• jeanne (6/5): - They said in description that there was no elevator. So I emailed them and said I had recently sprained my ankle. They got back and said they do everything to accommodate us. The hotel was above a bar of the same name but they didn't have anything to do with the hotel. It was confusing trying to find where the entrance was. Our room was 222 so we thought okay one set of steps we can navigate it with my ankle and our luggage. No those first 18 steps got you two the first floor over the bar! And there were two more sets of steps till we got to the top.

• Christine (8/5): - Close walk from the train station and to surrounding restaurants. The room was clean and spacious but the bathroom was small. No cleaning service or changing of towels in the six days we were there. We had to ask for and pickup more towels, coffee, and toilet paper.
• Maureen (8/5): - This property is very old. My honest assessment is that it should not be more than $120/ night and that would be generous. The area out front is set up for just hanging out so at 2-3 am all you hear is talking laughing arguing under the window. The bed and mattress were very old I would recommend if you have no other options on a budget. We stayed for 3 nights. We would not return for what we paid I think you could find a better option. Location wise you are close to train station and you can walk 20 minutes in any direction and find great shops restaurants and land marks.

• Mark (6/5): - Close to Old Quebec City ! Walking distance to beautiful fine dining ! The downside … it’s located in an 1800’s building, and while it’s clean, it’s a sharp climb up and down, especially with luggage. Check in is in a sister property across the street. No ice machine on premises - need to go to sister property. No daily house cleaning. No day two coffee pods. No clean towels. Parking in a public open lot with no security. Our TV wasn’t working (we suggested dead batteries) but the 19 year old staff (at the sister hotel) blamed it on the cable box strapped to the back of the TV - it was as if “she’d heard the complaint before.” Luckily, we had good wifi and an iPad (sic). You be the judge ! $597.32 CAD for two nights via Expedia.

• Justin Van (8/5): - Hotel was nice in that it was a non-standard hotel. It had history and character. Bed was too firm for my liking. Room didn’t get tended to during our 3-night stay.
• Jane (8/5): - Walkable from train station. Check in time was 3, but our room was not available until after 3:30. Good a/c in the hot weather. No elevator and very steep steps up to the room, 2 floors up.
• Wing Ying (2/5): - Downstair the hotel is a pub , opening until 3am, the music and sound beat is loud , hard to sleep. The cleanliness of the room is poor , when I opened the door, there was a cockroach, the wall is full of spider. No reception at all, no elevator , if you carry heavy luggage , hard to go up. Even the location is good, Not recommend

• Bryan (6/5): Cute Old Building on Bar - Awesome location and cute hotel. Rooms are big. As others have said old and no elevator but not a deal breaker. Very busy area music plays quite loud till 3am so not for light sleepers.
• DENNIS (8/5): - Hotel Belley was in a great location close to all the old Quebec restaurants and shops. A little dated but very clean and comfortable. Had to check in across the street. Parking is $20/day beside the gas station -convenient. Very good value.
• Raymond (2/5): - It was very convenient being close to our cruise ship but being a Saturday night the bar was right under our room and was extremely loud with music and people yelling until 3 o’clock in the morning. Also no elevator very tight staircase for two old people.

• Michelle (10/5): - This was a great hotel and in a perfect location. It’s an easy 5 minute walk to the train station, and also near the quaint streets and boardwalk close to Chateau Frontenac. Lots of options for food or drinks. Also, the staff were very friendly and eager to help a weary traveller! I will definitely stay here again!
• JORGE (10/5): - I love this hotel, mainly, for its location: it's close to almost all the main amenities in the old city, including restaurants and bars. In addition, there is a parking place right in front and a gas station, so it's very convenient. Finally, it has a great bar on the first floor, perfect for the first and the last drink.

• Alireza (2/5): - Stay away from this hotel. It has bedbugs and the management refuses to accept it. I had reserved a room for three nights but I canceled on the second night after talking to the front desk for 20 minutes and explaining the situation. They told me at first to send the photo and the videos to get a refund for the first night, but now they are refusing to reimburse for the hellish night I experienced in their bed bug infested room. I have spend more than 100$ on medications so far. I have videos as well, but expedia doesn't let me share the videos in the review section.

• Jonathan (6/5): - The hotel is nice. It’s clean. The area and location is excellent. The bed is nice and comfortable. There are just several problems that it presents but I believe this depends on the person and situation. This is not a spot to stay if you need restful sleep. 1- let’s get the big obvious one out of the way ( they mention it very lightly in the ad for the hotel. Noise. You are living directly ontop a large late night bar. Nothing wrong with that just know it’s not that noise might be a problem. It is a problem. You will feel like your bed has a drum kit and a drink in it until about 4 am daily. 2- the stair case entry is very steep and has no elevator access so for this with mobility issues this is not your hotel. 3- the amount of deodorizing scent in the hallway to cover up the old carpet smell is noxious. With all that said for a young group who don’t need nor want sleep this is an ideal spot.

