- Grachek (7/5): - The room was very nice. It has a nice kitchen (although I would change the lightbulbs to 3000K; trust me) and is big enough to host a pregame party, which is what we needed it for :) The check in process was extremely stressful. They upgraded the rooms without saying anything at check in. Usually that is fine, but I had planned out the room types based on the people staying in them (it was a bachelorette party, and some people didn't know each other, so I didn't think they should room together, whereas other people did know each other and could be together easily). They needed everyone's first and last names at check in, usually fine as well, but they asked me to spell them verbally... which honestly was kind of tough. And when I asked to just write them down, the people working there gave me a hard time. To be honest, I would have preferred less of an upgrade and more to be on the same floor all together. Additionally, the room was really hot when I first arrived and I couldn't get it to cool down. It was cold outside so this seemed really weird, &the windows didn't open in the living space, only in the bedroom area. I adjusted the thermostat & it made no difference until about 8 hours later. I turned it back down, & in the morning, it was now freezing in the bedroom area, and back to being hot in the living space. It made sleeping very uncomfortable. It turned out there was a second thermostat I hadn't seen... still not sure which one worked on the bedroom. They were both in the living space. Also, parking was a nightmare. I called ahead to ask if parking was included in our stay, since there is a public lot very close. And the person on the phone rudely said "Oh NO! It's not. We have a valet service that costs extra though! And parking is free after midnight!" I thought okay, it will probably be cheaper that way.... well it wasn't. And the parking garage is under construction. And not accessible from the hotel's street currently. I really wish the person on the phone would have taken the time to explain that. I'm sure lots of people have questions about this.

- W4255REericar (10/5): Really great…my new go to hotel! - This is the best location. And the only downtown hotel that includes breakfast in the rate already so I don’t have to worry about calculating that in.
- Trip35579615478 (10/5): Easy choice - We stayed for two weeks, and had an all around great experience. The only non-standard thing was parking, but that’s a tradeoff for being downtown. Location was great. Rooms were spacious and clean. There was near zero noise in the room, overall great value for the money. The front desk staff was awesome whenever we needed them, or just being friendly. Special shout out to Cameron, Shane, and Steve, thanks for making it a great stay. I would definitely return.

- peggypuntagorda (10/5): Wonderful experience - My husband and I stayed three nights in early March 2026 because my husband was being evaluated for cancer at University of Michigan Hospital. We then stayed five nights later in March while my husband was recovering from cancer surgery. The young man at the front desk, Cameron, was wonderful. Very compassionate about our situation and very caring. The breakfasts were a step up from the usual fare at other Residence Inn’s. Fresh food and a varied menu. Room was well appointed. Valet quick to retrieve our car when needed. Complimentary warm cookies provided each afternoon in the lobby. A perfect place to stay anytime, but especially convenient if your loved one needs medical care at the University of Michigan complex, because of its close proximity. Wonderful experience.

- IntervalIntl (10/5): Kindness Matters! - My last minute trip from California to Michigan to support a dear family member through a serious medical crisis was stressful. All of the caring staff at the Residence Inn (who did not know my circumstances), were terrific. Every morning at breakfast, I was greeted by a kitchen attendant, Walter, with a great big smile! He was professional AND fun and delightful. The front desk staff were exceptionally accommodating, especially Cameron. My room was kept clean, comfy and well-supplied for my entire stay. I remain very grateful. Thank you!

Woke up and the floor/carpet of the bedroom was soaking wet, flooded. Got our clothes and shoes wet. HVAC was loud and inconsistent. Every light switch I touched gave me a huge shock. Very bad experience. Management needs to upgrade this hotel.

From those cleaning, to those coordinating/cleaning up the breakfast area, to the front desk staff- all were friendly and happy to assist. - woolylambs55 (10/5): Best experience during a difficult time. - We are very pleased with the excellent service Resistance Inn Ann Arbor delivers. From the start with Erin making arrangements with our multi weeks of stays, to front desk Cameron and Tracey welcomings. And it does not end there. Rooms are spacious and spotless. Staff really pays attention to details. Each morning we enjoyed the endless breakfast prepared by Haroldo, and attended by Walter, always both with a greeting and smile. Lee who mans the valet is an major asset to the company., so helpful, caring and yet professional. Management is spot on with training staff and running an A+ establishment. Because my medical treatment will be ending after 5 weeks, our stay will also be ending, however we will take many wonderful memories of the staff of Residence Inn Downtown Ann Arbor Cheryl and Randy Nicholson

I appreciated that he made the extra effort although he was busy and the hotel was sold out the night before a football game.

