Guest Reviews
- ANICHITOAEI (10/5): -
- Alan (10/5): Can’t wait to return. - Great welcome, ideal location, very comfortable and great breakfast.. Nothing to not like..
- Virginia (9/5): -
- Melinda (10/5): A really special place to stay, with outstanding food. - The evening meals were absolutely outstanding. The two of us had an evening meal for three evenings, eating different food selections every night, and every single meal was really special and delicious. Dawn is a fantastic cook, as well as a delightful and hardworking person. We felt warmly welcomed and really well looked after. Dawn also gave us some very helpful suggestions about local excursions we might enjoy. Some very minor points (completely overshadowed by the good things): Our room faced a road, and was single glazed so there was a certain amount of car noise. This wasn't too bad at night, but not ideal for us as we live in a really quiet rural area so we're not used to hearing any traffic. Secondly, the off road parking was quite tight (but our car is not small). Thirdly, the mattress was not the kind we like best - we accept that most other people probably would have liked it, but we prefer something a bit firmer that you do not sink into at all. I should make clear the mattress was in very good condition.. We still managed to sleep reasonably well, so neither the road nor the mattress would stop us returning.
- bettina (9/5): - Lage, Parkplatz, Frühstück
- Julie (7/5): Clean and comfortable spot for a short visit - Clean, comfortable bed, nice breakfast. Walking distance (20 minutes) to riverside. Host welcoming and allowed us into room early Room hot, steps up from the road not suitable for anybody who can't climb them and steps are unlit at night.
- Davenport (10/5): - N/a
- John (8/5): -
- seymour (10/5): Will look at coming back. - Dawn was a lovely host.....even had a Easter egg for us both, a lovely touch. Towels were excellent super big and super soft.
- Peter (7/5): - The room nice but a bit quaint. The food and service from Dawn were excellent Car parking difficult.
- Keith (9/5): -

- james (10/5): Overall a fabulous stay with excellent hosts, will be back - Dawn was an excellent host who can really cook, she cooked our dinner when we arrived and it was absolutely divine, breakfast was cooked fresh with excellent ingredients all locally sourced. Dawn and Dan were very friendly and made us feel very welcome, we had long chats and also got some good tips on where to go, the house itself was a little dated but this added to the charm and character with lots of nice touches. The room was large and the bathroom was also well big enough, the bed was comfy and excellent WIFI connection, would highly recommend. If I am being picky the stairs are steeper than the normal but that was not a problem for me.
- Paul (5/5): Not recommended - We both felt we were being watched constantly Supposed to beca deluxe room. But was very standard
- David (10/5): Excellent stay and delicious food - We had a truly lovely stay at Foundry Masters House in Ironbridge. Our room was spacious, extremely comfortable, spotlessly clean, and beautifully warm, with plenty of hot water, which is always appreciated after a long day out.
Danny and Dawn were such friendly, welcoming hosts and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Breakfast each morning was absolutely delicious, with great quality ingredients and generous portions.
We also booked dinner there on our second night, and it was outstanding, a fantastic starter, main, and pudding. Everything was cooked to perfection and full of flavour.
A wonderful place to stay, with excellent food and genuinely lovely hosts. We wouldn’t hesitate to return! Nothing not to like!
- Alastair (9/5): Fab guest house and lovely owners - Real tasty breakfast, Foundry Masters House is in a great location short walk into Ironbridge centre. Nothing
- David (10/5): Very comfortable place with lovely hosts - Lovely old building that has kept it’s charm. Lovely breakfast. And an evening meal that was superb.
- Danny (10/5): - All the food and the friendly staff
- Tim (7/5): Overal ok but some improvements in some areas need looking at. Perhaps some new staff would ease some of the stress. - Dawn was welcoming and accommodating with great cooking! Her son was friendly and the house was cosy and historic in a pretty area of natural beauty..Lots to se and do locally with the local museums and walking m.. Unfortunately Dawns husband was uncomfortable to be around and tried to put you on the back foot when communicating with him..He owned an aggressive malinois (large dog) which was kept on site. This created tension for us and other guests and was disturbing with barking and scratching early in the mornings. Also it wasn’t made clear that the bathroom heater was extremely hot and could burn if caution wasn’t taken when in the toilet.
