Guest Reviews
- Clara (2/5): - There was a party downstairs where people were screaming like crazy until quite late… after that finished and we thought we could finally sleep, there was a group of teenagers who went into the swimming pool at midnight, who were also super loud. I couldn’t sleep until around 1am. If I had known there were no rules about noise, I would have stayed elsewhere.
Breakfast was ok, location is really comfortable.
- NAVALUCKSAN (4/5): - Good location, beautiful area. Hostel can use some cleaning and repairs, especially the bathrooms. Friendly staff.
- Tina (8/5): - Overall a great bargain! The property is located along the oasis. The accommodations are basic, but all we needed since we were out and about all day and just needed a place to sleep and shower. The bed was suffice, hot water, towels, a nice fan to cool off at night (very thankful we had it, and it worked well). Breakfast was just the right amount (scrambled eggs, rolls, blended fruit drink and hot water for coffee or tea). We would definitely stay here again and will recommend to all our family and friends in the future.
- patrik (8/5): - Great staff, nice ubication
- Miroslaw (8/5): Cozy hostel - Nice place in the middle of the oasis. Simply hostel but served the purpose.
- Medel (8/5): - Easy to find, situated in a tourist spot. Didn’t have to go far. Staff are friendly. Free luggage storage.
- Priten (8/5): Value for money, decent stay - Hotels good enough for the location youre in. Very noisy outside and our room was onto street side so not ideal. Felt safe enough however, rooms were to an expected standard for a backpacker. Free breakfast is just bread and an egg.
- Matthew (8/5): - A nice room with basic amenities. We didn’t have one to use the pool but wished we could’ve used it. Breakfast is freshly made scrambled egg, bread, coffee & juice. Conveniently located.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - This place was nice to stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice stay - It was a very small room but had a nice clean pool. It was clean and friendly. Overall s nice stay
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The room is basic, not very clean. The mosquito net has holes. The mattress is sagging. The staff doesn't speak much English but is helpful. Another complaint is that there is noisy music nearby that goes late into the night. It's not this hotel's fault, but adds to an uncomfortable stay nonetheless.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - For sure we recommend this place. Everything were very nice we had a great time there
- Verified traveler (8/5): - There was a slight problem with water in the morning, but they told us they were fixing it and let us check out late (free of charge) for the inconvenience. They were very communicative. The breakfast was good as well, bread, banana, eggs.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I will considered it really good for the price paid. Nothing to really complain about.
- Nico (8/5): - This hostal has a great location. The rooms are simple but they where clean.
- Adriana (10/5): Recommend - The staff was really nice and accommodating. There was an error with the payment but they quickly resolved it. The area was quiet and the room was clean. The free breakfast was perfect. I would recommend.
- Steven (8/5): Nice stay - I was very comfortable staying in this hostel and would recommend it.
- Verified traveler (6/5): El Boulevard - Good bed, great location, nice staff. Bad pillows, small space for bags, pool not really clean. Overall good if location and price are all you care about.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Ok hotel with an amazing staff - We have been traveling with Peru Hop and stayed here one night. The staff was great: super friendly, helpful, and definitely went above & beyond to accommodate me and my 7 year old son who had gotten sick from lunch on the way there. The rooms were overpriced for what we got, and I was disappointed at first, but after spending the day in huacachina I feel like they’re all probably the same, unless you pay more. We paid $30-ish for the night, which seems exorbitant considering what that will get you elsewhere, but it’s a little party tourist town so prices were just higher. The sandboarding was definitely worth it (we didn’t go through the hotel because it came with our bus trip, but they do offer it). I opted for this place over the others because of the “indoor jacuzzi pool” because it’s not that warm right now during the day and we were arriving late, but it’s not actually indoors (it’s in a little courtyard area) and I wouldn’t let my son swim in it. So if pool is important to you, this is not your place. But knowing what I know now, I’d still stay there and save the extra $20 for things like overpriced boat rentals on the lake and sandboarding/dune buggy trips. The staff definitely made up for the less than amazing rooms. But they do have hot showers, bug nets that we didn’t need, and direct tv (en español), if that matters to you. It’s right on the lake, and it looks like they’re adding a 3rd floor, so maybe the new rooms will be a little nicer. Basic breakfast included.