After a horrendous night in the ICU with a family member, we were welcomed with warm smiles at 3 AM and when we left this morning, we were sent away with big hugs well wishes and a few things to get us on our way We cannot thank you enough and we look forward to staying with you again. - Douglas (6/5): Ann Arbor Michigan Football Game Weekend - The hotel has no parking and you have to self park in a public parking lot about a block away and parking is $1.65 per hour. Factor this into your hotel pricing as other hotels with free self parking could be more economical for your stay. The rooms are sizable, but the bathrooms have a shower that stays open in the back as it has no sliding door and it is almost impossible to shower without getting the bathroom floor wet. The rooms are in need of upgrades - especially the bathroom.

The breakfast was fairly standard, but there's probably something for everyone there. The room was quiet and spacious. The location was great and it was easy to get to campus, dining, etc. on foot. I was choosing between staying at the Graduate and the Residence Inn, and I was happy with the choice I made. If I visit Ann Arbor again, I would choose to stay here again.

- 460caronm (10/5): Front Desk Customer Service outstanding - The property is just as you expect a Residence Inn to be, but the service at the front desk, specifically from Tracey, was like being at the Ritz. We had a large family and friend gathering this past weekend and there were more then several computer related glitches with room assignments, credit cards and the like. Tracey handled each and every one of the problems with professionalism and grace, she never made us feel like we were pestering her, she new us by first name, apologizing for any inconvenience that we had and even gave me a hug at checkout! Hang on to Tracey - she’s your biggest asset!

Also a well appointed Kitchenette with a full size Refrigerator, Microwave Toaster dishwasher great for families and for longer stays. Breakfast is as ok. They do have an exercise room and a swimming pool. Front desk staff was very helpful particularly Kevin, Tracy and Jaz

But overall, it's a great place. Free breakfast is quite large and the area to eat it is very stylish. Would be nice to have some chicken or turkey bacon in the buffet.

Excellent staff, above average breakfast which includes delicious fresh fruit and tasty egg bites. Highly recommend this hotel - customer service adds to the overall pleasure of staying here.

- funfamily5 (10/5): Pleasant stay during a busy weekend - Combination of caring staff, great location, good breakfasts and well appointed rooms make this a favorite hotel when we visit our daughter in Ann Arbor. On our recent trip it was in response to a new grandchild who showed up a month early. Mike and Tracy were so compassionate and excited for our family and helped make a hectic trip better.

Anything we needed, she happily helped. Recommendations of awesome shops and restaurants within walking distance? Yep, she provided those and more! We stayed 2 nights for business; clean rooms, very comfortable beds, delicious and widely-assorted breakfast, good showers and amenities, plus terrific location. Everyone on staff that we interacted with was great, but we would come back and stay again simply because of Tracey.

- Verified traveler (8/5): Construction and comfort - Rooms are comfortable and spacious with hooks everywhere I needed them. When I checked in, I requested a warm, quiet room. With its individually controlled heat settings my room was exactly specific to my comfort which is very important. Above my third floor room the whole fourth floor was under construction/remodeling and the activity/noise began at 7:00 AM already, which was a disappointment. The gym is very basic with dumbbells and aerobic machines. The pool rather small which can be OK, but no deeper than 4.5 feet. really more of a play pool.

- cookingmel (10/5): Clean, comfortable stay in the heart of Ann Arbor - Clean, comfortable hotel. Hotel is currently being renovated and we had a room on the newly opened renovated floor. Well appointed rooms. Hotel staff is outstanding. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was surprisingly good for a hotel breakfast. Would definitely stay again.

She greeted everyone as they entered and left the lobby - such a wonderful ambassador for the hotel. We will definitely be back! Plus, the ooms were huge, nice, and the beds were incredible.

