Good walks
Very professional
Well done 👍
- Rebecca (8/5): Chocolate Box Pub in Beautiful Countryside - Very pretty little pub with a good selection of drinks and friendlystaff,Breakfast was very good,we stayed for dinner for one of our 3 nights and it was really good, very tasty, you could tell the quality of the produce was of a high standard and locally sourced, the pub garden is very cute.If you’re a fan of William Morris his Manor/Museum is literally a 5/10 min walk down the lane and there’s a nice three and a half mile walk through the Countryside and past a couple of Locks to Lechlade which has three pubs/restaurants and you can get a taxi back, places like Bibury(as expected very touristy and busy with limited parking)Upper and Lower Slaughter,Northleach are all about half hour away by car. Even though it was middle of May and not particularly warm in the evenings and first thing in the morning we had no heating in the room bar a electric heater which was disappointing as I feel the cold and hate getting out of the shower in a cold room plus couldn’t dry our towels back off also on our last morning Breakfast wasn’t available bar a limited Continental due to the Kitchen Extracter/Fan’s being cleaned professionally so a heads up the night before would of been more professional as we ended up with toast.
- Elpida (10/5): Lovely stay at the Cotswolds! - Cosy, nicely decorated and quiet rooms, comfortable bed, very friendly and accommodating staff, excellent food at the restaurant :)
- Elena (10/5): -
- Jean (9/5): - Pretty rooms Low beams at some of the doorways - knocked our heads a couple of times! Reduced wifi reception but could be location specific.

- Mary-Anne (10/5): Lovely stay.. The - When we arrived there was no welcome. Just that our rooms would be ready around 3. Which was okay but at least say hello and welcome. The breakfast was great and the rooms lovely. They just have to work on their welcoming skills. I think the staff could have been a bit more welcoming. It just seemed that we were a bit of an annoyance.
At the end of the day we discovered Kelmscott Manor which was a super bonus. We learned so much about William Morris…so the 3 hour trip was worthwhile.

- Janet (6/5): It was fine for an overnight stay, room & b/fast. Should be warned no food available Sunday eve and no drinks af - It’s quiet and in a pretty location The shower room was freezing cold.
Nobody flags that this pub kitchen closes at 18:00 on Sunday so you have to go searching for dinner. There are very very few options locally except for an Indian restaurant in Lechlade (very good)

- Gareth (10/5): A great English country pub. - It was very cosy. Nothing.
- Julie (9/5): Wonderful stay! would definitely book again - setting was amazing, so pretty !
Staff were helpful, nothing too much trouble . An extractor fan in the bathroom would be helpful.

Stunning garden and a lovely breakfast No blind in the bathroom, and the blind in the bedroom let in a lot of light ( floodlight at night and the early morning sun ) so we didn’t actually get as much sleep as we wanted the comfy bed made up for that though
- Peter (10/5): Great location. - The location was lovely, not far from the River Thames.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The food was very tasty. Our room was quite noisy from the cooling fan in the cellar room below. If you are a light sleeper you might struggle as we did.
- Viviana (10/5): -
- Roisin (7/5): - Cosy pub rural. Shower in need of a bit of repair and clean around seal.
- Georgina (10/5): - Possibly the most beautiful place I’ve stayed. Beautiful beer garden, bathroom, decor. Amazing breakfast. The staff were incredibly kind, and you can’t fault the beautiful location. Also the hand cream/ toiletries smelled incredible! Lovely touch having a French press in the room too. Bed was slightly hard for my liking but that’s all preference.
- Laurel (7/5): Very small rooms, very quiet, not close to any amenities - Nice little room It was very out the way of all your more ‘touristy’ spots, it’s a nightmare to get to in the dark! We almost didn’t make it because of the timings. They don’t serve food past 5pm on a Sunday.
- Karen (10/5): Perfect for that countryside escape it was everything and more - Location for me was perfect quietness of the country side but not far from places to visit super friendly staff and food was exceptional. Everything was perfect
- karine (9/5): Excellent - L’accueil le lieu l’esprit Vraiment pour dire quelque chose , les serviettes de toilette pas terribles

