Guest Reviews
- Andrew (10/5): - Very remote and quiet. No issues at all. Nice to find milk, eggs, bread and biscuits as a welcome pack.
- Thomas (10/5): - What a beautiful place to stay, Mum, Nain and I where blown away by the property and the views. We will be back. Thank you
- Neil (10/5): - My wife, dog and I stayed in the Parlour cottage at the end of August 2024. Please take note that they prefer cash or bankers transfer, Hotels.com does not take the money.
It is so relaxing and quite, this is down to the hands off way of the owners, Martin & Kate. We arrived and found a wonderful welcome pack waiting of Bread, milk, eggs and biscuits. The cottage is well equipped although some mobile service providers, (Vodafone) do not cover the area.
Locally there is a small shop come P.O. otherwise its a trip to Cardigan. There is so much culture in the way of waterfalls, castles, forts and prehistory locally. This kept us and the dog occupied. Seek advice for places to eat locally in the evening, nice places within 10-15 miles.
Will defiantly return for regeneration.
- Isabel (10/5): Lovely cottage in stunning location - The accommodation was lovely and very comfortable. It had everything we needed and great views. The location was so peaceful and ideal for exploring the area. We will definitely be back!
- Maciej (10/5): - We had amazing stay. Lovely surroundings including good access to the beautiful sandy beaches and shops within 20 min drive. Definitely we will be back again.
- Faye (10/5): Idyllic. - Beautiful accommodation with friendly, helpful hosts. Stunning location in Wales convenient for local beaches, coastal walks, St David’s. Thanks also for the milk, eggs & hot cross buns!
- Mark (10/5): Great for a short break away - Wernddofn is a lovely person place and the owner Kate was lovely. The cottage was clean and tidy and well equipped and I would recommend it
- sharon (10/5): Faultless - Can’t fault any part of our stay, the house was perfect 5 adults and one three year old. Lots of space, down stairs bedroom with ensuite was perfect for great grandparents. Outside area was nice in the morning to sit with a coffee, lots of green space for little one to run and explore. Kitchen had everything and a lovely welcome gift. Five mins drive to local shop for fresh bread. Fifteen mins drive to larger shop with huge selection of local foods. Half hour to small national trust beach Mwnt, a few steps down but great for seal spotting. Lots and lots of places to visit locally within a five minute drive and further afield. Coast line is amazing some areas look like they’ve popped out of the goonies movie. Our host were lovely and very welcoming, beautiful location and well kept property. Highly recommended
- Ade (10/5): - Very friendly Kate and Martin good welcoming on the day we set foot at premises
- C L (10/5): Beautiful cottage - definitely recommend - We stayed in the parlour for 4 days. It’s in a beautiful setting surrounded by rolling hills and countryside. Cottage was cozy and well equipped with everything we could ever need. We would definitely stay again!
The photos used do not do it justice - it is truly lovely!
The only feedback I could possibly give the owners is - a few more DVDs wouldn’t hurt to have choice from, as quite a few are damaged / missing the disc :-)
- Karen (10/5): Warm Cosy Cottage - Absolutely lovely couple of nights at The Parlour. In the middle of storm Arwen, the cottage offered a warm cosy place to stay for me and my dog. Only 20 minutes from the beach and close to other places of interest, it was a great base for our visit. Hope to return!
- CONRAD (10/5): The Stable - Exellent stay in lovely settings.
- Caroline (10/5): Quiet getaway - Lovely quiet location. No internet in the house but can be accessed standing outside in the courtyard. DVD's, cds and a selection of board games are provided. Everything you would need in the kitchen is provided. We liked the added welcome of milk, bread, eggs and jaffa cakes on arrival.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Wonderful cottage in a great location. - We had such a wonderful stay at Werndoffyn! Kate was lovely, we stayed in the dairy cottage and it was beautiful! So well equipped had literally everything you could need! We didn’t even use the upstairs as there was just the two of us & our dog. Well located for beaches, walks and tourist attractions and lots of info on days out, places to eat etc in the cottage. Very dog friendly and so cosy! We would not hesitate to stay here again & will be recommending it to all our friends & family!
- Raees (10/5): Stunning cottage and surrounding area - One of the nicest places I've ever stayed at, for three friends looking for a much needed city break, this cottage and the surrounding area was perfect. Very clean throughout, and will definitely be coming back here sometime in the future.
- Rachel (10/5): Highly recommend - We spent the weekend in the Stable and wish we could have stayed longer. We had everything we needed and couldn’t want for anything else.
- Rafique (10/5): Nice country getaway - Our family enjoyed staying here. Kate and Martin were very helpful and friendly.
