• Charlotte (8/5): - The location here is unbeatable - wake up overlooking the ocean and you always have the beach to yourself! Good AC and nice to have a little fridge too! Was easy to rent a bike & a good base for exploring the island - but lovely to come back to the peace and quiet! We stayed in one of the older cabins which we loved the rustic wooden feel of, however, some new pillows would be a good touch!

• Sabina (10/5): Wonderful!! - The best place where I stayed during my travel in Thailand. I extended my stay and left only because was fully booked, then I came back after a few days. Good size bungalows with patio and comfortable bed from which you can see the sunrise over the sea. Fully immerse in nature, only sounds of the waves and jungle birds, Gekos and some misterious animals. The beach is peaceful and exclusive, it was like having the beach just for myself, and few more guests It is the perfect place if you wish to create or writing a book, or just just having a quiet peaceful time. They bring water to make coffe every morning in your room. You can rent a scooter there for 250bath - same price all over the small island. The owner Michel and all the staff are very helpful and kind. I will come back for sure whenever I'll be back in Thailand. Thank you!! I may just add some extra plugs - I was given a plug extension when requested, so no much of an issue

• zineb (8/5): Séjour très agréable - La vue sur mer est magnifique. Les gérants sont très sympathiques. C’est un peu loin du centre de l’île mais ça fait une petite balade sympa pour rentrer. Le lit est un peu dur et la propreté est à revoir.
• Ella (9/5): - The beach is peaceful and quiet, with a stunning, beautiful sea. The bungalow was clean and comfortable, with an amazing sea view and a lovely private balcony. There’s also a small restaurant open a few hours a day with tasty food. The staff were very kind and helpful, making me feel right at home. They were happy to help with everything. The wifi connection was well and the water in the shower was usually warm. Thank you for a lovely stay! There are ton of mosquitoes, so come with insect repellent. there are usually nets on the windows but they still tend to get inside. There are also many small lizards on the walls, and at one point there was a much larger one on the floor (about the length of half the arm). It didn’t bother me much. Once there was a blockage in the toilet, but the maintenance staff were quick and happy to help. It’s also important to note that there's a strict quiet rule from 10 PM onwards, so it’s very much a early-night kind of place (I think its similar across the island). You have to wear shoes to get into the sea because there are sharp, painful rocks that can really hurt your feet, which is a bit disappointing. Also, theres no kayak available, only a very small boat. The paddles are basically sticks with a plastic tip that breaks very easily, so it’s not really practical for proper paddling.

• Maarika (9/5): Excellent stay. - I really liked the location of the hotel. It was wonderful to enjoy the sunrise right from my bed in the morning. I also liked that the house had open windows at the front, sides and back for air circulation, which meant I could sleep with the fresh air all night. It was magical. I didn't like one thing. It was the brown water. Despite that, I would still stay there next time.

• Maximilian (8/5): Sehr schöne ruhige Anlage. - Sehr ruhige Lage und dich direkt am Pier. Super nettes Personal und sehr gutes Essen. Absolut unkomplizierter Roller Verleih. Zu Fuß ist der Weg von der Straße ohne Handy Lampe recht dunkel.
• Klopstock (5/5): - Die Lage war sehr schön. Mit eigenem Strand und schöner Aussicht aus dem Bungalow. Die Terrasse mit der Liege hat uns auch sehr gut gefallen. Die Besitzer waren nicht besonders freundlich, von der thailändischen Gastfreundschaft war nichts zu spüren. Der Roller ist mit 250 Baht teuer und das Essen im Restaurant war nicht lecker besonders lecker, vor allem der Kaffee war absolut ungenießbar. Der Bungalow wurde in 4 Tagen nicht geputzt, es gab auch keine neuen Handtücher, der Müll wurde auch nicht geleert. Die Bettdecke war so klein, dass sie nur für eine Person reichte.

The Thai wife was very warm and smiley The owner was very cold. Never see him smile. The cockroaches in the room was a major put off but it’s to be expected at the price point. They never cleaned our room in 3 nights.

