Guest Reviews
- Linda (10/5): A classy B&B - Lovely setting in a very pretty village. House was well appointed with en-suite bathrooms. The host added little services which gave the feeling of class and distinguished it from most other places we’ve stayed at. The breakfasts were divine with lots of attention to presentation as well as nourishment. Highly recommend.
- Fraser (10/5): - An amazing B&B. Highly recommended.
- Christina (10/5): - Cozy intimate friendly beautiful
Delicious welcoming professional courteous...I could go on...Felt like I was visiting family, except i felt so SPOILED. The breakfast was divine.
Will be back
- Karen (8/5): - Historic building with lots of Quebec charm close to the St Lawrence Seaway. Take a walk along the shore or go to the near by park for truly lovely views.
Views only surpassed by Yves amazing breakfast offering. We enjoyed a 3 course breakfast featuring local cheeses and Yves famous "birds nest" egg creation. Delightful!

- Meganck (10/5): - Everything was just great. Got an early check in, and received a nice welcome drink.
Went to a local restaurant, highly recommend it! It was just down to the St Lawrence River. Auberge de la mer I believe . Super nice sunset view!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A great welcome with a house cocktail. Nice surroundings for walking and St-Laurence view. Very good and original breakfast. Good location with closeby known restaurants.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Amazing, the host was great, decor and ambiance was top notch, kudos to Yves, breakfast was a work of art.

- Joy (6/5): Second Look Pays Off - One cannot make quick impressions. Take a closer look and meet the people. This BnB is a prime example. Yves is a wonderful, caring host. He takes a personal interest in what his guests want and then provides more. Port and a chocolate at bed time; 4 or 5 course breakfast in the finest French style. Eggs prepared by him as this writer has never encountered anywhere - and superb. Sunset off the deck overlooking the orchards and the St Lawrence River. Thank you Yves
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful setting with gorgeous flowers. Breakfast was exceptional.
- Les (10/5): If in the Riviere du Loup area, stay here! - Beautiful spot and B&B on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River, not far from the Trans-Canada Highway (TCH), just west fo Riviere du Loup. The host offered us a welcome drink, which we took on the balcony facing the river. When we asked about dinner locations, he suggested a hotel within walking distance on the shore - excellent choice and a memorable meal. When we returned, he gave us a bedtime tray (drink, chocolates, cherries). Breakfast was the same, with small extras that made us feel welcome and special. A definite find, one of the best, if not the best, on our trip.
- Gary (10/5): - Very nice experience...the 3 course breakfast was awesome. We really felt like we experienced local Quebec culture. The house, grounds and nearby town are very charming. Welcome and night cap cocktails were a pleasant surprise.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Liked the B&B location, inside was clean and well appointed.Did not know we would be in the basement of the property though and that was a surprise. Breakfast was lovely and a lot of effort was made to introduce local fare to us.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent B&B. Yve is a very attentive host. From the welcoming cocktail, the evening liqueur and the fabulous breakfast every detail was perfect.
- Sam (8/5): - Great value for money, comfortable enough, slightly dated. Breakfast was delicious, and original.
Merci
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The innkeeper left some chocolate, some cherries, and a shot of something by the bed. This was a nice touch! The room was nicely set up, and looked beautiful. However, there was only a 5 hour check-in window (3-8 pm), and the bed in my room was super uncomfortable. The shower stall had a slanted roof, and I couldn't stand up straight. I also had very limited and inconsistent cellphone reception.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice location. Clean.A nice greeting with cocktail on arrival. Would recommend.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Hospitable host, excellent breakfast, great location close to the river. Thanks!
- leo (6/5): Near the highway - B&B is very nice braakfast menu
Ir is first time to eat
- Bruce (8/5): 2 thumbs up for La Halte du Verger - Yves was a great host. Welcoming with a special fruit cocktail, port and cheese before retiring to our room in the evening and a wonderful breakfast before we left. Food presentation and quality first rate. I would highly recommend La Halte duVerger to anyone passing thru Notre Dame du Portage on the south shore of the St Lawerence.
- Costas N. (10/5): - Looking down over Yves's orchard of apples, pears, and plums as the sun rose over the St.Lawrence is a wonderful way to start the day. The multi-course breakfast deserves the rave reviews left by other visitors. We only wish we'd had more time to stay.
- Ger (8/5): Nice B and B near the Saint Laurence river - Very well maintained and well run B&B.
Welcome drink and friendly host.
Excellent breakfast but the water was well water and smelled bad. Cofffee made from this water was undrinkable
- Mathieu (10/5): Business stay - Nice place! Great host!
- Brenda (10/5): We loved it! - Had a quick overnight on our way back to Ontario from PEI. We loved the area. Yves was delightful. We had a great dinner down on the waterfront (recommended by Yves, included seals playing in the St. L) and a wonderful french breakfast! Will definitely come again....
- Verified traveler (10/5): Charming B&B - Located in nicely decorated french country home on the St Lawrence River. Comfortable bed, quiet. Charming host prepared an excellent breakfast. Close to ferry. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again.
- wayne (8/5): Great stay with amazing breakfast - Great stay ... room was small but comfortable. Breakfast was incredible. .. three courses of French cuisine. Never had anything like it.. wow. Can't get a room .. drive by an beg Yves for breakfast ... really special.
