Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (6/5): - No bedbugs, no cockroaches, friendly people working there, excellent kitchenette - but broken window blinds, one sheet per bed, the worst reno I have seen in years and beside a hospital, with medi-vac helicopters several times a day (and night), and ambulances 24/7. It has its positives (price...), but is a no illusions place to sleep.
- Earlybird (6/5): - the new manager is nice; but the property is noisy
- wendy (6/5): - Room was not suitable for six people, looked nothing like the photos, not enough real beds for six people, three chairs that pulled out into very hard beds, only two chairs at the dining table, one of the chairs was barely holding together. Would be comfortable for three people but not six. Property did not reply to any of the questions I posted.
- James (2/5): Not impressed unfortunately - Ok so to start... My room wasn't the w one as shown in the picture.
I had no curtains so the sun was streaming in early.
I complained but nothing was done.
Next a mouse kept me awake most of the 2nd night culminating in it climbing over my pillow at 2am! Needless to sat I didn't get any sleep.
Complained but not much was done. They said they'd sent out an exterminator but there were no traps set.
The price was bizarre. I paid one price to hotels.com but the receipt the apartment gave me was much less! So I don't know what's going on.
The location was handy
- Ruthann (4/5): Nice staff, not so great everything else. - I feel the minimum you should be able to accomplish if you're renting out rooms for people to stay in is to have a working toilet seat. After complaining it still couldn't be fixed or replaced. They need to just buy a new toilet so that they can get a seat that fits it. Every time I sat down the toilet seat slipped off to the side, really aggravating . Paperthin walls, tile floors that make noise no matter if you're barefoot or in stilettos. The place really needs an overhaul. It served it's purpose for six days but I would never do it again.
- Mel (8/5): A nice clean apartment close to tube links. - I went with a group of friends and it was an ideal setting for a group get together.
The apartment was spotlessly clean and had all the amenities needed for our stay.
I would definitely book to stay here again.
- Susan (10/5): Best place for a family - One must understand that this is not a hotel/motel. This is an apartment with housekeeping only once a week. Thus, Small things like a garbage bin in the bathroom maybe missing and there will be the odd cracked or old piece of wood, etc.
However, for the price we would have loved to stay here for a whole week and any future stay in Paris we will stay here.
There are 2 bedrooms and an upstairs walk in kitchen/dining room living area. There is a full bathroom and another’s half bathroom and an ensuite washer. The kitchen has all the utensils which really helped us with supper and breakfast.
True, it’s a good 35-40 minutes drive from the Champ Ellysis or Eiffel Tower, but we saved hundreds for staying here rather than the hotels downtown ans saved even more buying groceries down the street rather than eating out. Parking is also in an underneath parking lot that is very spacious and halfback empty.
- Kaye (10/5): Modern Clean with ample amenities... - Easy check in and made very welcome... apartment was very clean and comfortable .. would definitely stay here again... so close to the centre of town and excellent for the price.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Staff - Very nice staff!! Nice size room!! Was nice to have a kitchen
- Joe (4/5): Very small - Expedia promised 1 double, 4 singles and a sofa bed.
We got one double, 1 single, 2 sofa beds and the manager arrived with an additional small fold-up bed, which he could not unfold as it would have to be put in front of the front door.
As a place for 3 or 4 people, it would be just about acceptable, But they rated this as "sleeps 6/7 people".
Who ever did that needs to get a new job, because they definitely cannot rate accommodation.
Photos make it look big, it is definitely not.
WiFi was terrible.
My daughter kept moving all over the apartment to try and get a signal, which she would regularly loos, and have to try and re-connect. We were on the top floor, maybe that had something to do with it.
- Olivier (8/5): - Overall a good experience, The flat was spacious and in good condition.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice apartment away from the tourists - The city-gate apartments are clean, well-kept, and roomy (for London). The only drawback is that they are slightly out of the way. You take the Whitechapel tube stop in East London. We actually liked being out of the tourist crowd. I feel like we got to see more of the "real" London by staying there, hanging out in the local pubs, and taking advantage of the delicious Indian and Bangladeshi restaurants nearby. The staff was very kind and accommodating.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Felt like a holiday appartment - Difficult to find but really lovely landlord. Needs the TV moving as it's in a really terrible place and the wifi is poor. But lovely bed - so I great nights sleep which for me is the most important thing!
- John (2/5): 1 room for the price of 2! - Absolutely appalling accommodation despite the apparent 5 star quality suggested on Hotels, com! The building has been converted to form a number of self catering units but the quality and workmanship are totally amateur!! I decided not to stay in the end and paid ore to stay at another nearby aparthotel - 1 room for the price of 2!! I won't be going back or using Hotels.com again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - This apartment with 2 bedrooms could probably sleep 5-6 with extra beds in kitchen area. At the price this a value compared to 2 x single rooms in nearby hotels. Apartment standard is very high in terms of furnishing, comfortable bed etc. Downside were toilet seat was not connected and lying by the side, WIFI signal was poor/non-existent, and you need to link up to arrange time of arrival. Otherwise, very comfortable.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Ok for a night - 5 mins to tube. Expect road noise and sirens as near main road and hospital. There is a room with double bed. The second room has a single and a sofa bed (2 x 9 yr olds managed ok on it would be tight for 2 adults). Open plan kitchen diner has another sofa bed. Also a gold up bed. Wifi didn't work and table leg was nearly falling off so you had to be careful not to lean on table. Can't see the tv from the sofa have to sit around one side of kitchen table. Only 4 dining chairs so we let kids use table and we used sofa to eat.
Apartment was clean and kitchen good. 5 mins to big sainsburys. For one night and the price it was fine but for longer stay I would want less road noise.
- Daniel (6/5): One night wonder - Stayed here after winning tickets to a gig locally, wish we had more time to enjoy London and shoreditch itself. The apartment was nice, if a little tired here and then buy fitted it's purpose and Ozzie the concierge was really accommodating as we were late and were a bit loud with music when we got in after the gig, would recommend!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Modern apartment - Fab apartment. Very spacious perfect location. Was kind of noisey outside but if you are in city centre that is what you would expect.
The room it self was very clean, there was a funny smell in the kitchen but wasn't too bad when you was in the room for long.
Bathroom water pressure could be slightly better too but overall great value for money.
- William (2/5): I froze. - No one on site. You have to email or call them when you arrive at the building. I didn't have an international phone plan so I had no access to email or phone when I was standing at the property. The store next door thankfully let me use a phone. I dialed the number on my confirmation but couldn't get through. I just banged on the door. One of the cleaning ladies must have heard me and came and opened the door. There is an outer wooden door on the street. I had no access. Inside that door are two more doors. One for the property and one for a business. Maybe if the business was open I could have gotten to the inner door but the only way I got to the inner door was someone came out. I went through the outer door and banged on the inner door. That's when the employee heard me and came and let me in. The last email I had from them said someone would be there to let me in but looking back how would they have known I was there. I will never stay there again. Oh and the heat. This sealed it for me. I was very very cold all night. I s turned the heat all the way up and every radiator in the room stayed cold to the touch. I had great wifi there so I started emailing to ask for help with the heat. No answer. No answer all night. I took every blanket in the room and curled up in bed thinking what a waste of $180US dollars a night. Thankfully I only booked one night. The next morning the cleaning lady looked really upset and pointed to her watch 11 O'clock as I was still in the room
