- Kurt (10/5): - Staff
- Steve (8/5): - It was fine, the usual
- Susan (10/5): - Bathroom … modern and clean. Staff very helpful.
- Darci (2/5): - The room was extremely damp and had a heavy cleaning scent. I sucked it up but will not book there again when we head to Canada for our yearly fishing trip.
- joe (10/5): - Nice
- Brad (6/5): - Overall the stay was good as we were just passing through town. Very quiet area and worked perfect for what we needed.
A few little things, there was still food in the fridge, the TV had no volume and the amount I was charged was more than what was on the website.
- Dan (8/5): - Beds are very firm. Nice area and quiet.
- Tonia (2/5): They rummage through your things when gone - Arrived at the hotel was a cleaning room smelled a little musty but it was fine left to go visit family put a do not disturb sign on my door came back found out people were in my room I belongings were went through and they're extra key was left on the table the lady accused me of smoking in the room when I did not smoke in there and she had seen me outside all morning smoking two cigarettes but I believe she was upset because I confronted her about somebody being in my room and she tried to make an excuse to justify them unlawfully entering my room
- Anne (10/5): - It seemed expensive for the area
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Very clean nice small motel.
- Robert (8/5): - The beds were very comfortable and the area is very quiet.
- Melanie (10/5): - Great stay! Clean room! Will stay again!
- Jerre (6/5): - We had to stand on th bed in order to adjust the temperature in the room.
- Scott (10/5): - Super nice staff with easy late check in option. Great place to crash for the night.
- Thomas (2/5): - Sheets were stained, room not very clean and half my room did not have power. I checked out 3 days early
- Bryan (6/5): - Convenient for the Mesabi trail.
Didn't like hauling our bikes up to the 2nd floor.
Stairway area smelled like Weed.
- Karen (8/5): - It is an older facility but updated. The room the clean and beds were comfortable. The location was very convenient to who I was visiting.
- Theresa (8/5): Best hotel stay in the last four months. - The building is older, but the room was comfortably spacious. Very clean, with newer paint and decorating. Loved the rain type shower head. There isn't carpeting, but that wasn't a negative for us.
- Nanette (8/5): Older and nicely remodeled hotel - It was a very nicely remodeled older hotel Although the bed was uncomfortable It was a very nice and friendly hotel
- Verified traveler (6/5): SMALL PROBLEMS - BEEN THERE BEFORE - ALWAYS GOOD. THIS VISIT HAD SOME PROBLEMS. TV WASN'T PAIRED - HAD TO GET HELP TO GET IT TO WORK PROPERLY. TV HAD A VERY SMALL SCREEN. SINK WAS PARTIALLY PLUGGED.
- Joy (4/5): Not a positive experience - Room was clean. A/C was very noisy and did not cool room adequately. The sink was difficult to turn off water completely. One bed was worn and difficult to get out of. The other problem was there were not adequate outlets. To use the coffee maker you had to unplug one the light the was over the area.
- RICHARD (6/5): - Our stay met expectations as we were only using this for a rest stop on a two day journey. Dated motel, amenities met expectations, clean bathroom, comfortable beds, decent basic breakfast. Only real complaint was dirty floors in both of our rooms. Met basic needs for our purposes and would consider staying there again.
- Steven (8/5): - I would have liked a little larger screen high definition TV with a few more cable channels
- Janis (4/5): - Our first room stunk, we asked for a different one. The second room was on a floor with construction and the room next door was getting new flooring at 9:00 PM. Couldn’t or wouldn’t stop pounding. We were finally moved at 9:30 PM to a suite. The suite floor was grimy.
- Steve (10/5): - Friendly staff! Newly remodeled room!
- merton (8/5): - Very good customer service from both the day and night shifts. The room was recently upgraded which was very nice. The room was clean. All the rooms in the hotel itself is undergoing an upgrade so construction is going on. All the rooms on the first and second floor are accessed from the outside stairs (no elevator).
- kathleen (10/5): - This was our second time here. Nothing fancy but a clean and quiet place to unwind and rest after a fun day! Great price!
- Marcel (10/5): - This is a classic motel recently redone with a "Room and Board" vibe. It was clean and comfortable and once everyone settled into their rooms quiet (I slept through the night). Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. I would stay here again. My only suggestion is more lighting on the far end of the room, but it seems limited by the number of outlets.
