Nous avons passé un tres bon séjour a Mariposa, Darwin est au petits soins pour ses hôtes, très réactifs a nos demandes. Rien à redire !

661darleneh (10/5): FUN AND RELAXING - We spent a week at The Mariposa Lodge in West End with all 4 of our kids and some of our grandkids. Each couple had their own suite and we had the big apartment on the top for al of our meals that we cooked and ate together. The lodge is in an absolutely perfect location for a lot of really good restaurants and wonderful beach. We loved our suite at the lodge.
Mehrdad (7/5): Mariposa is a clean, quiet and well run lodge in a good location and offers good value. - Mariposa Lodge is a well located lodge off the main road in West End Roatan and so it is a quiet place. My room had the amenities that were mentioned on booking.com and I was expecting. The room was clean, with a clean bathroom with towels. The air conditioning worked fine. There was safety deposit box in room, which is a nice thing to have. And the room had a refrigerator, coffee maker and a microwave. The bed was comfortable with clean sheets, however the huge king size bed was too big for the small room. The first few days the internet did not work, however after I informed the staff the problem was resolved within a few days. The only problem I had were sand flee bites, I was eaten alive every night by these creature I couldn’t even see. I tried insect repellent, it didn’t help much. I had so many bites all over my body, scratched myself bloody. I have been back in the states for a week now and I am still scratching the bite marks. The property is clean and quiet. The small pool is a nice touch. The location of the lodge is central near everything in the west end.

Manwei (8/5): Very good - Location is great. Right next to everything in the west end. Air conditioning worked really well and was great on the hot muggy days. After a rain there were a lot of flying insects that appeared. Some of these made it into the room and were not cleaned when the room was serviced.
Michael (8/5): Very good - Mariposa Lodge was perfectly located in Roatan's West End. Located close enough to the action of Main Street, it was also tucked away down a quiet street away from the noise of the main road. On-site manage, Darwin, was super helpful at check in as well as helping me to arrange my departure transportation to the airport.

WJTX (10/5): Clean room with courteous staff! - Our stay at the Mariposa was great! The location is perfect for waking around West End and was very close to the stores, restaurants and dive shops. Our room was very clean and the staff was there for anything we needed. We will definitely be booking at the Mariposa for our next trip!
Melker (7/5): Perfect location, loud AC! - Location was perfect for us. Quiet at night but only a minute to West end road with all the restaurants. Nice but small and clean pool you can access 24/7 but only like 2 people at a time, the area is very small. AC was so loud at times, tried all settings and fan intensity but still I woke up sometimes at night because of it. People who worked there were nice, not super friendly but proffesional and they could store our luggage for an hour but we couldn't sit by the pool or anything, we were only allowed to stay at the entrance, that's ok but every other place we asked this trip were totally ok with us hanging out by the pool or whatever for a while after check out.
Vejunka (10/5): Holiday in paradise - We really enjoyed our stay. Mariposa is 1 minute away from busy west end bars and restaurants but hidden away a bit that you are not disturbed with laud music or people returning from night out. The room was great size with very comfortable big bed. We were provided by water so we didn't have to buy any in the shop whole week. We had fridge, microwave and coffee maker. All you need to reheat leftover food from restaurants (the portions were huge) and we could make our cup of coffee before we went out exploring :-). Staff was very friendly, we use the transport from and to the airport organizer by Mariposa. The driver was very nice, born and raise in Roatan so we could have a chat about that the island without being on official tour. We highly recommend this place for it's great location, good facilities and very professional staff. Thank you for making our stay so memorable Veronika and Simon :-). Nothing
Ellen (7/5): It’s a great location with few minor improvements needed. - The bed was very comfortable. The location is the best & quiet, even on weekends when the music is flowing from the main strip. I booked the room next to the one they put me in, because of the corner porch with table & chairs. It also overlooked the pool. That room also had 2 bedside lamps, one on each side of bed. Reasons I booked that room. The overhead pot lights need to be on a dimmer switch. It’s high or nothing. It would’ve been nice to have a “working safe”, available for use. I didn’t like the ants all over bathroom countertop 24/7. Maybe because there’s only hot water in the shower…I just wish I could’ve had the room I booked.

Close to everything but still in a quiet and very green area. The owner and the onsite staff are also very friendly, can highly recommend this stay to anyone who’s looking for a lovely place in Roatan.
Steven (2/5): - So many to name. Room was broken into with keys. Money was removed from the safe with keys. I used a chair to prop against the knob until the locks were changed. The owners refuse to reimburse any missing funds. They never once cleaned the room. Air conditioner was sketchy. Shower was either not or cold. No way to adjust the temp. The pool, like 10 x 10. Others on the property lost money in the same manner as well. Never go agian

Trip49043026157 (10/5): Comfy restful romantic getaway - Beautiful accommodations! Comfortable, clean, and quiet with gorgeous gardens on the grounds and a short walk to wverything you could need during your stay in West End. I booked one apartment for the first week of a two week stay, and decided to spend the rest of my two weeks here, and was able to move to another into another apartment that was even better than the first. Will definitely plan to stay here again during my next stay in Roatan. Great Value!

