- Ed (10/5): - This a quaint and somewhat rustic motel in rural surroundings. The staff is welcoming, friendly and provide excellent customer service. Their folksy demeanor and relaxed attitude belie a professional commitment to customer satisfaction. This is a great place to decompress. The restaurant is not to be missed. I look forward to my next visit so I can sample more of the menu.

The room was very clean and the queen bed very comfortable. The only negative of the room was a very worn carpet, although it was as clean as possible. Breakfast of eggs, bacon, home potato fries with onion if desired, homemade toast and tea or coffee with refills was included with the room rental. The dining area is bright, nicely decorated and very clean. Overall very pleased and recommend it to anyone looking for a reasonably priced average motel.

But, it was decent, pricing was a bit high considering 2 double beds not queens, stated free breakfast but our kids breakfasts were not.... so bot only did we pay a higher price we ebded up having to lay for 2 kids brekfasts.

- Brandon (6/5): A Motel Stuck In The Past ,Great ServiceOverpriced - Staff are friendly, rooms are outdated but not terrible, lamps on the wall do not work but the plug in ones do and have a wireless phine charger built in / alarm clock ,room dose have a AC Unit old school style that hangs out the window, rooms have baseboard heat tho changing the thermostat dose not seem to effect the lvl of heat at all i belive its fixed to one setting , tv is very small hard to see for normal person ,let alone someone wirh visual porblems , toilet shifts around when you sit on it ,shower had cob webs on it ,water pressure was good ,tho the tempature seems to go betwen hot and cold, was a fly swatter in yhe medicine cabinet. Floors are stained / dirty carpet our bedding was dirty upon arrivial, all and all wouls nkt be terible if u needed a place to stop well on the road , but needs updating and better attention to cleanliness. Biggest issue was price . Should be a $80-90 room at most it was $160 same price as Hotels (not motels like this was ) loke the Chateau, Holliday inn etc which are way nicer and cleaner and offer way more . Breakfast was said to be included onky to find out it is not in winter time .weird but okay ,we tried the restaurant again staff where very nice ,tho food was laking in taste and preparation had a Hot turkey which had so many bones in it u gave up eating it , fries where good ,gfs chciken wrap was just okay nothing to write home about. Alcoholic drinks where reasonably priced . Dining are it self was very dark/depressing

- Terry (4/5): - There was a 12 person drinking barbecue party right in the spot where we suppose to park our car in front of our room. Found out hard way this motel is popular for side by side offroad groups . We had to walk thru the middle of the party to access our room my wife was very uncomfortable I made the best of a bad situation but this was at 7pm we hoped they would relocate there party in front of there own rooms but unfortunately the music got louder and talking remained in front of our room till 10pm.at night we have travelled all day and wanted some peace and quite to get some rest didn't happen . Also the rooms is dated with 70 s furinshing and washroom but it was clean . The free breakfast was buffet style and was excellent as well as the restaurant staff I assume the number 1 ranking this place has on trip advisor is for the restaurant not the hotel unless you are a side by side offroader and love to party perfect spot for you but if your traveling and want quite to rest this is not the place

We were traveling with dogs so it was great that they were welcomed in certain rooms as well as in the outside patio area. We came to the buffet at the end of the allotted time, but it was an adequate meal. Not recommended if you are vegetarian or vegan. Fresh veg was limited to romaine lettuce and spinach salad. However, the staff is very friendly and prompt. Homemade bread is really good. Big shout out to Vivian for her great breakfast service!

Put ear plugs in, left first thing a.m. while they’re STILL arguing. Sheesh.

Their restaurant serves really awesome food with portions you won’t find anywhere else. If they update the rooms a bit, it’ll be super. Cathy was also awesome as she gave us a loaf of their homemade multigrain bread to take home. Last but not least, we thought we’d only get charged $10 for the dog but end up paying $15, not too sure why. Could be an error with Expedia?

Stood and waited at the desk to check out and no one came. I ended up leaving the keys on the counter. The free breakfast was the only good thing about our stay. This motel was very overpriced for the state it is in.

- Verified traveler (4/5): Better bang for your buck elsewhere - This would not be my first choice if I needed to stay in Sussex again. While the room was somewhat updated there was no mirror (other than the tiny one in the bathroom), no hair dryer and the customer service was horrible. It was very disorganized checking in. They tried to double charge me, stating I didn’t pay already through the hotels.com app. When we went for supper at the attached restaurant the server was very rude advising us she was overworked. We ordered appetizers only and it took 2.5 hours (2 lbs of chicken wings, 1 nacho, 1 garlic bread). The following morning we went back to the same restaurant as breakfast was included, where again we were advised wait times would be long due to the servers being over worked (both times there were less than 4 tables filled in total). The server at breakfast provided me with some of the wrong food and instead of taking my plate away and serving me with the correct food he physically removed the incorrect food directly off my plate with his bare hands. Overall for the price the service and cleanliness combined with the lack of governance to the current Co-Vid19 policies and procedures would have me stay clear of this place.

There was nobody working the front desk, only the servers in the restaurant and they did not know a thing about checking in. After waiting 20 minutes, we finally got our room. We were disgusted by the dirtiness of the room. I felt gross stepping anywhere in the room. The shower was gross and did not want to take a shower, but since camping the night before, we did. The shower went from scorching hot to freezing cold the whole time. We brought our dogs with us (2) and online and in the room it said $10. When we got there, they charged us $35 for them. I even showed proof of the internet posting and the sign in the room but they refused to see it and charged $35 anyways (the server). It came with free breakfast but they did not give us it. The check out was the same thing, no one working the front desk to speak to about the prices and the problems, only a 16 year old server and a cook that refused to make us breakfast. I have never had such a bad experience staying at hotels.