- roberttD8224XE (4/5): Could stay somewhere else with better people but price for rooms is ok - Front desk people are very rude, apparently presence isn't important being that the young women didn't wear under garments that wasn't fitting for a front desk representative. Cleaning people don't do there job at all, I think they come in vacuum one strip go through your things and leave , the manager seems like he's even surprised he has the position , because he's obviously never ran or managed Anything . Rooms were decent , mine was out dated but my buddy's was remodeled so there trying .
- Michael (10/5): - Great
- Loretta (8/5): - very neat and quite. They need to put a big mat coming into the room in the winter, The wood floor got all wet from the snow outside.
- Harold (10/5): - Easy-to-use
- Laura (6/5): - There were a lot of transient people staying there. All friendly but they were partners
- Arul (6/5): - Dated but clean rooms.
- Scott (6/5): - Room was clean that’s the Main thing.
- Rosa (8/5): - Friendly and helpful staff. Good place to sleep and go
- Angela (10/5): - This was such a nice place to stay at. The room had everything one would need, it was clean, quiet, felt safe. The toilet is a little low but that's minor given that everything else was great.
- joan (6/5): - bed was terrible . slept in chair. toilet is a child’s toilet so low!!!! and no grab bars if needed. but the place was very clean. and no i would not stay here again. had no idea where breakfast would be served or what time . ? where ice was? so would say serve was not good. i had to leave by 5:30
- Edward (8/5): - Convenient, safe, friendly staff
- Glendon (10/5): - Great place to stay, close to dining, shopping and easy parking in the nice big parking lot.
- Shashank (6/5): - The office itself was smelling heavily of cigarette smoke.
- Micah (8/5): - The room was nice and mostly clean but could have been cleaner. The bed was rock hard but for the price of the room compared to hotels/motels around the area we were happy.
- Q1054HMrk (4/5): Not really it - Not quite what the positive reviews would lead you to believe. Yes, the rooms have been modernized if you like that gray/black/white look. But the "king" mattress on my bed felt more like a six-inch foam pad and it had a crinkly plastic sheet underneath the fitted sheet. Not comfortable. There was an opened used soap and wrapper still in the shower. Someone was running around in the room above me and it was loud. The floors weren't the cleanest and the room smelled pretty stale (and the office STANK). I would expect that quality of environment for maybe $80 a night yet after the exchange rate I paid $150 CAD.
The appearance outside/location is pretty sketch as well. Felt a bit Breaking Bad to be honest. I wouldn't have wanted to have kids with me.
- mia (10/5): - Classic old motel with very comfortable rooms. Check in swift and loved talking to owner in the morning. Coffee excellent.
- Julie (6/5): - People who where obviously living in units where walking back and forth, kids running constantly back and forth on balcony hallway. Fudge in unit was dirty. Staff was friendly. The Decent for price
- Beverly (4/5): - Our previous stays had been ok but this time our room wasn’t clean. You could plainly see the tub/shower hadn't been cleaned. Bathroom mirror was dirty and the carpets are filthy. I got shocked using the gfi plug by bathroom sink. Not a big enough refrigerator. And not enough outlets and no charging stations. Also some people had a party outside and it was loud kids running around making noise.some garbage was dropped outside our door. The manager allowed this to go on he was out there too. We will never stay there again or recommend it to anyone.
- Moss (4/5): - not happy with this place did not stay here
- Andrea (10/5): - The owners have done an excellent job in maintaining this facility and providing excellent service. It was a lovely home. We had the upstairs suite which had plenty of room and private bathroom. We never heard anyone else in the facility while we were there and the owner let us use her freezer to store our recently purchased frozen huckleberries. The breakfast was delicious with a choice of juices and coffee/tea etc. She prepared french toast, bacon and fresh fruit with just a little bit of whip cream. She spent a lot of time chatting with us about her family and the area. The only negative and it certainly is no ones fault is that it has very limited dining options in the area. It is very small quiet family oriented town. We drove 15 miles to get to the nearest restaurant the SideTrack for dinner.
- Steven (6/5): - The carpet was not pleasant and needs replacing. The staff was great. But for tye money, I will go elsewhere
- Perry (10/5): - The staff was extremely friendly and helpful! Thank you for storing my ice blocks in your freezer during my stay. Also, the small breakfast/coffee bar was surprisingly well equipped with a good variety of take-out items. Thank you for that.