Bubbles007Montreal (10/5): Added Water Element - Once again the Mariposa Lodge was wonderful. And I especially enjoyed their new plunge pool. Perfect addition to their hotel. Mike and Susan are amazing hosts who are very passionate about Roatan life. I highly recommend you check them out. Clean rooms, hot water showers, comfy beds, and centrally located up from Main Street. I am looking forward to going back next year and staying at the Mariposa Lodge again.
johnsawyer2016 (10/5): Wonderful stay with my daughter in Roatan - My 24 year old daughter and I stayed with Mike and Sue at the Mariposa Lodge for a week while diving with West End Divers. What a lovely place! Simple, clean and quiet. Two minute walk down a dirt road to the dive shop and town. Nice little pool to dip in after a day diving. Great room with a kitchenette where we made breakfast each day. Mike and Sue were wonderful hosts with all sorts of suggestions for places to eat and things to do. I highly recommend the Mariposa Lodge - especially if diving with West End Divers, but would be great regardless of your reason for staying in West End, Roatan.

The stay and dive package with West End Divers is a perfect fit for myself and my friends traveling along with me. My room was nice and in a great location. The pool is a very nice addition!
ktmac711 (10/5): Perfect for a week of diving - This is my second time staying at the Mariposa Lodge. It is perfect for a dive trip. The rooms are clean and comfortable and have everything you need. I really like the convenience of a having a kitchenette while I'm on vacation. It's nice to be able to wake-up and make coffee in your room and occasionally cook some simple meals. It is steps away from the water and some of the best dive shops on the island. Mike and Sue who run the Marisposa are so friendly and helpful. Definitely check-out their dive and stay packages.
bossmbz (10/5): Always improving - We have been staying here for a number of years and consider this home when we are on Roatan. Sue and Mike are always available to answer questions. As time has gone by we have witnessed the contiual improvement of the property and are thrilled with the latest addition - a plunge pool and patio. Listening to Mike describe the process of digging the hole, pouring concrete, doing the tile work, etc. made MY BACK HURT. They have added the pool but maintained the lush gardens surrounding it. Great job guys and we will see you again next year.
Verified traveler (10/5): - Completely walkable to everything. Yet, the property is a short walk from the main road so it is quiet and private. Pool is small, but a little deeper than most so you can swim and play in it easily. Lots of beautiful flowers and trees surround the property.

It’s super close to all the shops and restaurants but a block off the main strip so nice and quiet and safe. No need for a car. Our room had a nice kitchenette and a comfy bed and a nice little private deck. Owners are very friendly and helpful and keep the place clean and in good condition. I would definitely stay here again.

dcfrompcreek (10/5): Set in a jungle garden... - We chose this lodge as it had a very attractive dive/stay package with West End Divers. We are glad we did! Only steps from the dive shop, the beach & a number of cafe’s & shops, it was perfectly situated. We booked the apartment with a kitchenette & separate bedroom, a comfy double size bed, A/C & ceiling fans. I woke every morning feeling like I was in a jungle! The kitchenette had a small fridge, microwave, two burner gas stove, coffee maker, dishes, cookware. Perfect for breakfast & other casual meals. You will want to try some of restaurants around though very good variety & low prices. There was a spacious outside deck to chill on, complete with hammocks & the lodge was quiet. Everything we could ask for & our hosts, Sue & Mike, pleasant & personable. We will return!

Clean and comfortable bed, adequate cooking facilities, fresh water and air conditioning. Nice verandah with hammock and chairs for relaxing after our dives.