We visited family from California for Christmas and my wife’s birthday and the staff even took the extra effort to decorate our room for my wife and allowed me to have all of her presents delivered to the hotel for her. It was wonderful how well the helped me plan everything and took such wonderful care of us. Thank you for making it pleasant!
- splash3 (10/5): Great Staff - Excellent Note - Can't say enough good things about this property. The location is close to downtown and the university. The rooms are maintained and clean. The breakfast offerings are plentiful and fresh. Finally, the staff are wonderful. Tracey at the front desk was knowledgeable, helpful, organized and recommended places to visit in Ann Arbor. Jenna was great covering the evening/night shift. Shout out to Mosiah for maintaining the property and keeping things in order and working. Thanks also to the chef, Hector for the delicious hot food at breakfast. Loved the quiche! We will return!
- 7mlf (10/5): High marks on everything! - Everything about this hotel is nice, starting with the location right in downtown Ann Arbor. The room was very clean and quiet. Liked the layout with kitchen, counter for sitting, couch for TV and separate bedroom. The breakfast was surprisingly good - way nicer than your average hotel fare. Appreciated that I could get a healthy breakfast along with some bacon! Decent coffee and lots of coffee shop options close by. I wish parking were a little easier, but this is a downtown hotel so what can you expect?

- G4955XElindad (10/5): Residence Inn in Downtown Ann Arbor is one of the BEST!!!! - Such a great experience. We came into Ann Arbor to see Handel’s Messiah at the beautiful Hill Auditorium. We came from the west side of the state and directly went out to dinner and then the performance. By the time we got to The Residence Inn we were exhausted and VERY pleased to see our very clean room with such a comfortable bed. In the morning we met Tracy and Mosiah behind the front desk. We spent time chatting and they made our day! Immediately I felt like I was talking to long lost friends. They both spoke of the “great team” that they worked with at the hotel. No surprise. Everything was so clean and orderly. The breakfast was also very nice. Shout out to Tracy and Mosiah for ending our stay with such a fun conversation. We will be back!
- unikuorn (8/5): Great public spaces, average room - Can’t beat location for DTAA, UMich campus, and Kerrytown - walkable to everywhere with so many dining options and shops. Friendly desk and breakfast staff, with well-kept and welcoming public areas. Our room was in average condition, with worn furniture and sloppy upkeep in the bathroom. Appreciated the in room coffee and tea, but non-decaf was only offered in the lobby coffee bar. Bed was comfortable, but a room facing Huron or Ashley is going to hear the nighttime train and car traffic noise.

- jeffoD4821AN (10/5): The Best. - The Rsidence Inn Downtown Ann Arbor has become our family’s home away from home. The staff is simply put, incredible. We initially stayed during a football weekend and even though rates were more than twice as high yes properties 20 to 30 minutes outside of town, it was worth every penny. We have On another weekend,following our football weekend visit. The service what sets this property apart. I have stayed at Marriott properties around the world and must give kudos to this staff. In particular, Tracy, Mosiah but literally everyone on staff.

- jillcG9330GR (10/5): Great weekend - We recently stayed 3 nights in this hotel as part of a wedding block. From check in to check out, it was seamless. The front desk staff were excellent. Tracey, Abby, and Jenna were outstanding ! They represented Marriott as I would expect as a Platinum Bonvoy Member. I typically shy away from this brand, but this weekend has told me not to! Thanks to the entire Ann Arbor Downtown team, even if not mentioned by name!
- Michelle (7/5): Good place to stay for downtown activities. - Great location for our travel needs Room was a little dusty on side tables and under the desk. Couch in room had dirt marks on it and wasn’t very comfortable to sit on it because it had areas that the cushions were flattened.

- Kelly (10/5): - This is a great spot to stay especially for longer term stays. It’s like an apartment and had laundry on site which came in super handy. Nice gym and pool. Nice breakfast each morning that was included. Staff was super friendly and helpful.

- Angela (6/5): - Overall the hotel is nice. Rooms are nice. However my panoramic room was so noisy and loud that I could not sleep properly so I do not recommend any rooms facing Huron street. Also the sofa bed is highly insufficient and uncomfortable if you plan on using it for sleeping. I think sleeping on floor is preferable to the sofa bed. Parking is also a bit of a hassle. Breakfast was just okay.
- Christine (8/5): - Went there for 2024 craft fair. Great location and staff. Only issue was refrigerator and air/heating unit was noisy at night. Also behind the door in the kitchen it was not swept so there some crumbs back there.