- Aaron (8/5): Good hostal - Overall a good stay, there was some construction work happening at the hostal during the day, but was offered a free drink each as guests during the works. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Hostal located on quieter side of the oasis. Local area good.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great hostel! Across the lake from the part hostels, but its only a 2 minute walk to them. The music from next door is loud but not intrusive. Best hostel breakfast ive had so far.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Property could use some TLC. Staff was great and helpful, even with a language barrier
- Neil (10/5): Nice stay - Nice, comfortable place to stay. Great breakfast and rooms were cleaned daily which was nice because of all the sand! The pool is small but fine for chilling out for a while. The place would benefit from a bit of a general face-lift but apart from that would definitely recommend staying here.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Just a basic hostel to sleep in for a decent price, but if you are looking for 2 star or above by western standards, look elsewhere.
- Pedro (10/5): - The hotel is right against the water and has an amazing view. The staff was super friendly and accommodating with us, even got us breakfast and a buggy tour early in the morning. The rooms were clean and comfortable and had a good: WiFi signal and hot water in the shower which is key in the morning/late night as it gets very cold.
- Jonathan (10/5): Good - Shower is not hot... but has a good debit.
Wifi is
It was nice that we could have an early breakfast.
There is a laundryline should you have some wet clothes.
Staff is nice and can help you book sandbuggy or other trips.
- Stephanie (8/5): Comfortable and cozy - We booked a private double room and were pleased with the comfort and size. The shower drain didn’t really do it’s job, but it’s portably due to the excessive amount of sand people drag in from the desert. We were woken up around 2300 hours by a group of people partying in the common area, which is to be expected as most of the accommodation in Huacachina are hostels. Staff were friendly and check in was a breeze.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I only spent one night here. The hosts and staff were nice. Good for younger people. It was noisy in the evening but after 8-9pm it became quiet. Generous breakfast consisting of three rolls of bread, a banana, and scrambled egg for one person. I was asked to use warm water in the shower for maximum 14 minutes but only cold water came out from the tap when I used the shower.
- Jules (6/5): Loud, Smelly Bathroom, Comfortable Bed - This hostel had a nice small pool in the common area. The staff played loud music and seemed like they wanted to create a party atmosphere but there were a couple families with kids that requested they turn the music off, so they did. The bed was comfortable but the bathroom smelled like it hadn't been thoroughly cleaned in a while. Walls are thin. At check in they denied that Orbitz paid them and made me pay again, but then later refunded the second payment.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great for a few nights - We stayed for two nights and everything was fine except I couldn't get hot water in the shower. The room was a good size, bed was comfy and everything was clean. Wifi was good and the staff were friendly. We booked the dune buggy and sandboarding tour through the hostel and it was great!
- Eline (8/5): Well above expectations for Huacachina - We were pleasantly surprised to be able to check in very early (9AM) when we arrived with the night bus, thanks! Our 2persons room was clean, bed was good, a powerful fan was provided. Downsides: curtains didn't block the light and it was easy for mosquitos to enter the room.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Basic hostel, good for the price. - The hostel was pretty basic. Rooms were spacious enough and the breakfast very simple (they ask you to choose if you would like an egg or jam and butter with 3 pieces of bread) with coffee/tea and juice. What I didn't like was I got bitten by bugs while sleeping during my stay. They made me move beds, though, so it was ok during my second night. They belatedly asked me to use the screens on the bed to avoid more insect bites... Overall, it was good for the price and location!
- Michele (6/5): Not value for money - The staff were fantastic! BUT ...Considering the price it wasn't worth paying so much, as the rooms had no views of the oasis, and were set back from the front of the property.
Ini matter how hot I wouldn't go near the pool.
- Timothy (10/5): Excellent Value Budget Choice - This is a great value budget choice situated right by the oasis. Rooms are a good size with hot water and comfy beds. The free breakfast consisted of the usual bread, jam and butter but eggs and fruit were also included.
The wifi was reasonable and the evening meals were a good price at 15soles for a large meal.
The hostel also runs excellent dune buggy and sand surfing tours for 40soles including the sand tax fee.
Overall for the price of the hostel I do not think it can be beat and if I return to Huacachina I would definitely stay there again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Right in the oasis - This place is nice to stay for a night in the Oasis. The room was simple, bed was comfortable. There was hot water in the shower.
- Scott-Ryan (2/5): Very basic accommodation in Huacachina - Hmmm...not so much a hotel or hostel as a building with rooms in it. I think I was the only one staying there and there was not much going on. There aren't a lot of options in Huacachina but you can do better than this one. You get what you pay for here.