Denis (10/5): Fantastic week in West End - Great spot located right in town, steps from the main street and dive shops. Handy and quaint apartment that allowed us to make small meals at home. Clean bath with hot water. Nice shared balcony for lounging on hammock or eating outside. Sue and Mike are great hosts and provide basics plus lots of great tips in the area. For the price you cant go wrong! You can book a stay and dive package with West End Divers - a GREAT dive shop! We travel alot and really enjoyed our week in West End. For the unexperienced traveller - this in NOT a beach resort kind of place.
heidi-yiuhoo (10/5): Very affordable spot with friendly hosts! - Could not have asked for a better place to stay while staying in Roatan for a week with two friends. Place was kept clean and Mike and Sue were very gracious hosts! They would offer helpful suggestions on places to go around Roatan, help coordinate cabs for us, and when my camera flooded, Mike even let me borrow his personal tools so I could try and salvage my camera. The rooms had fans, airconditioning available, a fridge, microwave, stovetop, sink, wifi, hot showers, a TV, and a separate room that you could borrow DVDs and games from. There were also comfortable hammocks you could lounge around in on the deck in the morning which was nice. This place is also located a walk away from several bars, restaurants, diveshops, and a water taxi to West Bay Beach, which made its location very convenient. While we were there, we dove with Coconut Tree Divers as part of one of their dive + lodging packages, which I highly recommend doing. Their prices were very affordable, and we had a great time diving!
395russellf (10/5): Great Spot in West End!! - I have stayed here a few times and in a number of different rooms and they are all great. Spacious and clean. The host, Mike and Sue, are great and often around doing things around the property!! Its in a great location just tucked off the main road but close to everything that you will need to enjoy West End and just across the street is the water taxi to West Bay!!
928rickg (10/5): Fantastic Stay, Fantastic Hosts - I had the good fortune of staying at Mariposa Lodge for the last 5 days while on an impromptu trip to Roatan. It served my purpose fully, and was exactly what I needed, as I was coming to the island mostly to dive. The room had all the basics a diver might need for shore time, but know heading in that it's not the Ritz-Carlton. Frankly, if you're expecting that level of hospitality, you should also be expecting to pay a lot more. I was just looking to have my basic needs met, and that's exactly what I got. I was comfortable, the room had air conditioning, and the television had cable and a DVD player though I didn't use it much of it.. There was a small refrigerator, as well as a microwave. The bathroom was small, with a functional sink and small shower. Also, you can flush toilet paper at this spot, which doesn't seem like a big deal unless you visited Central and South America, where many places have a separate garbage can for toilet paper (as do some other places on Roatan). I was greeted each morning by a very friendly cat, and sometimes a dog. Both belong to the lodge and float freely around the grounds. The hosts were good about helping with local travel-related questions and ideas. I don't have a lot of needs, but when I did they were responsive. I'll certainly look them up next time I come to Roatan! Thanks for a great stay Mike and Sue!
Ro087 (10/5): Great! - The accommodations were great! There was plenty of space, good beds, and hot water. Our hosts were very friendly and it was at an affordable price! I will definitely come here again when I come back to Roatan.
335lesp (8/5): Mariposa Lodge, West End, Roatan, Honduras - It was clean, had good a/c, a nice couple running it, not on the beach but just a block away from water taxis to take you to West Bay, snorkling, etc. and 2 blocks from Half Moon Bay, lots of restaurants nearby
ameliayporfirio (10/5): Thank you to Mike and Sue, owners - My daughter Iris and I just spent a week at the Mariposa Lodge and we had a great stay!..The apartment was clean and very beautiful..we really enjoyed the private balcony..the free DVD movie and book room..the resident cat! We felt very very safe during our entire stay..Sue was helpful in helping us make reservations to tour the mangroves and get to know the island...We loved our cozy apartment and can't wait to return!! Thanks again to Sue and Mike..great people!!!
CW I (10/5): Location, Comfort, Clean, Friendly - Good size studio apartment in a classic bungalow style, close but not too close (quiet) to West End Village so no need for a car. Friendly staff does a great job. Excellent value and I would definitely stay here again.
Heather & Tony (8/5): A great place to stay - We stayed 2 weeks in West End, and this is I think the nicest place on the island. There is a lively but non-commercial feel to West End which does not occur in other places there. Plenty of places to eat, and just a stroll to Half-Moon Bay with a lovely sand beach and very good snorkelling. There are many dive shops charging reasonable rates. It is one of the few places in Roatan where you can access a public beach easily. Unfortunately the island has allowed private moneyed development around most of the shoreline, almost totally limiting walk-in access. For snorkelling the reef, you pretty much need to take a boat.

jmkalksne (10/5): Close to everything but relaxed and quiet! - Just back from a WONDERFUL 8 day stay at the Mariposa! The room was very clean and had everything we could have needed! Kitchen is well stocked, bathroom very clean and nice water pressure. A small living area separately to watch tv or visit. Air Conditioning kept us comfy but the breeze goes thru the room nicely also. Cable TV was just installed so my hubby didn't miss his Playoff games. Wifi worked well except on the porch. Nice little porch with table and chairs and a great hammock for relaxing. Sue arranged a taxi from the airport that brought us right in and then another to return us to the airport. Sue and Michael were so friendly and accommodating and were great with helping us get acclimated since it was our first but definitely not our last visit to Roatan. I'm surprised to hear it's only rated 2.5!
