Guest Reviews
- Sutherland (1/5): -
- Rhonda (8/5): - More hot options at the breakfast bar would have nice. The cold options were plentyful.
- Martinez (9/5): -
- Mike (8/5): - Breakfast was ok. We are not sure why TownePlace will only accept credit cards, but then charges $20 for the use of the credit card.
- Memphis (4/5): decent , needs met - accessible, friendly, and good market sub par breakfast for family . disorganized exposed chords hanging off unit wall . AC/ heater unit unreliable
- CYNTHIA (9/5): Worked out just fine - Convenient Liked it
- Nita (4/5): It was ok but for the price I would have thought it would have been more fancy and the breakfast was not very good - It was close you a party I was attending Not decorated for Christmas.
- Elen (8/5): Nice place for a stop over - Easy access to freeway and rooms
- Isaiah (10/5): -
- Prieto (10/5): -
- Abi Clatk (10/5): - It's the second time we stayed here. It's nice and quiet, We stayed in the 2 bathroom suite. It was comfortable and the staff was nice and helpful. The pool/hot tub was nice and clean. All in a nut sure it was a very nice stay. We didn't know they were doing some work on the front of the hotel, so half of the front and side parking lot was closed off.
- Peggy (7/5): -
- Bert (10/5): - Great staff, rooms well appointed
- Julie (8/5): - All was good and loved everything g except being placed by ice machine that kept me up all night. No room should be placed by that machine!
- Dan (10/5): - Room was clean and staff was very helpful with information. Parking was appropriate..
- Laney (10/5): - Wonderful stay. The room was clean & comfy. Will definitely stay here again.
- Daniel (10/5): - The place was super clean
- davidlN5923GI (2/5): HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! NEVER AGAIN - The front desk was nice. They checked us in no issue. However , when we walked into our room on the second floor the room smelled disgusting. We had to spray the room with Lysol disinfectant spray. I pulled out the sofa bed in the living room and discovered the mattress was filled with urine stains. See photos below. This is completely disgusting and unacceptable. I went to the front desk and told them what I found. The look on the front desk clerk's face showed they didn't care, they just told me they can move me rooms. For what? So you can put me in another dirty room. HOW ABOUT YOU ACTUALLY CLEAN YOUR ROOMS YOU DIRTY PEOPLE!! They obviously don't care about quality service. I do not recommend anyone booking here. DON'T DO IT! LOOK AT THE PICTURES. I will never come back to this hotel again. NEVER AGAIN!
- Karen (10/5): - Great place to stay
- Laney (6/5): - I usually like staying at Towne Place but this time was disappointing. We checked in around 930pm and had to wait for a staff member to clean the hallway to get to the elevator, and when the door opened there was something in the floor that was quickly sprayed and wiped up. We went in and it was clear someone had just been sick. The stinch was horrendous. It should’ve been stopped and sanitized, it was so bad. There was another elevator so I’m not sure why we were waived into that one by staff.
We had a king room that was smaller than their usual king size, and the pullout couch butted up to the end of the bed so you couldn’t walk across the room to get to the bathroom if the couch was made into a bed.
We have another trip planned at the end of the month and I’m considering looking elsewhere to stay. Disappointed for sure.
- Rhuslan (8/5): It was a good stay. - The staff was awesome and the pool was empty and clean. The room smells a little bit bad. Also the cream cheese and butter were not accessible in the breakfast area, you have to ask the attendant for it and she would ask how many do you need and bring it to you( first time I experience that in a continental breakfast). The lady was always kind, I am not sure if that’s hotel policy, but it was uncomfortable to always ask for cream cheese and butter.
- Yvonne (6/5): - Room was smaller than expected and the layout didn’t make sense, we kept running into each other, bed was comfortable though. Breakfast was mediocre with not too many options.
- YA Ting (9/5): - 非常棒,床好睡,公寓式兩間房,房間都很大,廚具乾淨,週邊超市很多,對面有一間愛心二手店,可以去看看,停車方便,有冰塊間和洗衣間 網路慢
- Joanna (10/5): - Była wyposażona kuchnia i pyszne śniadanie w lobby.Hotel z parkingiem w centrum przy sklepach. Jak na 3 osoby to trochę mały był ten pokój bo po rozłożeniu dodatkowego łóżka bylo mało miejsca na torby, ale myślę ,że dla 2och to byłoby super.