Die Unterkunft ein Traum, Bungalow im Thaistyle in erhöhter Lage über dem Strand mit fantastischem Blick auf das saubere und klare Meer. Sitzgelegenheiten am Strand und einem kleinen Restaurant, Rollerverleih zu moderaten Preisen. Sehr nette und hilfsbereite Gastgeber. Ko Mak ist im Vergleich zu Ko Chang sehr sauber und entspannt mit Traumstränden und endlosen Kautschukplantagen, herrlichen Aussichten auf benachbarte Inseln, die mit dem Kanu erreichbar sind. • Caset (8/5): PAOLO ITALIA TRENTINO ALTO ADIGE - Anche se c è il pontile in cemento a poca distanza l ao resort è quasi nascosto dalla vegetazione e questa è un arma vincente oltre l acqua cristallina e la mania maniacacale dello staff e del proprietario compreso, di pulire tutte le foglie e i rametti che sono a terra da qua potete capire. Cosa da rivederere il rifacimento dei primi bungalow in bambù anche se io ci ho dormito e mi sono trovato molto bene. UN PLAUSO PER LA CUCINA Come ho detto prima i bungalow più vecchi

• Marlene (7/5): Süßer aber undichter Bungalow - Die Lage ist schön. Es befindet sich zwar direkt neben dem Steg an dem die Fähren ankommen, jedoch ist wenig betrieb und es ist trotzdem sehr ruhig. Die Unterkunft befindet sich direkt am Strand. Der Strand ist steinig und es bietet sich an dort zu schnorcheln. Es ist schön l, es gibt aber schönere Strände auf Koh mak, dafür ist es eher abgelegen und ruhig. Die Bungalows sind ausreichend sauber allerdings könnten die Matratze mal neu gemacht werden, die sehen nicht mehr so gut aus. Auch sonst sollte man eher nicht zu genau in die Ecken schauen, jedoch ist es auch ein Bungalow am Strand bei dem eben die Wände, Fenster und Türen nicht ganz dicht sind, so kommt schnell dreck aber auch Geckos rein. Das zimmer an sich ist niedlich und schön man muss sich aber allerdings darauf einstellen, dass man sich mehr oder weniger in der Natur befindet, viele Geckos sieht, nachts Geckos Vögel, Einsiedlerkrebse und vieles mehr hört und der Bungalow nicht ganz dicht ist. Es ist also schön wenn man sich darauf einstellt und damit okay ist.

• Carola (8/5): Entspannte Tage auf ko mak - Die gemauerten Bungalows sind sehr schön, der Blick von der Terrasse ist toll. Die Leute sind sehr nett, der gemietete Roller hat uns 5 Tage quer über die Insel gebracht und war mit 250 bhat/tag der günstigste während unserer gesamten Reise. Zum baden/schnorcheln werden badeschuhe benötigt.
• Joel (10/5): Excellent spacious sunrise bungalow that felt private, with a quiet private beach, nice breakfast and great hosts - Stunning views from the bungalow for sunrise and nice little private beach for the resort that is always quiet. Good breakfast available at the restaurant area for very fair prices. Michał and Riam are fantastic and very welcoming and accommodating. We rented a bike from them for the whole of our stay. AC and a hot shower in the bungalows. Fresh bottled water every day and they changed the towels for us half way through our stay on request. Mattress pretty hard and some lizards in the room with some lizard droppings in the room every now and again. A small price to pay for visiting paradise. We would come back 100%
• Ursula (7/5): Für thailändische Verhältnisse war das Zimmer ok, das Bad aber sehr klein. - Die Lage ist ok wenn man ein Moped hat. Das wurde vom Eigentümer vermietet, war nicht optimal - Gabel verbogen, Reifen sehr abgenützt und sprang im Nirgendwo nicht mehr an - Akku leer! Achtung! Bei der Buchung ist angegeben, dass das Frühstück im Preis inbegriffen ist, aber zum Schluss wurde jeder Posten jedes Frühstücks aufgezählt und musste extra bezahlt werden!! Was für eine schlechte Überraschung! Es gibt in dieser Unterkunft 3 oder 4 Kategorien an Zimmern/ Bungalows. Augen auf beim Buchen!

• Michael (10/5): Beau bungalow vue mer, service simple et sympathique. - Accueil très sympathique et informel. Bungalow d'aspect moderne, spacieux et lumineux grâce à de grandes baies vitrées, en hauteur face à la mer, vue magnifique, on est conquis! Terrasse avec table basse, chaises et transat. Literie confortable faisant face à la mer, toilettes séparées, douche spacieuse. Un très beau bungalow, et un service simple sans chichis. Deux bouteilles d'eau offertes chaque jour, ainsi que du café lyophilisé. Le restaurant propose une grande variété de plats traditionnels Thaïlandais, on y mange très bien! Dire que l'on n'a pas apprécié quelque chose serait exagéré, l'hôtel se veut simple et affiche la couleur avec 1*, et l'on se trouve donc dans un excellent intermédiaire entre location et hôtellerie. Il n'y a donc pas de service de ménage systématique, ni prêt de serviette de plage, ce qui à titre personnel ne nous a pas dérangé, mais qui nécessite d'être mentionné pour éviter des déceptions, si ces services vous intéressent.

