• Alexis (10/5): - Tout était absolument parfait : la chambre, la plage, la piscine, la nourriture, le personnel, le design de l’hôtel… Nous avons passé une semaine au paradis. Loin des grands hôtels où il faut se battre pour trouver un transat, The Chedi est un véritable havre de paix qui respire la sérénité. Son emplacement dans la station sécurisée d’El Gouna est également un énorme point positif : l’endroit est magnifique, pittoresque, propre et luxueux. On peut facilement prendre un tuk-tuk pour aller dîner dans le Downtown, où l’on trouve de très bons restaurants ainsi que des boutiques de souvenirs à des prix tout à fait raisonnables. Chaque trajet en tuk-tuk ne coûte qu’environ 50 livres égyptiennes, ce qui rend les sorties du soir très agréables après une journée passée à l’hôtel. Mention spéciale à Omar et Ismail, qui nous ont chouchoutés chaque jour à la piscine. Rien

Abwechselnd Buffet (oft mit netter Abendunterhaltung) und Menu. Hervorzuheben sind die Mitarbeiter. Eine freundliche professionelle Einstellung wie man sie sich wünscht. Einen recht passablen Gym, zwei Pools (wir waren immer am Strand) werden gut betreut. Man muss nichts selbst machen. Sofort kommt ein netter Mann und macht die Liegen. Wenn es sehr heiß wird werden kalte Tücher, Wasser und kleine lustige Abkühlungen gereicht. Ideal zum entspannen. Und mit dem Tuctuc (Festpreis kein Euro) ist man rasch im quirligen Hafen oder Downtown. Nichts

• ThierryP83 (10/5): Just perfect! - We stayed at The Chedi El Gouna for 6 days and had an amazing experience. The place is absolutely incredible, with a private beach, beautiful swimming pools, and a stunning atmosphere overall. We had a room with direct access to the beach, and the view was simply breathtaking. The breakfast was outstanding, with a large variety of high-quality food. The hotel also offers several excellent restaurants, including a Japanese restaurant, the Beach House, and The Restaurant, where we enjoyed delicious meals every day. All the staff were extremely kind, professional, and attentive throughout our stay. The pool staff were also excellent and always made sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. We truly had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend The Chedi El Gouna.

• Roving736978 (10/5): Simply heaven - We booked this as we were staying at another hotel and our flight was leaving much later than we could check out. Despite there being an obvious error in the pricing, the hotel honoured our booking - half board in a premium room. I had informed the hotel that this trip was my 50th birthday present. On arrival we were greeted very warmly by Macarious George - guest ambassador and he was just exceptional. We explained we would in fact only be using the facilities for 5 or so hours so would not be there for dinner or breakfast. Macarious changed our half board to lunch and our room was ready 5 hours earlier than normal check in. The check in experience was wonderful with a glass of rose sparkling wine and dates and macaroons. We were then swiftly transported to our room and on entering realised they had decorated it. We had lunch and were prepared to pay for our drinks but were informed these were included. Whilst we lounged on comfortable sun loungers - the hotel had put a birthday cake and more sweet treats in the room. I just can’t express what an exceptional experience this was and it rounded off a perfect holiday in EL Gouna. We will definitely be back and I am so very grateful to the hotel and especially Macarious George for making me feel so special

Everyone at the hotel goes out of their way to make you feel welcome and ensure you have best possible stay. We really enjoyed the Chedi; the rooms were very beautiful and spacious, and above all, we appreciated the cleaning service provided by Hani Mohamed for our room and Ramadan Magdy for our children's room. They were very attentive to ensuring our room was always clean and that we lacked nothing, always with a smile. It had been a long time since we had received such service in a hotel. Thank you very much to them.The hotel restaurant is also very well run, both the main restaurant and the beach restaurant. Every employee does their best to please us, always with a smile. As a sports enthusiast, I particularly appreciated the fully equipped gym with Technogym equipment. The coach, Mohamed Mostafa, is incredible; very professional. He knows his job and is motivated to coach you. he takes the time to advise everyone, and his fitness classes are very well taught. He's a true fitness pro. Don't hesitate to go to the gym; he's always available to help you. Thank you to the entire Chedi team for making our stay so enjoyable.