The only improvement I could suggest would be to clean the floors in the room. There was a lot of dust and debris under my bed as if the floor hadn't been cleaned in some time. Thank you!
- Christopher (10/5): - Good value for one night got a good nights sleep at 1/2 the price of Duluth
- David (10/5): Beautiful and comfortable room! - The room was very tastefully redecorated and spacious. The outer facade of the motel is old and one wouldn't expect to walk into a beautifully redone room, so we were very pleasantly surprised! Had a very pleasant stay.
- Eric (10/5): - Exactly what we hoped for in a reasonably priced room in a rural city. This is not a fancy establishment but was perfect for our stay. Our room was on the small side but up-to-date, clean, quiet and comfortable. The property is well cared for and situated conveniently near town, though a bit further than an easy walk. The owners / staff were friendly and helpful. We will stay here again next time we are in town.
- Mary Beth (10/5): Comfortable, clean quiet room!! - We were able to check in early, which really helped us. The room was clean and comfortable and was very quiet which led to a good sleep. The grab and go breakfast was more than adequate. I would stay again
- Karen (10/5): - Friendly staff; accommodations met all our needs.
- Reid (10/5): - This was a very nice establishment. The rooms were very nice. All updated and clean.pretty quiet area. Would stay here again
- Jerry (8/5): - Everything was great! Very clean motel. One small detail was our bed was not the most comfortable. But we have stayed here quite a few times and some of the other beds in other rooms were comfortable just not this particular one.
- Eric (10/5): - Rooms very clean and modern
- Lynda (8/5): - Very tired old motel. Bed comfortable.
- Christine (8/5): - This property is very basic, no frills, but very clean and well maintained. Don’t expect hairdryer, extra blankets or pillows, ice machine, etc
- Trail48607486685 (10/5): A Pleasant Surprise - Room was much nicer than we had expected, included full sized refrigerator and stove, microwave and big television , and exceptionally
clean. Staff was very friendly and nice to work with. A little out of the way, but not enough to be a problem. We’ll be back!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice and comfortable
- Kris (10/5): - The check in girl was cute! It was suprizingly quiet for a full house.
- Mitchel (10/5): Thank you! - Neat room, nice quiet, clean bathroom. But recliner chair is need to wash.
- Carl (10/5): - Very nice people; great value; clean
- Mark (4/5): Not cheap enough hotel - We were woke up early on our second morning there by workers even when they found out they were disturbing us they kept on . They were rude and had other spots to work not disturbing anyone
- Ava (10/5): - The rooms were newly remodelled and they were very clean. Staff were also friendly.
- Tyler (10/5): - We love the free breakfast.
We loved the room. Very clean and spacious.
- Erik (10/5): - Enjoyed my stay. Staff is friendly and helpful. During my stay I was able to relax and just enjoy my time.
- SARAH (10/5): - I wasn’t sure what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised! The outside may need a little work but the room was up to date, modern, clean and cozy. I’d definitely stay here again. It’s a perfect place to stay while up north for winter sports. There is a town 1.8 miles away, with Target, fast food and nicer restaurants.
- 115Pete_F (8/5): Very nice basic motel for a reasonable price. - The room we were in was recently renovated. The room was very clean and fresh. Construction is cinder block walls which makes for very quiet rooms with an unfinished basement look. There was a continuous water type sound that may have been from the steam heat? Beds were comfortable. There is a sauna that has a shower actually in the sauna. The water temperature in our room shower didn’t get very hot. Breakfast is mainly wrapped items such as rolls, donuts and muffins. There was also yogurt, oranges and juice.
- David (10/5): - friendly staff and good price
- Z4826WQpatrickw (10/5): Late night check-in…. - Pine View Inn in Virginia, MN is a small hotel, but the ownership has obviously put their heart and soul into this business. The newly remodeled room that I stayed in was clean, tidy, and cozy. This hotel is a diamond in the rough and they gave me a room just as they were shutting down for the night. The front desk staff was pleasant and made me feel at home. Thank you!!
- Pamela (10/5): - Very clean and cozy. Staff were friendly upon check in and I would definitely come back.
- Dale (10/5): - Dates, but very clean and well maintained! Great value!
