Guest Reviews
- joseph (10/5): - Exactly what I look for in a stay, affordable, clean, and welcoming. Onsite pool is crystal clear. Quick and easy check in. Perfect motel.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean, quiet, easy to find. It’s nothing fancy but a comfortable place to sleep on a road trip!
- Morley (6/5): - Price.
The AC was so noisy we had to shut it off to sleep. It got ery warm in the night & had to turn it on for about half an hour than turn it off again.
- Patricia (8/5): - The breakfast could have been more substantial.
- Carole (4/5): - The property was nice and clean. However I was overcharged even after I showed my booking conformation appt 30 dollars. I was supposed to pay 113.06 and instead had to pay 141.62. Was told to talk to owners wife at 8 am next day but we had to be on the road earlier than that so could not wait.
- Terry (10/5): - This is a clean, modest and basic motel. I found it just fine for a one night stay, all that I needed. There’s an interesting local restaurant about 5 km away in the village of St Wenceslas. Food, a good sleep and a quick shower, and I’m on my way.
- Shawna (8/5): - Nice quaint Motel. Will definitely stay again when traveling through Quebec
- Marie-Claude (10/5): - Clean room and was able to stay with my 55lbs dog
- Brian (8/5): - We found the place very comfortable for a stopover on our way home.
- Dongho (8/5): - 하루 숙박하기 적당한곳입니다.
- Jim and Margaret (10/5): - Great bed, pleasant staff, clean and tidy, good access off highway.
- Dorina (10/5): - This is not your ordinary motel. Nicely decorated, very clean, quiet, with friendly staff, and a nice coffee (continental breakfast) make it an excellent choice.
We enjoyed a lot our room and short stay.
- Lionnel Cedric (8/5): - Great!
- Carol (8/5): - This motel is right off hwy 20 which is so convenient after a long drive. It has an outdoor swimming pool for a refreshing dip on a hot day. The continental breakfast is good for a start of the day. The price is right and the staff is friendly.
- Gordon (6/5): Fine for short stop - Typical motel amenities. Good for a one night stay. Friendly staff, decent breakfast, close to highway. TV had only a few channels but wifi was good.
- Jenn (10/5): - Nice location, clean room, motel well maintained. Breakfast was good.
- Gabrielle (10/5): - The host is friendly and very accommodating and the bed was so comfortable.
- Ivon (4/5): - Sadly I can’t say I felt safe
Single mom with a child
They put us upstairs rather than in front of any apparent empty units we parked in front of… not many vehicles
Lots older men with motorcycles
Host needs to respect Expedia protocols
I would NOT have posted anything except she made me feel uncomfortable as I was trying to get back on the road
Expressly asking me if I had submitted a negative review … what IF it wasn’t me? Well I’m in a space tonight where host emailed and texted no contact room assignment and welcomed us…
- Les (10/5): Wonderful Location - Great, but only 1 channel TV...
- Joan (8/5): - It was clean and comfortable.
- Ron (8/5): road trip east - Over night stop on road trip east. Basic but what was needed
- Angeline (8/5): - comfortable
- Carol (8/5): - Close to highway for traveling but traffic was crazy fast. Breakfast was limited to bread, bagels, cereal. Convenient
- Lori (10/5): - Cute little motel very clean and well maintained. I would recommend checking out the art work as they also sell it I got a cute little set for a great price. I will definitely stay there again
- Roger (10/5): - Good value
- Paul (8/5): - Rooms were clean and comfortable. Only 1 english tv channel was not pleasant nor being allowed to bring limited breakfast to room.
- David (10/5): - Check in was smooth. Room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was self serve continental. The only complaint was that the cereal choice was limited.
- MELANIE (8/5): - Price was reasonable for this property. Room quite small, but comfy. Free breakfast was quite basic, but served its purpose. Grounds are well kept and woukd be lovely in the summertime.
- John (6/5): - Really old
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This motel has been wonderfully maintained and is very conveniently located and you can’t beet the price. The pool was refreshing after a long drive and the grounds are beautiful and include a frog pond with fountain and plenty of places to sit. The rooms are large and very clean and I always love a room with separate toilet and sink areas. The included continental breakfast was basic, but good and the room cost was very reasonable. I would definitely recommend staying here.
