will forever remember their kindness and generosity. Not enough space for luggage a common issue we have formed in Canada. The slippery mattress covers.

• Robert (8/5): One of our highlights of our tour and lovely staff. - From the road this place didn't look the best on arrival but the welcome and the amazing view from the balcony made up for all that. After walking our feet off in Campbell river I would say it was one of the best locations to watch wildlife on the river. To be honest the walls are a bit thin and the plumbing not brilliant but when you are watching so much wildlife in the river from our balcony we didn't care.

• Carol (5/5): Clean but I'd pay more and stay somewhere different next time - The tiny view was lovely, it's quite. Rooms were fairly clean. No power in the bathroom, lock was weird, it had duct tape on it. Dirt under the vanity in the bathroom. Bed was lumpy.

• Dagmar (6/5): Aussicht unschlagbar - Traumhafter Blick auf die Discovery Passage vom Balkon. Freundlicher Empfang Unterkunft etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Liegt an sehr befahrener Straße (aber bei geschlossener Tür ruhig im Zimmer).

• Laura (7/5): The fixtures are a bit shop worn, and hot water was great in the shower, but not in the sink. - The location was great, only a couple of blocks from the museum, and short driving distance to everything else Right beside the main highway, so a bit noisy during the day
• Mary (10/5): - Friendly staff, went above and beyond to help us achieve a quiet night's sleep after a terrible night at a different hotel due to the lack of help from the front desk addressing several noise complaints (multiple rooms compained) I would definitely book this hotel again knowing that I was able to change my booking short notice to accommodate my friend that canceled her booking at the other noisy hotel. The manager also said it was one of the quieter rooms and he tried to keep people respectful. That night sleep and afternoon nap helped me get 1st place in a important competition

• Ann (10/5): Perfect way to start our vacation to melt stress away - The woman at check in was exceedingly kind. Our flight got delayed, which then affected our ferry to the island. She was willing to alter our reservation to accommodate our sudden change in plans. She was also very kind and helpful during our stay. The view from the room and balcony was very beautiful and peaceful. I spent one morning just watching the hummingbirds and tide roll in. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again if in the area! It was great!

• Lesley (9/5): Perfect for a short stay - A short drive to CR Curling club. The room was comfortable and clean. While close to the road you did not hear any traffic and the ocean view was calming. A little outdated but an economical gem!
• ALAN (8/5): An ideal location for exploring Campbell River - This was the first time I had stayed in a motel and I was pleasantly surprised. The owner / manager was very helpful, especially when I made a mistake with my booking and provided an excellent service. The room came with ensuite bathroom / shower, fridge, microwave and storage facilities. The balcony view over the water was very relaxing after a day out exploring. A couple of thoughts on the room: i) Although there is a microwave in the room there were no utensils, so if a ready meal is purchased there is nothing to eat it with. ii) The lighting in the room is mainly little spotlights attached to various items e.g. bed, etc. Some additional fixed lighting would be advantageous.

• Ruth (10/5): Ein wunderschöner Platz zum geniessen und wenn man genügend Zeit und Geduld mitbringt, ideal zur Beobachtung von Wildtie - Ein wunderbarer Ort, direkt am Meer. Liegt zwar auch direkt neben einer Strasse, was man jedoch total ausblenden kann, da man direkten Blick aufs Meer hat, vom Bett aus, beim Essen, auf dem Balkon. Immer mal wieder fliegt ein Weisskopfseeadler vorbei oder man kann sie vom Balkon aus beobachten. Wenn man Glück hat, und das hatte ich, schwimmt auch mal ein Buckelwal vorbei! Nicht zuletzt ist die Lage gut, it dem Auto ist man in fünf Minuten im Zentrum und selbst mit dem ÖV ist er gut zu erreichen. Ein Ort zum runterfahren und geniessen!
• Chris D (8/5): Excellent motel style accommodation with friendly and helpful host - Really helpful and understanding host. We had heard it was possible to see black bears, and the host was happy to explain where in the area was a good place to see them catching salmon from the river. We had a comfortable room with sufficient beds for the four of us. Fridge and coffee maker. Would we recommend? Yes. Would we stay again? Definitely! Two double beds rather than one double and two twin, but we knew this would be the case, as as it seems to be usual across Canada at our budget end of the market we were happy to work with this.
• crh (9/5): - Bel emplacement pour ce motel donnant sur la mer et sur l'île Quadra, la chambre offre les équipements classiques (réfrigérateur, micro-ondes et machine à café) mais aussi un espace terrasse très agréable pour prendre le petit déjeuner ou même un repas. Très bien pour une étape en allant vers le nord de l'île de Vancouver.

• VIRGINIE JEROME (7/5): La vue sur la mer de l'établissement est très belle, personnel très accueillant et sympathique - la vue depuis la pièce de vie est très belle sur la mer, le parking juste devant la porte d'entrée de l'appartement est très pratique. l'etablissement est situé en bordure de route qui mène en quelqes minutes au centre de Campbell River une des chambres est située côté rue donc bruyante, le système de climatisation est très bruyant également. La table de la salle à manger est très petite pour 4 personnes et il est impossible de prendre ses repas à 4 sur le balcon. Le revêtement de sol plastifié marron est d'une propreté douteuse

• juliet (10/5): Wonderful. - I absolutely loved Campbell River and the Above Tide was a great place to stay. Paul on reception couldn't have been more helpful and checking in and out was simple and quick. The apartment was great with loads of room for the two of us. The views are stunning, and I loved watching the resident hummingbirds and bald eagle every morning and evening. The bed is big and comfortable, the kitchen well equipped (though a dishwasher would be a good addition) and the bathroom is roomy with a decent shower. The balcony was the highlight for me and I think we spent more time out on it than in the room. We saw an amazing moon rise and the stars were incredible. We only stayed two nights, but could easily have stayed for a week, and I will definitely stay again if I'm ever lucky enough to visit Campbell River in the future. The balcony could have been a little wider and I would have loved a slimline dishwasher in the kitchen, otherwise I wouldn't change a thing :)

The location is nice, you can walk to the centre in 15 minutes. You have a nice view, but we didn't see any whales unfortunately. It is basic, the furniture is used but not in a bad state. The bed and the room are a bit small.

• Sandra (10/5): - This is my 4th stay at this motel. I stay here every time I do the Grizzly Bear tour. It is a great place to stay, beautiful views, well appointed kitchen, comfortable beds. Staff are friendly and helpful. I will stay here again and dont hesitate to recommend it.