- Diane (10/5): -
- Judi (8/5): We had a lovely stay, the hosts are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good. -
- Tessa (8/5): -
- Andrea (10/5): A beautiful house, great hosts in a gorgeous part of England. - The owners Dawn and Dan were very friendly. A beautiful house and room. Dawn cooked us our evening meal which was exceptional, there were lots of dishes on the menu to choose from. Breakfast was cereal, fresh fruit and a full English breakfast, the quality was excellent as well as Stokes brown sauce.
- Sue (10/5): - Dawn was exceptionally friendly and helpful.
The room was really comfortable and the food was excellent. We enjoyed sharing the table with other guests at mealtimes.
- Margaret (10/5): From start to finish Perfect - Everything was perfect.I was there for a family wedding very close to the B&B it was perfect I will be returning to Dawn’s to see Ironbridge and surrounding areas, Dawn was so helpful and knowledgeable.Thank you Dawn x Wish I could have stayed longer.
- Carolyn (9/5): -
- Catherine (4/5): Disappointing - The property is very old and daunting. The car park is very tiny, it’s not ideal for evening arrivals as the light is very dim and dangerous for walking up the stairs to the property. The host enjoyed taking an interest in my partner making him feel uncomfortable also when taken to our room the host made a comment saying her daughter won’t be happy if we use the shower. The rooms were very close together, there’s no privacy and the host stays downstairs too. After 20 mins we decided not to stay. ^^^^
- Sally-Ann (10/5): Cut above the rest in stylish surroundings with excellent food - A beautiful period house in an historic pretty country town. There is a terrace on the front of the house where you can sit for lunch and afternoon tea. The bedroom was decorated to a high standard with tasteful furnishings and bedding. The en suite was spacious and luxurious with a powerful shower and lots of hot water. I slept very well and enjoyed the superb individually prepared breakfast from the menu and fresh coffee. The dining room was elegant and the table set out beautifully.
Dawn is an excellent host. I will definitely return to stay with friends and book Dinner to enjoy the dining experience.
- Andrew (10/5): - Friendly welcome, comfortable bed and massive en suite.
The highlight though was the food!
Amazing restaurant quality food at pub prices, honestly they were some of the best breakfasts and meals I have eaten. Nothing.
- KJ (10/5): - Such a lovely welcome from Dawn to her beautiful home, our room was spotlessly clean, warm & comfortable.
The ensuite was huge with a super shower, fluffy towels & plenty of hot water.
Instructions for using the TV, WiFi etc were simple to follow, all written down in a handy folder.
Breakfast was served in the dinning room at a large communal table which was lovely encouraging you to chat to the other guests, the menu was quite extensive & everything was fresh & cooked to order by Dawn, served piping hot & with a smile 😊 The choices we made were delicious.
Dawn & her husband, Daniel, were the perfect hosts attentive without being intrusive, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend a visit to this charming property. Could do with a few lights edging the path up to the house
- Elaine (9/5): Lovely, friendly hosts and very welcoming stay. - Our hosts were extremely friendly and accommodating – the breakfast was excellent and we could have stayed for our evening meal which is an added bonus as the menu looked very inviting.
- melinda (10/5): - Very friendly hosts and fantastic food Nothing
- Burns (9/5): Loved it that the meals were served at one table for all guests by a host who made the effort. - If you want an authentic human guest house this is a good choice for you. If you want superficial perfection maybe not so much. Also the food was great. Some lights on the garden path maybe?
- Bremner (10/5): Great location, perfect hosts, very warm rooms.Bathrooms were forensically clean. - Location, food, wine and perfect hosts! Nothing.
- Andrew (9/5): Very enjoyable for me as a single traveller needing evening meal as well. Food was amazing. - Great location with off street parking. Host was lovely, nothing too much trouble, cooked an evening meal for just me & made me packed lunch each day. Would definitely stay there again. Food was amazing. Nothing, all good.
- Conradi (10/5): I really enjoyed my stay here and will book again. - I emailed in advance to advise of my dietary requirements. Response was inmediate that the chef was able to provide gluten free bread and sausages. Knowing that Foundry Masters House chef knew of my dietary requirements was a great comfort.
