When I reserved a room with 2 beds it didn't tell you that the room was on the 2nd floor. My husband can't do stairs. The front door was old and heavy. It should be replaced with a newer door.

emily (1/5): - Room reeked of smoke, was dingy, and overall just a bit sketchy. We ended up cancelling the reservation and finding a different hotel to stay in at 10pm on a sunday night after driving for 12 hours, which should truly tell you how dire the place was. Staff were friendly and helpful though!
Valerie (6/5): Our stay was fine. Unfortunately we didn’t have time for breakfast. We were there more medical test. - Snow removal to get to the stairs that go up to the second floor. Use of salt to clear the ice on the side walks in front of the office. The lobby door needs to be fixed so it is easy or open from the outside.

The property is dated and there are some sketchy looking people in the parking lot, but probably because it’s the cheapest stay in town. Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet. The room looked much better than the exterior of the building. Our stay included a freshly made breakfast in the restaurant downstairs. Front desk staff friendly and helpful. It was a good stay for the price. We would stay again.

Phillip (6/5): - We were on a quick pass through of Dawson, so we didn't want anything fancy as we were leaving very early in the morning, when we went to the room , it smelled very strong of smoke, even though it was supposed to be non- smoking, we went to the front desk and they were very good about it and offered us another rm, but when we checked it out it didn't smell but was not as "tidy" and was in need of more updates than the first rm. The staff were very good at letting us cancel the reservation, unfortunately for the prices of rm now a days we could not stay here.

Carmen (4/5): - Clean & Comfortable, but falsely advertised and poorly maintained. Overall, the room was clean, but many things were wrong with the interior of the room. It’s very dated, a lot of build up on showerhead preventing water from flowing properly, chair at desk had worn out surface, many plug-ins don’t work. One plug-in shorted out our hairdryer and could have caused a fire. The flooring is very old and stained. Some occupants of other rooms were loud and yelling next door after 10pm. Not much noise insulation between rooms. Fairly noisy parking lot around 5am too as all the rig workers are starting their trucks. The food in the restaurant was great. However, the hotel’s policy for redeeming vouchers for “free” breakfast was a HUGE hassle for everyone. U.S. and extended family booked 4 rooms. The third party websites all have it advertised as a free breakfast, but they will only cover up to two adults per room. Even if you have one child and one adult, they ask you to pay for the second person if they’re a child. They say the child’s breakfast is $2.50, but is an extremely small pancake and juice. Any extra occupants have to pay for a meal at a reduced rate. The policy and vouchers are super confusing and from one staff member to the next there was a different explanation. On third party websites there is no mention of fees for extra occupants, but once confirmed,the hotel sends a confirmation notices that states extra occupants have to pay an addditional $20 per person.

We went back as we realized we couldnt sleep with the squealing noise. They moved us to another room. The stairs had cigarette butts littered all over them. Staff was very friendly though.

Heather (4/5): - I was fooled by “by Wyndham” but they have not invested in this property at all. These rooms are heavily smoke filled. If these were $69 rooms I’d expect it but $129 a night it was absolutely unacceptable. Smoking laws have been in effect for over a decade. Beds are decent but every other fixture is from 1980s or maybe 1970s. Replacing the carpet alone would remove 3/4 of the odor. The bathroom fixtures are mostly functional but only the toilet is modern. I havent seen a tub like that since my first apartment 30 years ago. The rooms were unreasonably hot. There was no thermostat- only rad heat & space heater which were both turned off. To top it off they only had non-cancellable option so we were stuck there for 2 nights - which i always pay the extra for refundable. I won’t be back. I’ll splurge the extra $10 to stay at a newer hotel. Even after a night in my own bed my lungs still feel the heaviness of that smoky room.