- Helen (10/5): Outstanding time at this great pub with rooms . - Everything. The rooms, the food, the service. We were a group of 10 friends from around the country meeting for a catch up, so we had 5 rooms and dinner. We booked the gin pantry, the private dining room , at no extra cost and had a fabulous time. We were assigned our own waitress in there and nothing was too much trouble for her. Can’t fault the whole trip. Nothing, it was great
- Nicole (9/5): Lovely quintessential English Inn, oozing with character. Very peaceful location. The food in the pub was fantastic. - Lovely quintessential English Inn, oozing with character. It was very peaceful in the countryside setting. Food was great. Towels were a bit tired looking
- Christina (10/5): We had the most wonderful night at this beautiful property and wished we could have stayed longer! - Loved everything, gorgeous location room staff were lovely and the food was so delicious
Toiletries and condiments in room were tasteful and of high quality Pillows

- Bethan mair Williams (10/5): Authentic , charming pub and rooms- Dog friendly - Location is absolutely charming..very authentic vibe, clean and very welcoming . My dog was made most comfortable . I had the room with the bath...gorgeous view of an apple tree from the bathroom window. Just a hidden gem and the price is so value for money. really, there was nothing.
- Tim (8/5): -
- Marie (8/5): Perfect for the occasion. Three ladies meeting up for a good old catch up! The beer garden was so lovely and the staff w - Lovely old country pub in the middle of nowhere where. Staff were great and most attentive. Food very good and great beer garden My room wasn’t very big which wasn’t too much of an issue as I was on my own but the bathroom needed refurbishing and the shower was continuously dripping!
- Davies (10/5): The perfect retreat - The place is a lovely retreat lovely walks on your doorstep..
The staff are very accommodating giving advice on where to go and what to do .
The food in the restaurant was excellent along with the breakfast which was too class and plenty of it Overall a great place to base yourself to explore the surrounding areas .
Will definitely return .
Andrew and Patreia. Nothing

- Ellie (5/5): Carpet and heaters were dirty - staff were pleasant, breakfast will really nice with a choice from 4-5 items that all sounded nice (full english breakfast, french toast, greek yoghurt + granola, avocado on toast). location is nice and quiet, parking is really easy right outside. the garden is pretty. the cleanliness left a lot to be desired unfortunately. the carpet felt and looked like it had not been vacuumed for weeks. there were various bits of dirt over multiple areas and a small bug crawling around. i looked over the heater and there was so much cobwebs inside. I contemplated very hard about going down to ask for a vacuum or asking for a change in room (giving the benefit of the doubt that maybe this corner room was simply vacant for a longer time) but decided that i would just put through the night. I would have not stayed another night, which is really a pity because i think it could have been a great stay if it was just in a better state.
- alun (10/5): very happy here, pefect for some peace and quiet , great outdoor area, great food great company! - everything about our stay in the plough was great, food was lovely for both dinner and breakfast, very peacful setting right next to the river thames access to the thames path within 5min walk , plenty of dog walking without going near busy roads ,staff were amazing, they all loved mollie our border collie, definitley reccomend stay here if you want a peacful stay. nothing really, everything was great
- Sue (8/5): - Very dog friendly The cooked breakfast was excellent but no fruit or cereal offered
- Marion (10/5): Sehr zu empfehlen - Sehr süße Unterkunft, super freundlich, schöne Zimmer, tolles Frühstück. Nichts.

- Gregorowski (10/5): -
- Constanze (9/5): - Sehr gutes Frühstück, super nett! Etwas hellhörig, aber ist eben ein altes Haus.
- Alice (10/5): Wonderful! we will be back :) - Breakfast was beautiful. Two lovely men served our breakfast and evening meals. Lovely stay. Nothing!
- McCarthy (9/5): Great Stay - Good and friendly service by all staff, with comfortable rooms and very chilled atmosphere. Lovely quite setting. Breakfast was lovely and would always accommodate any changes to Breakfast menu if asked. Would definitely go for another stay. Food was good, but limited menu if staying for more than a couple of nights. Maybe a soup of the day and the occasional special of the day would be nice. This is the only criticism we could find out of a 4 night stay.