Room and ensuite were exceptionally clean and dinner and breakfast were delicious. I will be visiting Ironbridge again and tFoundry Masters House will be my first choice.
- Eleanor (9/5): Perfect - Lovely warm room and warm welcome excellent breakfast
- Gill (8/5): Very friendly and comfortable - Superb breakfast and a very pretty area, but close to good roads Bigger cups!
- Keri (10/5): -
- Stephen (9/5): Lovely property in a lovely area…cant wait to return - Lovely building, very welcoming property
Excellent breakfast Nothing
- Danielle (9/5): -
- Adrian (10/5): - Absolutely everything. The friendliest welcome, a stunning house both exterior and interior, the location...everything. We only stayed one night but have already decided to come back. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! 👍😁 Nothing....all fab.
- Bassett (10/5): Impressive - A beautiful house in a tranquil spot. The food is excellent. Nothing.
De over
- Jenny (10/5): Lovely stay, welcoming hosts. - This is in addition to previous review already sent. I forgot to mention the food which was exceptional.
Food was amazing. Good selection on the menu and nothing is too much trouble. You would be quite safe if you have allergies. For example sauce was changed for me. Nothing, all great.
- John (10/5): - Room comfortable with all amenities. Excellent breakfast with GF catered for. We did not try evening meal option but received great reviews from others.
- Vivienne (10/5): - Great cooked to order breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble.
Good parking for our motorcycle.
Loads of hot water for showers and washing. 😄
Small walk into town.
- Moritz Matthias (10/5): Tolle Lage in Coalbrookdale - Perfekte Lage, UNESCO in 15min zu Fuß erreichbar, Parkplatz, sauberes kleines Zimmer, großes Bad, super warme Dusche, hervorragendes Frühstück, nette Gastgeber
- Laura (10/5): - Great breakfast options to cater for all. The owners were very friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome. The property was spotless and well maintained. Would stay here again and recommend it.
- Robert (10/5): - Our accommodation was clean and as described. We like old properties with character and this property fitted the bill for us. It is well heated and has it's own car parking available (which though snug for 4 cars was quite adequate).
The owners are friendly and welcoming.
The breakfast is great, well cooked and good portions. Fresh fruit can be provided but you do need to advise the guest house prior to your visit so that it is fresh.
The owner also offer a selection of evening meals for guests who are staying. Although not a cheap option I have to say that the quality is outstanding and on par with eating out at a fine dining establishment. It is very good value and we ate there both nights of our visit.
The only point to note is that the church in the village chimes on the hour through the night and light sleepers may be bothered by it.
I can wholeheartedly recommend this wonderful guest house.
- Tim (9/5): -
- tim (10/5): Memorable-the family were perfect hosts and exceeded my expectations on every way. - The quality of the food on offer exceeded my expectations. The menu was very broad and the food was all locally sourced. The was very wide and had been well thought out it included many foods not provided elsewhere. I do not think the hosts could have done more to make my stay enjoyable.
- Bernadette (10/5): Comfortable accommodation in a peaceful location - Foundry Master's House is a small guest house in character with the area. It was exceptionally clean and comfortable and Dawn the host was very accommodating. We would definately stay again. Nothing - everything was excellent!
- David (10/5): Ideal location for exploring Ironbridge area. - Excellent food. Lovely home cooked locally sourced ingredients for dinner and breakfast.
- Andy (10/5): - Lovely property with very friendly owners.
Very clean and tidy rooms.
Lovely breakfast too.
- Paul (9/5): -
- Kellie (5/5): Overpromises, underdelivers. - Comfortable, large bed with lovely linen.Owner is friendly and chatty. Poor shower, no power, barely a trickle and no detachable handle. Toilet takes ages to refill after a flush. Dusty bedroom. Dead wasps, and other insects down the radiator. Carpet is finished/smelly. Kettle is tiny and made from plastic (toxic). No biscuits. Breakfast took ages to come and when it did, was very average. Half a slice of toast served with the avocado & poached eggs. Overall, not good value for money.
- Bramley (10/5): -
- Linda (10/5): - Room was clean, one site parking, breakfast was amazing, Dawn was lovely 😍 I can't say there was anything I didn't like, its great there
- Keith (8/5): -
- James (10/5): Fabulous place in a great location for us - Greeted upon arrival, lovely room as advertised.Fantastic location 20 min stroll to the iron bridge itself.Food amazing .Chef was fab and very accomodating.couldnt ask for more. Didn't want to leave at all if truth be told.
