Guest Reviews
- Cheri (10/5): Easy late check in. So clean and spacious room. - Easy assess Cleanest Hotel I’ve stayed at in years.
- Schicker (7/5): -
- Christa (5/5): - The room itself was clean and tidy. The bathroom fan is broken and there is black mold in the shower and all over the bathroom walls.
- CRAIG (1/5): SADLY, NOT REALLY A HOTEL ANYMORE - Sorry, but it is time to stop pretending this low-rent apartment building is still a viable hotel. It is the only hotel in town so that may be why the owners think they do not have to maintain the facility. Very sad and too bad for visitors to Grantsburg.
- Kevin (7/5): -
- Marie (10/5): - It was close to the wildlife refuge which we came to visit. Supermarket close by. Room comfortable with good shower, microwave and fridge Nothing
- Schmaltz (8/5): -
- McBee (7/5): -
- Julie (6/5): -
- christopher (5/5): not a 7.9 rating - it was ok. but it rated as a 7.9 .. i that rating i expected a lot more it was just a motel
- Alan (10/5): -
- Deborah (10/5): - Clean and well stocked The parking was not well maintained. Several pot holes in the driveway. Door to room was hard to open
- Nils (8/5): -
- Ira (8/5): Very good -
- penny (8/5): - Its good for a one night stay or if you have a dog.
Not very friendly. No views. If they hadn't painted the outside yellow, it would be a really cool-looking place. There's a good place to eat, you can walk to. Downtown isn't too far away. Too much money for what you get.
- Roland (8/5): Very good - Price was high but it was a saturday. Price
- Alyssia (10/5): - Nice motel feel to it with laundry amenities
- Bobbie (8/5): - Room was clean and quiet
- Philip (4/5): Nothing special at all! - Beds were very uncomfortable!! Floor was vinyl but was nailed to keep the corners down and you feel them when you walk barefoot. Not worth the price!!
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rena (2/5): - Our room smelled like dog urine and the manager would not give us a discount since we got the room through expedia
- Janet (10/5): - Not fancy but just fine!
- Joel (9/5): Superb -
- Linda (9/5): Superb -
- Michael (10/5): - Clean, comfortable and reasonably priced
- Eric (10/5): - Was able to check in early, staff was friendly.
- Donald (9/5): Superb -
- Janice (8/5): Very good -
- Wallace (7/5): Good -
- Christine (10/5): Great host and comfortable stay - The host was extremelt helpful with arrival and check in, very accommdating to our lat arrival. Lights on, room warmed up, all to make sure we were comfortable. Room was very clean and comfortable. No loud noises or environmental disruptions for a good night sleep. I would stay again.
- Carrie (2/5): - Overcharged for room
- Eric (8/5): - Our room wasn't the cleanest, sheets had black hair, bathroom needed cleaning and no toilet paper. We made it thru though.
- Tim (6/5): 2 out of 5 Stars. - Hotel was expensive for its condition. Strong odors of excessive cleaning chemicals that remained strong thru our stay. Hotel is old and dated and in need of several updates.
Front Desk staff was very pleasant and helpful.
- Valerie (8/5): - The owner was super nice and we were really happy to have 4 beds in one hotel room!
However, the outside of motel wasn't very welcoming and several things inside the room were broken (handle on bathroom door, stopper for bathroom was missing, fan light didn't turn on).
- Latoya (10/5): Exceptional -
- Majersky (8/5): Very good no complaints - Didn't have breakfast we had a late night, got up in time for checkout, kind of a ways from our destination I thought it was closer but not bad the stay was clean and comfortable More seating in the room since we had the big room with 4 people
- Gena (7/5): I got in late and they were accommodating and I slept great. Nice location. Would recommend - Great location next to Crex Meadows A couple things need updating like the fan in the bathroom.
- Tonja (5/5): It was not what was expected. I won't be here again. gain unless absolutely necessary. - There were some bugs, and a skeleton of a spider in the bathroom. It was not very inviting. I found a small black bug in my bed. I wasn't impressed. The roku was not set up to enjoy without your own passwords, big no for us. The location had questionable buildings in the back of the hotel. I didn't feel completely safe.