- Camilla (10/5): - Posto spettacolare, tipico inglese nella campagna isolata. Ma con l'auto arrivi in tutte le cotswolds in pochissimo.
Cibo ottimo, colazione ottima, staff gentilissimo e cordiale. Pulito si, ovviamente per gli standard inglesi.
- Josh (9/5): Lovely stay, lovely staff, great food! - We had a lovely stay at the plough inn. The pub was in a quiet and tranquil spot and we were greeted with a warm welcome. The building has lots of charm and history. Food was great!
- Saleh (10/5): - Great, quiet, friendly, highly recommended Nothing
- paddi27 (10/5): Worth a visit. - Lovely room, good food and very pleasant staff. Situated in a beautiful rural setting, with some lovely cotswolds homes. Very comfortable.
- Robert (10/5): - Clean, quiet, attentive staff, good value Nothing
- Maria (10/5): - Todo. La cena. El desayuno y el dormitorio... Nada
- Julie (10/5): -
- Dave Ellerby (10/5): Idyllic Pub - Lovely little pub in a perfect location. Staff were very polite and helpful, especially the Manager. Room was clean and the bed very comfortable. We stopped in Golden Lily, which is above the bar area, but there wasn't noise until late. The pub is close to Cotswold Wildlife Park which is well worth a visit. The breakfasts are superb but you do have to ask for toast, with the Full English, if you want it Nothing, it was perfect
- Sarah (9/5): A great over night stay. Cosy room and attentive staff. -
- Amanda (8/5): Lovely stay, with a few minor issues to be sorted out. - Lovely location. Good ambience and food. Beautifully decorated rooms and high quality tea/coffee and bathroom toiletries Maybe a few maintenance checks for rooms - towel rail not working: toilet cistern fault, shower intermittently hot/cold water. Radiator not working, but sorted out on request.
- Karen (4/5): Disappointed - Unfortunately once we had check in, placed our bags in room had a drink in the bar we needed to return home suddenly as our daughter took ill. This meant we couldn’t stay for our meal and utilise the room for our overnight stay.
We explained the situation to the barman and asked if it was possible to pay for the room but use the stay at another mutually convenient date. He asked us to ring in the morning to check.
We did so but were told we couldn’t do this and they debited the overnight stay.
Given we didn’t use the room we felt that was really mean given the circumstances. We just wanted to use the stay at another mutually convenient date so in effect we would have received something for our money rather than nothing.
- Virpi (9/5): - Erinomainen aamiainen. Ja ravintolan ruuat mainiot! Rauhallinen sijainti. Tulisin ehdottomasti uudestaan! Täydellinen paikka ottaa irtiotto arjesta. Huone oli hiukan hätäisesti siivottu. Edellisen asukkaan hiuksia ja karvoja wc lattialla. Ja lipaston päällä pölyä. Mutta lakanat ja pyyhkeet puhtaat!
- Mark (10/5): WOW - Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and locals who made us feel very welcome.
What an amazing place will definitely be back. Nothing
- Frances (10/5): Cosy, welcoming, great food and excellent value for money. - Really cosy country pub with carefully decorated bedrooms. Loved the William Morris throughout accommodation and in the pub itself reflecting the local link.
We booked in for Sunday lunch which was excellent and our breakfast was fab too.
Such brilliant value.
- Daniel (10/5): -
- Steve (1/5): Inflexible booking policy ruined our trip. - Looked quaint. Booking.com filter didn’t work and we booked not knowing all of the rooms were on the 2nd floor. Despite having communicated to the inn weeks earlier that my mother has mobility issues. Upon arrival and seeing the rooms unsuitable I asked for a refund. The woman at the bar refused to refund as it was within 24 hours. So we lost our money and checked into a Holiday inn for half the price. Shame because it ruined my Mum’s trip of a lifetime.
- David (8/5): - Rooms were lovely although mattress was VERY firm
Nice bar
Good breakfast Lack on site parking
- Antriksh (7/5): -
- Jane (7/5): Enjoyed the stay, but beware when staying on a Sunday night, website says bar open until 10pm not the case , closed at 8 -
- Melania (10/5): - Ottimo lodge in piena campagna inglese. Camera pulita e molto accogliente
Grazie! Nulla
- Jamie (9/5): Lovely quiet stay - Very cosy country side pub Nothing
- Roger (10/5): Great stay, we will return. - The location was great out in the country, the accommodation was very clean, bar and restaurant area very nice and comfy, along with very nice food, staff we met were also friendly and helpful. Nothing to say to this question. Great stay
