- Lori (8/5): Clean, quiet and convenient! - Convenient to downtown and to Angels Camp. Quiet at night. I felt bad that only one woman was doing all of the work - cleaning the rooms, cleaning the pool, registering guests - she was lovely but could have used some help!

- Terry (7/5): The good and the bad - The location is great because it’s walking distance to town. The beds were very comfortable and it had great water pressure. We had a fridge in microwave and coffee in the room, which was nice. Our first night was very quiet and our room faced the back of the motel, the second night was another story.. (see below). We had some problems with TV and WiFi and the maintenance and housekeeping staff did go above and beyond trying to remedy the problem, but were not successful. The motel has dish TV and Internet service and though the remote has a link for Netflix and our television did, the TV would not hook up to the Wi-Fi. They even give us another room to try it and it would not work. We had been looking forward to a movie after our day in town so it was very disappointing. It turns out that Wi-Fi is blocked for the TV and even though they have Roku TVs, the Roku does not work. It seems that dish has blocked anything coming into the television except their own TV channels. That was a little frustrating for sure and we spent a lot of time trying to make it work since it only made sense if there was a Netflix link on TV and the hotel had Wi-Fi Netflix and it should work. I did ask the staff to make sure to tell people when they check in that the Netflix doesn’t work. We would not have wasted all our time. We spent over an hour and then moved rooms and spent another 30 minutes and still did not get the problem solved. The maintenance did say they were gonna contact management to see if there was something that could be done for the future. Maintenance in the front desk staff were very good though. Our first night was quiet. The second night was another story. Behind the motel is a two-story yellow house that is a Airbnb. There was no one there since there were no lights or cars the first night we stayed. The second night there was a car in the driveway and the lights were on. There is a large white dome on their side yard facing the hotel that must be some type of pump. That pump turned on and off every few minutes all night long and kept us awake. It was very frustrating and very loud. So as a precaution in the future, I would suggest getting a room that faces the parking lot of the motel. Another thing that was very bothersome for me is there is no independent deadbolt or latch lock on the door. The only lock is the electronic lock to get in.

The location was great, Beds were comfy, room was very clean. Staff was very nice. I would 100 percent stay there again! They had a few lawn chairs we went to sit on to have a glass of wine out front. The material was was sun weathered. My friend and I both felt we should move to the pool area a find a bench. Not a big deal, they just might want to replace soon. The bathroom towels were thin too. Again, not a big deal for us.

Would have liked to see a privacy door lock on the doors in the rooms, this was the first motel/hotel I have stayed in that did not have that. Also, the light above the mirror in the bathroom area did not work, would be nice if they stayed up to date on keeping the rooms updated in that aspect.

The room was bigger then most king sized rooms, and had all the basic accommodations. Welcoming staff.

It was an older property, in need of updating. It was clean, and ok for one night, but a bit overpriced. Some curtains and a sheer strung across window with I think string. They had to be as old as the building.

- Alison (8/5): We HIGHLY recommend the Murphys Inn Motel! - We had a wonderful stay! The motel was very clean, quiet, and the beds were extrememly comfortable! I think the bath/shower must have been quite new - and the room was perfect. Definitely highly recommend. It is a minute walk from downtown Murphys and we had a great 2 days winetasting, eating delicious food, and chatting with the staff at each establishment. Unfortunatley the 4th July fireworks were cancelled, but we saw 2 wonderful bands up at the Lube Room and Camp Connel General Store, and hiked the South Grove at Calaveras Big Trees. Love the area, and will certainly be back!

Also, they de-programmed the key about half-an-hour before checkout time. Looks like there's no elevator. It's not an issue for us this time, but for elderly/disabled travelers, it might be.

- Brianna (9/5): - I’ve stayed at every place in murphys pretty much over the years. this hotel is far better than the historic one and far cheaper. a tiny bit further but extremely easy to walk, the downtown is maybe 3 min walk