• sachao968 (8/5): Chedi El Gouna - Hurghara - We went to Chedi El Gouna because of a former Chedi experience in Oman. High expectations. Perhaps a little too high. Property has a lovely location within a 40 min drive from the Hurghada airport. The desert you cross is completely littered with plastic rubbish everywhere you look. Magically, from the moment you take the exit to El Gouna, the surroundings are manicured and clean as can be. A bit surreal transition. The Hotel is a true oasis in the midst of this. Lovely reception area with welcome drink and golf-cart ride to your well airco'd accommodations. Well to very well staffed services from housekeeping to beach service and restaurant. The property has 3 main restaurants: 1 beach club for Lunch/Bar en 2 choices for the evening and 1 for breakfast. All offer enough menu options for a lengthier stay. Regular live music performances with pleasant, chill music. Tuc-tucs can also easily transport you to off-property really good alternatives. We experienced quite windy days which made the beach chilly. Anyway, so many jellyfish around that swimming in the lovely pools felt safest. The SPA is superb and boasts really great staff. The gym is also worth your visit. The culture is tips-driven. In a reasonable mannor. We missed a personal touch from the GM. No personal rounds to check with guests which would be typical for a propery of this high standard. 5 pleasant days in a very relaxing place offering a complete peaceful backdrop

• Fay (9/5): Beautiful beachfront hotel with excellent breakfast and friendly staff - We stayed here on our honeymoon and it was very special. This is a beautiful hotel, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful and mostly seemed genuinely happy to be at work - which makes me think they are treated well. The pools and beach are gorgeous and we loved swimming in the sea. We had a beachfront room with a terrace right on the beach and it was stunning. The breakfast buffet was one of the best I've ever seen, so many options including some delicious authentic egyptian breakfast options - and sparkling wine! Amazing if you are staying to celebrate a special occasion. Housekeeping also decorated our room and left us a cake to celebrate our honeymoon which was a lovely surprise. The location is good, we walked into El Gourna town for a cocktail and dinner, and we went on an incredible snorkelling trip from a nearby marina. Considering the high price of the hotel, I was a bit disappointed that on our second day housekeeping didn't come until 4:30pm despite us calling twice to ask for the service. This was inconvenient because we couldn't enjoy the privacy of our room as we were waiting for them and didn't want to turn on "do not disturb", and we didn't have fresh towels to shower when we wanted to. They then came about at 6:00pm (only 1.5 hours later) for turn-down service when we were still getting ready for dinner. Also the beach bar seemed understaffed - I'm pretty sure there was only 1 person taking drinks orders and delivering drinks for the whole beach. This meant it was sometimes difficult to order drinks.
• 355sheilaw (10/5): Supreme massage experience - Here’s the updated review: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I’ve been lucky enough to have massages all over the world, so I know when someone is truly exceptional — and Sama is exactly that. I had the signature massage at the beautiful Chedi Spa in El Gouna, Egypt, which began with a steam and an exfoliation that left my skin wonderfully silky — before Sama had even begun the massage itself. Her technique is outstanding, but what sets her apart is something that simply can’t be taught: genuine empathy, an extraordinary intuition, and the ability to locate problem areas without you having to say a word. That is a gift, not a skill, but sales has that too. I came to her with a shoulder issue following a broken arm, and she helped me regain movement I hadn’t had for some time. I was so impressed I immediately booked a second session — and my daughter and husband both had massages with her too. That says everything. Sama has a warm, lovely personality that puts you completely at ease, and her ability is among the very best I have ever experienced.

Da sehr kalter Wind war, haben die Poolboys ihr bestes gegeben, um den Wind abzuschirmen. Das Zimmer war doch etwas klein bzw. nicht gut aufgeteilt,ebenso die Terrasse. Das Essen vor allem u das Hotel insgesamt waren im Vergleich deutlich zu teuer. Ich war von El Gouna enttäuscht, es wirkt alles etwas unfertig od heruntergekommen. Wie erwartet, keine Schnorchelgelegenheit.