• Monika (10/5): - Výborne jedlo pani domácej. Majitelia Riam a Michael su velmi mili ludia, velmi napomocni. Mali sme aj lacnejsiu chatku, skromnejsie ubytovanie ale stale ciste. Skusili sme aj drahsiu chatku, ta bola uz samozrejme modernejsia, presvetlena, krasne bolo vidno more z postele. Bola to velmi dobra volba co sa tyka strategicky tiez lokality, ostrov je malinky. My sme mali dni ze sme chodili aj vsade peso. Su tam taxiky za symbolicke ceny. Hodnotim celkovo velmi pozitivne.

Non é il miglior mare per fare il bagno dell’isola, la strada é un po’ dissestata per arrivare soprattutto da percorrere con lo scooter.

Mikael was very helpful! The road to get there is quite bumpy and can get floated.

• fabio (10/5): Resort da sogno - Ao Pong é sicuramente uno dei migliori resort dell'isola per posizione e ambientazione. Comodissimo da raggiungere, a pochi passi dal molo di sbarco si trova in una posizione strategica per visitare l'isola. Lo staff é cordiale e gentile e sempre disponibile a fornire tutte le informazioni necessarie. Abbiamo soggiornato sia nei bungalow di legno che in quelli muratura, ovviamente i secondi sono più stilosi, anche quelli legno sono molto caratteristici, comodi e completamente mimetizzati nella natura e piú economici. Lo scenario è mozzafiato soprattutto all'alba e al tramonto. Tutti i bungalow affacciano su una spiaggetta molto romantica che di notte si popola di piccoli paguri che realizzano graziosi disegni sulla sabbia. La colazione è a pagamento, i loro pancake meritano di essere provati perché sono deliziosi e speciali. Abbiamo noleggiato direttamente dal resort lo scooter per tutta la durata della vacanza. Questo posto rimarrà per sempre nei nostri cuori e speriamo di tornare presto! nulla da segnalare

• Knut Henrik (9/5): Sunrise view - Nice bungalow with a view facing the sunrise. Just 5 min walk to the main pier on the island (ou salad). Scooter can be rented from the resort. The beach was a bit rocky, but still a nice place for a morning swim.

• John (10/5): Quiet peaceful stay with great beach & snorklling - It was a very peaceful & relaxing place. Walking distance from the Ao Nid pier & mini mart, bakery & restaurant. The beach was excellent, great for swimming & snorkelling with the many fish in the mornings. And beautiful sunrises each day you can watch from your bed or balcony with the sound of birds. Also I found the weather to be cooler there with nice breezes coming from the ocean. Stayed for 8 nights & only used the room fan for comfort. Easy to rent a motorbike or get taxis all over the island. Like all peaceful island resorts it’s good to spend a week or more to truly get into the rhythm of the place. Nothing as it was what I expected when booking.

You see the sunrise from your bed in the morning and have a calm place in the evening. You can rent scooters and kayaks from the host for very reasonable prices. Can't really think of anything

Le stanze sono molto essenziali e spartane: letto rigido, zanzariere danneggiate, presenza costante di insetti e gechi, con poca attenzione alla pulizia e nessun cambio di biancheria. In questo periodo non vengono offerti colazione né altri servizi, nonostante i prezzi restino alti. È un alloggio adatto solo a chi cerca un’esperienza molto a contatto con la natura. Noi abbiamo deciso di lasciare la struttura in anticipo.

