• Pavel (10/5): Nice hotel in the historical city centre - Nicely refurbished hotel in the very centre of historical Gyor but still in calm neighbourhood. Friendly staff, good breakfast, comfy bed. Two negatives: twin bed requested, double bed received. TV in room 211 did not work.

• Linda (10/5): Great Place To Stay - Highly recommended. Great location and great service. Friendly and helpful. Comfortable room with a good armchair and footstool. Very quiet yet in the old town area. Staff went out of their way to attend to any needs. Rooms are climate controlled by setting the thermostat in the room, there is a lift, etc., all conveniences. Breakfast was good. A huge early breakfast was packed for me when I had to leave before the regular breakfast time.

Not suitable for business traveler with bigger car. You might be able to squeeze in the car but will have difficulties getting out of car. I recommend You have a look at garage before driving inside

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was quite large and very comfortable and clean. The breakfast was quite good. The wifi was decent. I would happily stay again.
• John (10/5): Terrific hotel in the middle of Gyor - This hotel was very comfortable, and the staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Much of the hotel seems to have gone through some renovations. The hotel is quietly located on a small side street in the old portion of Gyor. The hotel is small and doesn’t overwhelm its surroundings. It’s a terrific pedestrian friendly location close to all the sights including the Danube. Gyor is a wonderful destination in Hungary, and the Hotel Capitulum was an equally wonderful host.
• Thomas (10/5): Great, quiet place with a fantastic staff - I really enjoyed the hotel. The staff was very attentive and helpful, in multiple languages! I asked for a few extra items and they were delivered within the hour even though they were not needed until the evening.
• Anita (8/5): - Restaurant is quite small considering the number of rooms. We could not have breakfast at 8.30. We managed it half an hour later. There is no microwave available in the restaurant for the guests where i could warm up some milk for my 2-year old son. Staff looked at me strange when I asked to have it warmed up... On the other hand the hotel and the room was clean. But the tableclothe was in a bit "used" condition when we finally managed to have breakfast...
• John (8/5): Excellent hotel, still slightly under construction - We stayed here for three nights. Located in a great (though almost hard to find) spot on a quiet pedestrian street. The hotel has recently been renovated, though sections of it are incomplete (we walked up a staircase to get to our room that was actually blocked off - I moved the barrier - because there weren't any hand railings installed...oops). The breakfast was adequate, the hotel itself very clean and new, and the room very spacious. Will stay here again when I return to the city in the future.
• MIfamilyguy (6/5): Can’t beat the location - The Schweizerhof is located in the old part of Gyor which is closed to traffic and a great area for evening strolls and dining. The staff are friendly and helpful, the bathrooms are clean and bright, and the beds firm but surprisingly comfortable, but that’s about it. Furnishings are pretty basic, especially the carpet which looks more like commercial/office flooring than something you’d expect in a hotel. The lounge is downright weird and the whole place is pretty dark, gloomy and old-fashioned. Two tips related to parking: the hotel has an underground carpark, but take a compact car because access is really tight and the parking slots are miniscule. Second, because the hotel is in the old, walking part of town, reaching it means getting past the access barrier. To do this, pull up close the post, roll down the window, and when a voice speaks from the post tell them “Hotel Schweizerhof.”
• elguido (2/5): Four star... you must be joking - On arriving at the hotel everything still seemed very nice...but that quickly changed after entering. The girl from reception seemed nice enough, but wasn't very professional and check-in wasn't as smooth as one should expect but afterwards it would be the least of my problems... We had booked the "suite" which was on a site of the hotel where there was no elevator so we had to carry our own, rather heavy ,luggage through a long hallway and up a few stairs ourselves. The help we received from the staff was absolutely nihil and it seemed funny enough for them to see us struggle. When we finally reached the second floor and opened our room everything was a little brighter again. The rooms were big enough but tastlessly decorated. The bathroom was not clean at all and the sheets were wrinkled and had some hair stuck on them... gone was the last expectation I had about this place! We had booked a package with "wellness" and diner, but I won't even mention the wellness (it isn't worth talking about anyway...) The diner is in their restaurant across the street and to be honest the food and service were very ok, no problem there. Breakfast was served in the lobby and was very basic, tasteless and boring. Maybe I was influenced by the ugliest deco I saw in my life. It was just awfull. I can go on for hours about this hotel but better to make a quick summary. Possitive: the diner at their restaurant across the street and the cheap drinks in the lobby bar. Negative: ALL THE REST
• lisapc1309 (8/5): Good hotel in great location - This hotel is situated in Gyor old town on a small side street. This makes it very quiet but quite problematic for taxi drivers to find. The room was large and comfortable with a seating area in addition to the bedroom and bathroom. The hotel restaurant was excellent and there was a 20% discount for guests. It is close to the main streets of the town if you want to venture outside. The only drawback was that there was no lift.
• louisebE5396DJ (10/5): Superb Friendly Hotel - We stayed 9 days at this Hotel. It is tucked away and can be hard to find. Some of the decor is a bit bizarre but we couldn't fault the service. Staff were helpful and friendly, and helped us booking taxis and trains. Our room was large, modern and clean with efficient air conditioning. Breakfast was excellent.
• NalaBala (10/5): Lovely, friendly hotel - great restaurant - Decided to stop off on our trip from Vienna to Budapest in Gyor to see a "real" Hungarian town. After checking the reviews on trip advisor we decided to try and find the Schweizerhof. Luckily we came across the hotel by accident whilst wandering around the streets as it is quite tucked away. The hotel itself was lovely, we had a great comfortable room, with walk-in wardrobe and clean bathroom, and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel has a restaurant across the street where guests receive a 20% discount, the staff here spoke excellent English and were very friendly and the food was possibly the best meal of our entire trip.
• Sue29 (8/5): Lovely place - Lovely little boutique hotel. It is a bit hard to find as it is tucked away in a quiet corner, but the locals were glad to help us find it. Because it was tucked away, it was very quiet, lovely with good breakfast.
• Go33015 (8/5): Definitely worth considering.............. - This little gem is hidden away in the right hand corner of a square. Sometimes also known as the Romantik Hotel. Although you can not park in the pedestrian area, there is a garage underneath the Hotel for guests to use. The Hotel has a traditional look to it on the outside, but the inside is very different, very unusual. The rooms are sizeable & tastefully decorated and the bathrooms have a partially heated floor. The breakfast choice is basic but acceptable. The bar tends to lack atmosphere in the evenings, which is probably due to its central location close to a variety of restaurants & bars in the area. Internet access is provided in the bedrooms which is an added bonus. Definitely a Hotel I would revisit if in the Gyor/Komarom area again.