- Robert (9/5): - Dawn is super host and cook.. Very little.
- Pete (10/5): We felt welcomed, included and well looked after - Dawn and Dan were great hosts, very open, sharing and chatty. The bedroom had everything needed and the ensuite was huge. Breakfast choices extensive and good quality food, preparation and delivery. We felt very welcomed. Off road parking, only a 20 minute walk to the Ironbridge and local facilities Nothing to say.
- Keith (10/5): - Friendly host Nothing
- Louise (10/5): Perfect location, comfortable rooms and exceptional food. - Wide choice of breakfast menu, cooked to order. Delicious food, time of breakfast was flexible to fit in with us.
A bonus for this property was the opportunity to have an evening meal - the food was exceptional.
Dawn and Danny were great hosts -warm, welcoming and very friendly.
- Robert (9/5): - Really enjoyed our stay, the food and menu choices were excellent.
- DAVID (7/5): It was adequate for the 2 Nights we stopped there. - The Breakfast was very good.
The Hostess was very friendly, helpful and welcoming. The bed creaked a lot.
The step out the shower.
- Vivien (9/5): - The breakfast was great and the host lovely, and very knowledgeable about the area
- Simon (9/5): - Beautiful spot, and the room was spacious and well-presented.
Breakfast was outstanding, as was the dinner we had in the evening.
The Coalbrookdale museums were a gentle 10 minute walk away.
- Robert (10/5): Looking forward to the next time. - Excellent location for our purpose, great hosts and amazing food. Thank you. All good.
- Vanessa (9/5): Superb - Fabulous room and bathroom was gorgeous 😍 Great night's sleep and very friendly host.
- Rachelle (10/5): Lovely - Lovely place to stay. Excellent service. The host was lovely and informative about the area. Room was a little tired but very comfortable. Only niggle really was the pigeon problem (pooping all over the car) but that wasn’t her fault. Would stay again
- Leigh (6/5): Pleasant - Very professional host. Very well cooked food. Good location. The decor of the house is very tired and dated. The room was unbearably hot and duvets far too thick for this time of year so made sleep impossible.
- Joan (8/5): Very good -
- Elaine (7/5): Good -
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Great stay at the Foundry Masters House for a house hunting expedition. Hosts were so welcoming and gracious, even with an unexpected very late arrival. Fantastic cooked breakfast, very good meats from local area. Room was comfortable. Bed very supportive and lovely clean pressed sheets. Bathroom was spotless. Only very minor point was carpet was a little worn and stained. Overall, a really lovely experience and the most wonderful hosts.
- Margaretta (10/5): - If you’re looking for clean, comfortable accommodation in the Ironbridge area with friendly hosts and a fabulous breakfast, you need look no further than The Foundry Master’s House - with on site parking, too.
Well-placed for Ironbridge museum and a short (10 -15 mins) walk into town which offers pubs, restaurants and individual shops, and the Blists Hill Victorian village is only a short drive away - as is Ye Olde Robin Hood pub, serving tasty pub fare at very good prices. This was our second visit to Foundry Master’s and hopefully won’t be our last! Thank you, Dawn and Danny, and best wishes.
- Jim (10/5): We had a great time. Location was excellent and Dawn E - Breakfast was excellent.Dawn was very prompt and she looked after us and all her guests very well. Food was excellent.
Dining room beautiful. It was a little difficult to park as we needed to reverse in but we managed!
- Gill (9/5): Superb - Location ideal for all Ironbridge and Coalbrookdale. Warm welcome and great breakfasts.
- Paul (9/5): Charming place - Very nice people, comfortable room, nice bathroom, all good Nothing
- Jill (10/5): Very friendly and helpful hosts. - Very friendly hosts, character property, well placed for local attractions. Excellent breakfast options.
- Colin (10/5): Made our stay in Ironbridge memorable - We ate on both evenings and the food was excellent. Room was comfortable and quiet. Very close to all the Ironbridge attractions. We would go back again. Anyone with mobility problems might find the steps difficult to cope with.