- Adrian (10/5): - It was a very easy check in! Tristian was helpful and very professional. Hotel is clean and breakfast has a good variety.
- Maite (10/5): Séjour très apprécié. - La chambre correspondait à mes attentes : propre, bien équipée pour la cuisine. De plus l’hôtel est bien situé juste en face du Walmart. Le personnel est accueillant.
- Stephen (10/5): It was a nice stay for our purposes of looking at some investment properties in Bakersfield. - The staff changed our corner suite=two bedroom, when the air-conditioner was making way too much noise for my wife or me to sleep at night. They did it right away with no hassle to us. The food at the front desk to buy was pretty expensive and not healthy.
- Abi Clatk (10/5): -
- Michael (8/5): Good Choice - This is our second time staying. The location is very convenient with many shops and restaurants nearby. Easy and quick commute to downtown. The area is safe and clean. The facility is clean and well laid out. The pool and breakfast were good. The rooms are clean and well laid out but some surfaces are showing wear. The 2 bedroom units are a plus. The staff were very friendly and professional.
- Rebecca (1/5): Horrendous - Clean and comfy beds. AC did not work. When raising the issue with staff the front desk manager was hostile and rude. The operations manager was unreachable and did not return any voicemails. Knew there was an issues in multiple rooms with AC units that did not work and refused to acknowledge the lack of quality and hospitality of their facility.
- Juan (10/5): - Near the hotel is great selection of eating establishments. Also a Walmart and grocery market.
- Jacques (8/5): - Decent accommodations, breakfast, location.
- Sonya (10/5): Exceptional -
- Heber (10/5): - Great experience
- Jesse (10/5): - Friendly staff
- Lewis (9/5): Superb -
- Miguel (8/5): Very good -
- Gilverto (10/5): - Checking in and out was fast and easy! Staff was great! Definetly worth the stay
- Doretha (10/5): Family Visit - Check in, comfortable beds, cleanness in every area, and polite customer service was excellent. I would definitely recommend and stay for future visits.
- Juan (10/5): - Great service
Thank you
- Kasandra (10/5): Exceptional -
- K (2/5): Very poor - Kitchenette Smoke smell, and ac kept on switching off . Rooms were told to be non smoking but had smoke smell in them
- Joseph (10/5): - Great!
- Gregory (6/5): - Was disappointed to learn on my second day that they only perform maid service every other day, which in my case meant never. Probably wouldn't have been a deal-killer, but certainly should have been disclosed prior to completing the booking process.
- Road63157862588 (4/5): No cleaning - There was no cleaning done in my room, only replaced the towels.
Marriott has downgraded the services since the pandemic.
Other hotel brands are back to daily cleaning, while Marriott will ask is you need a regular cleaning every other day. Even you agree, no one clean the room until you asked for it.
- Christine (10/5): - This hotel had everything we needed. I especially appreciated the full kitchen. The whole place felt very homey. The staff was helpful and friendly. The only thing I didn’t like was the salt shaker that had course salt inside that the shaker had to grind. The salt came out too much. It would be better if they switched to standard salt shakers. Other that, our stay was perfect. I will definitely stay again.
- Jackie (10/5): Overnight trip. - Front desk was courteous and very quick. Enjoyed our stay
- Hatuaon (10/5): - We recently stayed at this hotel for almost a week during our kitchen renovation, and it was a fantastic experience. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the excellent service and warm hospitality. The hotel is in a quiet area, making it a peaceful and relaxing stay.
The rooms were spotless and well-maintained, providing a comfortable and cozy atmosphere. Every staff member we interacted with was friendly, professional, and attentive to our needs.
Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, cleanliness, and exceptional service. We will definitely be back!