All staff were friendly and attentive. Special thanks to Omar who kept our room clean, fresh and well decorated and to Magda, the spa therapist, for an amazingly relaxing facial treatment. The perfect short getaway to warm and sunny El Gouna amidst a very rainy & windy European spring!

• mirjambywater (8/5): Nice Hotel but not a Leading Hotel of the World - Nice beachside Hotel, everything looks like on the photos. But some areas could use some touch up. Service is good but not up with the standards of a five star hotel excluding the boys at the pool-/beachside and the service staff for the Beach Bar. They did an excellent job. The restaurants were disappointing, the Japanese Restaurant is not a Japanese Restaurant more a Restaurant with an Asian Touch. That was ratheter disappointing. The food in the main Restaurant ist good, some days buffet style and some days à la Carte but a bit repetitive even with changing themes. THe barbeque night was very disappointing as the meat was overcooked. For a one of the Leading Hotels of the world I have to say that the Standards are not quite there and there is some work to do.
• 885fuade (10/5): Massage st the spa with Sams - Wherever I go, I always seek good food, great coffee, and a proper massage. During my stay at The Chedi in El Gouna, I booked a 90-minute deep tissue massage with Sama (which beautifully means “sky” in Arabic). The experience began with a 15-minute body scrub in a steam room. It left my skin feeling incredibly soft and smooth, and immediately gave me confidence in what was to come. Sama asked if there were any areas that needed special attention—I chose not to mention anything, curious to see if she would pick up on them herself. Gradually, she did exactly that. By the time she asked me to turn over, I found myself thinking, “Oh no, we’re already halfway through.” The pressure and technique remained consistent throughout, and by the end, I felt completely light and free of stiffness. I’ve had massages in many places around the world known for their expertise—India, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Japan, Turkey, and across Europe. I can confidently say that this massage by Sama ranks among the very best.

• lcrewe2026 (10/5): Easter holiday - Relaxing stay at the Chedi in a beachfront room.enjoyed being able to walk out straight onto the beach. Plenty of sunbeds on the beach and around the pools. Despite being Easter holidays the hotel didn't feel busy and was quiet in the evening, but downtown also didn't seem very busy. Good location and easy to get tuk tuks to go downtown or to the marina, each journey was about 70p. The food was very good and food and drink reasonably priced as long as you stick to local spirits and wine. The Egyptian wine was good and we stuck to Beaujolais and Gardin de Nile. Staff and service very good as you would expect. Liked the app to order services and activities. We went to the free mixology session, we were the only attendees so more cocktails for us! Would definitely recommend a snorkeling trip.

Es ist angenehm das dieses Hotel nicht so riesig ist, dadurch ergibt sich ein familiäres Flair, was uns gut gefallen hat. Die Zimmer sind schlecht aufgeteilt und sind sehr klein. Wir hatten die DZ direkt am Strand. Leider ist es mit der Sauberkeit auch eher schwierig. Aber es wurde sich bemüht dies zu verbessern, nachdem wir dies beanstandet hatten. Das Preis Leistung Verhältnis stimmt leider nicht zu teuer für das was das Hotel tatsächlich bietet. Dieses Chedi ist nicht mit dem Chedi beispielsweise im Oman vergleichbar und eine Enttäuschung wenn man den Standart vom Oman Chedi erwartet.

I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and luxurious holiday.

• edisa (10/5): Top Urlaub - Ein sensationelles Hotel! Die Zimmer sind top ausgestattet, sehr sauber und bieten eine perfekte Lage direkt am Strand. Besonders hervorzuheben ist der hervorragende Service – sowohl beim Zimmerservice als auch im gesamten Hotel. Die Reinigung der Zimmer war ausgezeichnet, alles war stets makellos. Auch kulinarisch wurden unsere Erwartungen mehr als übertroffen: Egal ob im Restaurant, beim À-la-carte-Essen oder beim Frühstück – wir waren rundum begeistert. So zufrieden und erholt waren wir schon lange nicht mehr nach einem Urlaub. Für uns stimmt hier einfach alles: Sauberkeit, Service und Atmosphäre sind auf höchstem Niveau. Wir kommen definitiv wieder!