- Andrew (9/5): VERY pleasant stay, and only a 15 minute amble into Ironbridge for an evening drink - Host was lovely... and the black pudding on the breakfast was superb The room we stayed in may have been a little small for some, but was absolutely value for money.
- Richard (10/5): Excellent stay, with a really nice welcome. - Period house felt like we were living in history. Nothing in particular stuck out.
- Marjorie (10/5): Comfortable stay in Victorian mansion. - We were welcomed by the family. We were helped to choose from an extensive menu for our evening meals. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of fresh fruit and a variety of cereals. The main course had
several tasty options including eggs Benedict and eggs
royale. Coffee came with hot milk as requested.
Our room was spacious with plenty of hangers and hanging space. Coffee, tea and chocolate were provided with a small kettle.
- Phillip (10/5): Another delightful stay and I will definitely be returning again. - Beautiful breakfast and wonderful location. Nothing.
- Helen (8/5): Pleasant Stay. - The room was clean and comfortable I wasn't keen on the set up of eating breakfast with other guests.
The TV was hard to work
- Helen (9/5): Superb - Vey warm, friendly and informative welcome from Dawn. Authentic decor in keeping with the property and the area. Lovely comfortable bed with soft pillows. Spacious shower room. Warm towels and plentiful toiletries. Shower pressure could have been a bit stronger.
Parking for a long car possible but tricky manoeuvre to get out on to road again. We easily found a space opposite in the entrance to the old Aga works.
- Gordon (9/5): welcoming and helpful hosts. Comfortable room. Iron bridge and coalbrookedale good to visit. - Good choice of breakfast, well cooked and well presented nothing
- Andrew (6/5): Lovely location, and lady owner, shame about the room and a shame about the male hoasting skills, very rude. - When we arrived the lady that greeted us was lovely and couldn’t do enough for us and her breakfast was lovely, then we met her husband, who fair enough isn’t well, but he was very rude and chauvinistic about my wife who parked our car perfect as he couldn’t believe she had done it, and then over breakfast really insulted us by saying where we ate the night before was basic and we deserved what we got because we didn’t eat at theirs, and said this in front of other guests.
Also our room which fair enough is classed as a small double was very small, you could just walk around the bed, and also the bed was comfortable but very noisy, and kept us awake every time we moved, so not great.
- Waller (9/5): Very enjoyable. - We stayed there two nights and found it very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent.
- Nigel (10/5): Perfect - Great hosts and food perfect - nothing was too much trouble Highly recommend
- Nigel (7/5): Good -
- Marie (8/5): Very good - a small room but a lovely en suite and great breakfast
- Kevin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Phillip (9/5): A pleasure to stay here. Would definitely consider returning on a social visit with my wife. - Dawn was a great host, very friendly. Lovely breakfast in a beautiful room with lots of character. Room was excellent with a great shower. The room was very hot during the night.
- Catherine (9/5): Excellent B&B with outstanding hosts. - Dawn and Daniel were extremely welcoming, and had thought of everything. The breakfast was first class, and the evening meal was restaurant standard. The lamb in particular was amazing, as was the apple pie. The location was perfect for me. I was travelling for work, and Dawn made everything really easy for me. I really enjoyed meeting other guests too.
I definitely hope to come again to spend more time at this excellent B&B in this beautiful and historically interesting area.
- Nick (10/5): Great break, great hosts, great stay. Thank you Dawn and Danny:) - Lovely welcome, clean tidy comfortable room. I loved the clock on the wall:) Dawn and Danny are lovely people and made us feel very Welcome. Excellent Food, both Breakfast and evening meals. NA
- Karl (10/5): Exceptional - Dawn and Dan where great hosts very friendly and had a good chat over breakfast. Room was great, lovely big shower good pressure. Comfy big bed. Very clean, great breakfast. The museums don't open on Monday and Tuesdays so had to cram in all the visiting on Wednesday as we stayed 3 nights. A 10 minute walk to the town. And a 20 minute walk back up hill knackered knees.
- Penny (10/5): Exceptional - Very friendly hosts, high-quality facilities, delicious food and great location....what's not to like! There is nothing amiss here, a definite thumbs up and a must stay when visiting Ironbridge!