- dorothy j. (10/5): Great accommodations - I loved the accommodations. I love the Marriott’s hotel. Very nice
- Main (9/5): Quiet and beautiful location - Feeling safe and cleaned Low the prices
- Sightseer568007 (2/5): Horrible experience - We made reservations for this hotel in January for our March stay for a week. We requested a two bedroom suite with two queen beds with an accessible bathroom. We were sent an email guarantee our request. The day we were to check in I arrived at the hotel and was told that they do longer had an ADA room. They said they had sent me an email that day. Mindful it was received at 12:45 PM while I’m driving to Bakersfield. Not that that made any difference because that was still unacceptable. They said they had a regular room we could have on the first floor. I told him that was not acceptable because my son is in a wheelchair and has to have an accessible bathroom. They said there was nothing they could do. That’s ridiculous. Why make reservations if they don’t have to honor them. This caused so much stress as we scrambled to find a hotel that had an accessible bathroom.
- 360kristiej (4/5): Disappointed - Bed and pillows were uncomfortable, and the bed sheet cover fitted sheet kept coming off. The minute we entered the room it smelled which made me gag - it was coming from the kitchen but I couldn’t find it. The breakfast was not good and the coffee was lukewarm. I will not stay here again especially for the price
- Brian (9/5): Superb -
- Michelle (8/5): Very good - I THOUGHT THE PET FEE WAS EGREGIOUS
- Kuros (10/5): - Nice and Clean.
- Percy (8/5): - It was overall great.
- Rabun (8/5): Very good -
- RYAN (10/5): Great Place, Bad Beds - I have stayed in multiple places in town over the last couple months and this is by far my favorite. It’s a little out of the city center, but it’s extremely clean, the staff is very friendly and helpful. I would take off at least one star for the quality of the bed. I had the two queen beds and it felt like laying on the floor. My back will take some time to recover.
I would return again and probably try a king bed.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great choice - Easy checkin and check out. Friendly staff and clean facility. Easy parking. Breakfast hours end at 9am even on Saturday so breakfast seemed a bit rushed for many travelers. Room smaller but set up like a suite.
- tracy (10/5): - I stayed here after hearing how centrally located it was to Shafter Cemetary & shops/restaurants in Bakerdfield. It took me no time to get to the cemetary to visit my pops on his birthday. I enjoyed the walk across the street to the big shopping center after a very long traffic filled drive from Temecula. Great spot w/ excellent and professional staff. I highly recommend!
- Eduardo (4/5): - Ac not working room 325 gets hot! Told front staff and said it was woking fine.... so i guess oh well...
- Miguel (10/5): Great trip - All No answer
- Alicia (10/5): - First time here for a friend’s birthday party and they recommended we stay here! Loved our room and if we come back to Bakersfield in the future, we will stay here again!
- MICHAEL (10/5): - STAFF WAS EXCELLENT
- Pamela (10/5): Great hotel with full kitchen. - I liked the room and the amenities. The room was the size of a two bedroom apartment. Everything you need is in the kitchen to cook a meal except the food. R8ght next to Walmart and a grocery store if you need to shop. The pool's spa wasn't working and it was full of roaches. Our lamp was broken in the livingroom.
- Jean (10/5): - Staff was GREAT, sprinklers in the back are broken though. Terrible to see so much water wasted on pavement.
- Carolyn (10/5): - Came for a family event. Let us check in early and was able to get ready in the room parking was easy and lots of room room was very clean. Well appointed staff was lovely and morning. Breakfast was pretty good. Had coffee on the patio weather was perfect
- Anastasia (10/5): - Clean, staff was helpful
- Marcela (10/5): Exceptional - Place was very clean and nice
Bed very comfortable. Staff was friendly too
Kitchette wsd a plus
- Enrique (1/5): Bad -
- Zarate (10/5): Exceptional -
- Desiree (5/5): Passable - Location Not super clean, slow internet, phones and tv weren’t working well.
- Jason (6/5): Nice place, bad hosts - The room was really nice. The ladies at the front desk acted like you burden them when you check in. They didn’t explain anything to me, directions to room, check out time, breakfast time, wifi info, etc.
- Herbert (10/5): - We loved the two bedroom suite with living room and kitchen, the excellent breakfast, and the price. We stayed here in July because it was within striking distance to the state parks.
- Chancy (8/5): Very good -
- Luis (9/5): Great stay. Great service. -
- Jeremy (10/5): - We loved this property and the pool was clean and excellent.