• Stevie (6/5): - Old building so the walls are thin and floor creaks to the point that people coming in at 2am kept me up. Bed was hard and uncomfortable, pillows were nice though. Relatively clean and in a good area for walking. For the price it was fine.
• Alex (4/5): - I would love to give more but unfortunately my experience was heavily compromised. The hotel is in a great area, you can get to the old port and the funicular that takes you to old Quebec in a 5 minute walk. Room was very clean, had the basic amenities you would expect, nothing more nothing less. The reason why my score dramatically drops is because of the temperature, the room was boiling hot (thermostat hit 29° at one point), all windows shut and the AC unit was only working in fan mode, so couldn't cool down the place. You couldn't adjust anything either, not sure if they locked the equipment for safety. I was only there for 2 nights, so didn't complain but I let them know at check-out that they were 2 terrible nights. For a hotel not offering any other amenity (no restaurant nor bar, no breakfast) the room must be perfect and provide comfort

• Sophie (8/5): - Pretty clean, decent place. Under the bed could’ve used some cleaning and shower was very small so keep that in mind. Room wasn’t ready until 3:30pm which was slightly annoying, they weren’t sure if it was cleaned or not yet.

A little bit disorgonized, we were contacted about a dozen times, changed rooms for some reason, and random little quirks. But overall very pleasant and perfectly fine amenities. Our room was large and felt like we had our own apartment (probably was formerly an apartment). Much better than generic tower hotels.
• David (8/5): - The room was very nice and clean. However, the the light switch in the room by the door did not work. We found the bathroom, specifically the shower and counter space very small. Overall we had a great time and enjoyed our stay.
• Erik (8/5): Good location - The hotel is well located and is unique and quaint. Stayed for 3 nights, no maid service which wasn’t bad except for having to cross the street to get towels. The bed was not very comfortable and was flimsy and old. It was comfortable enough of a room.

• Max (4/5): - We stayed at Hotel Belley for New Year’s Eve and the days following. While the hotel had some positives, there were significant issues that impacted our experience. The biggest downside was the noise. The bar downstairs was very loud, especially during the night, and the paper-thin walls didn’t help. We could hear nearly everything, including sounds from adjacent rooms. However, the staff went above and beyond to address our concerns. They were understanding and accommodating, eventually moving us to an apartment to ensure a quieter and more pleasant stay. This gesture truly improved our experience and showed their commitment to guest satisfaction. Overall, while the initial stay was disappointing due to the noise levels, the staff’s professionalism and effort to make things right made a positive difference. If you’re staying here, I’d recommend asking about quieter room options ahead of time.

• Shawn (8/5): - A basic room in old Quebec. The property is run by another hotel across the street. 20 mins walk to Chateau Frontenac. Ventilation was broken so bathroom streamed up the room. Windows are screwed closed which didnt help for circulation. Parking is $18 a day offsite (2 min walk). A bit on the pricey side but your paying for the location. It's in an old building but the room was modern.

• Wendy (10/5): - The Hotel Belley is a perfect place to stay in old town, Quebec City. Such an amazing price for the location! The hotel is quaint and nicely appointed. There is no elevator, so request the 1st floor if you need to. We walked uptown to all the historic attractions, shops and dining. We were boarding a cruise ship... we couldn't have stayed any closer or picked a more perfect hotel.

Room is sorely in a need for some TLC (bathroom counters slanted so not useful and loose; celing fan full of caked dust; light bulb burned out; curtains that have seen better days). Not a deal breaker. Just middle of the road.

• JOHN (8/5): - The receptionists at Saint Paul's were very helpful and pleasant .The room in Bexley was on second floor which was good As considerable noise from pub below on Fry evening.Didnt annoy me but if u were light sleeper it could be a problem .Room was quaint but bigger than expected .Not sure it's a good idea having windows screwed shut but there was Aircon . Couldn't get TV to work but that was probably my fault .Overall enjoyed my stay and was very well positioned for cruise terminal train station and old town.
• Marc (8/5): - We were upgraded to the next door sister property Hotel le-Saint-Paul but did hang out at the bar in Belley, which was lively and fun on Saturday night. The room was comfortable with good a/c since the windows didn’t open. Bathroom had good water pressure in the shower and nice products. The shape of the room was quirky and original as befitting an older building. Loved they had a duvet rather than a blanket in terms of cleanliness. There was a mini fridge and a keurig for coffee though the first day we only had one coffee and three tea pods but it was better after day one. Easy check in. It’s across from a gas station which is convenient for snacks and things and the view is of the old port. Really convenient too for cool antique shops and restaurants and about 5-10 minute easy walk to the Place Royale and the Petit Champlain. We would stay again.

The entryway was not too inviting - a bit run-down. We liked the room, but the windows did not open and there was no air movement without the A/C being on. In all, good value for our stay.

• Marc (4/5): - I wish I would have known how badly the building smells of cigarettes before I booked this place. Although there are no smoking signs everywhere, there is an uncanny odour throughout the entire complex. It hit me the minute I walked in the front door, and followed me up to my 2nd floor room. I coughed all night, and felt dry-eyed and stinky the next morning. If that's your jam...happiness. For everyone else, be forewarned.

• Amee (10/5): - I took the Via Rail to Quebec City so the hotel was very convenient (7 minutes walking). It is situated in Old Quebec so everything is within walking distance for food, tourist attractions, and shopping. I enjoyed my stay there and the room was clean and comfortable. The hotel has amicable staff that let me leave my luggage at the front desk until my next train.
• Linda (6/5): - As in other reviews if noise is a concern this is not the place for you especially on the weekends. Location is great - short walk down Rue St. Paul to lower town -short walk uphill via Cote Dinan up to Rue St Jean and Chateau Frontenac. Very close to Via rail station.
