• Kalan (9/5): - We spent three wonderful nights at Yutorelo Nikko, and it exceeded every expectation. The hotel offered a delicious breakfast and dinner each day, with lovely amenities throughout and impeccably clean surroundings. Our room was beautifully appointed with everything we needed, and any additional requests were handled graciously by the staff. The entire team were friendly and professional — with particular praise for the restaurant staff, most notably Saurav and Dāyan, whose warmth and care made every meal a memorable occasion. The food itself was simply fabulous, full of flavour, drawing on a wonderful mix of cuisines. Each morning and evening we found ourselves looking forward to sitting down at the table. The location is wonderfully central with buses passing through and a handful of charming shops nearby. And the view of the lake is breathtaking. We would recommend Yutorelo Nikko wholeheartedly. Thank you to every member of the team who made this stay so special.

• Kathrin (4/5): Nice view and great onsen - Great view and perfect location to explore Nikkō. Bus stop right outside the hotel and a free shuttle service to both Nikkō train stations. Great onsen. Hardworking staff who gave their best. We booked a Japanese-style room with tatami mats and futons. However, we got Western-style beds. We asked to change, but they said it was not possible. Furthermore, the library, ping pong area and lounge with hammocks was shut without any mention beforehand. The manager was nowhere to be seen. Food is ok for 2 nights max, as it’s almost the same every day and was nothing like shown on the pictures.

• Eleonoradicasola (9/5): - We stayed in the hostel, however they provided us with towels and onsen clothing and we had free access to the facilities of the hotel and breakfast included (which was very nice). The sleeping area is big and comfortable plus you have a box you can close to store your valuable personal belongings (they provide locke). You can store your luggage at the entrance even before check in and after check out. Everything was ok. Just a recommendation to bring sufficient cash (in the surrounding only cash is accepted) because in the proximity of the hostel there is only one ATM and it is closed on Sunday.

• petersen (10/5): Jeg havde et meget dejligt og afslappende ophold på Yutorelo Onsen og kommer gerne tilbage - Morgenmad såvel som aftensmad oversteg mine forventninger, det var altsammen meget delikat, omend ikke varieret. Alle ansatte jeg mødte var meget venlige, hjælpsomme og kompetente. Onsen var en dejlig oplevelse, indendørs såvel som udendørs, og bagefter var det behageligt at sidde i fællesrummet ved onsen og nyde kolde og varme drikke uden beregning. Måske kunne menuen have været lidt mere varieret, men under alle omstændigheder smagte den dejligt.
• Olga (10/5): One night relaxation in the mountains - This was a great place to stay and I wish we had booked more than 1 night here. Onsen (public bath) is with sulfur water. Great for skin with allergies and relaxation, though it's a bit weird at the first time due to the color and smell. 10/10 recommend to try. The room we had was with futons and surprisingly it's easy to prepare them and then comfortable sleep. The view is amazing, though windows are not opening and net a bit messing with the good photos. Dinner and breakfast are great, we were told the breakfast from 7:30 though when we came at 7:20 there were already people eating and we got served earlier too. Not a hotel, but not far away from it there is a place open till 5:40 pm with exceptionally good crepes and fresh matcha bottles - very local and nice elderly men there 💗 Generally the lake, mountain and views are superb, so I'd recommend visiting it for a couple days at least. Tricky to get there without a car - tobu bus is delayed and rare (like every 30-60 mins depending on the time of the day), however we got back to the Tobu-Nikko station without delay at all - might have taken later bus and enjoy onsen more. Meat dishes were a bit disappointing for my taste, however sashimi were exceptionally great! Not for the hotel itself, but many places are closing at 4 pm or earlier - btw the Kegon Fall "paid" observation deck is open free after 5 pm 😅

De rest van het hotel was wel wat vervallen. Net aks de omgeving overigens. Het personeel maakte veel goed. Het eten was wat veel, wat bijzondere gerechten en wat eentonig. Maar wel goed.

• LeShell (6/5): Yutorelo was adequate for our 2 day stay but is in need of updating. - The public baths were nice and the breakfast was good. The location was easy to find and access from the local bus. The view over Lake Chuzenji was beautiful. The property was misrepresented in the photos and was overpriced. The hotel and town generally are old and need an update. The carpets in the common area are very stained and unfortunately the lounge area overlooking the lake was under construction. I think it was the off season as well so there were limited food options for dinner.

Dla tego widoku warto. I świetny onsen pod gołym niebem. Hotel jest dość stary i duży, w pokoju słychać było krzyczące dzieci i grających w ping-ponga gości, łóżka zupełnie niewygodne - na szczęście w pokoju był futon i możliwość spania na podłodze. Obsługa była niezbyt przyjemnie nastawiona, kiedy prosiłam o opcję wegetariańską posiłku. Ogólnie nie był to mój najlepszy pobyt w Japonii.

For my breakfast, I wish the receptionist would have told me the breakfast is served until 9am only, otherwise perhaps they can text me through this channel, as I’ve missed out the paid breakfast and have not had any opportunity for taking a meal around this area until 12pm as no stores open until then.

• Noemie (8/5): Proche de la nature - Le lieux est reposant, durant la saison touristique basse attention à ne pas se faire avoir, il n'y a plus grand chose d'ouvert après 19:00. Lors des différentes sorties, nous avons pu observer les singes d'assez près. Concernant l'hôtel, il y a une salle sympa avec la possibilité de lire face au lac et aux montagne et la présence d'une table de tennis est pas mal... Nous n'avons pas testé les bains. Le petit déjeuner n'était pas vraiment enfant friendly mais le personnel a vraiment fait des efforts donc c'est appréciable Les alentours sont un peu désuet (surtout en période basse)

• Li Wah (8/5): Great view of Lake Chuzenji! - The lake view from the room is excellent. Family room is spacious with 2 single beds and also tatami area. There is an indoor and outdoor onsen, quite spacious bath area. Yutaka provided. Level 3 activity area and lounge area are great. Free activities like table tennis, board games, comic books, etc. Lounge area provide free soft drinks and coffee. Bus stop is few meters away. Can catch bus down to “town” and nearby places of interests. Chuzenji bus terminal is about 10-15 mins walk. Kegon falls is 15-20 mins. Stayed for 5D4N, paid for half board. Breakfast and dinner menus alternates, so it’s like Mon, Wed, Fri same menu…It’ll be great if they can perhaps have more choices or varieties (?).

• Pathompong (10/5): i high recommend this place to lone traveller for the dormitory type, for the room type i can't tell - the dormitory type room was very good for the price it was very clean and private, i was expecting an open bunkbed, but here you got a private space with closed curtains for yourself the toilets were super clean there was also a bus timetable (which was difficult to find in English) in English a bit far from the chuzenji onsen bus stop, it was a cold night i had to walk from the bus stop but for the price its fabulous

The plug in our private bath did not work. The room lighting was a bit harsh. Bedside lights would be useful. It would have been good to have a microwave in the guest lounge
• Karen (8/5): A relaxed stay with a view of the lake. - Located by the lake- good views from the bedroom. It has an outdoor and indoor Onsen to relax. Mixed between dormitories and rooms offering. Friendly reception and helps with check in and check out. The Onsen needs abit cleaning, understand there’s a lot of sulfur. The Onsen facilities need some upgrading.

• Jing Xi (9/5): Beautiful and cosy stay overlooking the lake - Very big room and there’s indoor and outdoor onsen, also have free flow alcohol, coffee, tea and icecream till 10+pm. The view out to the lake is very nice. Is slightly far from convenience store but still walkable.