- tim (8/5): - The breakfast was a let down free included but very small and very little options
- Cynthia (5/5): Disappointed - The first room we stayed in was very nice and clean. The hotel in general was very nice and clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They had a nice assortment of items for breakfast. The first night the lock on the door didn't work. When we called the front desk they said there wasn't anything they could do about it at the time but would fix it the next day. The next day we left at 8:30am to go to our event and when we returned after 2:00pm they were working on the door lock but couldn't fix it, so instead of coming back and relaxing we had to pack up and move to another room. The room they moved us to was clean but had a lot of wear and tear and some of the lights didn't work. $182 a night was not a good value for this hotel.
- Jonathan (10/5): - Staff was really friendly and easy to talk to! The cabinets in the small kitchen we're kind of thin but everything was perfect!
- Judy (10/5): Restful, relaxing - Accommodations were more then expected; quiet & comfortable.
- Porcha (6/5): - Good hotel but they did not have any towels available and said if we needed some we had to wash them ourselves and pay for it.
- Kathlene (10/5): - Good location and quiet.
- Barbara (10/5): - The property was fabulous. The room was beautiful and the bed was very comfortable.
The breakfast was complimentary and they had waffles. Two weeks prior we stayed here as well and anytime we come back to this area we will stay here. Oh the staff is so accommodating and sincere.
- Kelli (10/5): - Super nice staff
- Martin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Davis (10/5): Satisfied - Close to where I’m at people
- Elaine (7/5): Good - Room was not what I expected from a Marriott Hotel. Breakfast was OK but they need another waffle iron. The sausage patties were cold and I had to reach over the waffle iron to get to the oatmeal.
- Kandy (9/5): Superb -
- Asia (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay here. It was clean and quiet. The staff were very nice to us.
- Dixie (6/5): - Staff was friendly and accommodating; however troops were uncomfortable (we had a suite) and the furniture was worn and dirty. Kitchen was poorly appointed.
- Alexander (10/5): Exceptional - Nice townhouse style rooms were great for us.
- Jayson (10/5): Recommend! Well-accommodated, clean, friendly - Great hotel! The staff was friendly and the room was clean. The room was well-appointed. It had a fridge, 2 cooktops, and sink. Breakfast was included and parking was free. The room itself is slightly dated, but in great condition. No complaints. Lovely stay!
- Humphryg (6/5): Stay here if you have no other choices - Positives - room clean, small kitchen in hallway, large bathroom. Negatives - bed hard as a rock, awkward layout as the door to the bathroom opens into the bed, no housekeeping service on a 2 day stay at all, not even to remove garbage or replenish coffee supply, and poor maintenance as the heating/air in the room did not work and a light bulb flicked on and off - staff notified but nothing was fixed. Probably would not be my first choice again.
- Helovesmythighs (6/5): It’s Bakersfield - Chose this hotel for a baseball tournament, (we travel A LOT….) based on its proximity to the fields and the food options near the hotel. However, the hotel is small, dated and could use an update. Breakfast is provided, however you cannot use the lobby after 11am. They were kind enough to let some of the dads have a few beers after dinner in the lobby that was completely empty.
We were not able to get additional towels for the 2 nights we were here and I had 2 dirty, smelly baseball players in my room. The water was luke warm at best for the showers in the morning and our rooms were not cleaned even though we asked for it to be cleaned.
- Paul (10/5): Comfortable, good rest - Friendly staff helped with checkin. There was a problem with my TV, but front desk was able to get someone up to look at it in a timely manner. Maintenance person was friendly and helpful, and was able to fix the issue pretty quickly. Didn't realize there was a kitchen; next time I am down here, I will make sure to take advantage. Overall, an excellent stay.
- Alexis (10/5): Will stay here again. - From check-in to check-out my stay experience was great.
- Angela (10/5): - Newer facility in a newer area near restaurants, gas stations and shopping. Only 1.5 hours to LA.
- Christian (10/5): - Staff was helpful and respectful. Nice and quiet even being close to elevator and considering there was a little league team there at the same time. Lots of shopping very close by within walking distance if necessary. Mexican restaurant next door has good food and great margaritas. Convenient.
- Balbhim (10/5): - Location