Nice quiet country retreat with many nice beaches a short drive away.

- A L (8/5): Tranquil hideaway. - We had a great break. The cottage was lovely, clean and comfortable with everything you would expect. The only downfall was the access lanes - council and private, both being narrow and in need of attention (re potholes etc).
- Carl (10/5): Beautiful place - A lovely relaxing weekend, with beautiful views and beautiful towns all close by. Great hosts. Carl, Lauren, Lilah
- Ian (8/5): Peaceful and tranquil - Lovely barn conversion. Lovely peaceful location and was ok for what we planned. Teenage daughter less impressed with the lack of phone and wifi signal which I thought was a god send.
- Rikki (10/5): Stable Cottage - Loved it and will certainly be booking in a return stay the next time we visit Wales. The cottage is well equipped and the beds are very comfortable. We enjoyed some beautiful countryside walks while staying here.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Owners very welcoming and considerate. Providing a welcome of fresh eggs, bread and some tea bags.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Fantastic holiday home! - We had a lovely time staying at the Stable. Very welcoming and friendly service from the owners and beautiful views. The cottage had everything we could possibly have needed
- Marcus A L (10/5): Amazing for a couple - This place is in a great area and there are plenty of things to do within a few miles, it was better then expected.
- Cosmin (10/5): Excellent - Lovely cottage. My and my family enjoyed the staying and definitely will be back at this accomodation. The area around is very nice and you have lots of places to visit.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely quiet place to stay - Lovely quiet place to stay. A great place to relax.
- M (10/5): I never give reviews, but this was so good!! - Kate and Martin have thought of everything. The cottage itself is like a home from home, well appointed with all modern appliances including microwave and dishwasher, so cooking at home is a breeze. The spacious cottage is sooo comfy, with log burner, modern central heating, waterfall showers ensuite etc. There is no doubt that you could move into these cottages and feel like you have landed well. Then, of course there are the walks and rambiling opportunities on your doorstep. The cottages are situated in the middle of glorious walks and within 2 seconds of leaving the property you are on an adventure. If you want to go out, there are (of course) hundreds of beaches and other walking sites to explore. Cardigan as a local town is worth a visit but further afield brings many options including Trendy Tenby and others. As a place to come home to the cottage was a blessing, and Martin & Kate, (whilst they left us to our own devices) were so accomodating. I would highly, highly recommend this location, cottage and "host" for your stay, be prepared to drive a little and explore / adventure to find the best beaches in Wales and you will decide as we have that going back is compulsory..
- Ruth (8/5): - Great cottage. Beautiful very quiet area.
There is no wifi despite it being advertised
- Tina (10/5): Getaway in Wales - It was lovely to be away and relax over the Christmas period.
Many thanks to our great hosts Karen and Martin.
- Garry (10/5): Peaceful getaway - Lovely location would recommend to anyone. Very peaceful setting and lovely host
- Bhupinder (8/5): - Secluded, peaceful and relaxing.
- Zhanar (10/5): Wonderful and clean cottage, helpful owners! - Lovely country cottage, very quite and secluded place. We loved staying here, the owners are lovely people, and Kate's homemade bread and scones are yummy!! We hope to be back soon.
- Dominic (10/5): Wonderful - Simply wonderful, peaceful getaway in the middle of the countryside about 30 minutes drive from Cardigan Bay.
- Stacey (8/5): Country cottage with country location and beautifu - Lovely homemade scones and bara brith - bread and eggs on arrival.Would have liked some basic tea - sugar and coffee sachets provided.Very clean and well maintained.Double bed was a bit small for us - the single bed mattresses were hard. No TV or DVD working for the two nights we stayed. Beautiful scenery - quiet location. Very narrow roads to access the property but an ideal location for what we required.
- Kathleen (10/5): Quiet Wales Countryside - Fabulous and relaxing.
- T E (10/5): Best Cottage Getaway Ever. - Complete peace and quiet in a lovely cottage with beautiful views.Hosts were Fantastic.
The whole experience was priceless, will definitely recommend and hope to return soon.
- Conrad (10/5): - Lovely break away from it all in a beautiful cottage with wonderful views!
- Gareth (10/5): Stunning little getaway - This is a great place, the location is stunning, countryside views for miles around, but close enough to drive to local amenities and beeches.
The YBarn itself is very well equipped with plenty of space inside and a little garden outside.
The owners were spot on, we were very warmly welcomed and the fresh bread, eggs and scones were a lovely touch.
If you want to get away from it all, then i would highly recommend it.
- C D (10/5): Family Getaway - Excellent highly recommend