- Michele (8/5): - The check in lady was super nice and helpful. The room was very clean. I felt safe in the area. It was great for a one night stay.
- GERALD (10/5): - Beds were a little hard but place was spotless and quite!!
- Patricia (8/5): Very good -
- Alexander (10/5): - Cool little place
- Paul (10/5): - Great room and service
- Jami (3/5): Scary, sketchy place to say the least, Hookers next door - Not much, they called and wanted to know if we could check in earlier as the staff wanted to leave work early.
Booking.com said last room available, so we quickly booked it.
Well we get there and there were only 10/20+ rooms filled.
False advertising…..bait and switch. See above, nothing to like
- Andrew (10/5): - Nice and clean cool and convenient
- Dennis (8/5): - Needs updating.
- Ernst (10/5): Exceptional -
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great staff, pleasant and helpful.
- Kimberly (10/5): - Booked the family room which had 4 beds, air conditioning worked great, laundry on site and grocery store next door. Would definitely stay again!
- Kari-jean (9/5): Superb - We got there late, they called to let us know the process for late check ins and we're super nice. Room was nice and clean!
- Richard (8/5): - We arrived late on are arrival & left quite early on departure,so didn’t get a chance to really check things out
- Paula (8/5): Very good -
- Carol (5/5): Adequate. Overpriced. - There was a fridge, a microwave and a TV. The bed was reasonably comfortable. The shower was hot, and the towels were nice. There was no breakfast, but on the other hand, the coffee was good. In my opinion, this place is overpriced considering how old it is and that there was not even a continental breakfast. The room might have been upgraded 15 years ago. There was a broken floorboard that had been poorly repaired. I kept stubbing my toe on it. A rug by the bed (or over the broken floorboard) would have been appreciated.
- Eric (4/5): Disappointing - The TV didn't work. Too complicated. Got 1 channel
- Yevgeniy (7/5): Good -
- Kathy (8/5): We would stay here again. - It was clean and that is super important to us. Wilma was very helpful when there was a problem/mixup. They'll allowed us one extra hour for checkout so that my husband could rest longer since he has cancer. The drain didn't work in our bathroom sink so the water would not drain out. We had to lift the plug with our fingernails and hold it.
- Dianne (10/5): - The room was very clean and comfortable.
- Larry (9/5): Superb -
- John (7/5): Good -
- Malene (5/5): It was cool for the night I stayed. The staff were very friendly. - The price was ok for what I needed. There were several service fees : if any stains were found on the sheets, blood, food. Etc there is $150 charge. I thought that was excessive.
- jamie (10/5): - No methheads broke into my car. That’s always a plus. Best accommodations in the good ole town of grantsburg.
- Ross (8/5): - A fine stay
- Brittany (8/5): - The staff was great about the late check in due to traffic and family conditions, very accommodating. I would stay here again next time I'm in the area. Thank you 😊
- Larry (8/5): - Went to a memorial service, nice place but need a Mat by the door for your shoes on wet days
- Rodney (8/5): Very good -
- Kyle (5/5): Passable - Relatively cheap. All the basics you need, plus a microwave a fridge. Dirty room. Missing sink stopper, no shampoo but 4 conditioners and 6 soaps.
- Sandra (8/5): - Our room was very clean and the location was convenient.
- Anonymous (7/5): Good -
- Touchstone (7/5): Good - Location was near where we were visiting and the price was good. Heating system was noisy and the pillows qere very hard.
- Lyle (10/5): - Clean, above expectations, Will be back
- Rita (7/5): Good -
- Snmoblr (5/5): Passable -
- Marie (7/5): Good -
- Elizabeth (7/5): Good - Coffee. Friendly staff. Convenient for passing through. It was fine and met our needs for a place to stay for one night on the road. Nice little motel. Along the highway, not in town. The drapery fell down, but we were able to prop it back up so the window was covered.
- Kate (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tracy (10/5): A plus! - Comfortable, nice staff. As advertised.