- Paul (10/5): - Excellent, quiet, safe, ample parking, convenience, nearby shops and amenities, the staff was friendly, professional and helpful, I called ahead and arrived past office hours, I had asked if any stores would be open in the area. The woman behind the counter left my key in an envelope for me with a note listing all of the stores in the area that were open with phone numbers! I definitely will stay here in the future, the price was the best in the area as well!
- Paul (10/5): - Great place, quiet, safe, staff was friendly, professional and the room was exceptionally clean everything I was looking for and the best price will definitely stay here in the future!
- jason W. (8/5): - The room was newly renovated and had a nice little kitchenette
- William (10/5): - Nice and clean facility
- Micah (8/5): Not for couples or families. - This would have been an excellent stay for work or solo but as a couple, there is little soundproofing and the gentleman next to us, we could hear him and the TV as if we were in the room. Moreover, our bed and pillows were very comfortable but the bed was very noisy when you move around, so this being our anniversary trip, it caused us to skip the primary activity we had hoped to complete.
The room was very, very, clean and smelled neutral, the staff was friendly and informative, the room was very bright with the lights all the way up, and the shades gave us privacy despite in being rather busy on this Saturday.
All the little things were ticked like extra shampoo for a stay of two, the coffee maker ready to go with extra coffee and cups, and lots of towels.
- Scott (10/5): FALL COLORS - We had a great time in Virgina Mn. Pine View Inn was are go to motel! we had a room that was redone- very nice room :} we will be back.
- JAMES (8/5): - Nice property! Location not Great!!
- Janel (10/5): Looks can be deceiving - We were able to check in early and were pleasantly surprised with the room.
- Karen (8/5): - Room was spacious and very clean. Lack of shampoo & hair dryer was problematic. Did not expect that in a motel. One of the beds was great; the other squeaked loudly with any movement. Full size refrigerator. No issues with check-in and check-out. Would recommend - with knowing the lack of some amenities ahead of time.
- Mike (8/5): - This is a small, no-frills operation, but it is clean and comfortable at a great price. My room had a large TV, small table and two chairs, microwave and mini-fridge. The bathroom/shower looked like it had recently been remodeled. Set at a distance from the main highway, it was quiet for a restful night. The only glitch was that the shower faucet had the hot/cold settings reversed from most other fixtures. It took a while to realize that hot was to the right and cold was to the left! A minor issue, I would gladly stay here again when I'm in the area.
- Gwen (10/5): - Property seems relatively recently remodeled. Very clean, easy parking, nice rooms for the price. Impressed. Checking in was perfect with a friendly staff person.
- Debra (10/5): - We would stay there again.
- Gary (10/5): - Very friendly staff, clean room
- Patti (10/5): - Was a great experience, 3 day stay.
Would stay again, great value!!!
- Gerald (8/5): - The water pressure in the shower was next to nil.
- Susan (4/5): My Trip Down Memory Lane was disappointing - I stayed here about 15 years ago for a dog trial. Many of us did and the place was always full. Saturday night I was the only one from the dog trial. There were some families that did check in that obviously had been fishing. The bathroom floor needs a deep clean, the carpet looked clean but felt stiff. The linens were clean which is the main thing. But there was an underlying smell I could not identify, and I woke up with my allergies in full bloom and congested. The girl at the front desk who checked me in was nice.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Surprise inside - We drove up and said" OK not many choices, it'll have to do". But, when we got to the room, it was very recently upgraded. Great job! Excellent condition. This is a casual, comfortable motel. I rated it high for that category.
- Valerie (6/5): Planning on using the sauna? Ask details - Just stayed one night. Room was very clean. Bed was not that comfortable. But it can be for other.
Listing mentioned a sauna. When I asked about it I was told they have a sauna in the basement, they needed 30 minutes notice to turn it on and they would give me the key for it.
I was hoping to do a sauna later that night but since depending on office stuff availability, the time to plan ahead to get it ready, and the location, I did not feel comfortable doing it.
- Larry (10/5): - The hotel is an excellent value and very convenient.
- Kenneth (8/5): - Olr property but clean and quiet
- christopher (8/5): - This place is actually very nice for the money. The maid service each day is great. Fresh towels and clean room. The place itself is old but the beds are ok and the water is hot. If on a budget I’d stay here again for sure. I did not have any issues with it personally.