- Rosemary (8/5): Pleasant surprise - The room first assigned to us was not great but they soon changed rooms and we were quite happy. Clean, neat, and well organized. We were not sure what to expect. The price was good and the location worked well for on-off hwy. convenience. We would stay here again when traveling.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very clean. Easy to find just off the highway. Breakfast of cereals, toast/bagels, cream cheese, peanut butter, jam, coffee, tea, juice.
Bed was really hard. A/C unit, loudish. No ice or water available in kitchenette.
- Jewel (10/5): - I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and condition of the hotel. I had seen the previous ratings and was unsure of what to expect. But this was a very nice Motel and we would definitely stay here again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We chose this hotel as a place to sleep between days of driving on a long road trip. It did the job and it was in such a convenient location off the highway. It’s nothing fancy, and the bed was not all that comfortable, but it’s super convenient and reasonably priced!
- Bernie (8/5): - It was clean and the owners checked me in, very pleasant. The bed was comfortable. Priced well.
The “included” breakfast was disappointing, with just a few choices, toast or cereal. No fresh fruit (bananas, oranges or apples), no yogurt and no coffee (empty pots).
- Rob (6/5): - I was ok for the price. No ice machine, breakfast was minimal.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Decent - It's pretty old hotel and no options of restaurant around except subway. Everything else was fine. Best part was that it is close to highway so good for overnight stay if you are passing by.
- Kylr (8/5): - Clean rooms, good service
- Stella (10/5): Delightful one night stay - We just loved our one night stopover at the Marie Dan. The grounds were lovingly maintained with beautiful flowers, a small pond with waterfall, hand crafted outdoor rocker/gliders (I wanted one!), well kept lawns and outdoor sitting areas. The pool was sparkling, and had plenty of lounges surrounding it. The breakfast room was clean and charming and the continental breakfast options provided were all we needed. Our room was spacious, clean and well equipped. The motel was an easy on/off and very quiet as it was not directly on the highway. The proprietors were wonderfully friendly (I'm betting their names are Marie and Dan) and spoke both French and English. It was a delightful stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great over night location. Easy off/on to highway. Bed too hard.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Great if you need a cheap place near the Trans Canada highway.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - For the price, it was just fine. Lady at reception was very friendly. Wish there would have been more than 2 tv channels but other than that it was fine.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Place to stay - Enjoyed the place close to highway and halfway point in my trip
- Dave (6/5): - Stayed for a night on our way to Nova Scotia. Good for night stay and that's it. They advertise breakfast but it was very disappointing. Bread and cereal with milk, juice and coffee. The room was reasonably clean. Overall a nice motel to stay for a night.
The owners struggle to speak English but we managed somehow.
- Al (8/5): Close to the highway - Great little place, perfect for a stopover on a long trip, clean and comfortable. Easy on / off access to Highway 20 traveling either direction
- max (8/5): good little hotel - mostly no internet, unless you sit outside
- Peter (10/5): Very nice, clean, comfortable! - We had a wonderful experience at Motel Marie-Dan. :) Staff were extremely helpful & attentive. Room was excellent, comfortable, very clean, spacious. We will definitely use this motel again in the future.
- Victor Tovar (6/5): short stop over - as expected not a gem but functional
- Courtney (6/5): Simple and Convenient - Clean, spacious room with 2 double beds. Mattresses soft and likely older with 2 simple pillows per bed. Bathroom is very small but at least the sink and mirror is outside the room for convinence. Don't plan on watching tv as there were only 3 or 4 channels and all in French. There is a DVD player. The WiFi is very slow and would not work well for us unless I went to the parking lot. Also this is on an area where there is nothing around even our mobile network did not work well. The pool was very clean which our daughter was able to enjoy. All in all it served its purpose of a quick stop over on our way to NS. The continental breakfast was simple but again was convinence for a quick bit on the morning.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Practical - Clean, big enough room for 2, refrigerator available