- Alan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Heath (7/5): Good - Coffee was good, nice people and location works well for me. Asked for a quiet room, either floor, and they put me under noisy people who were walking around late. 2nd time this has happened, not sure they understand how much sound travels through floors. Next time will ask for 2nd floor.
- Castagno (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrew (7/5): Good -
- Lisa (6/5): Different from Previous Years - I’ve stayed at this hotel for the past several years while in town for a festival. My room did not lock. There was a delay while that was being fixed. After check in I was advised that the prices went up, even though I’d booked months in advance. It would’ve been nice to know before I checked in so I could book a hotel closer to the venue I was there for. I received the receipt for a different customer, and notified the desk. It appears that customer got my receipt/personal info, which is very concerning. Because I’ve had great experience in the past, it was always worth the 45 minute drive from the festival. This year it was not worth the drive, sadly, and will most likely book elsewhere next year.
- Katie (7/5): Totally fine for a brief stay - Staff called to discuss check in since office closes at 9 and I was going to be coming late. Appreciated fridge in room. Room was clean, but everything was medium quality (uncomfortable mattress, cheap towels, plastic cups, uneven floors, lots of signs warning about extra fees). See above. One mattress was super firm, the other was super worn and floppy.
- James (8/5): - Understanding the building is older there was some walking traffic noise from above but nothing terrible. Had booked10 months in advance for a music festival near by. Understanding prices increase over time but would have liked the customer service of honouring the price quoted and agreed upon when booking. It's a motel with hot water, AC, fridge, microwave, coin-op laundry. It's clean and comfortable. Take a drive down the road to Burnett Dairy Co-Op for a sandwich, cheese and ice cream...delish!
- Caecilia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brian (8/5): - The Inn was very convenient to town. Was clean & comfortable .
- Sharon (10/5): - Very clean room. Convenient location and very friendly staff
- Jeremy (8/5): Overall satisfied. - Quiet clean comfortable room on upper level. Have stayed here several times. Many upgrades in recent years. Adequate parking area. Friendly staff. Easy checkin / checkout. No in-room coffee maker (lobby only) and no breakfast included. Cafe downtown good alternative.
Prices have jumped significantly. Just a few years ago the nightly rate was about 1/2 of what it is now.
- Ron (1/5): Will not return or recommend - Outside of the Motel was very unappealing, but room itself was clean. Outside looked awful and unattractive very dingy looking. Lobby area was clean but smelled musty and dirty. Didn't like the fact that there was a dead body 4 rooms down from us, very unnerving, we didn't sleep all night!
- Brooke (5/5): Passable - Carpeting felt disgusting on bare feet. Beds were too firm.
- Stephanie (5/5): Passable -
- Jode (6/5): Good location but low lifes hanging around made it not so great - Location Most of the night drunks gathered in front of my room in the parking place and drank and partied. I got to sleep about 1:30 a.m. when the mosquitos had eaten the drunks so they went to bed
- Smith (9/5): Superb -
- Dwight (1/5): Dive -
- Nels (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jenny (10/5): Exceptional -
- Adam (8/5): Very good -
- John (8/5): Just fine - The Lady at check in was helpful in leading us to a restaurant
- Sara (8/5): - Grantsburg Inn was perfect for our overnight stop on the way to Grandma's Marathon in Duluth. We had to leave by 4am to get to Duluth on time for the races. Other places closer to Duluth were either sold out or ridiculously expensive. Grantsburg Inn was reasonably priced. Checkout was perfect. We signed the invoice in our room and were on our way.
- Scott (4/5): Bizarre - Other guests turned into a bizarre drama And
Big White pickup pulled up with a livestock trailer hauling 17-18 Latin men and went upstairs above our room and all of them stayed in two rooms and were cooking in the rooms…
- Gail (8/5): Pleasant stay, good price, clean, but dated, facilities - The staff was engaged and friendly, the room was clean and spacious, and the price was very fair. It’s not that we didn’t like the “age” of the property, it’s just evident. (For instance our bathroom sink didn’t have a drain plug.)That said, the fact that the room was clean made all the difference to me.