We had some positive highlights as well as areas for improvement. The staff were truly a real bonus—warm, welcoming, and attentive. Unfortunately, the timing of our visit didn’t quite align with the conditions. While the pool setup near the beach was lovely, strong winds made the experience uncomfortable. Although they mentioned the pool was temperature-controlled, it was cold, which didn’t meet expectations for a high-end property, especially given the unpredictable weather. The beach bar menu was heavily focused on international/European tastes, which didn’t cater well to Asian preferences. Overall, we didn’t feel it was good value for the money spent. Our room itself was beautiful, with a stunning view, but we couldn’t fully enjoy it. For a hotel of this caliber, we expected better in-room amenities at least Netflix or the ability to connect our own streaming services. When weather is poor (like the cold, windy conditions we faced), we would have appreciated a relaxing indoor option. Unfortunately, the internet was also unreliable in our room, only working in common areas, which was another inconvenience.

Beautiful facilities, great service and especially the breakfast buffet with the fresh strawberry juice and the chocolate croissant pyramids made it again very special. The dinner was delicious, however sadly they were limited vegetarian options

Le petit déjeuner était parfait, un délice ! La chambre spacieuse et très bien entretenue chaque jour. Nous avons également testé le SPA et ça nous a fait un bien fou! Les massages effectués par CIEL et MAI étaient incroyables ! Nous reviendrons sans hésiter ! Encore un grand Merci !

• Yara (8/5): It was fine, not really our best stay - Breakfast was average, lots of breads and not lots of things to put inside the bread, the location of the hotel is nice in El Gouna, the room was not really up to our expectations, with no terrace, not even a balcony, no view, and we thought we booked a suite for the purpose to have an amazing experience but it was fine, not amazing, the beach unfortunately is dirty, it could make a difference if the lifeguards just hold a net and remove the plastic bags from the water every now and then, it could make a big difference Already mentioned above that the beach was dirty unfortunately and our room had zero view/ no balcony/ no terrace even though we booked a suite, in room dining is not good at all/ we stay in lots of luxury hotels so we have plenty to compare it with and they still need lots to be improved
• Valentina (9/5): Still our favorite in Gouna - It’s our 5th stay at The Chedi and it is the best hotel in Gouna. However, this time we noticed a decline in quality which we hope will be improved as we would like to keep coming to Gouna, Staff at the beach were super nice as usual, special thanks to them. Beach bar staff were great as well (esp Ibrahim) and special thanks to the cook Abdallah from the main restaurant. I found it ridiculous we have to pay for the water at breakfast, while paying £595 for a room per night. All the other drinks are free, but water is paid for if you want a bottle not an open jug with filtered tap water (traveling with 2 small kids the last thing I want is tap water in Egypt). Food quality, still good, was worse than in previous years. The beach needs more cleaning Waiting times for the food in the main restaurant are too long at dinner

• gilardoni (8/5): The expectations where high…..maybe there are a few things to be improved - Located on a bay close to the downtown area the position is perfect. Upon arrival we where pleasingly surprised by the efficiency of the reception personnel not as much from the very minimalist design of the entrance hall. The room too (4013 and 4020) are poorly designed (a lot of wasted space, and very disfunctional design specially in the bathroom. The amenities present are now in “big bottles” maybe more eco friendly but certainly less fun. The two sinks are all on one side and the space for the cosmetics is away from the beauty mirror and the sinks. The shower is big, so big that it has two rain shower position…. Why? The toilet (again way to big) doesn’t have a bidet or a water shower to wash yourself. All of this leaves little space for the closet and hardly any other space, in fact there is no sofa or a comfortable desk. The coffee machine (not Nespresso) doesn’t have sufficient pressure and coffee is quite bad. For two days the television was not working. Positive: all the staff is particularly helpful and friendly. Breakfast is good and service even here is great. Food… ok maybe the price asked for New Year’s Eve dinner was way outrageous… but we all know that what to expect that evening.