• Barbara (3/5): Beaucoup trop cher pour la qualité de la prestation. En 4 mois en Thaïlande je n’ai jamais eu d’hôtes aussi peu accueill - L’arrivée pratique non loin du port mais au calme. La vue sur mer, la terrasse avec le hamac, possibilité de louer un scooter sur place. Rapport qualité prix très très moyen. Peu d’infrastructures au bord de la plage. Maison très humide, certaines de mes affaires ont pourries. Douche qui fuit, dur de se laver dans ses conditions. En deux semaines je n’ai eu qu’un seule ménage (que j’ai dû demander). Bouilloire pourrie. La présence d’une moustiquaire était la bienvenue mais malheureusement trouée, je me suis battu avec les papillons et les moustiques tout au long du séjour. Hôtes sympathiques au premier abord mais communication difficile et très particulière, très peu sur le site rendant la communication encore plus dure. Nous étions seulement deux clientes sur le lieux et nous nous sommes sentie peu considérées. Des travaux de fin de saison à côté de ma maison, aucun souci dans la journée mais a duré jusqu’à 21h30 quelque soirs (bruits de perceuse, plusieurs ouvriers donc bruyant). Après un désaccord je n’ai plus eu de contact, attitude puéril, peu empathique, non disponible quand j’ai eu besoin d’eux (a 19h30). Étant en basse saison et ayant seulement deux clientes il est normal qu’ils ne soient pas constamment sur le lieux mais devraient être disponible quand on en a besoin, en particulier avant 20h. Personne au moment de mon départ et pas d’au revoir. À 50 euros la nuit on attends une prestation de meilleure qualité.
• Bárbara (1/5): Bad - The place is beautiful and quiet, but without a doubt it was the worst accommodation experience I've had in recent years. The service and support structure they offer is almost non-existent, in 2 weeks no one offered to clean the room. I had to ask them twice to clean it once in 10 days. My bungalow had very weak water, I could hardly take a shower. On the 3rd day, the bathroom was flooded with water that came up from the plumbing and had a terrible smell. Even though we had been warned, the owners showed no concern for the cleanliness of the room, which was only cleaned when I asked repeatedly. The Wi-Fi is terrible and totally unreliable. I had to use my cell phone's mobile data to be able to work. If you're thinking of working remotely from there, don't go! About 3 days before I left, the owner came to ask me about payment. I told him that it had been done in advance via the app, I showed him the receipt from the bank and on the app, but he was still rude when he said that nowadays hackers can easily falsify these receipts. I felt uncomfortable with his approach. In years of using this app, I've never made a bad comment or given it low marks, but unfortunately there's no way not to inform other travelers of the poor quality of the service provided.

• Catherine (10/5): Exceptional - So peaceful and secluded. Friendly hosts and lovely food. Water and tea/coffee provided every day. Incredible views out onto the sea, we got to watch lightening across the sea one night whilst lying in bed, awesome experience. Would also highly recommend Sweet Cake and Dum noodle both within walking distance.
• Irene (10/5): Exceptional - Great beach front location. Sandy beach. Good sea swimming area. Located near the pier and close to local shops/restaurants. This is on a quiet side of the island and away from the touristy town center. A big plus for me

• Julia (10/5): Absolutely fabulous - Absolutely stunning view, right on the beach. We saw some beautiful sunrises. The balcony was great with a huge sunbed, chairs and a table. The room was spacious and so comfortable. There was a restaurant on site plus other eating options and a shop within a ten minute walk. Easy walking distance from pier. Nothing at all, we loved it.

• Keith (9/5): Conveniently located, right by the sea. Perfect! - The location of both the rooms we stayed in was excellent. Just what we had been looking for - a view straight out to sea. Being v close to the ferry pier was also helpful. Both the owners of the place were always most helpful. It was very useful being able to eat at the location, rather than having to get to somewhere a little distance away. Nothing!

• Steven (8/5): A chill place excellent to unwind. - In one word, the place was "chill." We had a fan bungalow that was rustic but had everything we needed. The restaurant had reasonably priced meals that were very good. It was located within sight of the pier at Ao Nid where we arrived from Koh Chang and we didn't need any taxi service. Best of all for me, as someone who loves to snorkel, there is a reef within easy swimming distance from the shore at the resort. Due to strong winds, a very large tree fell next to the road into the resort and knocked out electric until the electric company could remove the fallen tree and restore service. This also caused the loss of WiFi service in the resort.
• Ian (6/5): Disappointing. - Views were exceptional. Lots of little things which could easily and cheaply be remedied. Uncomfortable balcony furniture, no drinking glasses, etc Worst were the seriously steep homemade concrete steps to the property, uneven, with no handrails, a serious accident waiting to happen.
• Simon (10/5): Exceptional - Great little resort less than 10 minutes walk from the pier. You don't get disturbed though as any boats are quiet and don't come along very often. The place is great! Right on the beach you can watch sunrise from your own private terrace although we opted to walk down the steps onto the beach where there are some seats/hammocks dotted around. The room itself was clean, bed was super comfy and we had some quality sleep with the sound of the waves to sooth us. Was nice to have a good sized room with a terrace to dry our clothes. The first day we walked to some restaurants about 20 minutes away but decided to rent a motorbike as other beaches and restaurants are usually a 5-10 minute drive. The resort serve reasonably priced food both western and Thai (just in the morning and evening), with an idyllic view. When we left they also helped take our bags to the pier and I even forgot an item of clothing which they very kindly put on a boat to Koh Kood so I could collect it on the other side. Overall, really enjoyed our stay and would recommend!
• Kamila (10/5): Best private spot on koh mak - Lovely hidden gem on the island. Super private beach. Great hosts, relaxed atmosphere. Good thai food :) i cannot imagine a better spot Its basic but that is what we loved about it :)
